My friend got a 5tb external drive a week ago. They moved their steam library onto that drive and made that drive their primary drive for steam to download games to. This was in the morning. Then in the evening they started having problems with their computer after they played a game on the drive. The next day they noticed the external drive couldn't be read. (they tried a different cable, didn't fix it) After a few days of the computer not being able to run applications (outside of Opera gx and discord) with the drive plugged in they asked for my help. I had them run Crystaldiskinfo and got the attached screenshot.
From what I can tell, this drive is not in good shape, but I don't know how to help them. Especially since they aren't the most technical person.
