However, when he tried doing this last night the boss would stop casting and continue meleeing him keeping his stacks up. Has this been seen before? i'm a prot paladin on the adds at the time. I've never had this happen to me when tanking the boss as opposed to the adds.

you should be using shieldblock as long as you are getting hit by remotely anything that's blockable

if you are going to get hit by a massive hit ( like the tank buster on groot on WCM)

you can hold it a few seconds because if you don't block that you will probably die

but you prefer to be blocking as many things as humanly possible
