Got the mage tower down last night. Used bracers and SotBL maintained about 800-1mil dps in about 930 ilvl gear. Got knocked off a few times and charged back in or leaped back. I tried two times to completed this and got it on my second try. I actually used getting knocked off the ledge as a way to kite. This one was really fun and straight up the easiest of all the tanks I've done (all except monk). I kind of feel like twisting reflections SR is kind of the cheesiest thing but what ever. If they would have nerfed that it would have been much harder.

it's good on aoe because there's a lot of melees going out and you'll get full effect out of it

I think I'm kida hitting the tipping point between being able to get by playing re-actively versus having to be pro-active, and it's proving an interesting challenge. It's also laying bare the fact that I'm late to the game and so everyone knows the mechanics inside and out while I don't, and it's really hard to be proactive when you don't have a firm grasp of the mechanics.

Yep. I mean, at low-enough levels of play, you can be reactive and get away with it... At some point it catches up to you. I think I'm at that point. It's a great challenge (and that's a good thing for me). Suddenly a lot of the advice I read in here makes a lot more sense than it ever did previously.

This is kind of why we see some people in other classes struggling to keep up. If you take lets say a fury war and compare that same gear to an unholy dk if you have a player in that position that is having a hard time with dps on the unholy it's probably due to being reactive to the mechanics and not planning where he needs to be either movement wise or rotation wise throughout the encounter. I ran into this with a guildie. He was doing great dps on a war but his better geared dk was good rotation on pull but he dropped like a rock. It was in the end due to being reactive and not proactive in his planning and rotation.

I’m parroting others here, but the eye is pretty good, but not great. Most folks run the str mode, unless you really need the stam. There are more details in the defensive trinkets guide in the pins. Also dmd should be better for surv. Trinket choice can depend on the figjt
