some of the really good big mods take a long time to make even for 1.12 so for them to adopt to the massive changes in 1.13/1.14 will take them time

I use MultiMC because of Forge updates screwing up on the vanilla launcher, so I have a 1.12.2 instance for mods and a 1.14.4 instance for vanilla. That's the way I solved it as most of my mods replace the 1.13/1.14 features.

In regard to cross-play : I believe there are games that have cross-play, such as Rocket League, that only pair you up with players who are using controllers, in competitive game modes..
and I've heard of that for other games such as Fortnite, though that's mostly a mobile/controller difference
so maybe that will happen with the PS4 cross-play

Depends on how you build your Warlock, lol. You can be an absolute monster draining life from everyone you melee and dropping massive Void bombs, a flaming death wizard throwing flaming swords everywhere while flying around, or a Sith Lord shooting lightning from your hands
