Fortified guard packs can be really scary in waycrest bc shadow cleave hurts if you pull like 5 of them at once

a little late jumping here, but I got really lucky, and applied to a random +18 as a 1650 io tank, and the group was mostly over 2k. they weren't toxic, we all meshed well and we pushed keys all night. I ended up at 1950 we called it quits when the group had 3x KR +20, and 2x shrine +19. I've noticed the pug scene for keys higher than +17 has gone down significantly.

I've read the wowhead and icyveins guides on prot and I am struggling with damage taken. My ilvl is kinda low (384) and I'm still using 370 azerite from last season but I dont wanna blame that for being bad.

My opening is normally avatar, charge, shield block + clap, shout, clap, something, clap, etc. Trying to keep shield block up and refreshing IP as often as I have rage for it. Is there somethingn inherently wrong with how I'm opening? This was on a +12 and +8 atal
