@nova saffron delayed response, but as Ghostcart and I were discussing about the beaver race, it's not difficult because of design, it's difficult because of poor controls. Better controls would have made it easy as could be.

In fact, the first race is largely a breeze, it's the second race where they get a tad stupid and think their controls are better than they are that it becomes troublesome

@winter yew Played some more Control on base PS4, and they're 100% right that it hits some rough patches when there's a lot of effects flying on-screen, but it seems weirdly specific to a certain set of effects. I say that 'cause I can easily throw stuff about no slowdowns whatsoever, but if I throw just the right thing or it collides with the right things, oof city right there

But for the most part it runs smooth as hell

And the slowdowns seem to be from the usual on just about any hardware I've played games on: particle effects/lighting. That shit's rough on hardware even these days

Nowadays you're boned if you're downloading from a disc because the disc isn't even the full game, your console still has to download however many updates and stuff have came out since the game released. And consoles like to try download all of this at once. The only way to get around that is to completely disconnect your console from the internet, install the game by itself from the disc, then reconnecting your internet and installing the updates by themselves
