Star Citizen's biggest issue for me is the most important feature - it's flight mechanics - is horrendous
the UI is shit across all ships, even the smallest ships handle like ass, the game is pracitcally unplayable with a hotas setup, there's supposed to be some differences between spaceflight and atmospheric flight but it all feels the same, I could possibly go on
This is apparently suppsosed to be somewhat remedied in 3.5 soon but I just can't believe it's going to fix much at this rate
it's the exact same reason I can sit down and enjoy playing E:D or so long despite it being so empty feeling: flight in E:D feels suprisingly fun and easy to understand, and it works incredibly well with a hotas setup

So I ended up going for Just Cause 4 last night, and it's the most outlandish fun I've had in a video game in a long time.

Yeah! By then hopefully they have their announced patch out which is due to correct some graphical issues. There's some places where it's really bad - colour banding and stuff too which is bizarre - like 254 colours on Windows 95 😂
But I did spend the best part of 3 hours not progressing or doing missions. Literally just seeing the million different ways I could get a Cow to fly from A->B

If you've played any other JC game, don't buy this one. This one looks worse than JC3, UI is ported straight out of consoles and keyboard keys chosen by random. Cutscenes are animated with a potato and rendered with a toaster. [...] Go play JC2 instead, better graphics and gameplay. 😅

Honestly the reviews that say the gameplay is bad, I'm really doubting that they've played the game at all, or understand what kind of game it is 🤔
Every streamer I've watched has enjoyed it immensley. I picked it up myself and the gameplay is fantastic. Sat for 3 hours last night not doing any missions, just playing with the physics sandbox.
The gameplay is only good if you're into blowing shit up, trying different combinations of things etc.
Unless reviewers are spoonfed with scripted content, they aren't happy

I dunno - my general observations is that on streams, on reddit - everyone who's playing it is really enjoying it despite the graphical issues which are cited to be fixed in a patch.

I was super disapointed with Shadow of the Tomb Raider which is one of my favourite franchises - and that game was stunning it just lacked any depth for me
Where JC4 feels full of depth. Not in way of having loads of NPCs or loads of unique environments - it doesn't have any of that
But having literally 1001 ways to blast a cow from point A to point B on the map is fun for me lol

You don’t need to get a tank 100ft in the air. I think that’s where people struggle. You just need to create your own challenges. It’s a sandbox.

Yeah, the game's "random" shuffle is skewed by what cards you have in a deck
People(players) have run statistics and posted proof of the skew, but players who have pay to win decks simply say "well that's because you must be bad at irl shuffling, the game is perfect and random"

It's sad, because it's a quick way to get your magic fix. But the "random" is not truly random, it's weighted - and based heavily off of how much land you have.
If you're like me and do a 2:1 ratio then the system generally will screw you, while a physical deck only geta the occasionally screw
Which again, players have run stats on it, and the system seems to like 24 or 26 Mana decks
The only thing the devs have said is "the system draws your opening hand twice and gives you the better one" which in and of itself is against the spirit of the game, and shows the system is flawed because a single opening hand should be properly random.
The upside is that arena costs no money to actually play.

Hmm, looked at another couple reviews of Borderlands 2 VR and tbh it sounds like it's just a very lame VR port all around. RoadtoVR's review more or less said as much with pointing out that the port does very little to sell itself on why you'd choose the VR version over its standard version.
The other, more positive reviews, really just lean on enjoying the original game, which they feel the clunky VR doesn't detract enough from to make it worth reviewing more poorly. However, that's pretty silly imo when it seems to me you should be reviewing it more critically on how/whether the port does anything to justify itself other than being a simple cash grab.
It's sort of like reviewing the original Dark Souls port and ignoring all the jank just because, "aayyy Dark Souls on PC amirite guys?!"
