Well, they're on version 1.4.2 as of today. It has a Fusion Mode with X Parasites and Core-X phases in three boss fights. They've added a New Game+ where the lava is lowered to the second-lowest level and opens up the structure of the game to free exploration. You can also use three different flavors of item randomizer that can either just shuffle expansion locations, item locations, or mix the two together. All of these features can be used individually or together in one playthrough. It's basically the most feature complete remake of Metroid II now.
