The only issue I had was the audio was being played back at a different sampling rate than the actual audio was recorded at, cause of some setting in my sound device

I think I figured out why the review I saw was disappointed with the hordes - the game doesn't make you fight any of the established hordes, and they only get marked on your map after the story. But you can find them long before that

I 100% agree but one of the huge positives of the way it changed is that bugs in games that would otherwise be permanent are now patched to fix, we also see games being extended with new content which previously was not possible.
The downside is downloading patches before you can even play the game which is shitty for people with limited date.
