You'd always use before the ring, you will get it back on average 10-15 seconds before she casts it. Use it asap and stay in during ring, can stand in fire before she finishes so u don't get blocked

you would get 1 extra avatar if you always use before, 20 seconds for every ring adds up

If you don't feel comfortable doing that, stay in and leap out into fire like 1 sec or so before she finishes cast

@sand relic always use shield block charges first before you start using last stand or shield wall, you should be using your defensive cooldowns to fill gaps. You shouldn’t be going anywhere near death during shield block windows to justify using your defensive cooldowns.

You really should also use last stand before using shield wall as well

It’s probably our most powerful CD and you want it available as often as possible which means using it before shield wall

First things first..always pick what's fun for you to play..if you enjoy both of them then:
Prot warrior is a PROACTIVE tank meaning that you have to use your mitigation BEFORE the damage actually comes since you lack tools to recover by yourself if you mess it up. Warriors are really solid vs physical/blockable damage. Warriors also do a lot of uncapped AoE damage which is one of our strong points while not sacrificing ST damage/survival in the process.

Prot paladin is a mix of both Proactive and reactive..while you also use mitigation before the damage is taken you can still recover by yourself with HOTP/LOA if you mess up.
Paladins also offer a lot of group utility with their different blessings/heals etc and they have a talent that makes them really solid vs magic damage (Holy shield).

They are both fairly fast phased tanks to play and both can do any content thrown at you.

How many mobs are still alive and will they die before i die due to necrotic/lack of healing
Is there a place for me to actually kite/run away to without pulling extra stuff
Is there enough CC for me to actually be able to kite away

Theres also comp factor i.e do you have external tools to reset your stacks like BoP/treants etc

Treants are by far the best resetting tool this week since they have fairly short cd and allow you to dps for their durations while taking aggro from all the mobs where as ring of peace only blocks certain mobs and leaves you with a chance of getting your necrotic stacks refreshed

Just between same item lvl with different stats you can match em to what you prefer generally speaking haste and crit will edge out in mplus due to crit and parry interaction with multiple mobs reduces quite a lot of dmg where as raids it’s usually haste mastery=versa and crit but they’re incredibly close and aren’t worth dropping item lvl for to attain any in particular
