Talk to everyone with a name
gotta find'em first
Yeah the sidequests are worthwhile
Yeah but those folks also have quests ๐
some
The interactions and dialogue just seem improved and more natural over previous titles
tbh kinda surprised at how some early convos have somewhat high skill checks
Yep. Gotta start your build early
that's dumb, can't you just revisit later?
If I have a low perception and can't say something I just eat something that raises, plus you could hold onto clothing that raises different skills
Yee, did the clothing thing earlier to pass a Persuasion check
Had to with Topson
Uhh, not sure if I have much of anything to do that sorta stuff yet
Mostly just have some basic stuff so far
must e splore
Have been but keep finding a lot of the same stuff, lol
I just went into the game knowing I was gonna try to talk my way through stuff and that having high medical/scientific skills seemed smart for a space RPG, so I mostly invested in those right off the bat
Didn't bother putting points into Leadership, Melee, or the skill with dodging and blocking
I went more stealth/tech kinda stuff, but I always put a dash here & there to even things out
Staying pretty even overall
Never an all-in sort, used to that screwing me over
Some conversations that require checks can be backed out of and came back to later, had to do that for the Persuade check and put gear on to boost it
Or eat food that boosts stats temporarily
Caffeinated stuff boosts Mind attributes by 5
lol
I've never been able to decide how I feel about those kinds of systems in RPGs
I get the sense Outer Worlds threads the needle, but if you wobble even a bit it risks giving the sense that if you wear the right stuff and gobble down enough, leveling matters less, which is extremely lol
Nah, you'd have to waste forever hoarding gear and spend waaaaay too much time in menus munching food to make it worth it ๐
would be hilarious to see a RPG play off that idea though, of the imposter trying to outcompete the trained & experienced by constantly stealing clothes & stuffing their face with drugs & foods
good idea
I've never played any fps games, so one of my friends suggested that I play black ops 1
Good god it is so intense and honestly disturbing
I'm definitely not cut out for this
Never played an FPS???
After that it's been a bit of warframe and destiny 2
I love Destiny 2
Idk after playing this I'm feeling done with the whole shooting thing
I feel like I'm gonna puke rn
Black Ops goes hard as fuck on the disturbing level. Not a lot of FPS games are that uh
Yeah
I got to the Vietnam war part, it's just so loud all the time with no downtime at all and I'm calling for air support that absolutely mowed down all the soldiers who were crying like anything
I get its realistic so I'm not complaining about the game but at this point I'm not enjoying it
I've always preferred less realistic shooters
Gonna sleep now hopefully no nightmares
I wish you luck. Good night
Hell yes, got the fourth science weapon
i had 7
My eyes are still getting used to the stupid levels of detail in Outer Worlds, which is silly considering it's not even comparable to some other games which go further, and also it's not like I skipped a generation of consoles so it's not like I'm getting adjusted from PS2 to PS4
It has some nice views
Those aren't my pics, my 1080p TV doesn't do the game justice ๐
Think I'm gonna do a melee build
Do it, it's surprisingly viable
Plus there's plenty of fun melee weapons xD
Tossball bats great
Everything is viable lol, I played a high tech plus mid ranged and melee and you just get to a point where everything kills anything in like 3 seconds
I'm gonna do the melee build on Hard instead to try and make it more interesting
Beat the game last night so gonna try to do opposite paths this time so I don't get bored
I'm doing a balanced run atm. Second run I'm doing supernova + melee + no companions
Supernova seems like it'd be really annoying tbh
I've had one glitch so far that was kinda disappointing.
I got a "botched" mission cause someone died, even though she's my main companion and quite far from dead.
I kinda wonder if they're gonna add some QOL touches so you aren't constantly raising your weapon at people when trying to talk to them, lol
I can open doors without that issue, but people? Pfft, CHECK OUT MY WEAPON
I accidentally ruined my MSI standing cause I accidentally shot someone, the whole town jumped on me and then my companions defended me and each kill dropped my rep further.
Supernova with no companions seems easier than with them lol
Also really nice touch on the Saltuna factory being empty at night but populated during the day
There are a lot of continuity issues lol, but nothing too crazy
Didn't expect that tbh and was like, "wait why is this empty"
I was on a mission and an NPC was on my ship, it told me to leave for a bit to let them talk to someone else on my ship, and I went to where they normally are and they were still there lol
Maybe long lost twin
Yeah that's a little annoying.
I've had a companion with me that I've needed to specifically go onto my ship to talk to them.
Btw, is there a way to disarm the landmines? I'm guessing no, but ๐คท
Shoot
But i wanna pick'em up and use'em myself ๐ฉ
๐ฉ
On a whole though, I'm very much enjoying it.
Reminds me of when I went in the back of the community center and found a room with a window and a barred door, so I tried to smash through the window and nope
I can't say I entirely expected that to work, but I had to try
It's like standing in fire
Yeah
Gotta try it once
Like stepping outside the barrier on Scylla.
Although I didn't try shooting the window, 'cause didn't wanna alert goons
Or however it's spelled.
So maybe shooting woulda worked...But doubtful
I didn't try that actually
Yeah, don't. ๐
You can go outside the barrier, lol?
Is there a jump boost thing at some point? I saw a hole in the wall of a two-floor building & have been wondering about if I can get up there
Not upwards but forwards.
Hmm
Maybe there's an underground entrance into the place
How the fuck did I go with "but" there, lol
But yeah probably a way to get there later
I'm sure this has already been pointed out
Or a Fallen Servitor got a little too friendly with a Vex Harpy and made that ๐ณ
What the actual fuck is the UI for that game, why is there a ton of stuff on top of the screen
those are all the items you've picked up
they each do different things
Co-op roguelike actionThe classic multiplayer roguelike, Risk of Rain, returns with an extra dimension and more challenging action. No run will ever be the same with randomized stages, enemies, bosses, and items. Play solo, or team up with up to four friends to fight your way...
$19.99
27618
Risk of Rain is "effects, the game!"
pretty fun and addicting
definitely a game you want to play with people in voice chat though so you can be fair with pick-ups and decide who gets what to maximize each player's class and abilties
I spent most of the day unlocking all the currently playable survivor characters, I'm enjoying the Mercenary the most
I know how to give Gmr a stroke, lol
https://www.polygon.com/2019/10/28/20935463/xbox-all-access-subscription-project-scarlett-next-gen-upgrade
If you dislike Game Pass I bet you'll LOVE this ๐
๐
you keep the console once you pay it off
Now you can upgrade from the One X to the Scarlet when it releases if you're on the One X subscription
That makes most sense tbf. That's no different to running up a credit card debt.
I hope nobody is getting themselves into debt just to play games tbh
But I get it at the same time, it's a reason for most people.
All work and no play is just depressing.
I guess the upgrade is nice.
All debt, all work, and minimal play is even worse ๐ฉ
Absolutely
It's just an affordable way to offer it
$35 a month for a One X, XBL Gold, and Game Pass sounds weird
wait what do they do if you can't pay, do they also take back the console? ๐ค
Spread the cost out rather than a lump sum
I assume there would be credit checks, and if you failed to pay they could send it to collections
Sure but it ends up super expensive that way, is a lot cheaper to save and then purchase.
But I understand. =\
Is it actually more expensive? Pretty sure the last time it was the same price
24 months at $35 a month
$15
People actually pay full price for it, lol?
Not everyone can be assed to keep an eye out for deals on sub junk, lol
Yeah which gamepass + that in itself is a great incentive for new owners tbh
I think it's still more expensive but not like 2x as much
Clearly a market for it for them to reintroduce I guess.
Tbh I'm always suspicious when they start tossing up all these different payment methods for things
For people with smaller monthly paychecks it's viable
Because it can make it really easy to hide where it may cost more, not always, but sometimes
Eh in this case I don't think it's very hidden
I'm curious what the policy on broken consoles would be tho
Right but like defects I'd hope there'd be warranty
TBH, I just did a super quick work out. XB1X + 2 years Game Pass Ultimate works out to around the same price to buy it outright.
And even if that, where's the line
See that's what I thought it was when they announced this previously
So yeah, doesn't look like Microsoft is making anything on this.
They make more because more people can afford it I'd imagine
More accessible ways to purchase means more purchases
oy, just got an email about Star Citizen doing a Free Fly until November 3rd but when I click the link it takes me directly to where you have to buy a starter pack ๐
Yeah I'm having the same problem.
I'm gunna ignore it and try again tomorrow.
Sounds about right, lol
"oh we meant free if you buy it"
LMAO
It's relatively free vs buying anything else in the game
If your game has 300 million dollars shoved in it with little to no results than maybe the starter pack seems free in comparison, lol. Gotta get on the dev's 1000 IQ level to understand
I bought that and didn't enjoy it, returned it and I could still play it after the return went through. For like a week or something lol.
I didn't play tho
Very
Control scheme is extremely different
More like ED
Partially why I didn't like it, not a fan of the "reroute power to specific systems" control system
God I hate that crap in ED
OH yes
It's in RGO too unfortunately
yuck
Cuz ships in the future totally wouldn't be able to do that on their own, right?
apparently they made the game controller friendly because the dev likes to play with an Xbox controller
I tried and it didn't help much tbh
thinking
That makes me wonder how people play ED on PS4
(EDF IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT GAME LMAO)
Absolutely ridiculous to think that space ships that far in the future would have friggin buttons that instantly switch to combat mode or whatever, obviously it makes more sense to fuckin transfer power yourself every 3 seconds ๐ค ๐ค ๐ค ๐ค
right
NMS Has none of that garbage
Just fire your weapons and recharge your stuff as needed
I'm waiting for ED to finally die, the devs lied again and booted back fleet carriers another few months
....
No useful content in god knows how long, fleet carriers delayed, every decent way of making money nerfed to the ground........gg devs
Don't worry, half the game is locked behind a paywall still tho!

๐
yeah
cleet farriers delayed
so sad
:c

holy shit they're just releasing 3.7?...
I don't know how long its been since I decided to just stop caring about SC but I'm pretty sure 3.6 had been out for a while
what does 3.7 add?
... oh wow some of this is impressive
but I've said that in the past, and I don't feel like downloading ~100GB worth of game tonight
also in the scale of things this doesn't look like it's been worth the wait
It's that time of year again
should get those shoulders checked out
And the hat
i'm picking apart edgewater after another tech manual thing ๐
Control is $33 on Amazon rn

I love ADA's angry face
Destiny 2 on Steam was a mistake ๐๐๐

Supernova playthrouth complete
Nice!
new Radeon update adds better support for The Outer Worlds
but it breaks one thing
"Known Issues
The Outer Worlds may experience character models being rendered incorrectly on the inventory screen."
oof
Speaking of, though, I swear the character creator lighting doesn't match the inventory lighting
I thought I had made my character a paler complexion, but once started, they appear more tan, & I'm convinced it's all down to the lighting to some degree
but it's whatevs all things considering
Not like you see the character anyway
i love the fact that parvati/tali-esque engineer characters are the new waifus of the rpg community
Yeah the lighting is inconsistent when viewing items like weapons and armor
Sometimes it looks good, sometimes it's not bright enough
It kinda sucks there's no quicksave option. That was one of the benefits of the fallout/elder scrolls games. Elex had it as well.
Nothing on consoles

Theyd have to waste a whole button for saving, plus you could hit it accidently while dying
You have to reach for F5
Its far enough
Yeah there's no quicksave
At least not on Supernova there isn't
Now that I've finished Supernova I can do some stupid builds and have stupid fun
This'll be a fun one
Tanky idiot
I did silver tongued rogue for Supernova, this should be fun for a normal playthrough
Why did anyone even put this man on the Hope? Who knows
Barbarian playthrough, lol. All melee and defense ๐
Too little too late, lol

@lavish obsidian wait engineer women weren't always the best in RPGs (and basically every game)?
(And Firefly)
So with the whole "EA/Steam partnership" thing happening do y'all think the Dead Space and Mass Effect trilogies will be on Steam soon?
Yes
They added dialogue options that are shown by [Dumb] if you took low intelligence and I fuckung love it
My crew thinks I'm an idiot, but a loveable idiot
I accidentally fired one of my science weapons in the groundbreaker
Everyone kept firing me
So i did what i had to do
Killed everyone there except for the guy who stands sells the pass at the entry

That guy was really nice. I went to kill him but he didn't shoot me. So i let him live
Lol
It was accidental
I got the mind ray gun and was holstering it and it fired
Then it was chaos
Accidentally shot 48 people?
I'm not buying it, guilty!
So you are a monster
MONSTER
Did anyone else have a problem with getting the companion mission from Felix?
I killed all the iconoclasts, and then I had to kill them anyway for the MSI quest lmao
Mine autofails when I take it
I haven't ever kept Felix alive long enough to get his companion mission
Maybe you killed someone important to his quest
Nah, I googled
Gleam you should do a supernova playthrough btw
Haven't been where his quest takes me, or interacted with anyone where I have been able to go that should affect it
How odd
Only killed marauders and fauna
Parvati got real mad at me for killing Tobson ๐ฌ
I can follow the questline and get the various dialogue like it isn't botched, but no xp or rewards
But there was a [DUMB] option and it saved my bacon
The option was literally like "[Dumb] Sorry, sometimes I just get so confused."
i had to use google to get the science weapons since i killed gladys
Lol
And now that i murdered the whole station, idk how many missions i have to google here after lol

Knowing where the science weapons are makes the next playthroughs so easy
Don't have to look for information or anything
Literally just go get them
Also on my Supernova playthrough I had to kill like 6 Mega Mantiqueens and boy that is not fun
Regular Mantisaurs are hard on SN, Mantiqueens even more so
MEGA
Mega Mantiqueens? Might as well just give up
You complete the sanjar mission. You will get a 800dps weapon
Thats my favorite weapon noe
Now*
I put all my points to heavy weapon skill too
So its perfect
Most enemies die in 1 shot
And mantiqueen dies in like 20 bullets of it
I just ran away a lot and shot them with N-Ray weapons
And then ran away some more
TTD and N-Ray is a life saver on SN
And God once you get the Mind Control Ray? That gun is OP on SN
Because whilst it takes you like 10+ shots to kill an enemy
It only takes one from an enemy being mind controller
Yeah i did that when i initially went to monarch
I just ran through the entire place without firing lol
It's nice once you kill everything on Monarch, most things don't respawn
Some fauna does but outlaws and marauders dont
Same for Automechanicals
Oh that is nice i guess
Then Monarch is slightly more bearable
I actually am planning to murder the salvage unit in the freelook city
But overall on SN, fuck Monarch
And FUCK Tartarus on SN
That's like, every time you die you have to replay 30 minutes because there's no save points in SN on that planet
Terra monarch and sylla only i have unlocked so far
Scylla is a fun little place
Monarch is honestly probably my favourite place
I hope we unlock some more planets in the DLC to come
Like Hephaestus and Olympus
I beat the story in that much time ๐ฌ
I didn't even rush, I did quite a few side quest
I'm 16 hours in and just finished everything on Monarch ๐
Including the Cascadia bullshit with the expensive gas
I'm trying to finish every side thing before I leave a planet, only things I haven't done are a couple Tasks that look suspiciously like filler
For what?
Holy shit
Campaign pack 1 and 2 , multiplayer pack, special ops pack
You guys are way faster than me
I didn't really rush it, I did the side objectives that I came across first.
oh god damn
That's on normal, I saw literal no difference between normal/high/v.high and ultra.
Textures that is I mean.
thats pretty impressive
I'd share more but that's the least spoilery screenshot I have.
hows it run on pc?
No problem at all, my computer hasn't even run hot.
Colder side of warm.
I'll be grabbing it on Steam for sure, I'm hoping/assuming that there'll be DLC by then too.
๐
I'm hoping this is an intro to a freaking galaxy wide game - sequel could be massive
Would be easy enough to do tbh. Skip drive to a new star system. ๐คท
There are literally so many builds I want to do in this game
Gonna play so much of it
I have a theory about the in game universe that I'll share once more people have played.
Learnt today that max level is 30
Yes
๐
Kinda expected it to be higher
But it doesn't affect anything really.
70 more points
I also took far too long to find out that I can tinker with my guns and armor to increase stats.
Hex it took me until || Killing Adjutant Akande || to learn that
I'm not sure how many flaws you can take
I facepalmed so hard.
Originally on Supernova you were forced to take flaws but they removed that thank god
It'd make it unplayable
That would be hilarious
I also stupidly accepted a flaw early on that dropped my movement speed 30% and I lost the ability to jump dodge.
Oh yikes
Yeah very yikes
I took one today on my dumbass character that was -1 to mind attributes
My character already was -1 in mind attributes
He's SUPER brain dead now
I "assumed" wrongly that there'd be some sort of in game item that would allow me to cancel it out at some point or I'd gain it back.
Nup
I declined them all.
You do like 30% damage to each enemy type
It's disgustingly bad
But hey, perks amirite
Acrophobia is one
Lol
I had Mantiphobia offered to me
I was like nah mate they already take shit ton to kill
You can get something for taking a bunch of leg damage also, forget the name though
Paranoia is the only one I can remember being offered, I didn't pay attention to any of them after my legs got fucked up.
The leg damage one is the one I accepted.
I got permanent cranial damage
Lol
Or something like that
Shot in the head too many times
There's some addict ones too iirc
Take too many drugs and you can get a flaw that literally makes you worthless if you're not high
I personally found the inhaler things for health to easy to find, I didn't drop below x80 once I passed level 10.
Man they were super rare on Supernova
I only had a surplus at the very end of the game
Because you're using like 5 every fight on Supernova
I'll be running Supernova next, I had the urge to play FO:NV again so I started that again today.
Understandably
I'll go back to TOW once I've finished this run of NV.
TOW is gunna be a contender for my personal GOTY.
Supernova is stupid fun but don't even think about keeping any companions around
It is up there for me also
They will die
NO
I had a game bug that really pissed me off.
Parvati will never die
Parvati died before I even got my power regulator
She died in the first fight she was in
I'll reload and lose hours
Supernova is cruel
I was doing Parvati's companion mission and it failed cause she died.
She was part of my team and very much alive.
My Felix mission autofails when I accept it
Oh yikes
Still get the permissions for the landing pad, and dialogue, but says botched
I did Parvati + Max until I got the alcoholic with pink hair that I don't remember her name.
I was gonna name my band that
Nyoka
She also died immediately on Supernova
๐ฉ
SAM lasted the longest
I like how she gets drunk on the ship
ADA sounded bored telling you she's drunk again.
You guys are making a good argument for me never leaving Normal, lol. I hate hard difficulties in games ๐
ADA and || Hope || having a conversation was hilarious
"ADA, is your captain going to make a manual skip jump inside the system?"
"yes, that is exactly what my captain is going to do"

Because there was an option for if you had 80 Engineering and Intelligence that you could make the skip jump manually
And surprisingly I had that
Nope
Name yourself Alex Hawthorne
I wonder if the game has any special dialogue if you actually name yourself Alex Hawthorne
Lol
I'm Captain Kvothe, lol
HUD ๐คข
His companion mission was my favourite tbh
๐
I want to take SAM on that one
My favourite line of the whole game
All my companions wear heavy armor and use heavy weapons, lol
I didn't take SAM out with me at all.
I have them in pink armor
SAM is op
SAM is God
SAM and Nyoka is the OP team
All my companions use heavy guns and two handed melee weapons xD
Sam and Nyoka are hysterical, lol
Companions don't need ammo so I give them science weapons
Parvati has my shrink ray
Felix has the gloop gun
I gave everyone but Nyoka ultra assault rifles
Science weapons don't do dick for damage tho
Tinker
๐ฑ
I know!
I was level 1
I can only imagine how powerful my equipment could have been.
I'm aiming for the science skill level 80 attribute
Oh damn, very nice.
My stats are balanced.
I put nothing into melee or dodge/block
HEX SMASH
I do want to take my time exploring a little more next time, I didn't even see if I could climb the volcano.
||You can't ||
Expected
Barbarian playthrough with minimal everything but melee ๐
Or be a charismatic barbarian who only does melee and speech ๐
I think a sneaky thief could be a nice playthrough tbh
I'm leaving a ton of cash laying around with my Mr Nice Guy playthrough, I know that
I always do a mr nice guy first run.
Even in Fallout.
Well, any game I have the option.
Did you meet the NPC of that dude?
I can't fuckin wait, all my stats are going into melee and charm
He was such a joy to speak to.
Smooth-talking barbarians deserve more love, lol
@austere lance that's basically what I'm doing
Somebody should make their character look exactly like Phineas and do a 100% Intelligence build
Then claim the bounty on yourself.
Can you turn him in? Never tried the dialogue options about that
Would make for a short game, so probably not
I assumed it would be something like Farcry 4 where you could finish the game immediately.
Lol
There's an ending where you ||turn him in but not right off the bat||
Back in a few
That's the evil ||side with corporations|| ending
Have fun Gleam.
Yeah you can, but it still plays out the whole game
I'm sure the good ending will be the canon ending for the sequel
yeah i wonder if you can turn Phineas in right away. don't want to try
i want to save the moon head man
||You can't turn him in right away||
btw is there a way to peacefully walk among the marauders? like if you wear their full outfit that won't do the trick, will it?
I have no idea, I just kill em on sight ๐
||there's a quest where it would be advantageous to not have to do that, is why i ask||
try it
i only got the final piece I needed afterward, lol
oops
and it was, uh, through them
On my dumbfuck playthrough I haven't even reached Monarch and I'm already level 15. Crazy
other games are blasphemy
no u
yes u
I opened an Epic Mystery Grab Bag and got a fuckin Tangled Shore cloak
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I hope Tess gets captured by the vex
Actually
I have no problem with her now that it's F2P
okay so does Outer Worlds have any catchy muzak that gets jammed in ur brain wriggles?
because what critique of capitalism can exist without that
Spacers choice currently is the most catchy, but overall nothing is stuck in my head
yeah, i'm kinda waiting to get to the more consumer facing locales to see if I notice anything
oh outta nowhere, but @bronze wind, you had found grenade launchers in Outer Worlds, yeah?
They exist, yeah
Yee
gotcha, just know ya mentioned noticing the absence of grenades and was wondering if you'd found those
Yeah not the same thing
Grenades are the same as grenade launchers
Not really, grenade launchers in this game are just rocket launchers with an arc
Being able to throw a grenade and not have it take up an entire weapon slot and detonate immediately isnt what I was looking for lol
Fuckin oof @echo hill
https://twitter.com/bakenGangsta/status/1189338268854358017?s=19
momentum control makes 150rpm scout rifles one shot from any range. I dont know how it got past testing but my god its literally unplayable with people not moving at all. Its worse than current cod camping somehow.
118
Hopefully, lol
yeah no kidding
Short range snipers are absolutely heinous too, they one-hit anywhere
Revoker is disgusting
xenophage is good exotic kinda
I've heard it's not worth doing the quest and shoulda just been tossed in the loot pool
@bronze wind was kidding
kid me
๐ณ
That's illegal
momentum control is absolutely golden for scout rifles, i'm loving it
What the heck
There were a bunch of wooly cows on the unreliable and now they're gone
WHAT
Np
Random wooly cows on the ship is probably a Firefly reference, lol
No
I just wanted some fresh milk
The woolly cow part was because I like hair in my milk
It adds texture
And I like the feeling of pulling it out from my throat
hmm
Game should just be free by now haha
main reason i don't care for the game, only alpha and still expensive
so i just read in fallout 76 there is now war between premium and non premium players
Because people not paying for a shitty game yet still playing it are mad at other people for paying to play it because they possibly enjoy it for whatever reason.
Bout sums it up
Instead of the angry people idk... Not playing a game they hate so much
What!? Then what would they whine about?
I'm one of the weirdos that plays a game, and then if I don't like it - I stop playing that game
it's more about that player that pay suscrption get something
like being able to make your own server
which was always promised but never told you will need to pay for it
dunno if there are also other features hidden behind suscrption
also people think it's to expensive compared to other games with more content
something like that
People can spend their money on whatever they want
and since premium player get an icon they are easy to hunt
None of this makes attacking premium players any less petty or silly haha
"Rebel" lol
Its very rebellious hating on a popularly hated game ๐
Its nice to see people taking an avante garde stance
humans can be like that
That's a very balanced character, I'm surprised honestly
You don't see many balanced characters
nice cock
So are the marauders negotiable any time or they're just pretty much animals?
some are, throughout different parts of the story
xenophage not that good
but you can still collect it
the rpm is
sure the damage is strong but the practically is something similar to the leviathan breath
means kinda useless
I like how RPM=victory in fights during Momentum Control, lol. Unless we're talking scouts, then it's the opposite
Fuck, I just learned that you can get the ||Iconoclasts and MSI|| to work together in The Outer Worlds
Xenophage is good in pvp, tried it in private match yesterday
2 shots
rpm isnt that bad
its like 2 shots a second
i dont think so
it would be good if it got a bit more ammo
maybe 6 shots instead of 4
it's a two shot normally, and a 3 shot to roaming supers
i'd rather just stick with tractor cannon or a legendary heavy to use a primary exotic
the best thing about xenophage is that it makes short work of terrors in the haunted forest

@crisp sparrow She's the msin character in the campaign
W O W
Are they going to do what Destiny did with a really short main campaign and then filler online features?
?
Mainly D1 yeah
Although D2s main campaign was pretty short as well. It's a pretty huge game now
I like that the destiny campaigns now are a roll out thing
like
you get a shot of the campaign then you get bits of it
and lore
stuff
At this point yeah it's a great way of updating it
Apparently the Avengers game will have tons of online stuff like Destiny Strikes
I just want to be Ant-Man and grow as big as I can and then destroy the whole city with a swing of an arm
I can't wait to see 300 different loot tiers of Hulk's shorts, lol
Ha
Seriously, how is Hulk gonna have this loot crap
Maybe they will give him bracelets
What if...and this might sound crazy...they made a singleplayer Avengers RPG instead
No just a bracelet
I would rather have a single player version
More story content less BS
Lord and Savior gets mad whenever I bring up The Outer Worlds or he sees me playing it, lol. Irl version of the "Quit having fun!" meme ๐
Whoever that guy is, he's a jackass
He should be fed to mantisqueen
Yeah i mean it leaves me wanting in some aspects but it's still a very enjoyable game. No game has ticked every box for me so it's kind of a nothing statement.
Whenever something is popular there are always contrarians that want to be different
Yep
Gamer I know who your real father is
Who is it
๐ฌ
Darth Vader
He acted like that towards Destiny 2 til he actually played it, then he played an ungodly amount and surpassed my Light level in a week ๐
Now he's playing Modern Warfare and worships it
Yeah sounds like the kind of guy you would never really want to take advice from
Or pay any mind to
Idk if it's on purpose but Felix and Nyoka's companion quests go to the same places, you can basically do em both at once and cut down on travel time
There's a bunch of that stuff
I'm ready to die now, just caught ADA talking dirty to SAM in the cockpit ๐คข
How?!
Yeah I don't get that either
who plays RPGs for combat anyway, lmao
I'm enjoying Outer Worlds on the narrative beats more than much else so far
topkek
@cinder vessel I never thought I'd enjoy doing sidequests but moments like these make up for it
I loved that moment, lol
But I immediately afterward was like, "Wait this is the future, don't they have autotranslate tools for that that genuinely work?"
I saw where some game journos are pushing their articles about the first difficult choice in the game and I'm just like, guys, really, it's not that hard of a choice, especially if you were paying any attention.
It's because game journalists are avid and genuine gamers that they feel such a strong emotion to the game they play.
||I can only assume you speak of the electricity re-routing?||
Concerning the hard choice:
||-Spacer's Choice makes you pay recurring fees for your graves
-Spacer's Choice doesn't provide enough medicine to help afflicted workers
-Spacer's Choice keeps an inept boss around that "solves" the problem of lacking enough medicine...By encouraging sick workers to work harder to earn medicine
-Spacer's Choice keeps an inept boss around that is apparently using some mysterious meat in place of saltuna to meet production quotas, despite already having cut down on saltuna farming via heavier cans
-Spacer's Choice literally has a family separation policy in place that goes so far as to obfuscate the actual birth dates of their worker's children, and prevents parents from naming & caring for their children together
-Spacer's Choice has a communal punishment policy for suicide due to it being considered "destruction of company property" encouraging workers to come up with alternative explanations for worker deaths||
But also yeah Hex
Yeah it wasn't that hard of a decision for me tbh
However, when you look at the issue with aforementioned details, it's not a real choice unless you're a fucking asshole imo
For basically the reasons you listed.
New dungeon is EZclap
Like don't get me wrong, you can miss some of those details if you're strapped for time and trying to get a review in, so I understand that, but several of those are thrown in your face one way or another
For instance even if you do the very first quest, you can kinda miss the details on the ||communal punishment for suicide policy||
TBH there was only one time I sat and thought about the decision I was about to make before making it.
I didn't pick up on that until I went back and talked to some of the folks associated with that quest again after some other detail surfaced talking to someone else
Also, fuck the shopkeeper in Edgewater, that guy's such a tool
Hahaha
Maybe there's some way to get him to flip and be real, but I certainly didn't find it
I finally encountered a quest where there's no good way to end the conversation peacefully. The only way to end it peacefully is to be a bastard
High level flamethrowers with 1300+ ammo are godly btw

For once in the damn game taking the moral high road involves killing everyone ๐ฉ ๐ฆ ๐ฆ
Take Felix with you when you do the preacher's final companion quest btw, you won't be disappointed ๐
Also for what it's worth the Botanical Labs immediately have a way better vibe than Edgewater. Like first quest in Edgewater: be a fucking debt collector. First quest over in the Botanical Labs: ||find a missing person that bribed their way among the Marauders because she wanted to be an Outlaw Queen, lmao||
Edgewater blows, I barely did anything in that hell-hole of a town. I helped out the hippies tho
Tbh they're not even hippies to me so much as, "Yeah, we're not idiots, Edgewater's shit"
I've learned enemies don't level with you, I'm level 21 and just went back to Emerald Vale for a mission and wrecked every enemy I found in half a second ๐
The flamethrower takes no prisoners and fears no one
I've got 500 heavy ammo and a high level light assault rifle modded to shoot plasma rounds, armored lads should run in fear xD
I kept meaning to check, does ammo count against encumbrance? I'm thinking no, but yeah, just never checked
I don't think so.
Nope
So do y'all use light, medium, or heavy armor? I use a mix of light and medium
Wow I didn't think too much of the choice and just ||gave power to the lovely old woman and her garden||
Also wtf good thing I didn't pick the other one wow what a bunch of bs
I keep forgetting there are different armor weight classes, lol
I picked up a random soldier suit from a container I lockpicked & have been using it, lol
I got a nice heavy armor from searching some of those abandoned settlements
I REALLY like how I get XP from just finding points of interest
I have so much friggin armor in my inventory even tho all of my companions besides the medic have full heavy sets, I really need to break some of this shit down for parts ๐
After 6 hours in the game I learned the pod suit has a helmet, lol
That I guarantee 90% of people don't find til after Monarch cuz there's basically no reason to go where the helmet is til then
They got a power up thing like fire, electric etc
And by then the helmet is low quality af compared to what you're wearing
For those low level people who want the helmet when it's still useful, it's in Phineas's lab
๐ฉ
I'm still doing odd quests from Edgewater folk
Now doing a quest for that John Connor guy
I don't have the hacking level for opening the door ๐
@winter yew Give shrink ray to a companion so you can attack tiny people yourself without trying to switch weapons before they grow back to normal size, lol
There's a John Connor guy?
Tbh I just store all my science weapons in the captain's cabin on the ship
Oh nvm
Can bypass with a key
@austere lance that guy who is at the landing zone
Ludwig Miller
Hates robots and is expecting them to rise up
Ah, he's a weird one.
Lol, I forgot about him. I still haven't done his quest cuz I was waiting for my Engineering skill to be 55+ so I can fix the robot he wants dead
I'm higher than that now but I keep forgetting to talk to the robot
The first robot? I killed it ded
๐ฎ
I wanna know what happens when I fix it
||He wipes out all the robots and helps you out later in the game.||
Ah well maybe next playthrough
I'm doing another playthrough this weekend me thinks.
My first right now
"Town's been dark a while now. Could be a mechanical trying to sabotage us."
Shut the fuck up Ludwig
||giving power to edgewater turned out to be the better choice because I made topson leave and the plant lady took over edgewater||
man I was having a tough time making a decision there, but it all worked out
smh my head
no i shake MY head
||made tillybop leave means murder right||
TOW got me playing FO:NV though ๐ฉ
Weeeeeeeeeeee
Hoping I can finish it by Friday so I can jump back on TOW for the weekend.
It's definitely a gem in the rough.
I should give New Vegas a try, but I keep telling myself the jank may be too high for me
the main issue was the framerate drop on ps3
Official is super jank but unofficial mods unjank it.
otherwise, it's worth it
Ok finally gone off the damn planet
I just remember tweaking Fallout 3 to get it working and it still kept crashing and just haven't felt very much like going another round with New Vegas setup
Oh lord, now you're to the more open part of the game ๐ @crisp sparrow
Heh
Maybe the new GPU I got a bit ago might make Fallout 3 crash less thanks to more operational leg room so to speak, but I dunno...
GOG versions do fix a hell of a lot.
Oh?
Yes.
I picked them up before they were available on there, and didn't research enough to see if they had changed much
Yeah a good amount, they patched a good amount of issues but obviously some do still remain.
FONV the issue I had it would randomly crash when I was moving to a new area but I can honestly say the unofficial YUP + Stutter Remover has fixed it completely.
To the point I have zero issues now.
Huh, well damn, might have to consider getting them again via GOG and obvs running the unofficial patches, see how it goes from there
FO3 I didn't even need to patch at all for GOG.
I've been thinking about it anyway, considering I do prefer GOG/Itch where possible, but always a little reluctant to repurchase things
hahahah
Yeah absolutely, I picked them up for almost pennies. Something stupid like ยฃ2.99 each.
Sohail, you enjoying it I take it?
thanks for the info btw Hex, next time I see them on sale I'll pick them up
honestly passed on their last sale because I was still pretty sure they were mostly the same as the Steam versions
Sales are silly prices, more or less pocket change, plus all DLC if you care for that. ๐คท
Don't bother playing it without Broken Steel
I got GOTY edition
Good, lol
Is it it the drab af color scheme ๐
I bet it has good mods that fix a lot of stuff, too bad I'm on console ๐ข
Yes ๐
TOW is stupid fun
Solid game, hard GOTY contender
But D2 ekes it out for me
- Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
- The Outer Worlds
- Outer Wilds
Actually 2 and 3 are interchangeable
Jesus it's already 2am
Kept playing nonstop
@winter yew yeah I'm loving it so far
I can't wait to go back to it tbh. Whilst I'm on FONV I keep debating just hopping back to TOW.
I got no work on right now so I'm trying to make the most of just playing as many games as I possibly can.
TOW > FONV > TOW > FO3 > TOW > ME1 > ME2 > ME3 > ME:A
Is what I'm thinking.
What's ME
Mass Effect
For mining and digging.
Are they useful or just funny weapons
Just weapons unless I too missed anything.
I have a pair of shears that are a melee weapon, lol
My friend's character in TWO is an absolute unit xD
username checks out
Wow, that guy I told you about from earlier is NOT happy I'm recommending TOW to someone over CoD ๐ฌ
To be fair, I dropped the earlier conversation til he scared someone from trying TOW because he kept saying it was shit. The person who wanted to try TOW is now wary of it and not sure
Have you played SoT before?
SoT?
sea of thieves
ohh ok
good luck
Do it, 90% of my time playing was solo ๐
I soloed the alpha, I mostly soloed the betas, and soloed full release
sea of thief
@iron inlet think for me game of the year stuff might roughly be:
-Control
-Outer Wilds (even without having finished it yet, one of the early puzzle-ish things just totally seals it for me)
-Crossniq+
Enjoying Outer Worlds but nothing has really firmly grounded it as, "Aww yeah, this is wicked" for me yet. I also should really play Heaven's Vault & Anodyne 2, as I feel like both of them may jump into this mix.
Oh and Pathologic 2, remake of Pathologic, is something I should pick up at some point.
Man, if you're at all interested in smaller/indie games, this has been a really great year.
i need to get crossniq
It's really fun, takes some getting used to, but once you do you just get into it
And I imagine it's excellent on the Switch for on the go play
Plus if you have friends into puzzle games, it has a local vs. mode you can dig into
Btw, have any of you checked out Crying Suns? It seems really cool from the demo, but haven't felt like picking it up just yet
I don't know 90% of the games you name cuz they're either not on Xbox, hella indie, or both ๐
Yeah, usually a lot of both
The only games I recognized were Outer Wilds and Control, lol
I typically mention them 'cause we all already know/talk about the more popular crossplat games, lol
Tbh the indie-est game I've played in months is Dead Cells
Uhh, huh. So apparently the new Steam library update thing is live, and going through the change log, they have an image of NMS as an example for the everything about a game in one place change to things, lol
nice
what
yay pre load of rdr2 finally started.
turns out for 108 gigs it's surprisingly ok. it's supposed to take me 18 hours. ๐
Was predicting up to 3 or 4 days. ๐
:v
