her actual bow is fine though its awful to play on mobile
I get out of ch. 1 and then do something dumb & get killed in ch. 2
Hrmm, yeah I use a controller with my cell
lmao yeah Leon
90% of my deaths were me being a little too adventurous
and 10% just finding out "oh fuck this enemy is too hard I need to recou- oop dead"
"Hey new enemy, I should try to take them without sufficient healing items this will be fine"
I decided when i played genshin I needed a console controller that worked with cells, cost me 10 bucks at the dollar store. Little wireless thing
Worked amazing.
THen, I streak my video from my cell, to my monitor via a cable. Without hooking into the work network
but its good gameplay, actually makes you use food and weapons to its full potential
Hrmm
Highly recommend 8bitdo's N30 Pro for mobile btw
I get sick of most RPGs with tons of potions and shit
Ill have to check windbound out.
that I never get to use
lol yeah
Genshin is straightforward yeah, food is food and potions are potions, they dont cross over
I'm hoping Windbound improves the combat stiffness issue, but maybe it has? Last update sounded like they may have tweaked that, but haven't gotten around to checking
ye I like its simple enough
Hehe, thats something that would drive me mad
For me, the fluidity of combat in a game draws me in
Welp! I am gone, for a moment
I liked Kingdoms of Amalur and Minecraft Dungeons for the same reason - it had a little depth but it wasnt minmax hell that is Path of Exile
and just actually fun to pick up whenever
even early game combat was very satisfying
same deal with genshin
even when you're just swinging your sword with your first char there's visually pleasing combos
it gets your attention better than just simple back and forth swinging shit
even if you do get tired of it eventually, but it came to me quite later
That's something I enjoyed with The Sealed Ampoule a bit ago. It's pretty straightforward, maybe has some depth further in, but otherwise easy to jump in & just play
seems like I really would have enjoyed BOTW huh
After I eat I might see how much more there is to the ch. 1 demo~
windbound sucked me in for days
uh I doubt you'll like it since genshin is like always online
Nah, talkin' The Sealed Ampoule
ah ok
Also dunno why but I have Breath of the Wild but it's not really drawn me in
Last game to really keep me playing at length was Paradise Killer
That game managed to keep me playing for something like 4-6 hours straight without even really noticing
And back
I definitely can understand people who dont like BoTW
It really isnt for everyone. I guess it boils down to how you enjoy things.
Personally I like games where your just in a world where you explore at your own pace. Pick what your doing for the day and the end goals are a bit less defined. I liked many of the early rpgs from japan which were of that ilk. I havent played one for over a decade though. Generally storylines are very lose, very much hidden behind innuendo and very whats the word... simplified.
Though genshins take on modern culture and the commentary being so connected to current conditions, cultures and such is interesting. A lot of commentary hidden under the text about sexuality, morality, wealth, family and such.
Each of the seven nations are a subset of national cultures, with the features of each one being interposed. Which is interesting to say the least.
Which reminds me heavily of a game back in the early 2000s
The one thing I like is how if you sit in town, almost every npc will stop and talk to someone and they have all this opinion text and as time goes on it progresses. So you get this story of the city. Which one of my friends entirely missed.
You dont see that enough in games.

in botw?
In genshin.
The last game before genshin id see that was the elderscrolls games.
Hrmm
Wasteland did that as well now that i think of it!
In one cave you go into, you kill a boss, in the cave is a pile of dead bodies, which is linked to one quest and so on so forth the entire room is a testament of the interconnectivity of things.
oh ok thanks
“My biggest, my main takeaway from everything would be just be careful what you post on the internet,” she said. “You never know who’s gonna find it or what they’ll do with it.”
welcome to [ANY YEAR PAST 2007]
Pretty much
Heck stuff I said in the early days of the net still show up
I was a entirely different person of course back then. A teen and heavily involved in some very involved groups.
Unlike social dialouge you have with people, it can perpetuate forever.
Frankly, I never used tiktok or instagram. I find them loathesome.
i have not heard any teen refer to attending a class called "digital responsibility" and it is unfortunate
Thats something the religious group I am with makes sure to teach to kids and teens.
Mostly due to how quickly it can spiral out of control.
Frankly it should be a school course too.
Part of social studies perhaps?
wherever social and cultural responsibility is taught as an individual pursuit, yeah
Many of the parents I know dont want that though. They want the kids to learn via experience, rather then a teacher.
Trial by fire
The hands off parents.
the neglectful parents
the self absorbed and narcissistic parents
been there done that got the t-shirt
Hrmm
Thats one sort of hands off parent I see. Then you have the ones who guide, teach, but give room for failure as well so a child gains a sense of who they are through experience.
Thats a bit more in line with my own parent.s
With all the various bits and bobs to get involved and infatuated by though, this world has a way of pulling people away from the more material, in the now consequences. When you run into people who just have no clue about any real life mechanics and sorta function in a tech cocoon.. its sad
I have to admit, losing my internet more or less for 3 months helped me get more in touch with the impact of the environment around me 😄 Suddenly had to inhabit the space I was in, without the blaring information from the internet and had to fix things because no one wants to be aware of a dirty house all the time. Which lead to me exercising again, cooking more and now the internet just isnt as attractive.
So many choices and endings in Dishonored 2, let's see if my strange playthrough I'm doing gives me an interesting one 😆
I love games like that
Hrmm what was the name of that game...
Something ocean..
Star Ocean!
Ha! I remembered that game so well. You could NOT get all the characters each playthrough, it was impossible. You had hundreds of unique endings. With each character having its own storyline.
That game was nuts.
Your character's attitude towards everything, the city itself and the people in it, the amount of bloodflies infesting things everywhere, your targets' state of mind, and the stupid amount of endings all change in various ways depending on how you play this, it's 👌
Yeah
I think some games do that so well.
Suikoden II and Star Ocean: The Second Story are the best rpgs for that, ever
You could replay for it a year solid and never finish all the endings. Star oceans also had hand painted backgrounds and such, which made then graphically stunning.
Im starting to realize, the reason I like genshin is the haute style design, with minimalism. It reminds me so much of Secret of Mana.
A lot of my friends playing it like it for different reasons but now I have a hankering for more games like it.
I guess immortals fenyx rising mite fill that hole
@glass plinth chrono cross would probably drive you a tad wild, lol
so many characters to encounter, and somehow, seemingly different paths to take. I don't know how, but I've yet to be able to recreate my first playthrough in that game.
Who did I talk to? What did I look at, that altered the course? 🤷♀️
Lol
One of my favorites as well.
Yeah, I played all of the old rpgs
every single one
Even the japanese only releases on famicom. I had that console.
That actually was where I got into fixing electronics lol. I found a old japanese snes, the system was partially damaged. The port for the catridge was broke. A little soldering, a replacement and wala, mine for a wopping 20 bucks.
I think Star Oceans is why I dont mind Gacha games. I never did get all the characters in that damned game. WAY to many to play the entire game to get them
I think someone managed it a few times. Took over a year.
eeehh but it's not at all gacha, it's just a matter of which choices you made to get to the right interactions. Not PULL THE LEVER
Sorta
I mean in Star oceans you didnt necessarily have control over who you got as a hero , random events
So each playthrough could be unique. So yeah
With gacha its how I view things
When I play through, I just have random encouters. It isnt a choice. It just happens.
I guess people who want to be able to calculate there outcomes purely through there successes and failures, that would drive them nuts.
Me, Im not so worried.
Although, I have the distinct feeling Ill have all the heros save for odd holiday event ones
Never been big on event stuff. Not that i dont like them, i dont go nuts for them,
I do not own this.
Check out Mr. Fletch: https://soundcloud.com/fletcherino

very 1980-90s synth
Well, the little wireless controller for my cellphone is proving more useful them I expected. I didnt realize it had a mic in it. Sweeeet!
they wanna hear your button presses
Lol
Which they are generously providing and Im thankfully using.
The odds arent great for character rolls from the stats, Im not experiencing that of course, so Im a outlier.
Still no venti and jean though!
weird moment when microsoft just up & saves gamestop, lol
Apparently GameStops will be Xbox All-Access centers
To make it easier for people to join the program
Plus it'll obviously boost Gamestop's sales, lol
A lot of big box stores are going out of business and being bought as amazon transfer and delivery centers. Which is saving malls to a degree rent wise
Basically saw a similar thing in the 90s
Old businesses bow out, new ones take over
Such goes the cycle of life
lol
free market competition? nah, just monopoly, the game everyone loves!
I forgot we can ride kelbi, lol
Yet another Bethesda tactic to put Skyrim in your neighborhood ||Since they're owned by Xbox now||

MechAssault reboot when
@austere lance I think it would be a good thing for microsoft taking over gamestop. The company has the worst sales tactics ever (gamestop) and they need a backbone that doesn't encourage employees to use sneaky tactics to trick people into purchasing shit they don't want.
Physical game stores have gone the way of the dodo bird. The only ones I see anymore are Gamestop/Ebgames and 1UP
Just saw that seconds before seeing this was brought up.
It's just a deal where employees will use the Microsoft cloud and devices during work.
can't wait to see them jamming with zunes
checkmate, xbox
At launch pcie v4 ssds are similarly priced compared to the Xbox proprietary storage though. Thankfully the price of storage goes down over time for third parties.
it depends
if the flash being put into the xbox modules is mid-to-high end, it's competitive
if it's the low end stuff, then it's a fairly substantial mark up
Yeah I mean even if it's competitive it's only competitive if they price drop to match memory costs somewhat closely as the rest of the market trends downwards
the one edge it does have is that it's easy to swap
so, if we start seeing multi-hundred GB games, having pluggable modules is an advantage
Yeah, if it's simply hot swappable like that it's a pretty sweet bonus
dunno what the optical capacity is on them tbh
up to 100GB per disk
from Randy Writes A Novel (2018)
saw this guy (?) on Bring the Funny comedy competition
can this be true
might pick it up after the brotherhood of steel dlc
want the world to be filled with more npc quests
the map does look like it'd be fun to explore
i play the same way as the writer, walk in one direction and just explore the map

gamers gonna be applying
I played this too much at first release and now I'm gunna buy it on Steam and play it too much for it's second release.
Lol, atta boi
oh i didn't know it was that good @winter yew
if you like it yeah it's good
lol
This server may as well have been an The Outer Worlds server when the game released. #other-games was literally just The Outer Worlds talk for a couple weeks.
it's about average imo, only stands out because bethesda's been muckin' up
incidentally it's also just not really that Bethesda-like in terms of world design, as it's less open world and more traditional semi-open RPG design
it's no new vegas, but outer worlds stands up fine in its own right
yeah, it's Just Alright
i have a relative who is a fonv stan but the graphics are so meh, i don't get it
nostalgia i guess
It came out a decade ago, of course it doesn't have modern graphics 😆
heh
it's about the interactions, they're more compelling to your relative probably
Graphics don't mean squat, I'm still playing games from 17 years ago xD
After I do this Dishonored 2 NG+ playthrough imma finish KotOR, play KotOR II, then replay Fallout 3 for the 6th time and drop another 50 hours into it
Dwarf Fortress, possibly the most interactive game ever, is like the least graphically involved game ever, lol
then we find out we were the dwarves all along
the dwarf was inside me the whole time
Eh, i definitely cant agree with the graphics statement. TO me, they mean everything. Though complex and simple have there places. Poorily done of either kind drives me nuts.
Like my nickname Llewellyn
So welsh
I require more games that let you fucking wreck enemies in first-person as a dwarf. I think Vermintide lets you do it
kinda with jahnri...if pong was the most realistic or at least fidelous (?) gaming experience on offer, that is what i would play, and as the graphics improved i would move to new games, maybe revisit a remaster
clearly my opine is not in the majority otherwise minecraft would be in the bargain bin rn
だわうろふ the most broken spelling of dwarf i can imagine
I just hate badly meshed art.
Dworph
I mean look at the original simcity, charming still.
Then look at other games of the ilk with bad art, never playing them ever again.
Lots of high fidelity art looks like detail for the sake of detail without looking all that great imo
I may or may not have over 40 hours in KotOR on Xbone (lord knows how much I had back when it originally released on Xbox, lol) and am gonna have 60+ on KotOR II after my next playthrough. They came out in 2003 and 2004 and I still love em 💕
Some games, a lot of adventure games have good detail and artistry though.
Like Horizon: Zero Dawn, the mechafauna genuinely looks great, but some of the environments look like detail mush to me
Horizon definitely did it better then most though.
Fancy graphics with uber-detailed textures are boring, give me a good art-style like Dishonored or Ori instead
Then you have some games with high detail, a lot of war games, that are blech.
Frankly one of the reasons i love zelda is the lower poly
Its detailed, but charming.
Granted, I love Witcher 3, detail AND artistry
I'll take Arkane's art-styles over the 250 GB of nonsense Modern Warfare has any day, lol
Lol we agree on that
The vistas in Witcher 3 were one reason I played, just hiking through the woods. Same with red dead redemption 2
Lots of those military games up the ante on fidelity but are so corporate and sterile in their artwork otherwise
They did try to be creative for awhile though, but the fans beat them back into fucking World Wars
I just wanna play MW
Mw?
Prey 2017 art is 💕
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2017/jul/26/building-prey-game-developer-arkane-artists-shape-video-game-worlds
AH AH! I know 3 artists who worked on prey
Man, those were some fucked up people
LOL!
Advanced Warfare & Infinite Warfare were probably the highlights of recent CoD creativity, but RIP to that
Oi, why the link dead 😤
Fixed link, lol
Granted, it's only really fun with friends
Ah, frankly, after seeing some of the venues for Cyberpunk, Ill probably be playing that game like a walking sim. Like I did with Witcher 3. I like worlds that are organic, more or less a fantasy take on something. Even if the game is eh.
Just walking around in a big cyber city appeals to me
Same with some other games.
A good environment is key for me.
When does that come out again?
Yee
Same here
God damn they went wild with the concept art for Prey 2017
Is that game worth playing?
I love Arkane, they put lots of heart into their games 💕
yes
@echo hill Yee, especially if you like Bioshock and Dishonored (it kinda feels like a weird mix of both, lol)
Never played either
Boi 😤
Seriously, how many game devs put this much thought into designing their game's world? (This is for Prey 2017)
That art style leans heavily on the styles you see in blade runner
Games like that have so much to base themselves on.
Gothic, Futurist, Modern.
I think one of the areas I liked so far, the most in cyberpunk was a run down bit of town under a underpass. Sorta a smashed into a hole china town.
Those kinds of environments are home to me
Alive, breathing
So hard to do well.
Yee, Cyberpunk is gonna have a helluva world
Honestly it looks like it'll have my favorite new sci fi world since I watched Altered Carbon
Well, my worry are certain stretches of map, they are a bit devoid of life. Some better then others.
Ive got to see a bit more of it then most due to people I knew who did demos of it. Its good, great in some places. Bad in others. Not quite Witcher 3 level.
Then again I do think cities are harder then countryside
The one plaza though, with all the people buzzing around just did such a great job. Alot like big cities Ive been in real life. Hrmm, like old town manila.
Ha, almost wish I could climb the towers like in Genshi, however, that would take WAY to much time to do.
noms homemade curry So content right now 😄

yeah but you can't play it yet. Sorry the way the comment read made it seem like it was playable to me T.T
I wish Anthem didn't sound like it was still shitting the bed months later
I was hoping it would get its shit together so I could justify buying and playing it
Is the Squadrons any good? Watching some stuff on steam about it now
I wish they'd just drop it and put all their energy behind Dragon Age.
@keen dome It's exactly what it looks like, and it does that damn well. If you're expecting anything besides a starfighter combat sim you'll be disappointed tho
@dry copper Wait for Anthem 2.0 rework

Agony wiggles....
Agony might be described more as wriggling. Wiggling is a little too...giddy.
@full pivot You said you liked/wanted games with space ship management simulation. I think you might like Interstellar Rift. It's all about spaceship management sim. The only downside I see to the scenarios it presents are the complete absence of crew. You can technically get other players to be your crew but in terms of NPC crew there are none ...and there are A LOT of systems, managing everything from engine power, shield distribution, ammo, shipping, battery integrity, oxygen, to even room temperature and thermal flow regulators...The devs have told me they're considering adding drone systems that act like crew to "automate" certain features but they have pretty much said no to adding actual NPC characters as crew.
Bonus is you can build your ship from scratch and customize every feature. The downside of that is, there is a learning curve to making a good ship
Everything from an efficient system in small space to getting systems that work well together

You can technically build a blueprint for the best ship in the game if you're good at designing, but you won't be building that ship on day one no matter how good you are because the system you spawn in does not have the resources. You need to build a ship just to get to a system to get them

is that starbase
It has two storeys, a bridge, a small 1 person crew quarter, teleporter, engine room with batteries, hydrogen tank, generator, solar panels, 3D printer, refinery, cargo hold and research lab
Top left is the ship. I also have shots of the floor plans inside of it
Beneath the crew quarters is a small sickbay with access to the weapons systems, racks and also escape pod
@raven frost It's a spaceship
I'm in my refinery crafting a new hazard suit so I can get to resources in radiated regions
I just transported an asteroid to my ship to break it down into component parts

This is stupid fun for doing jack shit
I haven't even fought anything yet
This is challenging just to load ammo into the ship lol
You can certainly buy or find your own, but you can also craft ammo
Weapon systems have power requirements and loadouts.
I haven't yet figured out how to fire....

Is that not out yet? been waiting a long while
I was invited to an alpha forever ago and even joined the discord for a time but didn't find the game compelling....but having played this game now, even without a story, I can completely see the appeal
The story just happens when you're playing this game
Pick an objective...whatever it is, a story is going to unfold around it
The universe is alive
even if there are no real npc
lol I'm reading with a digital pen and almost wrote the crap I'm reading into chat
glad the button doesn't press enter
Meanwhile seeing an outpost npc go outside to check a console in nms blew my mind, lol
lol
anyone play mtg arena? If so does the game always seem to lag a bit for no reason and stop responding?
That’s normal yeah
It’s always had iffy performance for me and I have a powerful PC
It’s why I switched to just playing on tabletop sim
Plus it doesn’t have Commander
in table top sim can you flip the table and scream like a rabid wookie?
If not...what part of it simulates actual table top?
Flipping the table is a thing yes
sweet
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
And it has voice
Or just use discord haha
Me and several people from the server play Commander on it
You can import decks from deck building sites or share yours for other people to play etc
Playing Eldritch Horror on Tabletop Simulator for the first time. I didn't know there was a table flip option...
I just play the ones I have irl
wait how does it work with tts?
You import decks from places like tappedout.net and all the card mechanics are already in tts
So you just play it like you would irl
ahh
They have pretty much all the artwork imported already; I’ve seen like 1 card not load in properly
Trying out Metal Gear Rising Revengance and not having a good time.
The only thing is not using decks that you wouldn’t buy irl; like don’t go importing $5000 competitive stuff haha
Revengance is hysterical 🤣

I'll say it again, if we got NMS on the switch I'd gladly pick it up again
wouldn't happen, switch dun have enough memory
its fairly cpu and gpu light, but the procedural generation noms memory
@dry copper not to be a bother but what was that game, where you were talking about things like transporting an asteroid to your ship to break it down
@burnt drift I think it may have been Interstellar Rift if I read right. If it was from several hours ago, they mentioned the game a bit above talking more about what they were doing
fuck, now another game i have to choose between, i was already conflicted between pillars of eternity 2 dlc or waiting for the new stellaris species pack
I think it's still in Early Access, so no real rush to get it over more polished stuff
looking at the steam page for interstellar rift, if that is indeed the one, it does not say its in early access
if only i had more than 20 bucks to spare atm
Huh, so it is not. I must have confused it with the other game Mumbles was looking at alongside it
my only thing limiting me currently is i just don't have a lot of cash to spare for games atm
NMS streamed to my phone is weird, lol. Was looking through my Game Pass app and it had the option to play it 😆
otherwise it wouldn't be a dilemma
also is it just me or is pillars of eternity 1, from a gameplay standpoint, more tedious than the second one
I get that, i tend to set myself a loose budget with games
I haven't played either of those games despite having the first so can't say much
I got over a year of Game Pass Ultimate for $60, I'm set for games til Dec 11 next year
Rn I'm downloading CrossCode and Nier Automata Become As Gods Edition
It would be sick if libraries got that sort of thing going 🤔
But first you gotta punch some publishers
As someone who very rarely replays games, Game Pass is 👌. I mostly treat it like a demo service 😆
i have both, got the first one with dlcs included on gog around 4 months or so ago, tried to get into it off and on but i just struggle to get invested enough for hours at a time
got the second one cause grandmother got it for 10 bucks as a physical copy at walmart, showed her the first one so she was aware what she was getting into
mainly cause her limit to gaming is either stuff like bejeweled or wow so i know she would've likely got overwhelmed
she didn't want it so i got the copy
but i don't have the dlc, which i want
its just my funds limiting me as to what i do and don't get
... that and i have to save some more cause i only recently received my acceptance letter and all for uni, less than a week ago
Very rarely says the guy currently replaying KotOR, lol
If you have a library card you can rent out books from your local library and download em in Kindle format
KotOR is timeless, shush 🤣
Now imagine being able to rent more games through libraries
lol just a shame my friend wasn't able to get em for me cause i did ask, have got em some stuff in the past so no shame in trying, but meh
the server i was in for games like generation zero self destructed which leaves me upset
This is as good as playing on Switch
This is running in 1080p actually because I stream from PS4 Pro
So it's actually better than Switch
Kishi isn't Bluetooth so no controller latency
the fuck is kishi
oh
that thing, didn't know it was called kishi
... anyway, i could use some advice on which thing to get cause i'm at a loss of whether to get pillars of eternity 2 stuff or wait for necroids pack for stellaris
just wow 😛
if you own a device that can run iOS13 or iOS14, you can use Xbox/PS4 controllers with them without jailbreak now.
Spirit just got me this, it's my boi 😍
aww
Playing Control is pretty much the aquivelent to reading a book
Because I'm OCD about collecting the notes and stuff.
me but with RPGs & talking to everyone I can find in villages
i never did get that, seems like ocd for collecting that stuff really would sidetrack you from the more fun aspects of a game
eh, depends on the person. Sometimes, for me, it's more fun to learn about a game's world than to interact with other gameplay systems.
Like in RPGs especially, I don't usually find the combat much fun at all, particularly random encounter style RPGs
i mean i can understand wanting to learn about a games world as much as the next person but at the same time, it is more exciting to do it via sidequests, or as an indirect result as you go through the other gameplay systems, instead of just spending who knows how long scouring the world for new npcs to talk to
sure, there are better ways to handle it...not many games seem to have those better ways though, so you work with what the game offers
Like many games' side quests are just filler that don't tell you much, or you find items but it's referring to some ancient history that barely applies to the present
I'm a big Arkane and Bioshock fan so I like wandering around finding stuff that tells me about the world
Good morning, Morgan.
Arkane's definitely great about blending worldbuilding into the gameplay. Learn more of the world if you explore, or even just eavesdrop
fuck i should really play Prey. I was thinking, "man i wish arkane did a scif-" and it smacked me in the face, lol
Prey is terribly underrated
It took me 1 1/2 playthroughs of Dishonored 2 to find a note in a guard outpost that's basically a letter sent to all local guards on how to kill Clockwork Soldiers if they go berserk, I was like "FUCKING REALLY???" 🤣
I also learned after I got into the last area on the last level that I'm somehow a dumbass/genius and managed to avoid an entire half of the fucking level full of stuff to find, LMAO
who was it here that went on about prey's load times...
I bet the new consoles might fix that right up
Yknow, honestly
Prey felt like it was probably better played on PC
I did not enjoy the aiming on PS4
They aren't terrible on base consoles, I didn't like read a book or anything during load screens
Hyped for the Series S|X enhanced Arkane Collection 😍
it's funny, bloodborne was also criticized for its load times, but even after a patch to improve them, I kinda didn't notice that much
I suspect years of dealing with load times have just made me mostly tolerant of them
I just bs on my phone during loading screens anyway, so I don't notice if they're long or not
But yeah, Prey ain't bad. Certainly better than friggin RDR 2 load times
I'm waiting to have someone tell me they like RDR2 and not Death Stranding so i can be like, "really?"
I fucking swear they made the aiming worse in RDR 2 than it was in RDR, LMAO
With how open ended Bloodborne was, I dont recall caring too much about load times
But its been years since I touched it
Well
Yharnam was open-ended. I didn't enjoy needing a loading screen for the fucking Firelink Shrine of the game.
@burnt drift Patience is a virtue. I almost never pay full price for games. Sign up, flag a game and watch for discounts https://www.cheapshark.com/
@dry copper i can appreciate your offer, but there is one slight issue with this in that the money i have to spare is in my steam wallet
so even if another discount is around its not gonna help me till steam has one
plus razer already does keep track of some of that stuff for me depending on my steam wishlist
It sounds insane to put money into a steam wallet to me.
I had money in mine only as a product of doing steam events
well, i got the money from a steam card. i spent it on a game. i did not like said game, so i refunded it
the money went back into my steam wallet
so i've got no real choice in the matter lol
so yes i appreciate your efforts to help though, thanks for trying
I appreciate when a game has readable lore to flesh out the world further, but there's a point where it can be too much.
Thankfully it's optional, and it's split between notes, video and recordings
Thought it only took external SSDs
It sounds insane to put money into a steam wallet to me.
@dry copper Keeping spare cash in a Steam wallet? I can't imagine doing that.
I can understand how one might get money in the wallet with card sales though
I've sold tons of cards over the years.
I just spend the entire wallet amount the moment I want anything and pay the difference
I think I've only once kept money in a Steam wallet, and it was maybe for a couple days.
A have a bajillion cards
As a result of a Steam card
now I kind of want to put an ssd into my 60GB ps3
Story behind that:
My former boss got partially email-scammed into buying $800 worth of Steam cards. Partially, because when the scammer, playing the role of said boss' boss, asked him to scratch off all the codes and send them over email, my boss just went and dropped off all the cards on his boss' desk, saying he doesn't have time.
Once all that unfolded, the cards were held onto since returns weren't possible, and later re-distributed amongst employees in a Christmas party.
Thing is
This was at an auto dealership.
I could safely say I was literally the only person working there that used Steam.
Kinda hilarious that a bunch of folks got Steam cards to do fuckall with
I didn't get one, but my boss gave me the one he won
Free $50
I got a steam card for christmas once.
I thought it was....cute
"Awww, you're pretending to be money"
Wish my family would toss me a Steam card once in a while for Christmas or a birthday.
I know exactly what I'd get in any case.
Cyberpunk 2077

Honestly, I think that would be bawler

What turned me off on Starbase was it's always on pvp
I don't play Eve for the same reason

the fact that Starbase is an MMO is a massive turn off to me
which is a shame, because, looking at gameplay I really like the idea

I just realized how hilariously small the ships in NMS are compared to my ship in ED right now
and the Cobra is even a small ship
the ships used to be a lot smaller in scale in earlier versions of NMS too 😉

Everyone underestimates the elite dangerous scale

@austere lance an actual pandemic happened and it was cancelled because they thought it would've been in poor taste /s
LOL
I won't even bother playing ED until I get a HOTAS....It is the kind of game that I feel kind of really only benefits from a complete immersion
I've had fun flying with a controller, pretty sure it's hell on M+KB tho
Having played ED without, I can say that more immersion is best
Its not too bad on MKB
But I really wish I had flight sticks
I saw the sleepy reaction and I already knew it was Leon before I hovered. 🙌
games industry killed immersion
it means nothing
i can only get immersed bobbing for apples IRL
Headbob is pretty important
Elite is pretty nice on Controller, but I have no idea how I'd fight with it
But it's mostly about trucking around anyway
I never noticed Far Cry having bad head-bob
people who bob for apples know TRUE immersion.
Then again, the last one I played was Primal. I have no idea what anything after feels like
people named Bob who bob for apples know even the truest, deepest immersion
Neo from the matrix bobbed for apples, and he experienced the true world
Far Cry 5, when you're sprinting the head bob is too much.
head bobbing creates more immersion
Shouldn't it have head-bob options? Ffs, I remember 360 games that had toggle options for that
TBH, I'm the sort of dickhead that plays a game with low camera sensitivity and complains about it before looking for settings.
It probably does have a head bob option.
Apparently it has no option for it
smh my head
bmh my head
I grew up playing first-person games so honestly I don't notice that kind of stuff unless it's atrocious
BYU your uncle
I remember DOOM 2016 had some kind of movement thing that made me wanna die and I immediately disabled it
Oh, new Kipo season
i like a bit of motion blur
It actually makes me sick to play games with it on.
The only game Ive played with it I enjoyed was a flying game.
During turns your semi blank out
I get that, it makes sense and it suited the game
However, I dont really feel the same when Im on the ground, it messes with my sense of balance almost
Now visual effects like lens flare, I LOVE
especially when done well.
yup
Man, NMS nailed the lighting this rendition. I LOVE going under dense clouds and see the cloud breaks, light streaming in.
It actually has me playing the game more just for that one addition alone.
definitely can be pretty sometimes
kinda wish the clouds were as crisp on ps4 pro as they are from what i've seen on pc
Not doing much gaming at the moment because I fried my 9 year old wireless adapter lol. I made the mistake of installing it on a back port USB port. To close to the heat exhaust.
dang
Spiked close to 145f, melted a entire antenna.
meh, it was time to upgrade. I got a quad antenna one now. Should help with latency.
Well, losing access to internet sucked. Took me awhile to mess with the old antennna to make it work. YAY for knowing how to semi repair electronics
Most of sunday i was like a crack addicted itching for internet.
Xbox should grow a pair and lower the stupid exclusive period for Deathloop, I just saw something saying it's PS exclusive for a year. Which is stupid, seeing how XBOX OWNS THE FUCKING STUDIO
contracts are contracts
wifi is a drug
Sony will have paid a big wodge of cash for the exclusivity at an independent studio
Eh, IM used to a physical connection. Wifi sucks
But its the only way I have access right now. I miss a good 200mbps connection soooo much. Stuck with a clunky 13 with the repair, was 38

Latency is really the big issue. I miss having such a solid connection i had 7ms latency in games.
Im lucky if I hit 75ms now.
Hoping the new adapter hits around 30ms. That would pretty well let me kick butt in most fps. When my old adapter was working better I was. The rate of lock on, for a gun user anyways is soooo much easier.
ANYWAYS
At least NMS is offline capable
I have this bizarre mix of bs, lol
ugghhhhhhh
Some local internet company, it's the only thing that reaches out here 😭
does it go over phone lines or over the air?
No clue
If it's over the air, that could be right - there's no real rhyme or reason as to how it performs
phone line... I'd suspect that maybe there's a bad connection on the ISP to your home wire
but good luck getting them to do anything about it D:
not that it'd improve it much anyway, you could maybe hope for 8-9 mbit if your upload is peaking at 1.9
rule of thumb for DSL is upload speed is around 10-20% of download
lol
Man, I cant say my connection is that bad, when my wireless was working
That is brutal Sound.
I think the lowest I got was about 7mbps, when it was a bad day, 60ish when it was good.
Not sure what Ill get with the new adapater. Also what the heck happened to that baby lol
Had the pleasure of working with the incredible @Debbysheen_ on these! The Xiphrix Chest Plate and Corix Shoulder Armour are now live on Steam! #warframe #tennogen #sentient #thenewwar https://t.co/ah8qUSD94C https://t.co/Pk8tAlwN8K
oh wow
my only problem with the shoulder guards like that is that they tend to block the view of the aiming reticle
maybe THAT one wont because of how it's angled
minecrafts next update sounds like its gonna be a redstoners dream come true with that new sculk plant or whatever it is that lets out a signal based on noise around it
See most shoulderguards dont bother me no matter how big they are
EXCEPT the Tennocon 2019 ones

Pretty much what they're like
anyone here own animal crossing
and should i dump 79.99 into it
im just really bored
Yes
Animal crossing is wonderful. I'm addicted to it. Everyone i know loves it.
While you were battling the evil forces of D'Sparil, the other Serpent Riders were busy sowing the seeds of destruction in other dimensions. One such dimension is the decaying world where Hexen takes place. A world littered with the mangled corpses of nonbelievers and inhabite...

its still beautiful
just like me
but with a severe bias because of all the reasons listed
good memories attached

There really aint much out right now that requires a 3080
So if I can nab a 2080 at say, $300...

Well, some of the codes have been in my library for years at this point, so if someone is, say, salivating at the thought of getting a free copy of Guacamelee, well, why not give them out? 🤷
I both love and hate Guacamelee. Super fun game yet ridiculously frustrating at the same time.

But it is a substantial upgrade in tech
Actually its frighteningly good, still, price is ooph

Sucker is fantastic too.
I suppose if I really want it that badly I could trade in my SE2020
but I would miss TouchID
that's the thing keeping me attached to phones with a home button lol
I've had iPhone since uhhh the 3GS
Ah
This year was the first year i had a cell
So naturally I went android. Since its cheaper
had a friend/roommate that worked at Apple and was able to give me his hand-me-downs when he upgraded
I've bought my own since the 5S.
Yeah, i never wanted a cell until recently, when my apartment didnt have access to landlines
but I've only ever had the 4S, 5, 5S, and SE before the one I currently have ( the SE2020 )
upgraded every other year basically.
Frankly, Im a desktop person
I only ever had one laptop
and a few tablets I never used much
I do however have a mp3 player i love.
yeah I've had a few laptops, my current one is a few years old now and doesn't get much use unless I need to rip a cd lol.
My pc's case doesn't have a slot for CD drives.
I use my work computer for that
Man, im so psyched to get my new wireless adapter. The only reason I needed one was because I cant get access to the router at my new apartment
I got spoiled at the old one with a high speed cable ethernet setup
I LOAAATHE wireless
I only had a adapter for when my ex was here and needed it for 4 months.
Sucker was 9 year old tech, this new one should in theory allow me decent latency, im so going to murder everyone on OW now.
