-first attempt to launch into freeplay kicked me back to main menu due to "server shutdown"
-i ran into the disappearing enemies bug, but it seemed to be combined with a shift in enemy positions so that wildlife was replaced with Scars because...living world stuff?
-trying to fight those scars fucking sucked because for some reason the camera would bug out as i fired on them, pointing me all over the place, like some sort of fucked up recoil
-the open world just felt pretty...run of the mill? Nothing really seems to happen in freeplay except for some patrols that, if the above is any indication, don't seem to be working quite right
i mean overall the game doesn't seem bad from the little i've tried of it, but it seems incredibly average

It's pretty fun , I'll give it a 6.5/10 , it's still poorly optimized, there's more than a few bugs, but the core gameplay is there and it's entertaining, so it gets that.

The thing with that game is if you take a long break then going back is just painful, when you see how many skills you could have gotten up in that timespan.
And I think the time investment required for all the skills is what pushes new players away honestly.

my impression after like 2 hours is relatively pretty looking, seemingly nice big environments and the movement is fun and feels amazing with the jetpack and all that but otherwise it just doesn't seem all that special

I haven't looked at the game very closely over the past year or so because I want to get that 'fresh experience' when the game officially releases

this trailer doesn't really give much away
think of it as 'No Man's Sky' without the spaceship bit. I mean, you get a rocket that can take you from planet to planet, but that's about it. The tool you use in the game is a lot like NMS' terrain manipulator. There's no wild life (unless that's changed) except for poisonous plants and the caves are pretty deep and expansive.
