i've seen that like...everywhere, and my reaction is always just, "okay"
It's the only thing ever to have easter eggs from Minecraft, Splosion Man, Super Meat Bot AND Bit.Trip
and uh
i love all the old game references tbh 😛
Sonic, Megaman, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future
The game genie
Too many to count
references 😩
also finding the sword and shield was awesome
Maaan, I haven't played in ages
its got a silly plot
and the mini-game rampages hidden throughout the map are a great challenge
im also partial the soundtrack because he got three decent chiptune rock artists to make music for the game
Virt, Norrin_Radd, Freaky DNA
Virt has done a lot soundtracks for indie games, some of which you may have heard of . https://virt.bandcamp.com/
Ooo
no wait he did a remix of the album
https://dbsoundworks.bandcamp.com/album/crypt-of-the-necrodancer-ost this is who did Necro
damn that's good ❤
Will have to buy that when I have the extra money
Yup, Danny did the original
But a few people remixed it and those were thrown in the game too
You can set soundtracks per-character which is neat
thats awesome
I have the game on Steam
I should get around to checking it out x)
from a humble bundle i think
You should, it's great
lol apparently it's also on vita
yea that looks like a fun game
like something i would've gotten sucked into in the late 90s on pc
they had all those weird dungeon games back then
Oh yeah, they did
Necrodancer is weird
All the enemies have easy patterns, but it gets intense when there are a ton of them and you're forced to make moves with the beat
Shopkeeper is best 👌
Holy shit, no wonder Prey has NG+. There's an absolute fuck-load of abilities and perks to unlock!
Oh god, I see ones that let you summon Typhons from dead bodies. Alien necromancer here I come 😂
well i think the only people that have stuck with it are super familiar w/ it & kind of just wreck anyone new...?
Yeah .. just checking..don't wanna pay $30 bucks to keep spawning into death traps
i may be wrong, to be fair, but i haven't seen a ton of talk of people still playing it and that's the usual story with multiplayer games like that
oh, well, it has far more people still playing than i realized:
https://steamcharts.com/app/252490
Nice
MAAAAD
Not as terrible as the rusty bucket above tho
Hey it's a good rusty bucket.
That's a lovely example of death mobile
Thats a bucket that can cause serious infection incase you get scratched
Especially for a world like mad max
Well have you seen chumbucket?
No
Gross
Fix the cah
Black thumb extraordinaire
Is that who plays in mad max?
He hangs on the back of your car and follows you around.
Wow i would never want him around
He's sidekick I guess.
Yes you would, he has great aim
Looks like dobby the elf got a disease
That little hunchback can mess cars up
Plus, he needs a place to live now- his home burnt down
TOO SOON
😦
Took me a while to notice why he calls the dog Dinky Di.
Then I noticed the dog food brand as I was eating it.
"Ohhhhhh."
Strange fellow
Also, I never worked out if the dude you take tokens to is real or not.
I'm still undecided.
I love the explosions SO much.
Have you beaten the game Hex?
Yeah a few times.
Kinky
He's real
Beating the game
Lol
Boooom
I mean Mad Max 😛
I'm gunna be grabbing Rage 2 for sure, I also only found out last week it releases in May.
I thought it was releasing end of the year. 🤷
GameFly has Mortal Kombat on the way, days gone later this week - and I kept Sekiro to make room for Rage 2
The last time I played mortal Kombat, I got hate mail for beating people with skorpion
And I replied with my age - to make them feel even worse about it
Yee
I'm trying to recreate the boar carrying scene in dreams
It's not going well at all
Like, in any way
😦
I wonder if sculpting is easier with the move controllers.. hmmm
!!!!!!!!
I missed the Mad Max discussion 😭
@winter yew
Gonna throw some of my screenshots for Hex when he sees the notification ;P
OMG, beautiful 👌
I love Mad Max, so underrated.
😄
I'm glad you like
I wanna play it again if I'm being honest.
Think I'm gunna play this weekend.
oh, frontier
Someone leaked a "roadmap" with a ton of Frontier stuff and this was on the list.
Coz that game is exactly like this when i played it a year ago
Link pls @winter yew
I'm beginning to write off frontier's games at this point, not due to their quality, but business decisions
I just noticed planet coaster has denuvo, which probably means this will too
I think all AAA games will have it
which makes them all annoying af
the whole point of the steam compromise was to obviate that trash
without that being respected, there's no longer as much of a point to rely on steam
@meager panther - reddit post is gone but it did exist.
Gaming site that did pick it up: https://www.pcgamesn.com/frontier-roadmap-leak-deleted
fuck the FOMO and just write the games off until they hit GOG, or just play on console because fuck it
I just noticed the hilarious typo.
"Planet Dangerous"
`
-Planet Coaster: Ghostbusters DLC
-Jurassic World: New islands, dinos, etc. DLC
-Elite Dangerous: Space legs,
New Projects:
-Planet Zoo: new game based on Planet Coaster
-Jurassic World 2
-Planet Coaster 2
-Jurassic World Survival: Jurassic Park survival game
-Project Macaroni: A new real time strategy game
`
Wow three Jurassic world games being worked on
😩
Finally
Well one is released and apparently its a failure
So JWE2 and a survival game based on Jurassic world
Finally
Nice
I will get both the JW games
Whenever it releases
🤷
Also project macaroni

Rename it to project pasta and it will be a success
Project macaroni sounds like the villain from that Jurassic world movie lol

Well he is not a villian
But still lol
If they release a pasta simulation game with controls similar to Octodad, I'd buy it tbh.
Yeah that should be called land legs then
Honestly, that's a pretty fair point.
but what if you can also now do spacewalks
omg yes
When in reality it allos you to finally walk on planets
X4 nailed the spacewalks.
splanded legs?
They're trying for planetary biomes too.
Atmospheric landings etc.
Well, so says rumors from waaaay back.
I've done around 90 hours playtime.
tbh i'd just stick with space engine
Here is the announcement trailer for Hindsight 20/20, a stylish hack and slash made by BioWare, ArenaNet, and Sucker Punch veterans at Triple-I Games!
that's a game
does it come out in 2020
lol with that intro i expected a narrative game
hmmm
The Crimson Moon Appears! Drawing clans from Atlas and beyond to partake in the infamous Outlaw Games. And surprise, the legendary Star Fox Team joins the fi...
I really wish they would bring Starlink to PC.
For some more details:
https://starlink.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/news-videos/347994/the-crimson-moon-appears-
Tbh at this point it wouldn't hurt
Although they'd need to make sure they removed the StarFox content thoroughly, otherwise you know people would work on enabling access to it and that would probably upset Nintendo
Oh wait what:
https://starlink.ubisoft.com/game/en-gb/news-videos/348652/starlink-battle-for-atlas-comes-to-pc
talk about a sneak announcement, this was courtesy of the Starlink Discord folks catching it
Just fyi, keep an eye out for how they're selling it tho
Oh?
If they sell a starter pack thing, don't go for that
Go for whichever nets you all the ships, weapons, & pilots or at least the initial batch
It wasn’t on pc before?
How awesome
They were really gunning for their toys to life model working & that didn't do well enough
But yeah, definitely give it a look, just don't get played by Ubi's marketing
What do you do ib the game?
Dogfight, build up a resistance to an evil force, scan animals & do odd jobs along the way
Yeah the toy fad kinda died with sky landers and ammibo
Hmmm

In some ways, except for on-foot exploration, & more custom basebuilding, it sorta addresses some NMS fans' desires
Looks cool
Like you can snap together custom ships from different ship pieces, and with Crimson Moon you'll even be able to repaint the ships
The entire selling point of nms for me was the on foot stuff, so it doesn't really appeal to me without that lol
The customization is cool though
If its always on ship only
.thats a bit iffy
Like i totally like the planets i see
The art style is great
Didnt know you where a Radiohead fan
Zoidad
You said the selling point of nms was the "foot stuff"
i'm still confused, lol
but honestly if you like planet exploration it's still p. good for that
easily some of the best scifi space game planet exploration that isn't ded planets
Nah I like walking around
it's kind of funny because they sorta have to scale things up a little so it's on par or as appealing as it would be on-foot, lol
really tho i don't know of any other games like this atm
The paint stuff or the parts stuff?
Paint stuff is new & hopefully won't be a nasty grindfest thing, but nobody knows yet
Parts stuff is iffier, if you just up & get deluxe edition (or however they're handling it on PC) you can nab all the ships & weapons w/o buying each individually in a weird pseudo-mtx style
meh idk then
I'd rather them be locked and rewarded during gameplay
unless that's the case and you can only unlock them if you've purchased them
yeah no, i absolutely agree on that, unfortunately that's not how they do it. Instead they have this whole ship/weapon mods system where you can customize how effectively you use the different parts
i think if they hadn't gone with the toys to life approach they probably would have done a more typical unlock system, sadly just not the case
in some ways i don't mind too much tho, as it means i don't have to do whatever Ubi-grind they may have come up with to get them, but then they've just offset that to mods so it's not much of a win
insect glaive best
Although I respect everyone's choices of weaponry
even if they're clearly inferior
fingernails are a legitimate weapon of choice
Tf is an insect glaive
I just killed a great jaga with a katana
I switched to playing Prey
wow rood
Wtf even is the helmet you use in space in Prey, lol. It's all geometric and weird
anyone here play battletech?
on a different but similar-ish note, GOG's having an indie game sale:

nice
I can now turn into a trashcan in Prey, my dream of cosplaying as @meager panther is complete xD
That's so aggressive dude
Thanos knows I love him, lol
I love Skyrim, but Bethesda is making me hate everything they are associated with.
Am I the only one that thinks they're going downhill?
where were you a month or two ago, lol
a general wariness has been spreading since fallout 76, and for those paying attention to mobile, elder scrolls blades hasn't been very reassuring either
secret p2w scheme for fallout 76 and the obvious p2w scheme for blades
saw it
idk what the hell they are thinking man
Good lord some of these Typhon fucks are OP
Going downhill isnt how id put it since I already thought they were going downhill with Skyrim haha
That vid gave me chills. And it makes me so happy to have supported that game and community.
What the Frost is Fade to Silence? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbmHGglpYcU
Wow, that actually looks worth playing.
Hahaha
Does look interesting though
https://store.steampowered.com/app/706020/Fade_to_Silence/ - Been in Early Access since 2017 apparently.
I've not even heard of it 🤷
The last time I saw it, it didn't mention names - or the daughter
Pretty sure it was pc only also
Woot
That game, Rage 2 and Starlink: Battle For Atlas.
I almost picked up starlink with the spring sale - 24 bucks, deluxe version
Nice
Completely unrelated, I got a very keen eye on an indie game called Spacebourne.
I'm following progress very regular.
SpaceBourne is a Space Simulation / Arcade / Open World / RPG game. SpaceBourne’s universe has over 100 Solar Systems, over 400 planets and 37 landable Space...
Very cool
Just one guy though.
So development isn't super quick but he is updating regular.
That sounded so contradicting.
Reminds me a bit of Rodina
Maybe not the game play as much but the one developer neat little space game thing
I enjoy Rodina.
I once found some little hoverbike type thing but never managed to find them again.
I played a demo a few years ago when I was waiting for nms
I picked it up for maybe £5
Yeah it's a cheap boi
Seems pretty laid back in Dev updates on steam too
I think I see he's working on a story mode, I'm quite looking forward to that.
Yeah I remember seeing a bit of something about that
No lie though, I have to play with enemy difficulty on easy.
I should pick it up again and see what's new
the ship in the newspaper in that video looks like the ship from District 9
Big oof, the reviews for Days Gone are out 😬
6/10
expected that
I haven't seen a game get "generic and boring" thrown at it this much in awhile, lol
There are others over that lol
But yeah ign gave 6/10
It's another zombie game so I wasn't expecting rave reviews tbh
I haven't even found IGN's review, just all the ones by Gamespot/The Verge/etc
There's a whole Reddit megathread for it
It ranges from 8/9 out of 10 down to like 1.5 out of 5
I'll just watch some gameplay if I ever feel like buying another zombie game
But by that point I'll probably get dying light 2
In a lot of ways, Days Gone reminds me of the original Watch Dogs. Both star a terminally unlikable character and offer players a huge, open playground full of incredibly dull things to do. Days Gone has the skeleton of a good game, but the rest is so forgettable that it ultimately feels like a tragic waste of resources. Not exactly bad, just boring.
Maybe the content updates will help out. I read they have one soon, maybe June or something
Ooof
Basically what I expected tbh
Bleh those types of games are a waste of time
but guys, they're freakers not zombies /s
Oh.
Oh
okay but if you could hack the zombies that would be much cooler
More like
Watch dogs looks like the most uninteresting game imaginable to me
zombies
No thanks
Unless it's dying light 2
Dying light is like the only zombie game I've enjoyed playing
I love Dying Light.
and even that's banking a lot on the new writer, at least imo
If they keep the same feel plus all of the new stuff mentioned, I'll love it
I didnt care so much about the story anyway
but i never got into the first, having never picked it up
First one was nice, was only one mission that I hated.
A ton of accidental jump scares.
i knew from what i read the gameplay probably wouldn't carry me
Watch Dogs was dry af, following its "boring af open world with an unlikeable main character and godawful stealth missions" game design is a bad idea whether it's a zombie apocalypse game or not
I rarely venture outside at night time in Dying Light.
and without a story to make up for that, the whole thing probably wouldn't keep me going
The night time zombies on DL are insane.
I loved the basic premise of Watch Dogs, but 1 was such a bad first attempt
I tried liking Dying Light but I really didn't need Dead Island with parkour in my life, lol
1 was bad tbh
The gameplay was almost there but the story was such a drag
I never finished Watch Dogs, I quit after like 3 hours
I finished both.
Hex, did you play the following expansion in DL?
I'm semi-interested in 2 cuz it's supposedly better
Yes Zoid.
I'm stuck with some super fancy Enhanced Edition of Dying Light that I don't want, lol
Watch Dogs 3 is supposedly set in London, that's gunna be real interesting to see how that works out.
Being outdoors at night is 😩 oh god oh fuck
Lmao
Dude, when the watch alarm beeps I just run for the safehouse closest to me.
"Nope"
Cuz Microsoft won't refund me even tho I've only played for an hour and 5 minutes
I wish Watch Dogs had gone for fictional near future cities structured more heavily around the idea of a network integrated city, rather than old cities augmented by the networks
I liked the concept of watch dogs, even the modern city sort of setting, it just didn't seem to be what I expected based on what I saw
TBH, San Francisco is tech hub of the world so that location does make sense.
London has most surveillance cameras globally, so that to does make sense.
yeah for sure, but it also limits their creativity in some respects
they can't just invent points of interest as much, gotta feature some of the notables
I guess, if the premise was hackers in a modern city then that's just how the game is designed.
It sounds more like you just don't like that setting, rather than it limiting them
That being said I do think they could've been more creative even with that settinf
it's obviously very near future, i'd just be more interested in seeing that pushed ahead a little further into the future and with totally original cities
Ah I see what you're saying.
Hmm, forgot there's a free trial for Watch Dogs 2 on Xbox. I'll try that once I get my One S with more space
and yeah, it's a mix of not liking the setting but also preferring original locations even more generally
In a way horizon zero Dawn is a better hacking futuristic game lmao
tbh it's as much in how Ubisoft approaches those settings as it is the settings themselves. Like Deus Ex uses some real locations and then just goes kinda crazy with them
lol kinda yeah
If they're gonna keep making the games in modern times they should push for doing em in China or Japan, somewhere full of tech companies and really crowded
Deus ex games are great
Horizon is certainly more creative
I want a third Deus Ex 😢
Unfortunately Cyberpunk probably killed any hopes of that
How
Cyberpunk is literally just Deus Ex on steroids, there'll be nothing left for DE to do after it comes out
It could also be shit, or not play the same.
I know there's more than 2, lol. The original games came out in the 90's
They're different games and different worlds
If you wanna stop playing Deus ex cause cyberpunk comes out that's cool, but it doesn't mean they'll just stop making the games lol
Competition isn't a bad thing
lmao @austere lance thinking a single game named Cyberpunk will take up all the conceptual space of a subgenre has to be the silliest thing I've seen from you yet
not to be rude, that's just a what statement
It's like saying "why make fantasy games after Witcher 3"
p. much
LMAO
Geralt good
Idk who geralt is but i see he is popular in memes
Main character of the Witcher games
pack it up bois, Star Citizen's got space games figured out
Oh but but but 😦
I don't wanna be an ass about it, I just don't agree at all
Just please keep it civil guys.
Cyberpunk also isn't even out yet so making grand statements like that isn't super fair imo
one game to rule them all
It literally just looked like Deus Ex on steroids, it even has the gangs of Harvesters running around chopping people up for parts. Both are full of choices and revolve around you replacing your parts and upgrading your augs cybernetic shit. It's even full of hacking and crap
I can't wait to play Cyberpunk.
Sure, it looks good, but I still have that spot in my heart for Deus ex
^
those are honestly just general aspects of the broader cyberpunk genre tho
Just make each gane have a portal so that you can seem less ly transistion between the game worlds
ever since Neuromancer & such
My dream game was a GTA styled game where you could travel around the world.
Australia
is it in Watch Dogs 2
I think its in africa
because maybe @meager panther really just wants to pet dogs in Watch Dogs 2 near the bay
are you sure
Well anyway my pee break is over. Bye lol
Bye
-First-person RPG that revolves around you replacing your bodyparts with augments
-Plenty of choices and characters
-Large fancy neon-filled city
-Lots of hacking mini-games
-Harvester gangs running around hacking people up for their augs
-Gruff main character
-Fancy augments that let you see through walls/hack from a distance/etc
Yes.
prey is that u
But that's like comparing GTA with Saints Row.
The entire time I was watching the Cyberpunk gameplay I was just thinking "This is Deus Ex with extra steps"
and it probably runs a lot better than the new Deus Ex
True, lol
I couldnt run it for the love of me
Honestly the only difference I saw was the shooting was better, you had more choices, and for some reason you got to watch yourself get new augs put in you in first-person. And you can drive
And it's "true" open world.
You even have arm-blades, lol
They also said what we saw is a lot different to what it is now.
New trailer assumed in June.
tbh i feel like they kinda rushed the last Deus Ex from everything i read about it
The last Deus Ex absolutely was rushed.
Tho hopefully Cyberpunk doesn't do the stupid mini-cutscenes every time you do a takedown
I "extended demo'd" it and still felt robbed.
I love Deus Ex but good lord I hate those
how did you feel about the less predictable ones in Skyrim, lol
If that shit's in DE 3 I'm out, lol
now those were annoying af
You can at least turn those off in Skyrim
Or lower the amount of times they happen, if you're weird and still want them sometimes
I like how Adam Jenson's VA is in Deus Ex and Far Cry Primal 😄
Oh Far Cry Primal.
I really enjoyed that game then about 12 hours in it just stopped being fun.
Like the game didn't know what to do next.
If that makes sense
Hahaha
pls we're tired
They got the scale of the mammoths pretty nice, crouched down next to one and looking up at it was kinda intimidating.
in VR
😩
Can I just say that the premise of MH World is funny af, lol? "Join this merry society of people with giant-ass over-complicated weapons who beat the shit out of dinosaurs! Have fun making new ridiculous weapons out of dino body parts!"
I picked the katana cuz it's apparently a good combo weapon and it turned out to be at least 8 feet long xD
Hahaha when worded like that.
I was like "Cool, katana should be nice and basic with a little bit of range."
Then I took it to the training yard and saw that it was twice my size
This switch axe thing is fun
Not entirely sure why I have to reload it
When I'm slapping a dino with an axe-sword the last thing I expect to pop up on-screen is a reload prompt
I use insect glaive because it's clearly the best weapon
lol
not just a long sword on a stick, but also a bug
it has it's advantages yea
a bug that sucks monster juice and feeds it to you like a mama bird
lmao.
Switch Axe deals massive damage, thats why you have to stop and 'recharge' it once in awhile
I would but I'd be at a clear advantage
I tried the longsword but I can't suss it out
Well yeah but like
I threw myself into the air one time and I don't know how to do it again
and then occasionally hit "Running Stab" to get Spirit Helm Breaker
you have to do the running stab
and then you can get the Spirit Helm Breaker
How often does it
Ohhh
I should try it again
Since most people I talk to have two weapon mains
I either run Longsword or Dual Blades
Fun fact about Jiiva
I got DC'd during the cutscene, so I thought it was a mechanic that you couldn't fire an SOS flare
and I thought you had to solo Jiiva
so I did
Lol
Same, but like I said
I solo’d that thing with a light bowgun
EZ
What a pain in the ass that was
He has such a predictable moveset once you learn it
Yeah
but then so does every monster
Stand under him
I was so damn pleased when I started to learn Nergy
worst monster imo is still Lunastra
Yes
I wanna fight a Luna but I still can't take on Teo reliably
Nah man he blows
I struggled with him a bit yea
It took me so long to kill him
Because he permanently reduces your health
if you run out of nulberries it's like
It was my shortest elder dragon kill, around 10 minutes or so the first time
Yikes
Nah Vaal fucked me all the ways for the longest time
Kushala is ez clap
Kushala is Flash Pod: The Game
lmao
Kushala: flies
Hunter: "Fuck u"
KUSHALA TOOK ME 49 MINUTES 57 SECONDS
yikers
lmao
Rip
Longsword fucks Kushala
you just stand in her gut and blind her
stabby stabby jumpy slashy stabby
Probably why Vaal was easier for you Woop, you didn't have to be on the ground
as a Longsword user, Vaal is cancerous
I suppose I should start bringing flash pods to more than just Behemoth attempts
because the second you get close and get one combo off you're dead
I remember the first time I took on the two Bagelgeese
Dude that fucked me infinitely
That fight blows lol
I just got that mission and I'm too afraid to do it
I ended up running around and letting them fight each other and took potshots at them when I had flash pods
I don't even know what a regular tempered monster is
Bagelgoose is the worst monster
He always has to join the party
Noone:
Bagelgoose: "WATCH OUT BELOW"
If he’s on the map you can guarantee he’ll scream HAY YOU GUYZ
I stopped playing just when Pickle released
and his roar is so damn loud
the worst is when Bagel flies through Odo's pathing
But he has a cool theme
you're having fun slapping Odo to the ground and then suddenly Bagel
I learned to love Odo while I was farming him
BAGEL
Edit:2/7/18 Last night YouTube Age Restricted and tried to give me a strike for posting a video that "insights violence." I fought back the strike but my vid...
Yeah bagel
Odo is such a weird fight
XD
some people had loads of trouble on Odo
He likes to carpet bomb the entire god damn area
and then some people clapped him
lmao
monster hunter world should have an inexplicable gundam crossover event where you have to take down a gundam
I would fucking love that
imagine if part 3 of BEYOND was Monster Hunter Universe
My first High Rank mission and this happens MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD™ https://store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/tid=CUSA07713_00
This is where you can see him better and hear his roar
My favorite bit is seeing that quick shadow of him flying over
Then WOAARRR!!
I usually see his egg thingies and then freak out
Those pods can be pretty dangerous because he’ll try to divebomb them to detonate them
And focus on his head and legs and tail if possible
head, legs, tail, just hit the whole damn thing 😛

Whoever thought of this Nightmare Typhon in Prey deserves to be hung by their toes
You know
I like Dreams and all but some of these games are starting to look a little similar
I keep seeing this weird fluffy texture everywhere
I don't get this Dreams thing, it sounds like a less-shitty Project Spark
Imagine LBP but instead of a level editor it's a game dev kit
Oof
Anyway
Go get dreams 👀

THIS IS AN ACTUAL LINE OF DIALOGUE IN DAYS GONE WHAT?!!? LMAOAOSJNDJRJFKKFKFKEFKDJKD https://t.co/oTLvEeSWTV

I'm fuckin ded, 10/10 dialogue
If you are getting Days gone for the plot or dialogue, prepare for disappointment
Get it for the hordes
@meager panther Microsoft's sad attempt at making a game creator like Dreams
Nobody bought it because you had to buy 5000 DLC's to actually use any building tools
They changed that
The argument was so people could purchase the tools they need/want instead of being given a ton of tools they'd never use.
Just FYI
September 2015 Microsoft announced that the game would transition to a new "free and open creation" model by which all downloadable content would become free for both new and existing players starting from October 5, 2015. As part of the transition players who paid for such content after at most one month before the announcement were eligible for a refund based on what they had paid
Huh and it still failed? Ouch.
I made a shitty RPG in it.
Not unlucky, woefully misjudged the interest of Xbox users
Dreams is gonna have the same problem imo
It was on Windows too
The issue with games like this is the available resources, for it to not get boring there needs to be a constant and consistent flow of new resources.
Dreams won't have it I don't think - it isn't easy to make good looking things
You can slap any old thing together easily enough
But to make quality takes real skill and time
RIP, Microsoft added a bunch of new resources when they removed all the paid DLC but the game still died
Reception was good, interest was not
I think the problem is content needs to be good
People get games to play
Not to make more games
I don't think 90% of stuff created will be even good
I mean, the point of the game was to be a game-building engine accessible to casual gamers
Dreams stuff isn't right now - although early access still of course
Yeah, but how many people spend time doing that?
It's a niche market
i think it was made with a specific audience in mind; the kind of people that made amazing things on LBP2
and i don't think that making something for creative people is a bad idea just because most people lack creativity or refuse to explore it
Dreams is exactly what it was designed to be; and that alone is a lot different than a lot of games coming out lately haha
think ultimately that's why they killed Landmark. was great for people that wanted to be creative, but i guess they got afraid there'd be no larger market for it
somehow i think if they had that to worry about they would have known it already after LBP2
what they should have done was gone on with EQ Next development and let Landmark people make content for EQ Next, like it was supposed to be originally
i dont really care about Landmark I was talking about Dreams specifically
same general problem though. the kinds of people that were interested in Landmark are probably the same kind of people interested in Dreams, it's a very small part of the overall community.
I think Dreams is terrific, just not sure how many people will ever realize that
no comparing one game to the other isn't really that valid tbh
even if they have the same concept
some devs can make a thing work and some can't
granted i'm not especially familiar with Dreams, but the little bit i saw seemed like it was aimed at very young kids

Umm, no
i think that's a mistake, because the people who are likely to be interested in what it has to offer is likely the same people interested in Landmark. that was my earlier point. they are just shaving down the potential pool to an even smaller group
its a pointless discussion
we'll have this one and then a few weeks from now everyone will be bitching that there's no innovation or original ideas in gaming
and rinse and repeat
i'll just enjoy my creativity and i've never really cared if my stuff is popular because popular stuff usually sucks
Too bad Project Spark didn't get a chance after they removed all the DLC from it, smh
I have officially gotten over the weird difficulty hump in Prey and now I can slaughter annoying aliens like there's no tomorrow, lol
FEAR MY MIGHTY WRENCH
and they think a simple apology is enough? they engaged in character assassination against that guy. If i were him I'd sue them silly.

The natives are restless, lol
That was in an office outside the reactor room, had to talk to some Russian lady there. This boi was camping outside the window
This my homie Jimothy. It says his name is Matthew but that's boring, therefore all of these I make are named Jimothy
Lol
so, a bit ago i picked up a stupid hard to find game called Disaster Report without the case or manual because stupid hard to find.
and of course today i find another copy with it all, case, manual, & disc...even cheaper than i got the disc alone (because this shop doesn't base prices roughly on what the game's going for online, or at least not always)
I like the ammo displays on the guns in this game
Sick shotgun
The space suits are cool too
picked up MechAssault 1 & 2 and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow today
Was surprised to come across the latter tbh
Hijacking mechs with the little exosuit in MechAssault 2 was fun af, lol
I should dig up an old xbox manual and see if anyone's silly enough to have kept their original xbox and is up for system linking in 2019, lmao
because i'm preeetttyyy sure even with backwards compatibility on the 360 you can't play MechAssault 2 online, lol
I'd kill for it to be bc for Xbone
i'm betting because it's tied up with battletech stuff trying to sort out agreements is a major headache
Tru
RIP my dreams of getting Oddworld: Munch's Odyssey or Stranger's Wrath on Xbone
I don't even care if they're the HD ports Playstation has, I just wanna play em again 😢
i mean, if you want to play those again, at least you could get even a mid-range PC and probably play them without too much trouble
I would literally squeal if either Mechassault games came to pc
That being said I am hyped for Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries
yeah mechwarrior 5 is looking pretty sweet
I played a lot of MW4 mercenaries
i'm hoping they tweak it a bit so mechs dont crash through buildings so easily
but other than that the gameplay they've shown looks really good
This was my first Battletech game ever https://youtu.be/CgJq2zZ2UbI
Review of Infocom's 1988 DOS release of BattleTech: The Crescent Hawk's Inception. This is the 2nd upload. My audio got disabled because of a fragment of a s...
Lmao that guy reviewing sounds dead inside
crescent hawks revenge was the first table top style battletech game i played, but i had already played the original mechwarrior before that.
Ahh
i still got that theme stuck in my head
i played the actual table game quite a lot in the late 80's and early 90's
I was born in 1985 so most of that was before my time
I played Crescent Hawks Inception sometime in the early 90s because my mom got a deal on a windows 3.1 computer at a yard sale
Also played a good bit of those adventure games that Sierra released back then
i had the succession wars which was a game kind of like risk or axis allies but set in the battletech universe, and we used that as like a campaign map and would fight the individual battles with the miniatures
And a ton of the first Sim City
so what about the battletech game by harebrained that came out recently
Introduction and gameplay for Tank: The M1A1 Abrams Battle Tank Simulation, Dos PC game produced by Sphere in 1989 - http://www.squakenet.com/download/tank-t...
Also played a lot of this XD
It had no mouse controls either, it was all keyboard
I found out that game is on steam too
i've heard the new battletech game for computer is great. best one ever made. haven't had the money to play it
lots of youtube videos on it though, and it looks awesome
i saw some mixed talk about it that made me kinda wonder
all the gameplay i've seen looked really good. what's wrong with it?
I have it I might check it out later; I had a feeling the criticisms were not gameplay based
they didn't like the story?
havn't seen much of the story, most videos focus on the battles
Everything I've heard from tabletop fans has been good. Most of the negative seems to be people that don't realize it was a tabletop game first.
ah, yeah. in the videos it definitely looks like they tried very hard to retain that table top feel, which is probably why it looks so good to me. Mechwarrior games are awesome, but that's not Battletech, that's Mechwarrior. same universe, completely different kind of game. Battletech is more like the ultimate sci fi chess game.
imagine chess where each piece has a character sheet and you have to roll dice to determine hits and damage instead of everything having one-shot kills. and it's played on a hex map instead of a square grid, that's Battletech. Mechwarrior was born from people trying to imagine what it must be like to pilot one of these super war machines.
well, you could play it on an ungridded table but then you had to use tape measures and strings and templates to determine how everything moves and shoots etc... was a LOT of work.
Ya
I liked when the zombie swarms you
and the motor bike
which are basically the two focus of the game?
so it's probably a half decent game
There are people complaining about the plot, and all I can think is : why would you ever think the plot would be good?
I want to shoot and explode lots of zombies, and it looks like it delivers on that
It's tempting as well, but isn't that the multiplayer only?
Nah solo is AI bots as team mates.
Sweet
I think the 3rd person makes it feel less hectic tho
it's not as "holyshitimgonnadie" as L4D
yeah you need to be good to have fun as monster
but if you ain't having fun when you're bad it can be hard to keep playing
Have you tried the Friday the 13th game?
It was another disappointment, but did have its moments as Jason
I have zero interest in hiding from him though, or trying other things - I want to only play as him - the single player bot addition was pretty nice
So many bugs though
Idk how I managed to avoid spoilers to Prey's ending for 3 years but I tried to Google something about the Typhons last night and had a giant spoiler for the ending right at the top of the search page, smh
it's been 3 years
spoilers' only bad when they slow you down
I only watched the Friday 13th game
feel like a more focused Dead by Daylight tho
Some of the executions were pretty brutal
One of the things I didn't like about the online part (besides not always being Jason lol) is that you had to sit through the whole match, even if you died as a counselor- or no xp
Took like 10 minutes usually to even get one started, then 15 or so for the match - not a good investment of time for the amount of fun
one of the articles i read about Days Gone suggested you spend a lot more time fighting normal people than zombies, so that makes me kinda go hrm about it
I read that, sounds like someone who didn't explore anything to me - but I'll withhold judgement until I play it myself
From the trailers and gameplay, I assumed humans play a large role
Not sure if bugged, but given that some of the waypoints sounded like they either led to literally nothing or firefights with humans, hard to blame'em for not going out of their way too often, lol
In games like this, a good amount of the time if it's not tagged on the map, there's basically nothing there to find besides scenery
But yeah, I'll maybe catch it on sale sometime or something if I do get it at all
That said, I'm not going into expecting a game of the year or anything - I'm approaching it like I do old Kung fu flicks
Crap story and dialogue are expected
Games like this are the reason I use GameFly
tbh i could possibly find it in a Redbox if i were to check
I wonder if Dead Rising will try another game
The horde mechanic could be a ton of fun with the crazy weapons you build
btw, some decent deals going in this sale:

Gravity Rush Remastered & Gravity Rush 2 on sale again, still highly recommend
Nice
When did Gravity Rush 2 happen?
I played first on PS Vita and loved every minute of it.
I grabbed Hoirzon Zero Dawn deluxe (or gold or w.e) and God of War deluxe for 40 bucks
And then realized I didn't transfer any data from my original ps4 except for NMS
😢
Ouch
I'm about to hit the button for Fade To Silence.
I can't stop watching game play videos since that dude posted it here yesterday.
I loved gravity rush on psvita
Really was a fun game.
I played the first one expecting nothing amazing.
I didn't put it down until I completed it.
I've literally just shot a text to my youngest brother asking if I can borrow his broken PS4 so I can play Gravity Rush 2 and Days Gone.
If not, I'll just go buy one I guess.
Sorry for your loss
Fml, I'm trying to survive to the ending of this damn game so I can start NG+ and have a "fuck around and be OP" playthrough. Rn I have zero materials to make anything useful from, I'm low on ammo, and every part of the station I've been to previously is full of OP Typhons
And I'm down to one medkit
Jesus, right after I said that the game said "Fuck you" and tossed NEW bullshit my way
To̥̞̜d̰̣̲d͎̘̙ ̧̹͙ķ͈̦n̢̼̩o҉w̥͙̟s
Who would win, the Flood from Halo or the Typhon from Prey
Have you played Prey?
Typhon replicate by killing people (sound familiar) and can make badass forms out of dead bodies
yeah but do they have spores??
No? They can mind-control people tho
Don't need spores when you can mind control people into getting eaten
oh damn okay
And they come in way more (and cooler) forms. Plus you literally can't hurt some of them with small arms fire unless you have Nullifier grenades or psychic abilities like them
Did I mention the part where they have fucked biology and some of them are irradiated (Flood won't infect radiated things)
Yes
I used to
Do you like space games?
haha well this is the nms discord
It's pretty slow, ngl
Though the new update should be nice for beginners
yeah i do
It does have a steep learning curve
But the flight controls are the best of the best imo
it does look complex
It seems harder than it is
Kinda? I think the new low-level area and stuff like the new auto-dock and intro missions help with that @idle saffron
Didn't know about those
Well, the autodock I did
It is so much more satisfying landing yourself though
They added beginner missions, a low-level part of the map that high level people can't enter, and auto-warping
Don't get it without Horizons, half the content is locked behind it
https://discordapp.com/channels/146101654981312513/212051634790858754/570016590607810580 but you could say the same about NMS...
@placid lava Seriously, you'll need Horizons
Yeah, half the game is in a DLC that costs more than the actual game.
if you're getting space truck simulator, you want the expansion. it brings it from next to nothing to do, up to barely anything to do
LMFAO
I mean some people do fucking love doing the same thing over and over
in fact that's what most people do every single weekday
i note that you're not disagreeing with my fair and accurate assessment :P
Guys haven't played in a while, eh?
Lots more to do than just trade, you got planet bases, engineers, aliens, factions, outstanding combat, passenger missions, and can just jet about in the black, exploring systems
Plus misc missions and quests from the various stations and factions
Also MORTAL KOMBAT
was watching a stream of that yesterday, some pretty awesome finishing moves
Some are gross lol - very over the top, suits the game well
@winter yew are mortal Kombat fatalities allowed in here? Some are extremely graphic, not sure if it will offend or disgust someone
@idle saffron Just drop them with a spoiler tag if you think it's too over the top
Ah. No big deal. I don't see why they'd be an issue anyway
for science
The story mode isn't bad for a mortal kombat
Cliched plot, but I didn't expect a tapestry of meaningful and moving scenes
Haven't played a mk game since ever
Last i player was the pixelated one
It had like sub zero and those character
I like them mostly - but they never keep my attention long
I am having lots of fun right now though
@idle saffron I don’t see an issue with it but ... oh @reef storm already answered. Guess I’m going back to bed
I can't follow Mortal Kombat or many fighting games much these days, never clear on whether I'm getting a full set of characters or if they're expecting me to buy some more or how all that's working
And I'm not really interested in trying to compete against people for whom it's their main game to get perfect at lately
They're pretty fun to watch though, so there's always that!
I'll play for a few days, do some fatalities and the story - and go get whooped Online a few times - or not as the case may be. Then send it back
Yeah, given that I don't do the rental approach, that's not as much of an option
Albeit I really should see what titles are available at the local Redboxes. Last I checked it was pretty minimal, but it's been a decent amount of time
