Not really. From what I know D1's problems weren't with loot but with several other factors. They slowly improved on it over time, and then too 99 steps backward with D2

...Despite all that, I still snagged Mighty No. 9 for like $10 at a local store, new...And tbh, the gameplay itself isn't the worst. The art doesn't come close to the concept shots' fidelity, which sucks, but it plays very much like a classic Mega Man title
