The fact that KotOR II is one of the highest-rated games of all time and still has a huge following 14 years after release says something about it, I'm sad the only successor it got was an MMO. It very much set up a third (final) game

My biggest issue with games like that is honestly far less even the multiplayer aspect, tho I do have my misgivings with that which I've mentioned around here before time & again, but more that online games like that make me feel partially obligated to keep playing to keep up with anything and I hate that feeling
