its too heavily inspired:

turn based, 4 moves
The stats right down to the naming
The rock paper scissors matching
"abilities"
Evolving after certain level or by other means which parallel pokemon
3 starter "pokemon" to choose, your starting is basically the same as other pokemon games right down to the rival (except this time you're scripted to lose rather than win)

they could have at least tried to do something very unique but its a multiplayer thing rather than solo

#

just one example I can think of: have the creatures only learn 3 moves, but depending on the battlefield condition, move combinations or through some ability, get a 4th move that's temporary and can be different based on the said conditions. This would make for even complex strategizing.

There's this game, Wargroove, which is also largely inspired by the Advance Wars series of games and has a bunch of stuff similar with it, but its also unique in the way that its fantasy-medieval themed, a bunch of stuff is done differently rather than aping the same feature in a different skin, and adds some elements of its own
