Everybody just wants a slick looking representation in their game
I doubt it's gta
And you're going to get that more in cyberpunk than any other game shown at E3
Because at the end of the day, what's all that power without lookin' good?
for sure
Cyberpunk was the only game that I remember being shown with full character customization
Also, apparently sekiro is going to have no multiplayer
Hmm....
Sounds fine to me, lol
That's a first, Miyazaki
I love soulsborne online stuff, but I admit it's not as novel as it used to be
I couldn't use it with Bloodborne because PS+ bullshit so 🤷
PS+ is pretty worth it
Nope
We got XCOM 2 this month
And Black ops 3 and trials
XCOM seems cool
I can't blame you for not getting it if you have PC though
wait cyberpunk isnt an rpg?
It's infuriating to pay for lower quality online with no cross play when you can get it free elsewhere
It's completely an RPG
It's an RPG first
o
You'll be playing as a character called V (fully customizable, male or female)
and fully voiced.
Think mass effecr
effect
My arguments against PS+ are:
-Sony's stupid crossplatform isolationism.
-Finicky service still.
-PS+ games are just an attempt at lock-in.
-It prevents you from playing with friends, essentially billing you for friends.
So yeah. Some of what ya said above.
If your console is your primary means of gaming, I absolutely understand, but it still pisses me off because they're exploiting that.
I know fuckall about it so can't say much
ps plus
Wait, don't you still get games with gold
and don't you still have to pay for Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer
Yup
what even is this trash
Animal crossing
oh my god
No I mean Game Pass
what a sinner
Hahaha I know
what is this trash Game Pass
oh nvm
I keed
Make multiplayer free and just make people pay for Game Pass you fuckers
Game pass is fucking garbage
It's legit like
"Here's what PS+ , EA Access, etc offers. Except we're making you pay £40/month for Xbox Live Gold, AND an extra £8/month for the Game pass"
The very best I can give them is that Game Pass has actually new games on it, whereas PS+, tends to have older games
Like, merge games with gold and game pass and make that your sub thing. Then add discounts to the side of that for the Xbox Store. Boom. There's your continued revenue stream
🙏
But then they would make less money
Xbox Live Gold and PS+ are overpriced anyway
PlayStation is PS now
I mean hell, £40 a year just to play online?
PS Now is not equivalent to Game pass though
year
This is what I wish PS+ would be. Discounts, games monthly, and a stable library (so no switching games out of it) but you only get the games added if you're subbed at the time.
Oh, I thought it was similar
PS Now is more like Xbox One Enhanced
except you stream the games
instead of just having them be updated
and they're not enhanced
It's actually just backwards compatibility but instead it'a a streaming service
and it's fucking piss poor
propaganda
I tried to play Shadow of the Colossus on PS Now
and the latency was just fucking apalling
Oh no guys some scary stuff is happening
I hope there's a military to take matters into its own hands
God Bless the Military Industrial Complex 🇺🇸
Hahaha
They are literally showing CIA torturer techniques and going "those sick sons of bitches..."
Fuck off.
"you're late"
"your imaginary watch is fast"
I don't know if I can do this.
I wish people would stop calling "Captain Spirit" Life is Strange 2
It's not life is strange 2 gdi, that's like saying Captain America was Iron man 2 🙃
they've already had one spinoff game, is why people are calling it LiS2
🤔 Wait they didn't already do Life is Strange 2?
I must be confusing it with the prequel
Yeah, Before the Storm
That one was far more Life-is-Strangey than Captain Spirit it looks like
hey did you see the new gameplay for starlink ?
you mean amiibofied no man's sky
I'm still not sure how I feel about Pokemon Let's Go!
I like almost everything about it
it feels fake
the only thing I dislike is there's no wild pokemon battles
You can only catch pokemon now.
the catching mechanic is so ehhh
Luckily you don't have to use motion controls to catch but still
I'm fine with the PoGo catching mechanic
but I'd rather be able to fight pokemon still
yeah
@Virtual_Orca Frame rate seemed 60, but there were some hiccups. It’s alpha. And you could see you parts yes
Oh I can see me parts, nice
beep
they're ripping off discord and hopefully it goes well
why
I mean Reddit is trying to copy discord too
Competition is good, it's literally Discord's features
And Discord just copied Slack.
whatever they're gonna do, discord will do better lol
What about steam integration :>
And I'm actually a bit more inclined to trust Steam because they're already printing money, they don't need Nitro or anything more...underhanded
I know that video a while ago about "Discord selling your data!" was mostly clickbait, but it does raise the question of "what's their business model anyway"
Every silicon valley tech company.
^^^
Take massive losses
They make money because investors think they will become profitable one day.
Nitro probably does a good bit, but I'd be very surprised if Discord's own cash flow sans investors is not negative
Also let's be honest. The price point for Nitro probably pays for like a hundred free users.
And every single company to exist abuses data as much as possible
ehhh
Kinda my style
Yeah it’s like the music you hear in the best dramatic movies out there
Thriller
I’m probably going to buy the game
For the style only
Already

Howd the nintendo conference go
MGS1 & then MGS2 are all you really need, MGS3 if you want a fun little romp (not fanfic, given it is canon)
MGS4 is fanservice
Its the video game embodiment of fan service?
Alright alright thank
It's fanservice for MGS series veterans
A sendoff to the series, really
MGS5 is just kinda...Whatever. Konami ruined it.
It's enjoyable, but it didn't get a proper ending

Ok that sounds cool ngl
I dont have a switch though

Here's my hacking simulator guys. Have fun hacking.
https://basicmaths.games/hacker/
telnet telehack.com
mine
or just visit it via http
or
ssh via port 6668
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Yours uses Unity, nothing of value is being lost.
or you can just use ubuntu
😭
Calm down, Gilfoyle.
but mine's an actual game
So is mine. 😃
Well, a game AND a pre-graphical internet archive, including super duper ascii based BASIC and zspec games.
like ZORK!
and usenet archives
we're still working on accurate BBS emulation, not much of that was archived, sadly, so we're trying to recreate some of it
mine's just a laptop with pretty green text that looks like a terminal 😭
(believe it or not, some testers had a hard time with that without the hint)
lol yeah
crappy testers be crappyt
Feel free to mess around on telehack
every one of the 25,000+ hosts is hackable, but you'll have to fight other actual users for root on those hosts
and telehack itself is hackable if you know how to search through and POKE some assembly. 😛
Most of telehacks "hacks" are actual hacks used back in the early to mid-80s
I feel like I'm not smart enough for your game Anomaly
we try to be as accurate as possible
smart/knowledgeable
read telehack.txt
but.... I never learned how to read
it gives you 50% of the stuff youll need to know to mess about
lol
I actually even made a guide..
look
best guide ever.
@feral pawn
Believe it or not, I actually used a lorum ipsum generator to make that, because I'm super lazy, as I stated before.
lmao
ur a guide
@feral pawn Try making an account, as a start lol
Nioh 2 sounds like it should be good:
https://gematsu.com/2018/06/nioh-2-has-character-customization-protagonist-possesses-the-power-of-yokai
hell yeah
@cinder vessel https://youtu.be/MoufzJEpvps
lol
This is interesting because I remember this guy covering cyberpunk way back when
that's dumb, it'll be fine in first person
BUT OMG NO I WANT THIRD PERSON BLERGH
🙄
Its not dumb because in the early days CDPR said the game would be first and third
i mean it still is?
No, they claimed you could play the game in third person
But also how many people reacting remember that, and how many are just going, "GRAARR"
It's interesting in terms of gameplay design though because CDPR is claiming it's an artistic decision when it's pretty clearly a necessary cutback
I mean either way, given how long ago that was, I don't know why anyone would take that as a lasting statement.
🤔 Artistic? Ookay, just say you wanted to make it first person, lol
They said that and basically it seems pretty clear they had to make a choice
This guy's information seems to be legit, and he says the developers had to make a choice between first and third
I think they made the right choice
It's kind of weird though, considering we have stuff like Bethesda's work indicating you could do both. I'd have to imagine it's them leaning into doing first person really well instead of trying to do both in rather mediocre ways
Ya,I agree
Because like...Elder Scrolls third person is really bland
I consider Bethesda third person bad
Only really good for screenshots
Yeh
It's just kind of interesting from a game development standpoint because you can tell they are saying things a certain way because of Internet feedback
Guess, but it is what ya do when ya wanna play the crowds
Also it's just like politics. Theres decisions you have to make, moments where you have to decide what to say, and eventually you just have to take the leap
I'm sure CDPR discussed behind closed doors dozens and dozens of times whether they could keep third person, and then they discussed dozens and dozens of times how to respond to disappointed people.
I'm certainly going to keep an eye on this guy because he's predicted a couple things
Seems pretty certain he's talking to someone inside.
Maybe. I'm content to just wait on the game to come out for gathering more info.
Ya, I've thought about taking that approach.
I guess I just think it's fun to follow the speculation and leaks and developer interviews.
I've also been in the trenches so to speak with a few games before release, and it's no longer interesting to me anymore
I think video games are pretty unique in that most forms of entertainment don't have a lot of room for speculation.
Like there's just no point to me to cling to every prerelease interview word, and bother imagining someone else's world instead of your own
Movies slightly, but books and music are pretty much under wraps until it's out.
Ya. I guess I just think it's fun. I could totally understand being over that, though
I'm also really tired of hearing the word iterate, lol
And the language we tend to speak about game descriptions and statements as "promises" just bums me out. They're not your friends, they're professionals, workers, and if they wanted to make a promise with someone, they'd do it through a contract, not some random interview.
I totally agree with that.
I don't really understand how that came to be how game elements were discussed. It's not exclusive to games either, to be fair, but it's such a weird way of taking the information.
It's like getting upset that a musician cut a track or two from an album. It sucks, but that's between them and the publisher, they didn't make any commitments to the audience, lol
I was just thinking today how messed up game development can be because developers are walking on a minefield
If you say ANYTHING or tweet ANYTHING then it's suddenly a solemn promise
I'm waiting for the devs that just start saying fuck you and no to audiences
Like in a sense DICE are doing that now with Battlefield
That's the thing though, I think they are fired up. I think a lot of times they really believe they can accomplish things they say. It's kind of like what Sean Murray said in that infamous interview
"Ya I guess I could say no, but really their expectations fuel me. I get excited they are excited"
Or whatever
I know that came to bite him in the ass, in particular
but I don't think that's something that can be changed. I think creative people really are fueled by that and always will be
Honestly the only dev that really pissed me off in terms of prerelease talks kinda stuff is Peter Molyneux, but that's more to do with how he fucked over his Kickstarter crowd. How the fuck do you squander the last little bit of goodwill you may have with folks like that.
Ya, that was so messed up
Turning it into a mobile game
Abandoning the project before completion
And claiming over and over that you're committed to the PC build only to fuck off from it
Like people get pissed at Inafune with Mighty No. 9, but at least he delivered a finished game
with past employees
True, but at the same time, he fucked off before the game was finished, didn't he?
The quality might not have been the best with the artwork, but the gameplay itself is still mostly alright
Or was that the final fantasy tactics Kickstarter guy?
I think that was the FF Tactics guy
I know that guy fucked off before the project was done
But that was a whole other weird fucked up project
How much did inafune have to do with mega Man though
I think it's still in some strange hell situation
I feel like he took advantage of playing a small part in mega Man to make a lot of money
and he definitely tried to make an animated series
and comic books and stuff
before Mighty 9 was released
I heard for the FF tactics game, a new studio took over
Like an inexperienced studio basically bought it and is doing some pretty honorable work to try and make the game
He didn't really play a small part, but he had a weird role as artist, and later producer with some of the games
I respect that new studio so far, based off of their messages
They are really trying.
They also told the Kickstarter backers straight up
Oooh yeaah, I remember reading about that now.
"we can't refund you, we don't have that money, but we are going to try and make the game and you'll get it"
If those dudes fail, it wasn't meant to be.
I'm pretty sure they are giving it a go.
I'd love to see another FF tactics type game
Honestly looking over Inafune's history, it's kind of no wonder he fumbled about. He's more of an artist that stumbled into acting as a producer, lol
Have you tried the Fire Emblem games?
They're not exactly the same, but they're still tactical RPGs
Ya, but never finished one
Closest I'm playing now is XCom 2
Xcom is hard man...
I clearly haven't played enough tactics games
I play a lot of chess but XCOM 2 is fucking me up
what i kind of want
is a tactics game
for VR
where if you move pieces/characters the right ways
you can shake up the world itself somehow
Hey guys : Razer Ornata or Razer Black Widow Ultimate?
@winter yew try them first
eh i might after i get paid, if they are still there lol
Need to see if I can get my xb1 controller working with Prey again
Peripherals needs to be touched not researched. You may find opinions lacking in validity. While you may have definable wants for a peripheral... the build and feeling you can only test in person
Razer also doesnt use the industry standard switches
right
So their keyboards for example arent thr same as cherry mx for mechsnic etc
Imho spend lots on good keyboard . Mechsnical preferrably.. youll never need to replace it
Cherry mx is consistent between resellwrs.. the you only worry anout key config. Razer daskey and some others have their own switches
Re:mice just go and trt it at the shop
No mouse is the best
Wired is better response time. Wireless sometimes has lag
Razer has some high speed woreless i hsvent tried it yet
Anyways. Good luck
Finding good peripherals is likr dating
Anyway, i'm trying to find a good way for cleaning fingerprints off a monitor ?
Get a microfiber cloth and just wipe it down. Depending on how bad it is, you may not even need a cleaning solution
Wipe them off with your fingers and spit
Woop NO
Don't listen to him, he's no scientist
The enzymes in your saliva will dissolve the fingerprints and other shmutz, then you just need to wipe it down with a piece of tissue
Ok i got a little further in PREY. A little more used to keyboard and mouse control now.
I hate and love prey
whenever I play it I am traumatized after and expect a mimic everywhere
I can deal with all sorts of horror stuff but not with jump scares
you getting the expansion? @winter yew
Nah not yet
Wanna complete the story first lol
I actually had a few jump scares that weren’t scripted lol
I knew the fucker was in the room, I just kinda spaced it and he caught me with my pants down, so to speak
Then before I quit, I had to make my way to the arbotoreum and realized there was a shitload of them in the main lobby.
Tossed out a few lures and hauled ass only to be unable to run the elevator due to one of the voltaic guys that saw me go in so he hugged up on the closed door
Was causing the elevator to spaz and short out lol
I love the little details like that
But you cant land on any of them and its limited to few planets
I dont understand why they havent allowed dev mode in the game yet for nms
because, ARG ?
No i mean for the actual nms game
Ohh
Atleast make it give a eror log or something when the game bugs and crashes
That way it would be possible to figure out what went wrong
I feel like they are lying
haveny heard a single person talk about it
or jump force
or whatever bge is
beyond good and evil
Bge is very big
crimson hexagon is trustworthy usually
@gaunt hare its been 12 years since the last game
Jump Force over Cyberpunk and all those other games demonstrates just how whack that list is.
"a sprawling cyberpunk city open world first person shooter by the makers of Witcher 3" ehhh
"Naruto fights Light" OMGERD!!
Damn kids get off my lawn...
Apparently star field is set in future of the same universe of bethesda
Which universe?
Well the universe in which its(bethesdas) other games exist
Fallout and Elder Scrolls aren't in the same canon are they??
That seems a bit lazy if so...
They are supposedly same universe but different times
And also different parts of the universe
that sounds like a bullshit crossover
I mean its just rumors at this point but it makes sense
but hey ... you can crossover Final Fantasy and Disney and it works
so why would that not work
Ya. That either doesn't make sense or they are so separate (like existing in different galaxies) it becomes pointless
That works because both are so ridiculous it doesn't matter.
You can do whatever you want and it's like sure.
Real life humans like Jack Sparrow talking to a cartoon duck talking to an anime person with a two ton sword? Sure whatever.
Disney is the devil.
I swear this game haha its so convoluted and ridicolus ... there are like 10 versions of the main antagonist
But its fun to play I have to admit that ...
I really enjoyed Kingdom Hearts back in the day.
At this point though I just find it really cynical. Like it's just regurgitating things. Also the way Disney is now it's like a big ugly monster that's eating everything.
There's a few really original ideas, really artistic stuff at E3.
the story of the games was hard to understand in the first 2 instalments but then they decided to include time travel and put important backstory into a mobile game
I think it's really sad if that's true. That all you have to do is get the lady from Frozen to run around on screen and everyone turns to that.
Instead of these new IPs or really gameplay focused games.
I don't want to know what happens if they add Star Wars / Marvel to kingdom hearts
I don't mean to sound like I don't want people to enjoy KH3 if they do. Like I said, I liked the games. I'll probably play this one if it's awesome and on sale.
But at least these other games are trying stuff. Going for something new. That game in Japan, Ghost of Tsushima, isn't even on that list.
That shit was beautiful. Like, even if the game sucks, that's making a real original go of it.
If kingdom hearts is awesome, what do we gain? It will be fun and Disney wins again.
Nothing original
I don't know how I should feel rn
I hope the game will be fun , but its really not deserving the hype tbh
What do you think was the most exciting game of E3?
I'm saying Cyberpunk.
I know all we saw was a pretty cgi trailer but fuck it, I'm still saying cyberpunk
I so hope Beyond Good and Evil 2 is awesome.
Boy though, I thought that stage showing really sucked.
And was like, worrying
Lady, you absolutely did not "nail it"
but also I have to confess that KH was most fun to watch
I dont know why tho
thats sad
Most fun to watch for me was Ghosts of Tsushima or Last of Us 2
Last of Us 2 looked fucking fun. I love the new dodge.
ye ghost of tsushim looked amazing
Days Gone looking good too.
I don't like zombie games
Wow, that really sucks for you because like 50 percent of games are zombies these days
The only one I liked was Left 4 Dead
They are definitely oversaturating
But I don't know, I thought they oversaturated space Marine. We are still getting tons of space Marine games
I guess things like zombies and space Marine just works well for video games. Easy to code zombies.
ye there are like 4 or 5 upcoming triple A space marine games ... right?
Anthem
Halo
Uhhh
I know there's more
Zombies we got last of us, resident evil 2, days gone
overkills the waliking dead
Japanese we got Ghosts, Sekuri, and Nioh 2
Add anime, and Those are the four types of games
Anime, Set in Japan, Zombies, Space Marine
Take your pick
Cyberpunk and Last of Us.
Kingdom Hearts still does some weird as hell narrative stuff that I find interesting, but none of it relies on Disney
I'm increasingly interested in Control though, as its setting sounds potentially strange
Whoa someone here is playing Elex
Supposedly it's okay if ya can roll with the rough edges
I guess it's kind of like Andromeda for me though. Even if it's ok, I just don't have the time
There's still so many truly great games ihavent touched or haven't beaten
I'd try out Andromeda and Elex if it wasn't for that
Yup, right enough there
Not worth the frustrations to see what they do right, more or less
By the way everyone survival mode update is dropping for The Long Dark tomorrow
You should buy it if you like open ended survival. It also has an unfinished story mode that is.... ok.
But the survival is sweet and tomorrow we are going to get real time cooking.
So you can like put a stew on and do other things while it cooks over the fire
At least, I'm pretty sure that's what's going into the update. No patch notes yet, but they have been teasing the hell out of it.
Also, anyone play Vampyr?
i just want my episode three of the long dark yo
I know right.
In three months it will have been a year.
I'm watching a talk by the creative lead of the long dark, Raphael Van Lierop, that he made at GDC
Seems like he's going to go into some of the troubles they've had.
He really took the lukewarm reception of Wintermute personally
In this 2018 GDC session, Hinterland Games' Raphael van Lierop shares hard-won lessons about the community-informed development of The Long Dark, the princip...
so let me get this straight
even if you unlink your sony playstation account off of fortnite, you still can't play on Xbox or Switch?
you mean 'carry your progress'
no you can't play on xbox or switch with the account. they infect it and tell you no to anything other than sony
you can unlink playstation, but they still won't let go
Huh
yep
it's locked even then. locked, of course, for anything other than themselves
da fuuuuuck
it's 2018 and every gaming platform is playing together except sony. you are leading in console sales. stop worrying about losing them
and it's cross saving that got hit, not cross play. this is just icing on the cake
sums up e3 pretty well https://youtu.be/FnRHJ_nhgjU

a little odd him calling FO76 a type of metal gear survive game
it looks nowhere near that bad
like
cmon
it's just the survive part and making dumb fun
anybody still play tf2 lol
damn, not in ages personally
I couldn't keep up with all the updates
And I was already never great
That game is so boring
TF2
Just go play overwatch or some shit that actually looks like good. TF2 still running on the shit source engine
Well
It generates a lot of money
Has a lot of gamemodes
And is much more chill than overwatch
TF2 was really great when it came out, now it's just...What even
Game still shit
If you mess up in overwatch you have the whole team berating you. In tf2 no one gives a fuck if you mess up
I wouldn't say it's shit
wow someone just has a vendetta against TF2 😮
I mean overwatch and tf2 are the same
No difference
(yes I know there is a difference)
(but I'm saying that for fun)
they're both class-based shooters with heavily differentiated loadouts
no takebacks, overwatch and tf2 are in the same universe
"""hero shooters"""
hats are the ultimate goal
In overwatch it's the fan service
Tf2 hats
Overwatch skins
Also mostly weebs play overwatch
lol
I said that as a joke
i only pay attention to overwatch for the non-game content

because the comics, the short vids, all those are way better than bothering with the game
and obviously the pr0n
I was going to make a joke about "enjoying overwatch for the plot" but that's - welp

they should honestly just make a proper animated series at this point, I'd watch it
and romance novels
Or a movie
I don't know enough of the characters to say much of anything, lol
Roadhog and Junkrat or whatever? lol
Those seem like an obvious pairing

i know next to nothing of this cast
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_lmP8jYVLs this game looks sweet, kinda remind me of NMS
Reveal Trailer for Coffee Stain Studio’s new game Satisfactory. Handy links and more info below: ******* Info ******* Website + FAQ: https://satisfactorygame...
I never thought I'd ever see Coffee Stain Studios again
It's looks like a NMS Styled Factorio in 3D
yeah they were probably been working on this game
haha weren't they the guys behind goat simulator?
they've clearly moved on to bigger and better things
agreed
It's kind of a bummer Sanctum didn't take off more
Those games had a cool look to them
I didn't really remember that Coffee Stain developed those until I checked that stuff again, but I knew they'd done something else
3d Factorio is a-ok by me
Same
Plus the look of the environments is nicer
Factorio has this rather drab look to it. Fitting for the industrial theming, I guess, but eh
Games are supposed to be a escape from reality.. but people seem to like simulators of all sorts

I myself like flight simulators but thats where i stop
A good simulator streamlines a bunch of tedium, imo
Still gets the analog feel emulated, but without as much of the real demands
Flight simulators make sense (like xplane) since they are close to real ones without the dangers of crashing/ killing people... remaining simualtors are a bit heh (farming simulator is relatively ok)
yep, run by SYFY/NBC Universal
might also just be promotional though
sorta like the Silicon Valley website
That looks cool. Major similar-to-wt vibes.
I detect a copycat.
Smash (dem buttons so you break your controllers and buy replacements to make us print money) Bros
Revive the memories of your deceased loved ones? Not very common if I’m not wrong.
Raphael van Lierop (@RaphLife) Tweeted:
I know you're all wrapped up in #E32018 news and good on ya, but I also know some of you are waiting for news about when our next update to #thelongdark Survival Mode is going to drop. Hint: Clear your Thursday. https://t.co/Jhdg33XSou https://twitter.com/RaphLife/status/1006662891930435585?s=17
“I know you're all wrapped up in #E32018 news and good on ya, but I also know some of you are waiting for news about when our next update to #thelongdark Survival Mode is going to drop. Hint: Clear your Thursday.”
As did I.
Not on the Reddit.
Haha I don't get people who made posts to say I told you so
They must love negative karma lol
Haha, I'm glad nms wasn't at E3 just because Hello Games wasn't there
I'd rather them get to announce their hard work rather than a publisher.
Yeah I think that's fair!
I checked that guys post history for more Todd jokes and it led me to milliondollarextreme
JESUS
I'm glad that show was cancelled and Sam Hyde sucks.

Gonna play through the Black Ops 3 campaign
probably not worth it, but I got it for free so why the hell not
Oh shit I can customize my guy what
well, Black Ops 3 does
last CoD I played was Advanced Warfare
and that was pretty decent ngl but I enjoy the futuristic thing
there's some really slick levels in that campaign
Oh boy
realistic difficulty
yes please
Oh so the character creation was "Select 1 of 9 faces" lol
@light cairn My character smokes. Immersion ruined /s
drat
Oh shit is this 60fps
nice
Realistic is fun holy shit
Luckily the respawn is fast haha
You can get shot through the floor though loool

woop shut
Okay I'm already stuck and 50% sure the game broke
"Rendevous at Hotel Tango" game shows marker , so I go to the marker, nothing happens, then a ship spawns an instakills me
i've now been hiding from the ship for like 4 minutes and nothing has happened
me and my brother had same problem and starting from checkpoint it will do same you have to restart whole mission sadly
you're fucking joking 🙃
Games been out a year and they never fixed this? Not that I'm surprised 😅
Okay good, had to save and quit and reload, saved me from redoing the whole thing.
Okay that fighting in pitch black segment was awesome though
even if it was only one room
Holy shit robots okay then
HOLY SHIT my HANDS
2054? Where are my Detroit: Become Human androids?
heh
I think those are in Infinite Warfare
Except they're better because they're just mini-mecha
Control is sounding better and better the more I read about it:
https://www.engadget.com/2018/06/14/control-remedy-entertainment-e3-impressions-video/
i totally forgot they did Alan Wake
o_O Which game did you remember them for?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
quantum break
lol, I just like to imagine Skip had this vague idea of, "Oh, uh...They make...Some game or other"
Whoooa, any of you see this before?

anyone play ark?
its on sale atm
tempted to buy it
i would be playing it single player though
ark is kinda fun. Very time consuming though. And a huge commitment to play online
it has a redwood forest
And you can build bases in the trees
is it a viable game to play offline or coop with few people?
Has the 505 games e3 thing passed already
@silent atlas ark takes up over 100GB of storage
Dav I found it harder playing offline. Less exciting. But definitely doable. Bit harder maybe.
Overeptic - they hand a stand. I don’t believe they were showcasing. But i do think e3 is over?
Btw dav
@silent atlas if you want a game like ark but singleplayer, subnautica or the long dark might be good options.
It is filled with Chinese people who are part of one huge clan and they will ruin the game for you
Ark is pretty sketchy without the fun factor of multiplayer.
Like it's a lot easier to overlook all the broken, unfinished feature creep if you're with your pals.
Or the Forest
It's Grindy AF
i dont wanna play online
Then probably best to go with one of the other games Okapi suggested
I've not really read of anyone enjoying Ark solo
Heh, you all read about the Battlefield subreddit imploding?
I did.
I saw when the post went up.
Honestly, good on the mods.
I was about to unsubscribe
Yeah, I hadn't even thought to look over there
just because it was so fucking tedious and annoying
I imagine it was miserable
we r gud at discuss
A lot of high horse
They even made a meme about it
It's going to be like the black soldier on the cover
of 1
Game will come out and no one will give a shit
Oh wait, did that rile people up at the time?
Huh. Weeeirdddd
Same with Kingdom Come Deliverance
Once the two sides get bored of their cause, they move on
Just imagining if it was a black woman on the next Battlefield set during some other period where they're like, "NO" would literally delete the subreddit
and all that's left is the game. Just a game. Not that big of a deal.
My fingers are crossed for a transsexual
The interesting part of that is that you wouldn't even know until some random line of dialog
And the developers would tell you.
Because those dudes are taking a stand
That's part of the controversy
Although with this and the last cover, they just kinda put the cover up, didn't they?
well its been decided for me. i can't buy games ons team anymore haha. i'm in the US now but my bank accounts are in Canada so steam won't let me buy anything
FML
submitted a ticket
Haha, that sucks.
Oof, that's a pain
i literally have 1000s of steam games
o_O
Master Race
they will have to fire someone to make up fro the loss of revenue
when valve goes public the number of games you have should net you some stock options, lol
Seems like most steam players have hundreds and hundreds of games
Cause steam and various sites and whatnot are like "YOU WANT FOUR COPIES OF LEFT FOR DEAD FOR A NICKEL??"
I mean I have a bunch but that's 100% thanks to Steam sales and Humble Bundles
Envious.
I used to do similar with console, but with used games and sales
Then I learned used games sales don't really go back to devs and got a bit sad
That said, big publishers? I'll grab their games used 😛
is how i have so many games
i just set it up to filter by games i dont have and buy everything under 5 cents per game
wh...why.
recently just made 500 bucks from selling the cards i got from idlemaster.exe ;p
pays for itself
you get lots of booster packs
That is easily the most bizarre thing I've read about
i know right
there is a critical mass point
once you have 2k+ games
if all are fully idled to 5+ hours
you can get LOTS of booster packs
i get one evryday uusally
just...the whole gaming of it like that
are you sure steam isn't your most played game
😄
i can only imagine
the guy that has a level 5000 steam account
he must get like 200 booster packs a day
oh fuck that sounds awful
queueing up the selling is the awful part haha
ich ecked into some of their accounts
most of them haven't idled a single game
and have only like2-3 games that are fully idled
out of 10s of 1000s of games
so they are just buying the games AND cards
for steam levels
so not only are they not even gaming tghe system but wtf haha
... I question the mental state of these people...
they run some kind of gaming clubs etc
🤔
iPhone SE not listed in the compatibility list, yet it’s got the same specs as the 5th gen iPad
Haha goddamn Ark
Not a fan of those developers.
Think it's a cool game, but in my opinion they screw their community pretty hard.
Vigilant Flame, the latest free update to The Long Dark, is available now. It features new cooking mechanics, Buffer Memories and an all new region in Hushed...
Ok I'm done posting stuff about the long dark now, I swear.
But holy shiiiit dude!
Immersive cooking!
New location!
This new location being completely nature, no man made structures at all!
Ark is really only worth experiencing with multiplayer, imo
Ya it's jank, but the emergent gameplay can be crazy.
TL;DR JANK is a feature not a bug.
Haha no
I wasn't saying that jank makes the game more fun with people (though it definitely makes for fun sometimes)
just that you can look past the jank if there's social interaction, either with strangers or with your friends
If you're playing solo, it's like why am I playing this broken ass game?
The social capability of Ark and the room it gives for people's personalities/role-playing to shine is what makes it fun.
nah
@cinder vessel elaborate?
Eh I deleted it off my phone
I’d rather play a game like that on pc
I can play Minecraft just fine on my phone however
I'm just bein' dumb
And obnoxious about multiplayer
It's herding cats but without the cute and the fluff
Lol
You're the least multiplayer person ever
Ark allows for betrayal
I think betrayal is one of the most interesting ideas in multiplayer gaming that hasn't been explored yet but will be explored over the next few years (it's already started, and hell, we may see it in NMS after NEXT)
In Ark you can work with a group of people but if that person or those people are plotting against you, they can choose to take you out and take your stuff
so you have to make decisions based on your voice and in game communications with people
"how much do I trust this guy?"
If someone gives you a gift, do they have an ulterior motive?
It gets double interesting once a clan is pondering those same questions about another clan.
I'm really looking forward to how gaming allows us to play with and against each other in an open environment where a lot of questions have to be asked before you make a decision
"this guy has a high skill in something I need, is it worth betraying him?"
Maybe you're a nice guy and never betray
Maybe you're a shifty bastard like Patches
I just think there's a lot of interesting situations that can arise when there's a positive AND a negative to attacking a friend
Where loyalties can be for real life friends or for a clan you've interacted a long time
And where betrayal or taking advantage of someone can go both ways. Maybe it backfires, maybe it benefits you.
For all the great work people do on AI systems, nothing is quite as interesting as real people communicating and playing off of each other, both in terms of gameplay and in terms of personality.
That just sounds like griefing
It's not.
Griefing implies that the griefer has nothing to lose.
Griefing is just making life difficult for a new player when the experienced player has all the power
(which will always happen in multiplayer games no matter what)
What I'm talking about specifically is moments where you're weight decisions that could benefit or harm you based on how you interact with another person.
For instance, approaching a high level player as a new player. I did that in Ark once, approaching a scary looking fort, all set up
The guy ended up being a sweetheart who gave me a bunch of gear, set me up with a raft, and bid me farewell as I kept exploring.
That moment of watching him from afar and making the decision wether or not to approach him, weighing the two options of
He could take advantage of my new player status and fuck me up
OR
Maybe he's nice and will help me out
was a moment that I think is unique to the interactive, multiplayer space of video gaming. This is seen in a lot of classic table top board games
I mean I take griefing as someone just repeatedly being a dick and impeding your progress
And I hope video games take more advantage of it as time goes on.
And betrayal/people breaking your shit may as well be that imo
To me it's like player invasions in a Souls game. Last fucking thing I want in a game where it already takes awhile to get what you're doing done. 🤷
Ya, and thats where we differ I guess because to me that's one of my favorite part of souls games
Especially around dark souls 3 where most of us were pretty experienced
Or dark souls 2
I'm really looking forward to
It just baffles me, it's like salt in a wound. who would want this.
Sekuri?
Sekiro
Sekiro
I think it's not supposed to have multiplayer tho?
I'm really looking forward to no multiplayer
Ya, I mean im looking forward to the change
I've played five games worth of mixing multiplayer and of classic souls combat
I was hoping that this game would take some risks and not be the same thing
and it definitely looks like they are doing that
Going to be interesting though.
Ghost of whatever, Sekiro, and Nioh 2 coming out at the same time
Love the prosthetic weirdness, and the quicker movement
Like apparently the prosthetic has some different tricks to it? Haven't read articles on it too closely
It's going to be like the trick weapons in bloodborne
but also play a little more of a
like
integral part
Like to make the combat really shine you have to use your arm
When it comes to verticality
It's kind of hard to understand when he describes it.
It's original, fairly.
It reminds me of Blood Will Tell, but that's just because whoa Asian setting, yo Mr. Prosthetic Guy
Except less goofy
Basically the new combat system is going to focus around breaking the other person's stance to go for the Kill Strike
(kind of like Nioh, but more extreme)
Like, that's going to replace the life bar
Instead of an HP bar necessarily, it's going to be guys trying to break down the others defences in a combination of attack and defense
until one of them is left open for the kill
It's interesting. Risky.
Can't really know until we can really watch some get into the gameplay.
Nioh 2 has me sold simply on letting you make your character
But yeah, if Sekiro is a little more of an active, tactical play learning from Bloodborne, that'll be wicked
Also their pitch was invigorating. They were like "we know what we are doing now. Kid gloves off. Balls to the wall"
They are very confident.
And after Nioh, I'm inclined to believe them when they say they are really going to define their gameplay ideas with this.
They literally said the first Nioh was them figuring things out, and now they are going to use what they have learned and make a truly great game.
I still own Nioh but I fucking suck at it.
Yeah, exactly. And they'll be doing another demo run like the first one to polish some of the rough edges
I think my dark souls obsession is fucking me
Nioh is too hard. It feels like my souls experience works against me. I didn't even think to use the blocking a lot until my third attempt at a playthrough
just from my muscle memory of being really roll focused in souls
Dodging gets you smashed in Nioh
Aaaah, yeah, taking time to adjust can be a pain
I'll try again eventually, but it's just whooping me
I sort of take this habit of trying to go into games like I've not played others before
At least for controls
What do you mean
So like even though generally many FPS games have a standard control scheme now, I still go and review the controls/read manuals (if there, anymore)
Or just pay close attention to the tutorial prompts, but that's iffy as hell with some games
Since they sometimes just appear then disappear super quick and it's like, what the fuck game
Haha
I honestly miss when games came with manuals
Oh me too
Because it'd typically answer your basic questions upfront
I remember the civilation manuals
Civilization 2-4
I used to read their thick book manuals over and over
So like I used to study those like a madperson, and now I just kind of try shit
Forget the other games, just try the dumb shit
Oh my goodness, I haven't thought about this in years. When Pokemon Crystal was out, I couldn't afford the game, I must have been like.... 10 years old? Something. At Blockbuster video they had a copy of the strategy guide. I saved up coins in a piggy bank type thing (it was a giant plastic Crayola crayon)
The guide cost 20 dollars
I literally came up to the counter and dumped 20 dollars worth of change
Onto the counter
And the dude was so nice, he counted out the entire pile of coins
And then the whole shop stood up and clapped
And then they were like, "No" lol
Gave me the guide
And I read that guide over and over and eventually got the actual fucking game
Good thing we have those stuff on the internent these days
Man I used to wrap pennies and fucking thank goodness they started introducing machines to process change into paper currency
Wrapping pennies was a fucking tedious thing
But it was a nice feeling buying games with the small booklet with the guide and the whole box set
Oh shit, I also remember going to buy a GameCube with my saved up money (my moms was willing to front 20 bucks cause I was excited)
I still have about 10 or so ubisoft and sega games boxes with those booklets
and the dude at the store was like "I can't tell you why, but you should come back in like five days"
I was so bummed, but I left anyway
But uplay wont allow me to play those games because its tied to my old pc
Turns out they were releasing a four pack of Zelda games with every gamecube
I kind of wish I had the cash to collect some guides. Guides have gotten even better these days.
I played Ocarina of Time for the first time because that dude told me to come back a week later.
Ooh damn, that's what that's from? I picked that up used
Bless those two employees
Also I didn't know you needed a memory card, and my parents didn't want to buy it, so I played the beginning of ocarina of Time like 10 times
I wasn't able to afford a GameCube until way after we were headed into the later PS2 days, heading into PS3 days
DID SOMEONE SAY MELEE
Like Id play to the deku tree, turn it off (I was worried it would ruin my GameCube) and then replay it, repeat
Which was such a bummer, since there were a ton of good games for GameCube too
Over and over
I remember when Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to the gamecube
That didn't fucking last
I remember playing mario kart on the game boy....it was amazing
Our best gaming years are behind us, boys.
Yeah
Pffft not in the fuckin' least
We still gettin' that good noise
The World Ends With You on the Switch
Sable upcoming
Outer Wilds weird noise
Astroneer at the end of the year
Dreams whenever the hell that happens
Sekiro's comin' up
Daemon x Machina the comeback of Armored Core with its own vibes
Astroneer is coming to switch?
lol
Oh yeah
I firmly believe games are better than ever
but damn, I don't know if anything will ever top playing ocarina of Time at 11 years old or whatever
Tis life
But playing games as adults is not that fun
Hence why games are fun when we are children
Not unless you get fucked up, and even then it's not as good
Yo just rewind your mind
Yo just never grow up
Yo
Did you guys have a guy in your school visit for assembly that did yoyos?
what's a school
Well who said i grew up... people still ask me why i act like a child
Ferb and Phineas
