I dont think AR will ever really take off in games, it's just easier to use VR or a normal monitor, while not really losing anything other than the "look my hand is inside the thing you cant even see" feeling

But yeah, if you enjoy the loop of stuff like Rogue Legacy, I think, but want a slick as hell scifi theme instead, Everspace is a good fit for that
You bounce into sectors of space, try to survive & go as far as ya can while gathering up resources/credits, then if ya die you can spend those credits on perks to improve your odds in the next round

You also have the classic space game stuff such as enemies with shields & hull hitpoints, and lasers & projectile weaponry to chew through the first to smash through the latter
Umm, I think so, yeah. It doesn't have the goofy lineage stuff of Rogue Legacy, but still has that raid/loot/die/upgrade/raid/loot/die/upgrade loop to it
There's also some light banter between your pilot and the ship computer that's pretty fun, probably gets tiresome after awhile but I'm sure there's an option to mute'em or whatever

What caught me is that the controls are really pretty in line with No Man's Sky's flight controls, albeit I think a tad tighter, maybe
The unlocked firing, instead of being tightly fixed to a center reticle is by far the best part of it imo
I really don't follow why HG is so hesitant to go that direction

So know how in NMS, you're generally very fixed with your aim? Like you essentially have to move the entire ship to hit an enemy in your peripheral vision

In Everspace your reticle is free to move further toward that periphery to nail shots on enemies right along your flanks
However it will still turn your ship should you move it far enough to the right/left

That sounds interesting... it reminds me of nms during PF patch, not sure if its implemented intentionally or glitch, but your reticle goes further down or up if you continue to have the joy downwards

It's not like a turret at all, since with a turret your movement & aim are bound together.
You're mostly free to aim wherever, up to the furthest edges of up/down/left/right. At that point it turns into pitching/turning your ship.
But by default movement is forward/backward W/S, strafe left/right is A/D, roll left/right is Q/E.
