I wanted Persona 4 Golden & Danganronpa & some other stuff I found out about later
Owned it on the psp but had to use my friends ps3 to download it to my vita
Then Retro City Rampage and Shovel Knight got announced for vita.
So I grabbed those and also Need For Speed Most Wanted 2012
While it’s a poor excuse for a NFS game it was a pretty direct port of the console version
Huh
It’s made by Criteron
Oh duh, stupid me, I also got the Vita for Tearaway & Gravity Rush
Wait, Burnout Legends, or NFS?
NFS
Burnout Legends was more like a greatest hits version of the first three games on PS2
Played exactly like Takedown
I've never really gotten into those too much, so I'm pretty clueless on'em
I did try a few of the early Burnout games, like the first, but I'm really unclear on whether I tried the second or third game, since it was over at a friend's place
It was whichever one introduced the wreck/crash mode, I think, where you basically tried to do as much damage as possible
Other vita-only titles I owned are LUMINES Electronic Symphony, Freedom Wars, Wipeout 2048, Super Stardust Delta, KILLZONE mercenary, and the vita ports of Earth Defense force 2017 and EDF 2 lol
Tough little game in the higher levels
And yes
Of course I had to have the Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper trilogies
My all-time favorite platformers on PS2
A Hat In Time is pretty good
eehh
Reminds me of those days
I was excited for that but pretty mixed about the way the dev is
I know zero about the dev
They're just kinda flaky in their community relations stuff, and hired on a sketchy YouTuber to do some VO work
That's putting it mildly because I've been trying to forget about'em
I was excited for Yooka Laylee until I heard the voice acting in it
Just super repetitive belching sounds
Not really the kinda noise I wanna hear lol
And I’m the kinda guy that put up with Okami’s dialogue
Friggin Charlie Brown WOMP WOMP speak
This game has sorta had my eye, but from what I've read it's just sorta average:
https://www.gog.com/game/the_last_tinker_city_of_colors
Hmmm
It's odd how people had complaints about the text sounds
Could be neat
There was a game on the PS2 called RUFF TRIGGER that was so god awful
It was basically a budget knockoff of Ratchet and Clank 1
And for some reason the character could turn into a werewolf
Just because he drinks this random green liquid he walks up on
Like seriously just GULP
Oh just like real life
Lmao
There were a bunch of weird knockoffs or knockoff-esque platformers back then, lol
On one hand I don't miss it, but on the other hand, it was really great to see these weird attempts that weren't licensed games, so they were genuinely trying for...Something.
Like Alter Echo, Metal Arms, Sphinx & the Cursed Mummy, Vexx, etc.
wait wtf, i think i've made my thoughts semi-unconsciously alphabetize shit

Don’t worry I do that sometimes too
I tried a demo of that years back and it was very...What?
At first I thought maybe it was for some silly straight to DVD pet movie
But nooope
Nah it’s a full game lol
Tbh I'd be mostly down for companies making games that aren't trying to push the tech envelope but are just alright looking graphically, supposing they sold them a bit cheaper since they wouldn't have to cost as much to produce
A step above indie, if ya will
Right
@arctic phoenix The most realistic flying control was the PS4 game called BloodStar Arena
It was an eye sore when I tried to fly like a pro
Couldn’t even win the game
I've never owned a ps4 sadly
the only console i've had was an xbox 360 and a playstation 2
I think you can own BloodStar Arena
PC has almost everything
Also, without VR for BloodStar Arena, it’s still hard
Cuz it’s almost like a real life experience flying a ship in space
sounds fun tbh
Not to me 😅
It’s frustrating to see how terrible pilot you really are in BloodStar Arena
I always constantly lose
To COMPUTERS!!!
Easy computers!
Cheese
Elite Dangerous is a hella good space sim but good lord is it boring. To be fair, space would be pretty boring
Flying in it is hard enough that most people quit the game when they try, lol
Yeah
Too much “I wanna fly like I’m actually flying it irl”
But it’s decent af
So I treasured it
Flying is fine. Once you figure out all the things that'll get you station gun'd
Also the 7second trick for exiting supercruise
But there's almost no variety in activities
So you can have fun flying around, but other than that there's not much
Launching yourself off a quasar is a blast though
Yeah
Since Henry Cavil is playing Geralt in the Witcher show Netflix is making somebody decided to make a mod that mixes Witcher 3 Geralt with Henry Cavil
Oh wait is that the actual casting?
Yee
Is it just me or do Anya & Freya's photos make them look way younger than they probably are?
The internet had a nice "reeeee" for a couple days after Fringilla's actress got announced
Huh, I thought X4 Foundations was releasing today but I was very wrong.
30th November, not sure where I got today from. 😐

I wouldn't be suprised if it's uncompressed textures
Mr me
actually, 10GB patch is impressive, though I'm not sure if I'm downloading the full game or just a patch
Yes
p sure a patch
should note that this is the PTU because hey there's a fuckin update scheduled next month and this update brings in some huge as shit feature
lol
I got the ptu
Never played star citizen
which really isn't that huge because itsn't it backend?
And won’t play it. It’ll crash my laptop
I can actually run sc on the ptu
How was BO4?
just chalk it down to "it's SC"
this is going worringly fast
Damn
I'm getting the feeling something's not right
Maybe they confused download and install 😩
Why
because at the time I was super into it
now I'm just bored with it
my tastes have changed a lot since then, going from wanting deep simulations to a more casual experience
it's why I've grown fond of NMS over time, it's a little confusing at first but once you get it all figured out it's pretty easy to get going
Yeah that's what kind of got me into NMS initially, when seeing the trailers
I didn't really see all this stuff and build it up to be an innovative space simulation or anything, like some may have. I just thought "neat, 3d space game where I can fly around and land on planets and stare at cool things, I'm in"
Starbound was the closest thing for me but I just don't get as into it when it's sidescrolling 2d pixelart
I don't play games even remotely as much as I used to, and I don't have time to spend hours and hours playing one single game anymore
hell I try and limit myself to like
2 hours, then a 2-3 hour break
I've kinda broken that rule recently though so rip
I get discouraged when I look at games that require a lot of time now, even if I love them
Like MHW
I want to play it on PC
But I can't dedicate time because it'd be like 1-2 hunts then bed
Which isn't as exciting to me
YES COMPUTERMAN WHAT'S YOUR NAME ON SC NUT
A
C0MPUTERMAN @brisk merlin
welp here goes
time for my computer to fucking explode
🔥
wait what the fuck it actually runs great now
Yup
:zoom:
Would be a strange joke
What pc you got
I built it like 2 years ago
I got a pc 6372 extreme edition 😩 (the weary is in the name)
i7-4790K, 16GB DDR3
Gpu
I had a 970 in there but swapped it out for a 1080ti

thicc card
I built this back when I had no priorities disposable income
Oh no father
my grain
Fathers oats
note: I'd take screenshots but my sharex doesn't like sc so
Can't just F12?
Same
1440p images are a bitch
also hey it works now
I don't like the look of this new suit tbh
It's like they built male pattern baldness into the visor
Buy new suit
I'm bootleg master chief
What can you do in the game rn?
afaik basic missions
and trading
that may have changed in the new patch though
okay I can't do this armor anymore lmao
aaaaaaaaaaaaand it
crashed

MISSING TEXT!

Wow nice
I think it's just putting me back in the game
am sad, I want to go to glitch world
It should've loaded in by now
oh nvm it died
that's enough for now, I'll come back in another year or two and check on progress
oh I had that bug a lot
the facial stuff is good
How about this for face reveal? Star Citizen just released their Face Tracking technology FOIP, it can be tracked with a simple webcam.

yes
I want that in every game now
I was starting to believe that SC's models were starting to get past the uncanny valley but this takes that idea and shatters it
K
K
ok
RDR 2 should hurry tf up and come out
thats life
am i the only one enjoying tf out of bo4?
never the only one
yae
In all honesty I haven’t touched a COD and since the first Modern Warfare
I got Advanced Warfare because it was $5 on sale at my store but I just can’t get into it
AW sucked tho
hahaha
i highly recommend bo4
especially on pc
now that theyve properly made it for pc
Ehhh I’ll keep an eye out for a sale
mw3 is where it was at
Is the campaign any good?
mw3 on pc is bad because is got hackers in it
its got some lore behind it which it pretty interesting but there isnt a deliberate campaign
Oh
they focused more on the zombies story this time around
That’s interesting 🤔
which is amazing btw
basically bo4
That’s all I ever hear about anymore with Call of Duty
Even my damn sister was into the zombies lol
if they poured all resources into zombies it would be incredible
Which surprised me because I didn’t see her as a gamer type
Guys I found out something when I was Googling Sean Murray earlier
He worked for Criterion Games
Specifically on two of my favorite PS2 games
BLACK and Burnout 3
I want a BLACK remaster
That game was way ahead of its time

Just skim through that
Actually fuck that video
It’s an emulated version

THIS is what it actually looked like ^^
Wow
just wow
lol @winter yew talk about coincidences, I mentioned this over in the NMS channel a few days ago
Nice :3
I never had a chance to play one of the best ''fps'' or action game series of all time
A free, mostly idle RPG
ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL. Hey everybody, and welcome to the latest addition of ZFX Trailer Mash-Ups! On one side, we've got the immensely-entertaining trailer...
ono
actually really well done
now that i watch it, yeah, lol
but seeing suicide squad is just an immediate ono for me

This is what No Man's Sky needs in it's combat
Ok forewarning I'm dumb and this video is long because of that. I should have played through the whole game before producing content but, well, I crammed all...
looooooooved this
this is news apparently?
Who's gonna play Starlink? going to play tonight. The planets are beautiful and the ships , weaponry and fauna look really good. I hear the story is stale, but I don't really care.
eck
we shall see. Looks playful like Ratchet and Clank
but ratchet and clank is good
I'm curious @willow crypt, so if ya figure out what's up with the ship parts system, I'd be interested in reading about it
I think some people need to learn not to judge a game until theyve played it.
The ship weapons and upgrades sound cool
or its just not their thing? skylanders with ships and star fox, is gonna be a pass for some people
i doubt its a bad game
Playing on PlayStation, don't care for the toys
Yep, one can look at the concept and the fact that they're selling it with toys and think it's a farce, but I think they wanted to make it a good game despite the toys.
I like the idea of assymetrically customizing your ship with different weapons
I'm prepared to sell my soul to RDR 2
same
Tbh I've just been waiting for more info on how enjoyably you can play Starlink without dipping into paying more before writing it off, which basically means waiting on reviews/others playing it
I'll try to share my opinion when I can
So many games out and coming out. Great game year
Give
new
Red
Dead
Redemption
😐
compared to last year, not THAT great...
Hmm, this GameSpot review for Starlink is hrm:
https://www.gamespot.com/reviews/starlink-battle-for-atlas-review-endless-space/1900-6417011/
Just skimmed it & an ArsTechnica review, latter was more positive but didn't dig too much into the details concerning the toys/parts pack, which struck me as odd
they give A LOT of 7's and 8's at gamespot
i was just saying that out of my thoughts towards gamespot
That said, the bullet point partly captures what I was getting at
i didnt even look at it and im guessing its a 7
Yeah, game itself doesn't sound bad, so that seems right for those sorts of scales
theres just other games id rather spend 60$s on tbh
Yeah, I mean, you've made your take on this game pretty clear, lol
Plenty of choices
same to you lol
I was about to add, much like I have with RDR2, lmao
different tastes
if I'm gonna have tinges of Western, I'll take it in space, 😛
you're the kind of person that thinks the original star wars is a western lol
wha, nah
yeah, i'm whooshing i take it
Clint Eastwood was great in the first star wars movie
what typo 😳
oh god
Despite having Cowboy in the name, I hardly think of Bebop as space Western
It's all over the place
lol
😳
Bebop is more space bounty hunter
Quintin Tarantino should make a game
He should eat one
vore
Oh yeah. He should write one
He should let people play him through an ARG
For rockstar
tarantino and rockstar would be fucking bliss
Or naughty dog
Rockstar and Naughty Dog should just get a room together
Ye
So then I can ignore them both, lol
I would go into the room with them
Little do you know, they're just playing go fish
My favorite part of The Solus Project is that despite being able to find pipes that seem like they should be able to be used as levers for some mechanisms, you can't use them like that. Nope, that's what the swords are for.
The swords can be used to cut some stuff too, mind, but mostly? Levers.
Yeah, that's mainly how I've been playing it
There's at least a few spots where that's rough tho
Like I get the feeling you might have a sprint button normally, but because VR they don't allow for that, so some hazards are clunky
And this latest puzzle I encountered had me shoving some blocks to make a path, which basically had my face against the surface
It can be awkward at times
Thankfully, we're witnessing the pioneers of VR development and it's going to get way better.
Mmhm
so turns out I've been paying for game pass since Sea of Thieves so now I'm going to use that garbage bullshit to play Forza Horizon 4
I wonder what became of SoT
Like sure, you can headshot in Warframe, but the bonus is generally miniscule compared to all of the other factors in the game
Forza? Hmm
And platforming is almost universally better with a handheld device designed for ergonomics and comfortable access to buttons
And analog movement ofc
Any need for precision hitting buttons is also negated by shotguns and the flamethrower
@raven frost SoT is better now. There's a whole new area on the map full of magic volcanoes that shoot flaming rocks at you
So like boats with cannons but they don't move
No, they're legit volcanoes. They're huge and shoot rocks all over. And there's geysers to dodge while you're trying to loot stuff. If you're carrying loot and the ground starts shaking you gotta book your ass to your ship if you don't wanna die
And there's a new voyage thing called Cargo Runs where you have to keep your cargo safe and dry while you transport it somewhere. The better condition it's in the more you get paid

Is anybody else slowly dying waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2
No getting excited
Everyone is slowly dying, except people who are quickly dying.

it's all a matter of perspective 🤔
I mean, if your perspective is Frozen in time, nobody is dying (damnit Disney)
What about red dead revolver 2
I was happy af to see Red Dead Revolver characters in Red Dead Redemption multiplayer 😄
So I've put about 5 hours into Starlink: battle for atlas so far and I can say it's definitely scratching my exploration itch. The two planets I've explored some of so far are gorgeous and varied and change depending on where you are. The fauna are highly detailed, very well animated and make some awesome and strange sounds. The music and soundscapes are really nice and fit the planets. Flying is quite intuitive and satisfying, also very fun to shoot enemies and collect resources/scan objects. The story is meh but does have a few high beats so far. The teen YouTuber boy should have been removed or had his dialogue changed because he's just lame. upgrading and modding is pretty cool, making your ship/ships more powerful. I love that the planetary maps are completely hidden until you've gone there which makes exploration more meaningful. Also, the Flora and fauna on each planet seem to be connected and tell a story, very interesting to read their discovery info. The side missions on planets obtained on planets are cool, but I can see them getting tiring after a while. the good thing is you can use them to explore more of the planets. There's also buildings and their interiors that are explorable on planets and in space. The game takes place in one system but you can fly anywhere. Maybe it's not worth $60 to some, but besides NMS, there are not many games like this with this type of freedom.
@cinder vessel
@jade lake
Thanks for that Zug. Was checking it out myself. Might see what my kids think of it before getting it.
I was sorta interested before the $60 price tag
Not a huge deal but I have other games I'd buy before that, if I didn't already have a huge backlog
did you get a physical version or just digital?
digital
one last quick note and important for explorers, you can go as slow or as fast as you want.
Ah I was wondering about that. Full stop?
That's cool
has anyone played For Honor here?
Wtf Taco Bell
who @‘d me
the new update changed everything about how the game worked out
Damn
since all the for honor discords im in are super dead i cant get any opinions
I @'d you @jade lake
Haven't tried the update, I got bored of the game like 2 weeks ago and deleted it to clear some room on my hard drive 😄
ive been playing it for awhile
cause I thought you were interested in hearing about Starlink
eh
Maybe you were just there, and I misinterpreted
@jade lake 😍 😍 😍
You can hunt animals in plenty of games, their useful materials disappearing into your inventory, but here you kneel down, skin the animal, throw its pelt over your shoulder, return to your horse and strap the pelt to it, before riding into town to sell it. There are animations for all of that. Eight years’ work from hundreds of people at Rockstar’s studios was necessary to achieve this level of realism. The virtual characters are based on voice and motion capture from more than a 1,000 real-world actors.
god i hope it lives up to it
Me too
it looks like it does
Yee
but i just wanna play it lol
People that have played 3+ hours of it got their fuckin minds blown
probably
fuck
But @austere lance you can't shoot kids /s
im glad they've been keeping everything under wraps
Boi
i want it that way lol
fallout 2 had killable children
I hate all the kids in the fallout games
they're all assholes
their grownup voices trying to sound like kids
^
Those damn ratings people don't let you kill kids (unless they're zombies) in any game not rated AO
are kids in RDR2?
I'd assume so
someone should make a mod where everyone is a child
The most awkward thing I've seen in people's 3 hour impressions is that you can go to a bathhouse and pay chicks to bathe you 😄
ha
Wow how can baby chickens handle sponges?
Kek
I thought that up in a whole 2 seconds
they would have hands
/r/birdswitharms
Who tf puts this much effort into a videogame
Attracted by the lights outside an ornate theatre, I walked in and bought a ticket to a vaudeville show, and watched a virtual crowd applaud virtual actors for a good five minutes before remembering that this was a video game and I could leave at any time.
@jade lake what is this, Witcher 3? 😄
i hope cyberpunk is insanely in depth
might be too deep
That 40 minutes of gameplay was 😍 😍 😍
I kinda felt ill watching the player get their mechanical eye replaced in first-person, lol
lookin forward to seeing the area outside of the city
im expecting an ost akin to hotline miami 2's, and an atmosphere at times like blade runner
I can 900% guarantee you that Cyberpunk is getting banned in Australia, lol
RIP them
Borse halls
They lost a war to Emus and would have banned Fallout 3 if Bethesda hadn't changed Morphine to Med-X
im not kidding please look up the emu war
its was a few dudes with machine guns and a fuck ton of emu
runs
it was by far the most beautiful war ever witnessed to mankind
i want my emu war movie/game
I am genuinely surprised that the emu war hasnt been used in an indie game yet
Omg
im going to war
oh my gooooooood
wghat
it's real
what is
the emu war game
It's lit
how is it
The trailer is godly
giant laser shooting emus
Yep
this is better than i ever could've hoped for
You're welcome, Skip
Cheers @willow crypt! Glad you're enjoying it, I might have to pick it up sometime since it sounds like it's right at that sweet spot of just enough going on to keep one interested
red dead rodeo should have a mode where all the people are kids fighting with toy weapons
oh, btw this is out...Now!

i still can't believe that got a remaster
wait no
nvm confused with something else
i have no clue what this is
maybe you're thinking of The Last Remnant?
exactly
This game is amazing!
Ugh, I haaaaate resonance of fate
😐
Action turn based combat that will turn into a curb stomp if you get dinged
I'm sorry, but I can't stand being able to move to shoot, but having to stand still for incoming attacks
The mapping system was nice though
Valkyria does it too, iirc
But isn't atlus hard
Thanks Mom
The last racing game I liked was Full Auto, lol
mario kart 8 is so good
Racing games with car weaponry and explosions are preferable.
Even more fun when you take out the racing part
Twisted Metal? 🤔
Yussir
There's one coming out, can't think of the name right now. Racing game with cars with guns.
Full Auto was 👌
Grip
this game gives me nice ol' PS1 vibes:

Interesting level design
By the by, I'm not sure if this is only for folks that have purchased PSVR games or not, but you might want to check your PSN email, as I found that I'd received $10 store credit to spend however
(PSN email=whatever email you have your PlayStation Network account registered with, to be v. clear)
lucky
anyone get starlink battle for atlas?
@willow crypt there’s a really early access title on Steam called Diesel Guns if you are looking for a modern Twisted Metal clone
It’s being developed on Unreal Engine
@cinder vessel you should check it out too
“Diesel Guns” - is a multiplayer old-school car combat game in the Twisted Metal, interstate 76 and Vigilante 8 style. The game mechanics combines drive and fun of car combat and balance of classic shooter games.USP:Fast Paced gameplayInteractive exotic mapsWide range of ...

i got the switch verison because fox mccloud only buy digital verison
Ooh, thanks for the heads up @winter yew!
So, thanks to that $10 credit from PlayStation, I went ahead and picked up No Heroes Allowed! VR. It's a charming little light strategy game!
You play as a GOD (God of Destruction) working with Badman & his daughter Badmella to conquer the world from pesky heroes, lol
Hmmmm
Possibly a make or break thing for some folks, but if you liked Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time, Badmella's voice actress is definitely channeling her 'tude
I’ll have to look into some videos of that :p
I honestly wish they'd make a 2D version of this, because it's a lovely kid's first VR sorta game, imo, but also a good intro to some strategy style games
The really captivating part of it is that unit production is not a simple affair. You're having to balance out monster ecology to get better monsters.
In other words, your own units are part of the resources you're managing
And of course also some resources gathered from wrecking heroes, called charisma, which is used to generate your unit nests
Uhhh
I know the pain
So they are just as shitty as GAMESTOP
Game bought all the Gamestop stores here.
Gamestop was a million times better than Game.
gamestop's gradually transitioning into becoming a collectible junk store, lol
I just saw something in my Walmart
I almost puked
An entire aisle designated for POP! Figures
oof
i'm kind of amazed those sell as well as they do
zero points of articulation, most personality erased thanks to generalized features, you can't do anything but stuff them on a shelf. their very existence on store shelves already fulfills their ultimate purpose.

No you are not
Is too
bongo witch is god
Baggy tamed goddo
baggy tamed spooky g.o.d
so yeah my conclusion
they are a band of retards
I am going to use the wallet balance anyway
😱
It might be due to legal reasons?
Since it isn't actually physical money and maybe buying with giftcards and such requires immediate access to goods
Actually gift card redeeming is kinda sketchy
Like
It's a code
And not physical money
So kinda what witch said
Witch
@rigid haven but im going to use the money anyway even if I had to buy it after release
woudl just mean I had to wait an extra day or 2 for the game
but you can do it in store with the balance
but not online with the balance...
Huh
Yeah, I would say that's a legal issue or something along those lines
It seems too stupid to be anything else
seem illogical really
I dont see what the difference is between online and in store
I know from experience that they charge more to do it in store
when I got fallout 4 it was 44.99 on their website and 54.99 in store and they refused to match the price
Don’t shop there, the only way to punish a business is to withhold money
that's what im doing
they almost collapsed recently
im just annoyed that I traded in god of war and NMS there for £30 so I could afford RDR2
but now I have effectively lost that money
I mostly always buy physical copies
this is a physical copy Im trying to buy
Yeah just saying
Coz physical copies are best
You can stack them up
And make it take up space

Yeah I dont like digital stuff
Me neither
unless its like super cheap on the PS store
I like the small booklet that comes in the CD case
Physical copies have a chance of not working
never had that issue ever
Both sides have disadvantages and advantages
It's nice to go through the game tutorial in the booklet as the game installs
But that's a thing of the past apparently
Now most games I get
Don't have that booklet
I don’t even remember the last one I got that had a real instruction booklet
Yeah been a few years now
Knack had an instruction manual
That was nice
I guess
yeah they dont do those these days
knack was such a bad game
exclusives of today have become more: "lets show everyone how pretty we can makes games"
Ohh, wait, maybe it's because Game sometimes sources from other places
It might be different for pre-orders, but only maybe
still doesnt make a real difference
it has to get delivered to the store either way
I liked Knack
I licked him
Kev, we've talked about this.....you can't go around licking other users. It's just not sanitary.
Everyone's unique
True.
So we can lick users then?

lmao.

Apologies mr wolf
I have been napping and woke up to the shenanigans above and didn’t realize 😃
Here’s a fox I saw in Horizon Zero Dawn
wild doggo.
I basically had to step away from HZD the other day because I got too ahead of myself and ended up in a situation I was not prepared for
Spoilers aside : found a dungeon type area with a boss fight at the end, was not prepared for it at all
So I went back to an earlier save to get out of that situation until I feel like I’m ready for it
The photo mode is decent but it’s bound to the player character so you can’t get too far away from her
So getting photos of the wildlife can be a bit tricky because they run if you get too close
That looks great. That game is ps4 only right?
Yea
It’s made by the same developers of the KILLZONE games
Guerrilla Games, which is owned solely by Sony
They made one multi platform game in 2004 called Shellshock: Nam ‘67 but since then all their games have only been on Sony platforms
neat
Yeah
yeah
yea-yuhhhhh
huh didnt know this was on steam https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/354311908540678144/502563301054480384/unknown.png
🤔 i didn't either
Xbox is doing halo wars 2 and Conan exiles as its free play weekend
Unfortunately my internet is crap and would take at least a day to download either
Plus I have zero interest in Conan
Dong Simulator, lol
Not worried about that, but for a game based on Conan lore - the fighting is fucking terrible
It’s like the one thing you have to get right
And they didn’t
All I know about Conan is that Arnold Schwarzenegger played him in a movie
The game looks like a Conan expansion for Ark
Oof
The Ark devs are making a Sea of Thieves knockoff 😄
They should finish Ark first.
Why should they finish it when people keep buying it 😉
Can't argue that.
Ugh
Fighting looks as bad as Conan’s
Looks better than SoT, sadly
wat
wut wut
Yeah, nah, gotta disagree. It looks fine, but doesn't have the charm of Sea of Thieves to it
I saw some mentions of this yesterday, but apparently this is a thing that...Somehow managed to happen with Starlink:
https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-10-18-some-best-buy-copies-of-starlink-are-missing-the-game-itself
wow
Starlink looks good
No u
Stop twerking skeleton man
No
It's twerking on its ghost
There's a steampunk Diablo-like game where you play as a demon hunter and the main character is voiced by Geralt from Witcher xD
Victor Vran?
Fanatical is having an "origins" sale with a few cool games bundled for $5
its too bad rime was super meh
How much do you guys reckon game developers play their own games?
Probably less and less the longer development goes on huh
Oh my fucking lord Return of the Obra Dinn is finally out
I've waited for this for 4 fucking years
oh ok
I saw that. Looks cool. What is it
it's the new game from the guy who made Papers Please
murder mystery game
It's art style is gorgeous
@gaunt hare I know I’ve watched the developers of Warframe and Trailmakers livestream their own games before but they are mostly showing off the features or fan creations.
I’m sure plenty of others have done it
HG should do it too
Wish they would :3
Remember the twitch steam during Waking Titan when new things were revealed?
They’d probably have a much bigger following if they had taken the route of live-streaming in-progress stuff
Instead of silence for months at a time
That’s what most people are all about nowadays. They like seeing the meat being cooked so to speak
Yesss
The ARG was neat but the second part was filled with frustrated people who just wanted the reveals and didn’t care about the ARG.
Which basically ruined the whole fun and mystery of the first part of Waking Titan
Because back then we didn’t know what we were getting
Mhm
I miss ye olde arg days
arg?
Arrgghh
John Marsten is in the new launch trailer for RDR 2 😍
“The weather won’t be on your side, but you’re doing this whether you like it or not” To complete this mission, you’ll have to skim through dangerous thunder...
That's the mission in the thunderstorm
oooh
amazon still hasnt gotten my preorder for RDR2 yet 😐
@jade lake LETS GOOOOOOOOO
No Man's Sky 👍
RDR2 😦
Well duh, lol
^
😛
A friend just bought me RDR 2 cuz he had no idea wtf Microsoft Rewards are, checked out how many points he had, and about crapped himself when he saw he had enough for 2 $100 gift cards
oh wow
damn you got nice friends
I had to clear out 105 GB of friggin space for this game, it's nuts
horse nuts.
69 of those GB are horse nuts
its been a month since my amazon order was placed, still hasnt gone through 😳
amazon get it together
ikr
It says 87 GB in the pic but apparently I needed 105, cuz after I was done clearing stuff I had 110-ish clear and now I have 5.3 xD
tbh the stupidly massive sizes of newer games drives me mad
Doom '16, Evil Within, Infamous Second Son, Dragon Quest XI, etc.
This is insane
My internet is shit so it's gonna take me til release to download this damn game 😂
lol
It's all these uncompressed textures on top of high poly models and all that
There's something to be said for figuring out great looking graphics without taking up a ton of space, which to be fair is a challenge
I wanna know why it ways 88 but it's really 105
i agree leon
@cinder vessel the friggin map has the first game's in it and more, and there's sooooooo much shit to do crammed in it
I'm kinda curious about that too S0ul, but for a variety of games
im gonna lol if the day one patch is giant
85 gb
Lots of games say xx amount but then tend to be slightly larger, which I guess is maybe just how it goes after install for some reason
its kinda crazy knowing that the sequel to one of my favorite games is like a week away
ive waited years lol
actually fuck its more of a prequel
but still
I think the funniest thing is, is that some of my favorite open world games have been more constrained, in part due to tech at the time. Beyond Good & Evil is pseudo-open world & loved it, but fairly limited in stuff to do. Shadow of the Colossus is literally just boss fights. Prince of Persia '08 is a tad similar but with some smaller in-between fights you can run into.
Shadow of the Colossus = all the boss fights
open world games generally have shitty open worlds, but Red dead has been unique and this looks like no exception
BOTW has a pretty empty world, no one likes to admit it tho
Tbh I tend to prefer more hub worlds to open worlds
@jade lake you get the War Horse from the first game if you pre-order 😍
i realize that i spend hours holding the B-button down in BOTW
Because hub has a cool set theme to it, and then the spoked levels from there can be a little of whatever and only loosely thematically related to the hub
I tend to think they often do, due to tighter focuses
I get my War Horse again 😭
What typically bums me out with a lot of open world designs is that they try to make them believable and so there tends to be a loss in environmental variety
I get a cash bonus and the Outlaw Survival Kit with stuff to replenish health, dead eye, "and more". I wonder what the more is 🤔
Ubisoft open worlds remind me of B-Movies in terms of quality
Like as sharp as the new Spider-Man looks, I know it's mostly city-city-city, with maybe some setpieces to vary it up
spider man just looks like a remake of those psuedo open world 2000's action games
Watch Dogs and the Infamous games were also pretty bad about that
Same situation with Prototype tbh
Hulk Ultimate Destruction from way back when actually did an okay job of having a few open environments to muck about in
and we don't talk about the second, lol
oh god no lol
lol]
Holy shit I'm so fucking excited
But yeah, hub worlds are tight. Spyro & Sly Cooper used them well, Vexx did too weirdly enough...Trying to think of what other games. Eternal Darkness, technically did too.
Ooh, another silly one: Musashi: Samurai Legend. Notoriously awful voice acting, but fun gameplay
It's really weird to go from times of your usual lava-ice-water-jungle-etc. level to a little less of that
I liked finding weird hidden stuff, like the painting you could go into in the first level/hub
Vexx is filled with that sorta stuff, which drew me in
I liked it, never got very far tho
I got way up to the last level, but never got around to the final boss
I don't think I even beat the first one, lol. I was like 10 and had no idea what I was doing. I got out of the hub world to the first world and got my ass kicked 😄
Aah yeah, I was older than that when I picked it up, but can see it doing that
I'd love to see one those cheap remasters where they clean up the graphics and sound so it looks better on newer TV's
THQ Nordic 👀
Or backwards compatibility on Xbox, it accomplishes the same thing xD
That reminds me, Resonance of Fate remaster's now up on the PlayStation Store
whats this supposed to be lol?
Started playing Path of Exile
at the recommendation of a friend
if you like Diablo, it's like that, but more complex, and free
^^^ becareful though that game can suck hours out of ur life
Ehhhh
It lags too much on my internet, lol
It's ok, kinda 😴 tho
I had a lvl 22 Duelist before I got bored and quit
in general it’s just 🤮
