The knot from darkshore boss is great for both damage and defense; increasing parry for thicker trash pulls is excellent.

Lion's is actually a better trinket if you just look at the on-use. It lasts for more of the duration of Avatar, and has a higher average crit buff. But, it has the downside of being a really awkward cooldown (1 min 45 seconds)

They do have an aggro table; I think they just have something different about them that makes them not interact with nameplates properly.

@dusky mica well the opulence trinket losses value if you completely stack it up, if it keeps going and going then you are continuously getting hps out of it for the entirety of the run and it gains value
Also the absorb ticks come faster with haste
The rezan trinket is overall very good thanks to how much it procs and the sheer amount of haste it gives
Even if it does not proc during avatar, it still makes your generate rage faster so your avatar comes back faster
Since we stack ilvl and most of the time we do not actually have a choice on how much haste we have other than enchants gems, OP and hoping our highest ilvl item of a given slot has haste on it, a haste proc is quite nice
Especially when you play a spec that (at least in mplus) almost doubles in effectiveness when a CD (reduced by haste) is up (granted you use 3xBoM)

As far as trinkets are concerned, the maximum defense trinkets are that in generally both scenarios. M+ has the side effect of being very scalar; you might get away with using a more dps oriented trinket (alchemy/gore block/Blood Vial)

For max defense you're looking at Jes and rezan. For a mix of offense/Defense you can use Rezan/Gore..or Rezan/RAGE.

I do some low level raiding and try and push M+ as far as I can. I haven't gotten a good push team and that's really the only way you're getting up into 2k's+
I honestly don't know why...I don't like jes's howler at all; but it's amazing. (I guess I just hate versatility as a stat? I dunno) and I love the RAGE engine ..mostly because it's so damn cool when you pop it.

For damage mitigation yes; it doesn't have the potential of adding tons of parries like a knot or goreblock but it is extraordinarily effective, consistent damage reduction. It's the Heal on hit every 6 second inner ring trait; only even better because it prevents damage and builds up while you're not in combat or at full hp. (not being hit)

WHen you're actually in the mix of combat we often are hovering at 40% haste mark from procs/ITTF etc. every 10 or so % I lose I can kinda' feel it. I can also feel it when it spikes way up from heroism/etc so infinite haste is what you want.

what I was saying about 'feel' when I have a ton of haste rolling and I can feel that my globals are hitting and cycling faster...everything is nice. When all those procs and stuff fade, and you're down to like 2 mobs or something..and you're back in the 20% haste range...it feels sluggish.
Basically; my little lightning icon comes up from my WA that Tclap is off CD..and it's one of the thumb buttons on my NAGA and however many times I can flutter my thumb before it actually casts (due to gcd timer) is the 'feel' when I can hit it like 3/4 times..trying to get that cast off the instant it's ready. Versus like 1 or 2 taps....feels so nice.
There's no way I'm the only dude that's mashing his demo shout key like 10 times during the GCD for it to actually become available... when I've got Heroism going and super high haste and it's like a quarter second or less..or whatever the minimum gcd timer is; I can feel it and it's nice.

There's no minimum amount of haste, just as there is no maximum - you simply want as much as you can get (while still prioritizing ilevel gains, of course).
Soft / hardcaps don't exist, or rather, a Haste hardcap would be so hilariously high that it's unreachable (and thus doesn't exist for any actual gameplay).

@mossy frost Swap earlier... you can easily do 8 stacks, but overall tank damage goes down with more frequent stacking, and it also reduces the risks of 20+ stacks if one tank gets stuck running bombs+ in a bot for a longer period. We went down to swapping on 5 and had no tank deaths after it.
