@austere lance MHW has a lot of changes compared to the past MH games, your whetstone never runs out, you can move while drinking potions, some have said the game itself is ‘easier to access’ compared to past titles, but I wouldn’t know that difference because I’m not a hardcore MH veteran. Theres also the base camps that you can revisit mid-quest to resupply yourself and you can go back and eat at the camp without having to leave the quest. Then there’s the environmental traps (I don’t think past MH games had those)
Oh and you don’t have to build pickaxes this time lol.

Also they eliminated the need for paintballs to track monsters, now you have these glowing flies that follow the scent trail of the monsters which you have to gather clues like footprints, feathers, claw marks, etc
So when asshole monsters like Rathian like to keep flying away, you won’t waste most of your mission time going WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU

They always seem to tone it the fuck down on the grass in the name of making it look better, but the really short-yet-polished grass texture always seems more fake than the really sloppy-yet-spiky grass of low res.

I finally beat the story mode of The Long Dark
Was very impressed. They took a story mode I thought wasn't salvageable and made something halfway decent.
They put out 2 episodes of the 5 episodes they were supposed to put out. Everyone disliked them.
So instead of just powering through the other 3 they went back and redid those two episodes.
