I feel like Square Enix has found a sort of sweet spot with their series. Dragon Quest is a solid, reliable revenue generator. Final Fantasy is more of an experimental series for some slightly weird stuff. And then you also have spinoffs from those which act as being either even more experimental, or simply something to shake things up, e.g. World of Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest Builders.
And then sometimes you get completely out there stuff from them, from working with other studios, like whatever the hell The Quiet Man is going to be

I know it's straying from topic here, but like for a moment: last thing NMS needs is more static, handcrafted stuff. That stuff is absolutely consumed within only a few hours, thanks to people sharing it all over.
It's like, sure, not a narrative spoiler but a gameplay spoiler, which normally shouldn't be a problem with a proc-gen game, but HG's asset pool for new content is often so limited that it simply is.
And honestly so far as I can tell with their weekly events it doesn't sound like they've listened to much feedback on missions, as it sounds like it's that but weekly + vanity rewards.
Anywho, didn't pay much attention to it but did core Destiny 2 get much additional free content after release? Or was that largely kept to the expansions? Because my understanding is that the core game is awkwardly barren, hence a lot of the criticism of it.

so there's a soft cap and a hard cap on power. hard cap is obviously, the highest it can go. but there's also a soft cap, which is when you stop gaining more powerful stuff from every regular encounter.
after you hit the soft cap, you need to get "powerful engrams" in order to gain power, which in itself isn't a bad idea. the problem was, there wasn't enough things to do weekly, so you'd complete your few weekly engrams and then there wasn't really a point to keep playing.
that alone has been vastly improved just by having more things to work towards, but they're also increasing the number of sources you can get them from both in terms of things to do and basically doubling the amount of times you can do some things in a week.
and by things to work towards i mean there's seasonal ranks you get at certain vendors (vanguard and crucible) that you can always work towards
so that issue has been fixed
but it was definitely really bad before

Once large enough the dragon can carry the player and fly in order to reach reach new places. Flying is easily one of the best ways to get around and it’s easy to get swept up in exploration and lose track of time while soaring free.
