i mean the engaging gameplay provided from the choice. spell reflect also gave a big magic reuction, you have nelths fury to think about for big melee even if you didnt use it much, SW and demo shout did kind of the same thing. last stand could heal you to help you survive with time to give you an IP until the healer could get you up (now youre reliant on the healer because IP cant really save you like that). Kiting was also more of an option that it is now.
Now IP does a similar thing to shield wall and demo shout, block isnt as readily available, spell reflect doesnt have much magic reduction, last stand is part of the block rotation almost with bolster
and NL is gone

Kiting is the same as before, now every tank is 100% healer dependant, spell reflect works as in legion pre trait boost, last stand wasnt really a CD to give you time to use IP, shield wall is exactly the same and demo shout has a reduced cooldown.

I think blizzard's plan was for us to make a "meaningful decision" between IP talents/azerite traits and other (good) talents/traits. But it fell flat.
We'd rather have a shitty IP than be absolute shit overall

Just think of IP as a limited time, active stagger. I think in comparison with other tanks, the combo of IP and SB makes warrior the smoothest to heal tank right now.
And I totally dont see the GCD as a waste for IP, since you can get it in between cooldowns of SS and TC perfectly.

You should still be using IP with SB, just not frequently recasting over it like we used to.
if TC and SS are both on CD and you don't have a free revenge, IP is your best option for the GCD defensively.
