Blood doesn't feel like it changes playstyle with low haste, it's just slower. To me prot suffers bad from low haste but I could be wrong

Well, prot definitely suffers from a mitigation standpoint, especially in M+ since you feel like you can't have SB up as much as you want. BDK just feels slower overall though, whereas prot can still do attacks and shit relatively normally. That's just how I feel though. Definitely a matter of perspective. Are you high haste on your DK now?

There are no % goals to reach for. The 100% mastery build is a meme that has very niche usefulness (and isn't necessary). If you have to choose between Mastery>Haste or Haste>Mastery, go Haste>Mastery (assuming equal ilevel)

Defensively, I doubt you'll get better survivability than the tier combo in this expansion unless you're talking like mythic T21 vs LFR T20. That being said, the need for the tier combo's survival is not always there and it can be better for balance/DPS to use 4pc T21 or 2pc T21+2pc T20 or just T21 2pc with high ilevel offset pieces.

At a certain point, you don't really need more than x survivability, but increased DPS could help kill a boss faster.

The good defensive trinkets are Apocalypse (Kin'garoth) and the armor trinkets (Diima's and Eye, possibly DMD if you don't have those at decent level). Aggramar trinket or legendary trinket very situational when you need a massive CD.
Pantheon trinket is one you will often use at least in raids for the raid wide proc (and it's a very high item level stat trinket at least), that's about it.

It's hard to say how valuable the tier combo is, we did a bunch of math, but nothing really conclusive. Marok said he was working on something but I haven't seen any results yet.
I'd say that it is quite overvalued at the moment. Yeah, it is best at equal item level, but I'd replace it at 20-30 item levels per item.
The reason is mostly that even though the combo might hold its own for healing required/damage reduction, it loses in EHP.

I hate to bring up the question from an hour ago about haste vs mastery, but I can't possibly be the only one who think it's pretty interesting that the top 2 prot warrs in M+ on raider.io, Mightycrixus stacked to like 52% haste, and the other, a Korean warrior, has like 90% Mastery. That's pretty cool, I think, that both seem to be working.
