Honestly the most annoying thing that persisted was - if someone stands near something you want to pick up, even if they aren't necessarily blocking line of sight, the prompt changes from "inspect this/loot this" to "Request Trade", and you can't swap off of that unless they move

Just standard PvP. I engaged one person, and ignored another, both times it was nice and made it easy to opt in or opt out.
Like if you die to someone you can just run away after you respawn a ways away, and if you kill them you can run away while they respawn, since they respawn close by
If you don't shoot back when someone is shooting you, nothing really happens. You can essentially ignore PvP players by just not returning fire.

Forge in 5 sucks, it has a lot more functionality but the maps are tiny
The only good thing that’s come from 343 taking over was spartan ops (story was meh but it was fun to have small contained missions to run when you were bored) and war zone (which would be better if it was a little less pay to win, but even still if you play enough the packages are still pretty fair)
But the stories have sucked and they’ve shit on the lore
They’re fun sci-fi pew pew games and that isn’t all that halo was or can still be

i've already said why i think its really good, the forge from 3 and reach had enough features so that the custom games scene didnt get stale for like 5 years, and it was simple which means literally anyone could hop in and make a map, where as with 4 and 5 the base maps arent as big or interesting, and on top of that because of all the features and complexity you have to spend a few days or even weeks to truly master it, which isn't feasible for most people. It better in that it can do so much more, but it isnt the best because it has objectively killed custom games as the were
that being said i reiterate im not asking for it to go away
just maybe a classic mode for those of us who dont need custom scripting and openable doors
