Mine shows the same thing, but even on something like Zul in KR or a tough m+ boss at a high lvl that it never eats more than whatever I cap out at.

99% positive mines working like that, I have 120k, take a 60k hit, I heal for 60k, still have 60k left in the tank
even when I was doing big keys earlier I felt invincible sometimes

so definitely bugged somewhere

well Nomeratur, as a new raid leader my advice to you would be. Definitely try to do as much mythic raiding as possible for gear, but I would not priority whiping 100 times on a boss over clearing heroic each week to help gear your raid overall. then when nerfs hit you can get further into mythic.

If you're playing properly, changing to like...pure defense azerite or something isn't going to make a noticeable difference outside of super niche situations.
That being said, the normal azerite builds are pretty defensive as well. e.g. BoM massively increases crit block chance and increases IP size, DC provides extended duration on one of our defensives, BfI and IF both provide defense as well as offense, etc.

@exotic spoke It takes 10 days to get a bodyguard to rank 10 (without the items) and you need all 3 at rank 10 to get lucid rank 3 so unless you're insanely lucky with the bodyguard XP drops, I don't think it's even possible.

Replace anything which you don't already have with 425 benthic + socket gear
bracers that shoot frostbolt and boots for crit are your best dps options
there are other defensive options whihc are okay too
realistically you don't have enough to upgrade 2 pieces to 425 without getting very lucky on rolling a socketed good item

I haven't played in a few months. Trying to decide if I want to come back to play WOW again. Basically the only activity I'm interested in doing is keystone dungeons. How much other stuff do I need to grind to do well in keys? My personal thoughts after skimming is it looks like most of the required/recommended essenses are gated behind some lengthy grinds of activities that are not keystone dungeons. Am I wrong on that?

Two of our M+ essences are fairly easy to obtain; one requires you to do the new mythic dungeon several times (for rank 3) and the other just requires you to do mythic+ for a few weeks (again, for rank 3). One of them does require you to level bodyguards in Nazjatar though.
