Summary is - I have a 405 refracting prism (obviously wont sim great), a 400 socketed knot from ivus, a 395 mekka trinket, a 400 big red button, a 395 non-us vers pvp trinket, and a 385 gore crusted butcher block. Consistently the knot / button combo is out simming anything else

My instinct is to go with refracting prism + either knot, pvp trinket, or mekka trinket

actual answer: Eye, in raids, is nice but honestly if you're procing it there's probably other issues at play. I don't think it's too bad, personally, but niche trinkets like that are always divisive. Bandage's kinda stinks overall, so prism will take the cake on that imho. Alchemist has a 1ppm proc for a bundle of str. Bonus points if you actually bring and use potions

its hard because the default combat log doesnt show individual absorbs, just total

what I did to test was:

• set a baseline to see what the dummy hits you for
• write down what your IP cap is.
• write down shield amount
• fully stack IP
• Apply shield
• get smacked
• Observe remaining values in both IP and Shield

you should see both go down by the same value. in RP’s case, it depletes before a single point is removed from IP

bandages shows both going down by the same value

also make sure you didnt parry the hit/crit block it 😃

The throw has a cast time I believe, like 2 seconds. So as long as you have a decent reaction time, it should be fairly easy to get SR up in time.

Bastion hasn't ever been an overtly recommended trait for raiding to my knowledge. It's a good trait, but if you're filling in, you probably want to go more for the typical survival traits like Brace for Impact or Iron Fortress. The only trait you "need" is the first trait of Deafening Crash to increase your uptime of Demoralizing Shout.

Secondly, prot traits are extremely powerful that overshadow all general traits

That being said there are specific circumstances where you use it

For example I use it over my second dc because between prot war, dh and beast cleave we have enough dps
