The Questionably Epic Tips addon was nice for me when I was first starting, just to mouseover stuff quickly and get bottom-line "need to know" info per mob/boss, but I don't know if it's particularly up to date. Isn't specific to tanking in any case.

By overlapping tosses and tantrums you don't get as much time to let it recharge.
Furthermore the longer he tosses you, the more time the Healers have to heal you up - not to mention you have to stand up, too.

My dudes I came across a prot war that didn't have the avatar talent, had no idea what he was doing. It was like a +2 AD and just...just...idek...the one time I let a guildie tank for me and it's just atrocious. If I'm carrying now I insist on tanking, like a 400 ilvl tank or someone that needs a carry? xD can't carry as a dps if the tank is bad af. unless it's like a super low key I suppose you can just facetank it for a bit but still.

I've had some bad KR and SoB groups... a bad Cath run or two back in Legion on bad Tyrannical weeks. But the most nightmarish run I ever remember was a 2 hour Heroic Mana Tombs back in TBC. Between hitting the VW boss during his banish phase, not killing adds fast enough on Prince, and the Zul levels of trash throughout the instance....total nightmare. Way worse than any SLabs run ever was.

also as a newb to prot, im going for shield block when i have time to shield slam for extra dps, sometimes i see the higher hit of 15k or 24k dmg othertimes ill hit shield block and get a regular ole shield slam damage. whats with that? i have 6 seconds yeah, so i can reset shield slam up to 2 or 3 times before 6s wears off, or is there another faction possibly removing shield block early?

There's actually quite a few weapon options, check out loot lists and pick out the best one but try not to be picky at first. Although that's for m+ lol I don't really raid so no advice for ya there
SB should basically always be up unless you're fighting exclusively magic dealers (like the Zul add before the last boss in KR) then you'd just focus on IP
It takes a hot sec to get used to it, try to get a weakauras that tracks SB uptime

i did 3 weeks of carry, got some lucky gear even including the offspec 415 shield. my first m10 carry my friend was lke "oop got a surprise" and it was a 400 sharkspltter skull 2h, i looted chest , voila ther was a second one, later that week for chest i got a 410 weapon , 420 legs, 415 shield.

im not great with dungeons, so by that, m+ specifically. when BFA released, i took ~3 moths or so to get my first toon to 120. i wasmultibox farming herbs, ore. running hoofplates/stirrups on some toons. oddly enough every alt ive leveled up be it IE or timewwalk exp(basically 2 runs a level per) most haventeven visited zandalari because tiemwalk exp was so OP. was around 900k a run with draught, now jsut over 1m a run with draught/heirlooms. only 4 toons left and ill have 24 120s

ok real prot question, i dont have many trinkets. i have fathoms dps, knot of ancient fury(str and on use 752 crit 1min cd) and soulguard titanforged 395. 343str, equip chance when taking damage to gain soulguard absorbing 16,360 damage. im trying to look at skada for how useful it was total overall in 2 LFRs(again not the best place to test)
