Looking for help with budget Wilted Priest

Heya guys, I've been playing combo wilted priest without Chillin Vol'jin because I don't want to craft anything that won't survive rotation and even though the deck feels okay I'm trying to refine it as much as possible and I'd love some advice if anyone has some to give.

So in my version because we lack the deck thinning abilities of the fishing rod and the tutoring abilities of bird watching the thing that I found I needed most was more draw. The problem is that the draw available is either (a) too expensive for this kind of deck or (b) interferes with our resuscitate.

After lots of experimenting I settled on Prize Vendor for draw purposes. I think this guy works really well because in general giving your opponent more cards does not negatively impact you at all in this meta, it's cheap at two mana for two cards (with a delay), and comes with a little body that can help a bit on board. Yes he can ruin resuscitate, and it has cost me one game that I noticed where I lost a 50/50 and got him instead of annoy-o-tron, but I believe that the added consistency has probably been worth it.

I'm using Critter Caretaker instead of Tar Slime because it seems that even though slime is better off resuscitate, caretaker is better when played from hand. It can even act as an additional one mana heal on your combo turn, which has won me some games.

Caricature artist has felt surprisingly good, the body is small but noticeable, and getting the shadows is always needed. And I'm using rest in peace instead of Shaffar because it feels better in this version with fewer minion tutors. But I'm open to putting him back in if it turns out to work better.

It’s draw that doesn’t interfere with your res pool, and the body can take out a lot

There’s also spirit guide. It doesn’t pull wilted or anything, but it does tutor resuscitate

Fluttering guardian might seem odd, but it’s perfectly reasonable as well

Thank you for the feedback, I’m going to try the grub. I had dismissed it as a four drop that requires an extra mana to actually get the cards, but actually it would be nice to save hand room on the suitcase if I don’t need those two cards right away. Genius!

I did try spirit guide and didn’t like it at all. I went 1/1 with it and it felt clunky in my hand. It also can’t get the most important cards for me which are all minions

Without bird watching I have seen that careless crafter is the highest mull win rate it’s like +7

You all were right, the Shaffar build is way stronger. Also carry on grub feels really good
