what is
It's great it if you have multiple TVs in a house or other properties
The streaming stick, the only thing that stood out in the article
I'm not so focused on the cost personally
so..
what are you even saying
gamepass users don't need a streaming stick to convince them to stay lol
The article I shared, I was taking to Mumbles about it and some other stuff yesterday
I didn't say game pass users need that
I said it was nice
so
you think MS would just hand out this brand-new piece of technology just because it's "nice"
who's the evil corporation rn?
google is always the evil corporation
I didn't say anything of the sort though. I just like the idea of a streaming stick for games.
Plus it's not Stadia
ok
whatever
you agreed with the statement that the extra charge is a rip-off then tried to reinforce it with the claim that "MS doesn't care"
i guess you weren't arguing for that?
seemed like it to me
I said it's a bit of dick move but I I'll wait to see pricing
again
how is it a dick move?
the pricing will probably just be a extra small fee on top of the already existing gamepass pricing
otherwise it would be cheaper to just buy the hardware
what a dumb interesting argument ๐
Yeah
i don't understand how you think giving gamepass users hardware with a price is a dick move but whatever
Only if it's like mobile/cellular stuff
i'd need a statement by both of you ๐ฎโโ๏ธ
Because people get ripped off
What did I do boss? @full pivot
Been a long time since I got in trouble with the police
nah just to understand what the discussion is
yes but i came in late haha
Just taking a look at MS new idea of a streaming stick
ms apparently plans to put it on TVs with a streaming stick
stick?
like a USB
I've been using Remote Play a lot recently too
It's stadia for consoles.
Probably HDMI with USB power
Or is it just for streaming?
But just an assumption
xcloud is game steaming
well stadia already sucks for me cuz my internet doesn't allow for streaming things on that level
So you still need the xbox to use it
Stadia just sucks
yes
i think creating an infrastructure for good internet would be a good first step yknow
I'm lucky I have good internet here
anyways
I paid through the nose abroad though
the fellas over at MS are thinking of adding a new tier to the already existing xbox gamepass
so they have this really good internet in what was it
like a platinum tier
Estonia/Croatia
Croatia is beautiful
i can't remember
man are you even listening
no cuz its text
Scandinavia has really good internet but we all need to be on Korean level internets
ok are you reading it
I am
no i was making my own point excuse me
well anyways
we are discussing if it's a dick move to have that tier or not
i don't think it is but nate does
ok new tier to gamepass
yes
I don't feel that strongly about it
to stream games?
Just an FYI
so you get the hardware for free for signing up for a higher tier membership
What do you get for the new tier...an xbox streaming stick that costs less than $30 to manufacture...?
for subscribing to that higher tier, yes
@dry copper again it's promising future hardware as well
and it probably isn't going to be substantial
that's a gamble that i wouldn't take
it could also be nothing if they change their minds
Ultimately, the technology to do it without buying a new tier already exists.
it is probably going to be nothing
sounds like something they wouldn't be able to upkeep very well
but if they were to somehow make it work then it would not be a dick move
They mentioned that we may see lower hardware pricing which is great.
@dry copper what do you mean
Lots of people stream gaming from consoles.
Again, xcloud is its own thing
the streaming stick is for xcloud
You already have access to xcloud without a streaming stick.
not on a tv, no
Yes on tv. Use a google chrome stick.
You beat me
It's literally transmitting the signal from the xbox to the tv
Damn you Mumbles
what is a google chrome stick
It runs Chrome OS
The point is, because it uses android, any device that can interface with the OS can be used with chromecast
it just streams your device onto your tv?
It can use HDMI or bluetooth to stream to your TV, to your computer, to anything connected to the hub
I had the Asus Chrome thing too
Technically you can use it to stream to other peoples tvs that don't have locks on them ๐
the streaming stick isn't for streaming devices onto the tv
Worked pretty well, need to dig it up and try Remote Play on it
it just puts xcloud onto the tv
That sounds like a gimmick...A deliberate middle man where it's not necessary. Are you trying to say you can not connect to xcloud right now?
Ah
unless i can do it from my pc with an emulator
I have only tried on my phone and Shield TV
also
you don't need a google chrome stick or whatever to display your device on your tv
that's something you could do far before that came out
In any case, I think the streaming stick is a good idea IF and only if, they structure it around making streaming both easy and enjoyable for console gamers. The only opportunity I see for this technology is bringing people into streaming who are not otherwise tech savvy, but would be awesome content creators otherwise.
Didn't they already add an xCloud solution for Windows 10?
also the entire purpose of the platinum tier is to make xbox products cheaper
err
what are you talking about mumble
It could lead to xbox partnering with twitch or some other streaming platform to plug their service as more mainstream
I see. I thought it was streaming gaming not just playing games via a stream.

Steve!
well that's awkward
@shadow tartan they didn't have a problem with win10?
it's ios they have issues with
Who doesn't tho
I remember some months ago they were testing xCloud on Windows 10 but I didn't look into it more
maybe? i've never heard of that
there will be a win10 version but it's not available yet
really only for android still
i remember some years ago i played assassins creed odyssey on google's game streaming experiment
i played it in my browser
stream quality was shit but it was pretty cool
eventually it turned into stadia
didn't really know about stadia until a bit after whenever i looked up the experiment again
Yeah nothing new on Win 10 xCloud, that's a shame
I knew about Stadia, they had jobs going for it here in London
i'm sure they're focusing on their main target right now
ios
apparently they're going to do it via web browser
And then they acquired people and you never see anyone using the hardware
did stadia do that well
Not in my opinion
I also remember it from the browser tests
Now it just seems a bit overhyped with not a lot to offer
Whilst Shield TV has been out since 2015 and can do what Stadia does and more
It's great to see big titles in their adverts but is that all it is?
ah so the xcloud streaming stick is going to be like the google chromecast ultra
but probably not a failure
Chromecast Ultra is cool if you don't have Android TV
I'm going to get one to mess around with because I use Android TV a lot now
well that's the hardware you use for playing stadia on tvs
Yup
Sorry my mistake I mean the new Chromecast with Android TV
i forgot all about these things
Yeeeeah
i remember quite a few people building them
It runs the Android TV OS
yes but it's like chromecast ultra in that regard
is it not?
i don't use either
i mean i just assumed that
because on the product page (https://store.google.com/product/chromecast_google_tv_compare?gl=us)
Compare Chromecasts and discover which one is right for your home entertainment needs.
ultra is not here
replaced with chromecast google tv
and at a similar price
but i don't really know
Chromecast receives a stream from a device but the one with TV runs the OS
i meant the ultra
To play Stadia on Chromecast Ultra, you'll need: A Chromecast Ultra A Stadia Controller A Stadia account A TV An internet con
you can play stadia on it
so
i don't think it's just that?
anyways
it seems pretty similar to the xcloud stream stick
in concept
The gestures and commands come from the controller similar to how it streams from mobile
except xcloud is probably going to be way more popular
Two different devices though
One is just for XBOX
The Google TV device will work with majority of apps and if it's not a TV app you can sideload it
That's how it works currently
i meant in the game streaming sense
That will come down to their infrastructure
Like when Sony bought Gakai
To provide the service for PS Now
So if it's as good as it is now then all good
considering that all gamepass users will be able to use it fine
it will probably be popular
oh yeah also the xbox remote play guide is a bit annoying
i was going to try it out but despite the website saying you only need ios 10 or greater
you need at the very least ios 12.2 i think?
something after ios 12
i got baited
by microsoft
Was it you that had issues updating their iPhone?
I remember you said you Jailbroke it again
yes i jailbroke it to do some things before wiping it
Having an Android device is handy
I always have an Apple device that's reasonably up to date too
I have quite a few but it was checking some app optimisation stuff
Got some old tablets I need to get rid of though
It's also a hobby of mine ๐ฌ
it took me a few hours to find a jailbreak that worked
most of it either didn't work or was paid
i also came across one that was laughably fake
eventually i got it to jailbreak with electra
which is a different jailbreak than the one i used earlier (unc0ver), but all i needed was root access so it works
Hopefully we can cast these shackles aside and let them give us the implant
Then WE can have the software updates
Nothing could possibly go wrong then
I will?
Should I be scared?
Oh it's a channel that I must complete attunement for
i mean this is the most appropriate channel for this topic that i have unlocked
My friends and I love(d) NMS but after 100 hours we're ready for a break. Not permanent mind you. Just something to change up the pace. Our favorite part of NMS is how chill it is. After a long day of working from home sometimes we don't have the mind for an intense shooter or deep strategy. NMS fit that bill perfectly. Does anyone have any recommendations of other games that are low-brain but also not boring as hell?
dark souls is a very relaxing game
Funny
Though after you learn to block before attacks, Dark Souls can be pretty low-brain ๐
its just a deep talk no politics channel that people ruined for ya
you should probably make the channels a bit lower level
I agree, but it's also not coop
i will open the philosophy channel to everyone
We tried Cities Skylines Multiplayer Mod. It was... awful
and the moment someone fucks it up
CS is good. But the mod... noty
that person will be muted for an extended period of time and warned
i personally would keep such channels open for everyone
but whatever floats your boat
go ahead
alright i'm opening them
ok i opened #no-ones-philosophy you're welcome
i have a feeling you'll be the first to make me regret this
i don't talk philosophy so i won't be in there
good
ha
Close to home
Helloween โ Pink Bubbles Go Ape is available to order now

๐ ๐
The philosophy channel was moved?
Confused.
computer man ruined it
I doubt that.
I need a new earwig...This song is going to drive me insane
Quick, someone drop a song that's super annoying that I won't get out of my head
uh uh uh gimme a sec
Wait wait why did the channel close??
....Not wormy enough

today anyway
Woot. My computer exceeds the recommended requirements for Cyberpunk 2077. I'm psyched
nice
Been playing Fo76 lately...This AI is jank af
enemies fire through walls, choppers fly into buildings but forget to explode...
It's just a colorful nightmare
It's not difficult tho
would be nice if they'd make it offline/solo. Much of what I've seen of it makes the map look pretty fun to explore
Imma finish playthrough B of Nier Automata today, then imma start the third one
@dry copper The funny part is that chopper issue happened back in Fallout 4 too ๐
well it is the same ol' creaky engine
but even if it weren't, it's not like Bethesda's known for fixing much
did i see something about them 'overhauling' their game engine for Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield?
they kinda say that for each new game tbh
And for what it's worth, it's usually somewhat true
ah imma be honest the only Bethesda game I really dug into was Skyrim
They said this is the biggest overhaul they've done since Morrowind to Oblivion
If it's like Skyrim or Fallout 4, may mean even fewer RPG options
oh geez
I'm still bummed about them tossing out spellcrafting kinda stuff
I think Oblivion still had that, but it was dropped with Skyrim
At some point I should download one of those big overhaul mods for Skyrim or something
Yeah Oblivion had it
Oblivion's was nerfed tho
I didn't get far in Morrowind cuz everything being determined by computerized dice rolls in a first-person RPG is a hard pass for me

I didn't get far in Morrowind cuz everything being determined by computerized dice rolls in a first-person RPG is a hard pass for me
@austere lance yet you went through KotoR...Not sure how third-person makes it better but ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Cuz KotOR doesn't do weird stuff like give you a shield that you can't actually control. In Morrowind you block automatically (or don't) depending on your Block level. It's stupid
In KotOR you can just slap on an energy shield and it'll absorb X amount of damage for you
lol
whatever the case, i do tend to agree, dice-rolly systems in active gameplay are annoying
It looks dumb in Morrowind to have a shield in your left hand that you don't actually control
It looks silly in any game to be right by an enemy and miss
goddamn ordinators
They had the decency to animate/sound it as a bounce rather than a miss
So apparently Immortals: Fenny Rise has a free demo available...Through Stadia, lol
ting ting ting
Anyway, morrowind spellcrafting let you do things like sphere of unlock
Does that just unlock things, lol?
Cuz Alteration has a bunch of unlocking spells ๐
And enchanting let you do dumb things like permanent 100% chameleon
Yeah, under the point value
Basically invis but it doesn't break when you hit things
Also permanent levitate
Which was... not as great as it sounds
My fav. was ppl improving their athletics to the point they could just hop around the map, lol
As in, literally leap from town to town or whatever
Yes
If you make a permanent version of the scroll of icarian flight, you could usually get a snack before landing
Hmm, trying to figure out how to search for Minecraft mods that let you either set up devices or direct villagers to build stuff for you, lol
Not exactly what I was after, but this looks super useful:

Hey if anyone wants to play some Among Us, feel free to message me
@austere lance translation: if you delete your Facebook account, your Facebook VR account dies too?
@austere lance ugh. I absolutely refuse to link Oculus to facebook.
I would sooner smash the oculus rift with a god damn hammer
I would not have purchased oculus at all if I knew they were going to go this top heavy on social media linking.
I hope that the Vive and Index don't go that route
Unfortunately the moment FB acquired Oculus, the writing was on the wall for this BS
In terms of trust with VR, for me, Facebook is pretty low...With HTC at the top, followed closely by Valve.
Don't you have to log into your Oculus with Facebook?
just found the Minecolonies mod for Minecraft that seems to do a decent part of what I'd like, but not sure about the whole raids/tending to villagers aspects, lol
Looks like you can disable raids, but not sure about the tending to villagers part
Increasingly thinking what I'm more after is like a voxelbuilder w/ robots to construct your designs, lol
Final boss of Nier Automata ending B, let's gooooooo
good luck
RIGHT THROUGH THE BRAIN, GET WRECKED
ooh, Autonauts looks very much up my alley ๐
It's like a cutesy Factorio where you teach bots to set up your production chains
The main characters in Automata without their eye-coverings look weird
I'm just so used to seeing them with their eyes covered now
Thanks for pointing that mod out leon. I just got back into minecraft after many years away. Still looking up mods
Reminds me that life isnโt fair but people go on
Very true ๐ฅบ
Makes me want to be blue smoosh but Iโm not at my computer
I guessed some of the things
@glass plinth np, i think i kinda like effortless building & building gadgets more, even if they don't achieve the same kinda thing i was looking for
I do too, but having it modded in looks a tad too clunky for my tastes, hence liking the look of Autonauts over that
Ahhh
(not a mod, but a separate, full game)
Hey, since your in mc as well, can you get summerfields texture mod working?
Or is it just me and I cant?

Yeah
Summerfields is the only one I love
It changes the game entirely
Every little aspect is so... beautiful
But thats just my taste lol
@austere lance how you liking playthrough 3? D:
Absolute fuckin warzone rn
YAA
I was not ready for it and ended up bringing a lot of Large health restores lmao.
got my ass beat ๐ญ
I got curious about why Subnautica: Below Zero has been a little rough
apparently their voice acting studio closed because of lockdown stuff in the UK. that would definitely hinder things
I just want it to go to console... but it won't until it's officially v1.0
Im not exactly surprised its rough
THey explained they arent just porting over assets and remaking a new subnautica based off the bones of the old game
More or less this is a different game engine, partly
So itll be rough, just like the first
Plus side, we saw how the first turned out after years
they mostly have the game itself done, there's some polishing and the story needs finished the rest of the way. but the voice acting seems to be the main issue based on what it says on their website
this was all said in May but not a lot has changed in the world between then and now as far as closed stuff goes
Did Subnautica ever sort out its performance funk? I think I remember there being an update to try to help some more with that...
it mostly works
I'm sure it's smoother on things more badass than our one-s
it's jsut.... sad, on there
S0ul & Spirit mentioned really long load times, and there are other reports around about performance tanking
my main file takes half an hour to load on our console. and occasionally the environment decides not to load in properly
it lags when surfacing too
About to say, thought I remembered environment load-in issues
Yeah, for me, I never experienced that. However, running on 32gb ram, ssd and such
So that probably has a lot to do with it
probably
one day, I'll have a decent gaming PC. not that I'm picky about what I play on, but there's some stuff I would just rather experience on PC sometimes
Mines old
4690k
I just upped my gpu to a 5700xt
and added 16gb more ram
Lol
As long as I upgrade my cpu in the next 3 years im good
my "pc" is a refurbished gaming laptop from 2009 lol
it works for less intensive games like Stardew Valley. I'm pretty sure if I tried to put Win10 on it, it would literally explode
that's kinda how my current laptop is tbh
I tried to upgrade it to windows 10 and apparently the touchpad drivers and Function key things don't work nice with Windows 10
so I had to roll it back
RIP
I'm a boomer and think computers are annoying, hence me gaming on console ๐
though mine was a 'new' laptop in like 2012-2013 haha
I grew up playing on pretty much everything
I got it around the time Skyrim came out, I can play it on there mostly x)
I dunno if skyrim would run on this or not. I usually just get smaller games. I don't want to overwork the poor thing too much
between not being able to afford PC stuff, and not having anywhere to even put one right now, I kinda just need to be content with the laptop or the xbox
If you ever do build one, let me know
I can help you make a mini pc
Small form has come a long ways over the years
I never considered a mini one, for some reason. I'll keep that in mind

Anybody wanna play a minecraft server? 1.16.3 Java edition! (Already have the nether, but you don't have to join my base)
IP is; hopeforcaves.serv.nu
@glass plinth at my work we use NUCs for heavy lifting of files
oh wait theres server suggestions-- shoudl this go there aswell? (The bad grammar in it is intentional)
No gpu but itโs the size of an Apple TV
the server suggestions is for suggestions of changes you'd like to see to the discord server
this would be the right place to ask if people wanna play minecraft, no worries
@winter yew I just ||activated A2||
nice
As far as mini computers go
I typically use custom mini cases, a bit like a console case. Then i use top end graphics card and upper lower teir cpus
So a typical one now would be say a 3600, 2070 mini, 32 gb ram and a tb ssd
Cost ya maybe 900 usd
not bad, considering
Yeah, they also tend to be fairly sturdy
I mean the options for configurations vary too. You can get it for cheaper
I should specify, that computer is beastly really, for standard 1080p
seems like something to definitely look into
So I just looked into Autonauts some more and whoa, it's continued to see updates since release. Never know whether that will be the case with indies like it
Also saw where The Colonists has continued to receive updates as well
@winter yew I just got to the first opportunity to ||switch from A2 to 9S so I chose 9S||
||dont worry you'll get to replay all the stuff later if you wanna see what happens if you choose the other||
I fought the ||big-ass thing in the desert as A2 and just woke up 9S and talked to the weird healers||
@cinder vessel I was surprised to see itch version of A Short Hike getting updates
*still
Unsure
oh nice, uncertainty!
Oh hey, just advertise directly to whales?
lmao, in Autonauts apparently you give your bots shoes to make them move around faster.
yeah, you do. lmao
Nier automata is a great game
Fuck, I got drawn into Autonauts. Something about trying to get those bots somewhat self-sustaining is entrancing
Instead of working to upgraded memory in basic bots, I spent some time figuring out the best I could get within the limited memory. There's a surprisingly decent amount you can do within the basic bots' limits.
However, still find yourself needing 2 basic bots for harvesting & gathering respectively.
Interestingly tho I was able to get a basic bot to retrieve resources, craft desired item, & deposit some of that item into storage then loop that whole process.
๐
๐
lol the childhood version of my character looks ridiculous
Nice hat ๐ฌ
what game is that?
crusader kings 3?
mount and blade 2
hmm
Is it as great as sekiro?
People are mind-blowing, I'm talking to a bunch of PCMR people in a server who refuse to play Bioshock Remaster because of this one comparison pic
Remaster is on the left, original PC release is on the right
They're mad cuz "MUH REFLECTIONS"
tell them its called bumpmapping
Blame Feral /s
what a stupid reason to not play a game
that single screen is pretty bad though lol, like the only thing that looks better imo is the railing since it has shadows applied more properly
but yeah wouldn't stop me from playing the game
and seeing things in motion is usually different

They actually sent her one, LMAO
Snoop Dogg has one too
His is full of gin and juice, lol
i actually cant even find a good comparison that makes the remaster look better than the original at all, looks like the changed a lot of the interesting textures
kind of a bummer
I played through it and had a good time
okay lol.. i didn't say anything about the experience. just weird that it's called a remaster, though I suppose that doesn't necessarily imply better textures
it was free for people that owned the existing games anyway tho so not like it's a buy in for anyone who likes the old stuff
It definitely looks and sounds better than the original while you're playing, screenshots and dumb little marketing clips don't do it justice
My only issue was no shooting while using Plasmids
well it has better lighting in some ways and the meshes seem updated, most of the details that are worse are things most people probably don't care about. just weird that they were changed or touched in the way they were imo
but yeah they didnt' fix bugs or anything between versions lol
not that i would've expected that in a remaster necessarily
Guns+Plasmids combo was why I always like Bioshock 2 better than 1 ๐
Plus 2 had a much better hacking minigame
2 was really good, i liked it more than 1 for sure
most things in 1 were kinda clunky honestly lol, obviously super fun at the time it came out tho
still fun now but not as smooth as i remember
also yeah those pipes suck lmao
better than the new Deus Ex games' hacking stuff though, not that that's a high bar.
I laughed so hard when I first played Infinite and it had zero hacking ๐คฃ
i really liked infinite, but didn't have the same vibes as the first two for obvious reasons lol
When I smacked a vending machine with that one Vigor and it crapped out stuff I damn near died, I was like "IT ONLY TOOK YOU THREE GAMES TO GET THE MESSAGE"
idk why but I read deus ex as "deus engineer" for a sec
dong engineer
biosplat
better than the new Deus Ex games' hacking stuff though, not that that's a high bar.
@bronze wind wha, new Deus Ex hacking > Bioshock pipe game any day imo, lol
I don't even remember how you hack in the new Deus Ex games
in Human Revolution it's like a sort of node control minigame as I recall
You try to take over nodes to get to the target without setting off security, but they tempt you with rewards for hacking side nodes so you're balancing out whether you hack more than needed or just go for the target
space jellyfish things
@bronze wind it's a text game. I'm not sure how it can be uglier or nicer
As long as the font is ok
Why bioshock infinite feels different: it's a theme park action FPS, whereas older Bioshocks are RPG/FPS
Well, further anyway
@cinder vessel I just hate the chance based approach. Sure you can upgrade to reduce but it's just not very fun when there's random chance applied. I'd rather have a mini game that scales with the level of node
That's basically Dues Ex
And what do you mean "text game" lol
Well, the originals
Rogue is made entirely of text and punctuation.
...oh, you meant the pc remaster image
Oops
I don't remember having as much trouble with the chances in it, but yeah, I get that
You said it right after my rogue screenshot and I'm a goof
It's not that it was necessarily trouble, but if you don't spec into hacking security right away you deal with like 45% chance detection in a network that has like 5 nodes to the last and a 15 second countdown
You can use items to help but it's just not as satisfying when it's RNG until you max out the tree
That's honestly the only part I hate though, the rest is good. I was def being hyperbolic when complaining about it before lol
knowing me i probably went for upgrading my hacking abilities ASAP
I do as well because otherwise it sucks
But one issue is I feel like most areas with low hacking requirements have like 10 other points of entry
It's not until you get to stuff like rooms with lvl 5 access or safes that it becomes even more annoying if you haven't maxed out
Very thankful for multitools at least
yeah, that game has a lot of curious balancing acts it tries to play
I do love them though, been playing through mankind divided this past week actually
stealth gunplay is so fun
I always go for skills that provide new options over stat increases or combat variety
It gets me in trouble with Bethesda games ๐
i don't bother with non lethal, silencer on a pistol + headshots works for most areas unless they're armored lol
yeah it's sort of an issue in this game as well, you can be a "jack of all trades master of none" type of person and then have a lot of trouble getting past optional obstacles
Well, the trouble comes up when combat is forced
True. That's definitely a thing in Deux Ex but the weapon advancement is completely separate from the augmentation/skill tree part
If a game has a lot of social/technical methods to solve problems without fighting, so speccing into noncombat stuff is very helpful, but then forces a head-on fight...
I usually have a bad time.
Aside from a few upgrades like recoil reduction and tagging targets, which aren't necessarily that important for boss fights
Apparently the DE reboots patched in alternative solutions for boss fights
There are definitely more sneaky/technical solutions for bosses
On release there were flat-out forced boss fights
Like luring them close to explosives or using specific items
yeah i honestly didn't notice the difference cause I always go lethal with very little care for stealth lol
it probably would be, i just absolutely suck at stealth and also forget to save all the time lol
I liked how the first game handled it, where nonlethal methods generally rewarded nonlethal supplies
Getting more stunner ammo, etc
Which was the first reboot?
human revolution
second was mankind divided
Because the AI is hilariously stupid
yeah super strength is super useful early on
I have a screenshot of me hiding behind a vending machine I moved to the middle of the hallway
lmao
The guard just sorta staring at it
i wanted to sneak past a guard who was in front of a laser grid
i had the remote hacking perk so i disabled the grid using that
Did you trick him into walking into it
then walked up next to him and crouched, moved into the restricted area so he'd move a little bit, then when he settled he for some reason had no idea where I was even though I was crouched literally 2 feet diagonally in front of him
so i just walked by and he didn't notice
I did a similar thing in Divinity.
Used telekinesis to move large objects between guards and things I wanted to pick
lol smart
Hmm, why did that painting move off the wall and stand in front of the safe? Eh, probably the wind.
couldn't possibly be anything else
if you want to know the extent my lethal playthough goes to, even when i knock people out with a takedown i always shoot them in the head until they're dead after with a silenced pistol
I do love how when you enter sneak mode in that game, you pull out a crate or barrel to walk around in
yeah that was funny to me as well lol
It has the side benefit of making it very very obvious when you're in sneak stance
definitely good for an isometric game
Avoids the hmm, is my character crouching or is that an animation?
never though of it that way honestly, kinda neat
that looks like something i'd see if antichamber ever got expanded upon
Antichamber.. another game I'll probably never finish as some of those puzzles confused me
i was trying to decode between days gone and ghost recon breakpoint and ultimately decided...neither
from what i've heard about it, getting breakpoint would've been a bad move either way, if its the latest one that they tried turning into a live service
Manifold Garden is where the screen is from :3
its beautiful
so today so far ive played MTG, explored mc escher world, built a space empire of ancient machines, and failed to defend a castle against a 250 man army ๐
Manifold Garden โค๏ธ
the fuck is manifold garden
a great puzzle game with a cool aesthetic
later imma try out FAR: Lone Sails too
Onward with Nier Automata C/D
FUCK MY LIFE, died and lost 20 minutes of progress
sounds like death already took care of that ๐
I never usually has difficulty with those I think
Then again you're practically invincible once you have the auto use potion chip

YES, FIRST HELL TOWER BEATEN
FIRST???
IIRC the first tower was a real pain in the ass
Yeah maybe it gets better
9S, assuming you're playing as him, sucks at combat anyway
Hack your way to the top babey
Yep
Blep! How is everyone
Also, Im curious where that video was recorded
Sea grass like that isnt exactly common anymore
Excited for this Early Access title

Fun so far
I burnt out trying for big fancy things before the basics
Even making it so scripting/controller bits can be placed on moveable panels is a surprisingly great improvement
Having control drawers we can open and close
Or a seat control that moves with it
Changing geometry of the engine layout adjusts maneuverability
@charred badge Youve played starship evo?
I purchased it largely based on the community.
Game looks fun. Community is good.
Community is key to these sorts of games imo
Yeah
I have SS in here somewhere
Notably, it has a flexible symmetry tool that only breaks on moving parts.
And docking functions
Someday I want to do shenanigans with a flight capable shuttle/escape module that can fly the main ship without getting out of the seat

I'm awaiting this opinion on my favorite movie
No pressure ๐
You are the devil.
I am
I mean I personally don't care if anyone likes it haha
won't change my feelings on it
Well, I liked it nevertheless, okay, maybe a little less, but itโs a great film.
If it's the science stuff; my area of focus in astrophysics was black holes so say no more
Haha well it wasnโt BH
Altho we can bicker over whether planets circling a black hole would be ripped to shreds, the most annoying scenarios is how humanity got to the future in the first place.
Well I welcome you to any time travel story ever told; first one I experienced was Terminator
and they never work
If McConaughey needed to communicate secret of love to his daughter through library book code, to save humanity, how did that future race come to exist to begin with?
I could get into non-linear time and dimensions but I'll just say its a fair criticism
Haha, well, it actually doesnโt take the fun out of the movie for me, but I cannot ignore continuity and contradictions of scientific facts. I donโt mind it, but canโt unsee it heh.
Thena, I am treading on thin ice here and having to rephrase every sentence rofl.
I mean I watch and love Star Trek and the "science" in that is so preposterous it's actually funny sometimes
Though they did spoof themselves on tech talk once and its one of my favorite scenes too cuz its very much like "Turbo Encabulator"
i just can't find it on YT
Okay, then I shall skip over where they send whatsherface into a planet they know affects time, and completely forgot that she hasnโt been sending signals for years, itโs only been 30mins.
but then you wouldn't get the cool superwave and that dramatic scene
if she remembered
True, very true.
How about that no one gave a shit about Cooperโs son Tom?
Like whatever happened to him.
Also there was like zero training. They just need to take off the next day and decided to make him Captain, he then, even not being a scientist, just knew that the dust on the ground was important.
@thorn dawn you rock
Firomactal Drive!
you may know physics better than me but I know trek ๐
and this is the other thing ๐
This is the first time Turbo Encabulator was recorded with picture. I shot this in the late 70's at Regan Studios in Detroit on 16mm film. The narrator and writer is Bud Haggert. He was the top voice-over talent on technical films. He wrote the script because he rarely underst...
In the same vein
@crimson kelp sorry didn't mean to interrupt but i also gave you an out ๐
i see ๐
Let's try one of these in #401847751249362945
Dammit, Reddit ruined it
Attached a stupid watermark
@full pivot haha, nope, my heart wasnโt in it anyway. Also told Red not to scroll.
Not that there was much of a rant anyway.
Was watching your video, funny.
Altho donโt think they use lunar wane shafts anymore. Even low influx shafts fail to accurately calibrate grammeters.
tangentially: how many of you have seen Birdemic: Shock and Terror
Nope
DescriptionA sexy lingerie model and a successful software salesman go on a weekend getaway to a quaint northern California town.
Sounds errr ๐
hold on!
there's a challenge to watching it and i was thinkin' if anyone wanted to do the Birdemic challenge
Linear or semi vertical high flux novashaft usage is far more cost effective and calibrates the grammeters to the thousandth of a joule.
we could have a watch party
Could do. Starting when?
Wow I really need to type faster on the phone rofl.
You get bronze if you make it through the opening credits, silver for halfway, and gold for the whole thing
Is the challenge "Try not to cry laughing while witnessing the spectacular special effects"
idk when i wanted to measure interest ๐
So is this for just not rage-quitting the viewing or
Tricky tricky
Woah romantic horror.
RoHo
Birdemic is uh, something
Need some rioja w/ that.
Fancy
its not really rage enducing i don't think
just so bad that you'd have better things to spend time on
Lol
Sorry I just have to say I like this ED shot, and I wish NMS could have in-cockpit shots like this

i genuinely keep forgetting Rust is a thing
oh whoa, it actually left Early Access?!
I was convinced it was one of those forever in Early Access titles
yes it left early access
@cinder vessel In name only, lol. It's still the same
"Please try not to compare the game to some other finished game or some idealised version you have in your head," said Newman, "Compare the game now to how it was when we entered Early Access. That's the delta that we feel qualifies us to leave Early Access. Think of it more like we're leaving Prototyping and entering Alpha."
๐
LMFAOOOOOO
I am really tired of this trend in games
It's moves like this that make me just ignore Early Access altogether
Me: "When will your game be done?"
Dev: "When is ~anything~ ever done, maaan?"
Me: "Welp, moving on then."
Early Access has become a way to release the game early while delaying any sort of real progression by slapping the title "in development" on it
I mean, it's not always the case but still
Feels like a lot of games end up rushed and half-finished, then they throw it out as "Early Access", so that they have an excuse for all the bugs
The main thing is that there's no way to know if they're actually gonna fucking finish the game when they do that
The only Early Access I've seen actually working is Grounded's. It's been pretty fun to watch, every month they drop one big content update then refine it til the next big one. Player input is a huge part of it too, they do QOL patches and tweaks in-between big updates based on player info.
They just opened up a testing server people can join too, so people can check out and help find issues with new content before it drops
THAT'S how you do Early Access
Well, to be honest, the cost to develop a game has expotentially gone up. As the costs go up, standard production cycles become increasingly difficult. If a company wants control over its release, they require EA or otherwise they end up becoming dependent on larger studios which force them to develop games at a pace and manner which isnt befitting the project
its all about money in the end
Personally Id rather have a Early access game of larger scale games, then the alternatives.
Now large scale studios making early access games to milk money, that irritates me.
One of the best cases for early access I got to try was Rimworld.
Absolutely understandable the game took so long to develop, also they needed the money to develop the game.
@thorn dawn ha, you donโt want to know how many hours I have played it.
Also, very much a masochist.
It's a balancing act, without a doubt, however I can't help seeing next to no reason to move on from Early Access if you're still more or less in prerelease development stages.
That's what gets me more than anything, because the moment you do that, whether you mean to or not, you're being completely fucking misleading about the state of your game.
You drop the Early Access/In Development label, I expect the game to be in something resembling a standard release state, not alpha or beta. If you continue to develop a game afterward with free content updates, cool, but I don't expect that from any release state game.
You donโt have what it takes!
Lol
Hehe. Okay, gonna play NMS now.
Tbh a company I would be very curious to see dabble with Early Access, even though it would probably backfire, is Bethesda.
Automata
kinda should do a bit of work
Wow, torn between quite a bit.
make my decisions for me
NMS, ez
Eh, I never would play a Bethesda game in EA, though now that its owned by Microsoft.. not sure
Bethesda never releases a functioning game
Nah, just updated. Had a shitty day at work.
ever
That's why I'd be curious to see them try Jahnri, lol
Would Early Access help Bethesda release something more functional for a change? Probably not, but it would be nice if it helped
Nah, just updated. Had a shitty day at work.
2nd half is a mood :/
Honestly, decent games making their way through Early Access are a little more of an exception than the rule, at least imo. Albeit I am very much aware of a good number of decent games making their way through it
Oo I want some of that chromatic trail!
