Welp, Maneater was the 3rd platinum trophy I've received in 12 years. Fun game and addicting, if not a little repetitive with its quest design. Evolving and becoming more powerful was cool. I was surprised with the attention to detail they put into the world above the water, but I feel it could have been optimized better because of framerate drops. The story and narration felt a bit off, but I wasn't expecting a masterpiece from those areas. Good game overall I recommend ๐

Depending on how you mess with the environment, animatroids (fauna) will evolve to be amphibious or terrestrial or, presumably, aquatic.
Similar stuff with fungols (flora), albeit not sure on the aquatic part there, but same idea of preferring very wet to very dry environments.
So far I've spent more time working on figuring out cultivating fungols to have food sources available for different environments for the animatroids, so if I decide to guide them to different environments they'll have something to eat so they can evolve there
The harder direction was to cultivate flora for very dry environments, as one might expect.
Now I think I'll go towards practically aquatic flora and see if I can get some aquatic fauna going.

I had a crew member get an infection and then I was being over run with spiders. As I was focusing on the infection, the spiders were just causing crazy damage.
When I focused on the spiders, the infected crew member was getting sick.
There was no in between for the difficulty. It was a lose/lose situation which is fair because not every story has a happy ending. Just annoying that the game didn't recognise, or at least add a multiplier of sorts to make it a little easier to win.
There was no scenario that I was going to win that time.

Which for the stage I was at in game was basically impossible. It was too much for 'early game'.
The AI on crew members is so dumb that it would be beneficial for them to not be there.
That being said, it was fun to play albeit with problems.

Honestly it depends on how much you liked Diablo III having a billion difficulty settings that steadily gave you better loot and harder fights. Yeah Dungeons is pretty short but parts of the maps are randomly generated each time, the multiple difficulties affect loot drops, and it's fun not being tied down with classes. Just use whatever gear you want that matches your play-style
Plus there's secrets to find
It's certainly worth trying with Game Pass

It's a simplified Diablo-type game. It's not complicated, it's easy to pick up and play, and it's fun with friends. Also has some depth to it and a pretty challenging end-game loop, if you're into that. I have friends who are diehard Destiny fans that are loving Dungeons because it's a damn good balance of simple yet deep-ish
And yeah, I've almost beaten it on the Default difficulty tiers
Surprisingly I've played for a few hours and I'm still getting loot I haven't seen before. Yeah there's rarities of old stuff I'm finding but I'm still getting plenty of completely new stuff too

I am. I personally love the upgrade system. Every time you level up you get an enchantment point that you can use on any gear. Each gear piece depending on rarity (I think, haven't quite figured that part out yet) has a couple different enchantments to choose from. You level up enchantments with more points from you leveling up. This all sounds pretty average but you can breakdown gear you don't use anymore and get ALL THE POINTS BACK!
It's so simple but so fucking smart too. Completely removes hours of pointless grinding

Oh yeah, the game gives you the basic things you need right off the bat (sword, bow, an offensive equipment item). Like I said, there isn't a class system. Just whatever gear you wanna wear with whatever perks they give you
I'm wearing a goofy mining outfit that gives me a bat minion and I think affects melee, but I also have some dank equipment and nasty sorta-necromancer spell
Plus I mostly use a bow, lol
