Well, to start with, just make sure you are doing the most important things as prot:
- Keep Shield Block up as often as possible when tanking mobs (even packs with casters will likely still be primarily blockable damage). You can do 3x SB>Last Stand>SB to get a pretty long period of uptime (about 39 seconds).
- Make sure to use Demo Shout and Avatar on cooldown.
- Use Revenge primarily when it's free (prioritize Ignore Pain for spending rage as long as you won't overcap it). Don't use Revenge (if it's not free) if it means you'll drop Shield Block or Ignore Pain.
Your haste is 14% base, which is fine. But you can get more from gems/enchants. Have to consider that you'll have Into the Fray too. Haste is our strongest defensive secondary because it reduces the base cooldowns of our spells such as Shield Block, helps us to generate more rage from melees, etc.

Do keys you're comfortable with while putting into practice what we have all told you. Log them and ask in here again so we can double check your work. Once you're comfortable with the easy stuff and you're doing things right, you can move into higher keys without feeling like you're a burden (which will take a lot of the stress off you)

If you're on voice then it would be easier to call interrupts - if not then it's harder. Can always ask them to interrupt in a order but more often than not it won't work. So just get a interrupt tracker and see when they've all wasted their interrupts so you know when to SR/Interrupt yourself

First boss is for your healer/DPS'ers to carry with smart CD usage and spot heals since it does almost no damage to you - tho grevious makes it harder since the healer has to heal the tank as well due to it.
Thrash after first boss is pretty easy in the miniboss room..no schenanigans there since most of it is blockable.
In 2nd boss room don't pull all of the blobs together unless you know your DPS'ers can cleave them down evenly (Fury warriors for example can hit only 5 targets etc).
Can pull 2 big constructs together there to one side when all the blobs are dead.
2nd Boss smacks even you pretty hard so watch for it. Position it smartly so you don't lock yourself in one side with the fire pools.
Trash after 2nd boss is a pain.
The first 2 casters if you grab aggro as they spawn you can SR both of their cast at the same time - other than that you gotta LoS & kite depending on your DPS'ers interrupts and the damage intake.
3rd boss is again a healer/DPS check since tank damage is pretty non-excistant on everything except the lightning one. There you gotta SR/Interrupt accordingly.
Miniboss before last boss is a pain but it's not fortified so it makes it easier - dump most of your rage into IP's and rotate CD's since you won't need them on last boss due to SB being broken.

have done a 13 KR in time (just) a few weeks ago with bolstering/explosive.
we always have deaths on the trash to the 3rd boss. I think just killing reaping on its own costs a lot of time so we have started to pull extra with it

Jeah, definetly - the bridge has killed many of our kills as well.
And reaping SHOULD be pulled with other packs. It does very little on it's own - especially if you have AoE stuns in Ret Pala + Shockwave.
You can play around with Shroud usage tho.
There's so much % in KR that if you just run by the dungeon you'll go over trash % pretty heavily.
We for example usually skip the big pack before 3rd boss room.

we are trying to death skip properly in some places. But i have aggro run, then when i die they just turn and slap everyone else. maybe the player shouldnt be close to the mobs when I die. I figured they would reset as I was the only one in combat but maybe if the mobs are still in aggro range after i die they'd switch before reseting.
I'm assuming if that's the case they are coded to do a aggro check before reseting

If you want to deathskip then be sure that only the person who's pulling mobs is near them. If you get anyone else near them they will aggro onto them.
So e.g to get into Atal 2nd boss room you as a tank run into the pack before the boss and then Heroic Leap to left side while everyone else waits for the mobs to follow you and then sneak in from the right side.
