You're just being overly literal
@rigid haven
I don't understand, but I'm still extremely intrigued
@rigid haven In Rs, 99 is the max level in a skill. Since the experience curve is exponential rather than linear, the amount of experience required to reach the next level, every time you level up, becomes greater, and greater. At level 92, the gap is so large that to reach level 99, you'd have to gain the same amount of experience you earned from 1 - 92, to reach 92 - 99.
So in a sense, level 92 is half of 99.
Good god
Here we go:
Lvl 1 to 99.
The full curve.
The numbers on the left are in millions.
...
no
what i mean is, at those amounts, i would say no
Oh, okay.
those are abusive >_>
Well, my end-game goal is obtaining 200m exp in each skill.
I've two at 200m already.
There are a good ~20 pages of people with 200m exp in all skills.
On the high scores.
Level 2000 holy shit
o.O?
Oh, the first few are apparently level 2000
That's total level - all skills combined.
Ah, right

The max "physical" level is 99, at 13m exp. You can attain level 120 "virtually", at 104m exp. This is for normal skills.
Slayer, and Dungeoneering max out at 120.
Invention maxes out at 120 as well, but has a max virtual level of 150.
This is due to the different experience curve it has.
The gold/orange flame icon you see on two of my skills, indicate a lvl 120 of at least 104m exp. The blue fire icon, means that skill is 200m exp.
Ah, I see
Also, I was wrong - there isn't 20 pages yet, only 13.
5,4b is the max exp.
It indicates 200m in all skills.
So, there are currently 318 players in the game with max exp.
Wow, That's some rock hard commitment
Yup lol.
Mind you, since roughly 2009 or so, the game has been getting progressively "easier". Quality of life features, and ease of access to stuff, as well as better, and better training methods and tools. Today, many - if not all skills - have training methods that can reach over 400k exp an hour.
This is for Rs3.
In Osrs, the story is quite different and it's much more grindy.
http://services.runescape.com/m=hiscore_oldschool/overall.ws
No one has max exp in Osrs yet.
Huh, Are people pissed about that? It seems like something that would be like that
Yup.
A lot of the older players are pretty peeved about how easy the game is; as such, they left to osrs.
Ouch
Once I attain 200m in all skills, I'll be heading to Osrs full time, too.
Ah. I'll have to have a little play around on it
Oh shit
Edited GoT scene, with Rs references lol.
Thought it was Planet of the Apes for a second
lol
I have zero idea what this is 😅
It's a joke, based on the fact that if you use an ability called "Asphyxiate" on the end-game boss called "Yakamaru", it will enrage him, and kill the entire team.
The Asphyxiate animation is just like Darth Vader's "force choke" thing.
Lmao
I need large amounts of potatoes
Same
Raw, or baked?
yes
Wait, baked are cheaper?
Yup.
Huh, weird
they don't value bakers much
Prices are decided by players.
Interesting
Hmmm
my statement stands, lol
Raw potato price history: https://i.imgur.com/jsbwc7U.png
Can I become a millionaire with potatoes
Baked potato price history: https://i.imgur.com/jFAqf7x.png
@rigid haven http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Grand_Exchange
Jagex has never published the Grand Exchange's exact pricing algorithms, although there are some reasonable guesses. By using the laws of supply and demand, the prices of items are updated depending on its recently traded prices and volume. For items with low volume such as partyhats, their prices update every few days or even once a week. Jagex can also intervene and set the prices themselves, and they reserve the right to intervene when they believe price manipulation is occurring on an inexcusable scale.
Oh, neat
i spent too long on this
mainly because i had to figure out how to use a drawing tablet and pen
its based on Slipways
fwoosh!
Oh wow, I just fought this weird crab squid boss in Runescape and it was a bit more interactive than I thought bosses would be
Oooh hot damn: http://www.capcom-unity.com/capkel/blog/2018/04/10/mega-man-x-legacy-collection-1-and-2-launch-july-24th
Oh shit
who cares about NEXT when we have MEGAMAN
Get ready to roll out, Maverick hunters! Join X, Zero, and Axl in eight incredible adventures when Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 bring the future of 21XX to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this July!
The best part is it's on all the things
What I don't fully understand is why they're not bundling the digital versions... 🤔
Aah yeah, that's a miss...
i have the first legacy collection on 3ds and it's such a good platform for it
though now with Switch 😏
oooh:
If you’re in the mood for the wailing 16-bit guitars of Mega Man X, X2, and X3, you’re in luck – both collections will include a full soundtrack for all four games included in each one. There are even brand-new tracks created just for Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 to check out, and incredible remixes of memorable music from each game.
interesting 🤔
new 3ds has a ton of snes games though
And they all run just fine
Can personally confirm Radical Heights is bad
damn, who'd've thunk it
It's just more Battle Royale stuff, right?
I appreciate everyone trying to have their take on the genre but at some point they need for realise that it's a saturated market as is
It's like Lets plays on youtube
it's a repeat of LawBreakers, i don't know what they were thinking
they literally did the same thing before
Hmm, Bosskey, right?
yep
at least make a BR that has more interesting and novel mechanics than "you can save money for future matches, and it's bad 80s themed"
Poor them, they might suffer quite a bit from this 😓
also you can pay $15 for a distinct advantage!
the founders pack gives you a straight up 10% boost to "off shore" cash
unless they actually did change it
either way it's in early alpha at best
certainly not something people should be spending money on at this point
The idea behind it is kinda good
Doing a whole gameshow take on the Battle Royale genre
Darwin Project came first and is much better
Oh? Hmm
there's a few more
Oh
Darwin's unique in that it has a foraging/crafting system, small matches, and (sometimes) a human game director
It's kinda unfair to call it BR tbh
The Culling did the game show thing
and guess what, that flopped too
as much as I hate to admit, darwin is probably gonna fail too
Darwin at least has private matches, although I don't know if those work should their servers go down
the only reason that PUBG and Fortnite are so big is because
- PUBG was just the first big one so people bandwagoned onto it
- fortnite is free
- they're both big streamer games
But, like, why not make a Battle Royale game with a story?
because that's not particularly conducive to store-telling?
at least not multiplayer
hell, Darwin Project has the best "lore" out of all of them imo
I mean, there would have to be bot matches because people do want to play the story without other people
IIRC Culling was big briefly before PUBG was even whispered about, but they did a lot of stuff that got people angry at the devs
like lootboxes
nobody is playing battle royale for story
Wait, PUBG doesn't have lootboxes?
It does...
Oh
Culling also did a lot of other bad stuff, but there's an interesting point you've just accidentally made
Also, no one plays Battle Royale games for the story because there IS no Battle Royale game with a story
how would you tell a story with the genre that's not entirely scripted?
I've never seen The Hunger Games, But I'm sure that has a story
Just do it like that
hunger games isn't even about the survival
That's kinda the thing though, BR matches are their own self-contained story already
One told in many different parts but
yeah, it has its own natural flow
Oh cool, each map could have it's own little arc where all the players can either work together or kill eachother, But in the end, a small group has to do something
Like taking down a dictator or, uh, hmm
Other things
that's not a battle royale game then
...but who set the rules for a battle Royale game...
How about one based in hell, But you have to ascend back onto earth to win
Or, wait
On where you ascend to earth and then to heaven
I'm thinking into this too much and none of it is making sense 😅
how does that change any gameplay though?
Alternate failure scenarios besides "someone else saw you and shot you"
i mean, there's not that much you can do without it being a different genre
probably more streamer bait or games as a service type stuff
i mean, they are
hollow knight, celeste, the end is nigh
shantae, owlboy
fe, shovel knight, gonner, steamworld dig
mario odyssey
kirby
flinthook, snakepass, bleed, typoman, torquel, xeodrifter
how many do you want me to list
vr chat
yes
No
how good are the endless games for someone who's only played Civ, because that's 99% of the bundle and I like Tooth and Tail but I don't want to buy only that for $12
Planetary Annihilation for $1? Wow
Dungeon of Endless is pretty good I think
How much is tooth and tail on its own?
Tooth and Tail looks like a game version of Pratchett's The Amazing Maurice...
3 games for 73p can't be bad 😃
@rigid haven, I'm 4 hours late, but yup. All of the bosses made after 2012 or so, have mildly complex mechanics. Some of the highest-end bosses have extremely punishing, extremely complex mechanics - such as Yakamaru, Telos, and Vorago.
Ooo, that's something to look forward to
The oldest bosses, like Corp, General Graardor, and the King Black Dragon, are super simple with no mechanics at all.
You just click on them and wait.
Well, to be fair... Corp does have this "dark core" thing, that you have to take a step away from, to avoid. That's it, though.
Hmm
They were all made before 2012.
So all the bosses pre-2012 are fairly simple, after that they get slightly less so
2012 is kinda the deciding factor between old and new content, when stuff kinda changed a lot.
Yeah.
2012 was the year of EoC.
Evolution of Combat.
As such, a lot of the newest bosses will be extremely difficult to fight, if you use Legacy combat.
They rely on some abilities.
Ohhh, so that's what Gallicien meant
@rigid haven https://i.imgur.com/xl3PV97.png
(reposting here, because #other-games.)
Another thing, @rigid haven: https://i.imgur.com/9QNNF9t.png
So, whilst a lot of the more complex bosses might call for ability usage, you can power through them with Legacy's raw damage.
Huh, that's a pretty neat little thing
Telos is a minor exception to that rule, at higher enrages. You can kill him at low enrages in Legacy, but the higher ones absolutely require the usage of defence abilities to block/reflect incoming damage that would otherwise kill you.
The "enrage mechanic" is a thing used by three bosses, that I'm aware of. Telos, Vorago, and Araxxor.
In a nutshell, it means the more you kill it, the more enraged it gets.
The higher its enrage, the higher its stats are.
So it does more damage to you, and also has higher defence.
This means you hit less on it.
Ah, so kinda like some of the Terraria bosses but in a 3d mmo
Telos's version of Enrage, is a bit different - you can choose how angry you want him to be, before the fight.
So you can force him to be at 0% enrage forever.
Making him viable in Legacy.
Oh, really? That's..odd
Yup. I think the reasoning behind that, is he's a forced solo-only boss.
You can't bring a team to him.
When Telos is fought for the first time, he will have 0% enrage and 400,000 life points (4 phases of 100,000 life points each). Unlike the fight with Araxxor and Araxxi, Telos's rage does not necessarily increase after each kill. Upon defeating Telos and getting potential rewards, the player has the option to either claim their reward immediately (which resets the killstreak and enrage) or continue the challenge. If the player continues without claiming their rewards, Telos's enrage will increase anywhere from 5% to 20% after each kill (an average of 12.5%).
When starting a new killstreak, players can customise Telos's enrage, anywhere from 0 to their current highest enrage. There are also pre-set enrage fights at 0%, 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, 250%, and 300%. A final option is available for players to fight Telos at their current highest enrage + 5%.
Every 1% of enrage will affect the fight by a slight amount. While not much of an issue on low enrages, the changes will become more noticeable on higher enrage.
As the enrage increases, these new/modified mechanics get added: https://i.imgur.com/g6wQ2QJ.png
^ These are what make certain abilities required.
Oh right, So the enrage for him is more of a risk/reward thing
Yup!
There was recently a thing where Jagex released the drop-rates and explained the loot mechanics of all requested bosses. Telos was on the list, and we learned that a high killstreak increases your chance at better loot, far, far greater than high enrage.
So there's that to note, too.
Ooo
If there's one thing in the world that I adore, it's copious amounts of sweet, sweet loot
One question that we see a lot is this: "Which is better for me to get a unique drop, a higher enrage or a better streak?"
Streak is a much greater modifier than enrage is in the Telos formula meaning that if you wanted to get unique drops then the best thing to do is to get a higher streak. A greater streak will give you a better chance than a high enrage, low streak kill.
That's actually really good to know
@primal inlet The Endless series of games are absolutely fantastic.
The developers seem to be really cool too, trying to involve the community in each game's development & updates. All the while retaining their original aims for the most part.
glad I skipped on the Endless Space Collection for $5 during the winter sale
however, this is why I now have trust issues when buying any game on Steam
if you buy a game and play it before it goes on sale anywhere else, it wasn't a waste
This is what it looks like, when a player base retaliates on social media:
657 comments, and mass downvoted.
see that all the time on the destiny subreddit 😛
ouch
who never bothered to tell me that watch_dogs multiplayer is actually fun
cause it is
Which?
A fellow I know told me that WD1's multi was fun, but I never bothered with it because fuck Aiden Pearce
Lol
I loved the ‘hide while being hacked’ mode
Or ‘find the hacker’
Or whatever it was
Did anyone ever play the mobile app where you hack players in-game from your iPhone or Android phone?
They would have to go through a route while being chased by a helicopter and you could hack things along the way to try to disrupt them or make them crash
That sounds fun
I convince my dad to play watch dogs with me so I can test out the companion app. The video includes a phone cam so you can see all the moves I make in real ...
Mmhm
*Mhmm
Wildlands has a similar app where you can hire and send out agents for missions
the CTOS app is broken now I think
on ios
But I spent a good two hours playing Online Decryption with randos, which is basically King of the Hill except progress is shared between teams and you carry the hill with you
it's weird
But with the open world spaces it just kinda works
yeah, it won't even download on iOS 11 because it's not been updated for 64-bit
shame
I take it you were thinking of Watch Dogs 1 then, maybe Dog?
:/
That sucks
At least the Wildlands app still seems to work
Won’t know for sure until I get home and sync the game
Oh, yeah I'm definitely talking about WD1
Waiting until WD2 gets a major sale before getting it
Aside from tossing the best parts of WD1 (those weird ass AR games), WD2 is apparently much better
lol
Isn’t there a list on reddit of games where you can pet the dog?
Wouldn't shock me
Wd2 is so much better
so the minecraft server is down
Hey Armok, unfortunately the Minecraft server host (KazWolfe) isn't a member of this server at the minute. You might be able to reach out to him directly though 😃
well great work ybm!
👏
he gets the aesthetics of that style really well. How the M goes into the A like an upside down V lol
Nice 😮
Another new 1.13 snapshot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLTGFLxXKEA
You've all been asking for it - here come the dolphins! And what's that strange new conduit block? Check this out - here's snapshot 18w15a! Official announce...
This time, dolphins.
You can blame modded minecraft for that. They are the majority of the playerbase.
Well, you can still play old versions of Minecraft if you wanted to
^
s e r v e r s
Yes, modded servers exist.
FTB, Tekkit, etc.
They're far more popular than vanilla, or semi-vanilla servers.
That fragment makes zero sense in this context. >.>
Modded servers tend to be version 1.7.10, whereas most vanilla or semi-vanilla servers tend to update to the latest possible version of MineCraft. They're currently at 1.12.2, with some snapshot servers already popping up.
Is that what you're asking?
Hold on, Snapshot is actually out?
Wait, something tells me it's not actually called snapshot and I'm just an idiot
@rigid haven, a minecraft "snapshot" is a beta version of an upcoming version. For example, the current most up-to-date version, is "snapshot 18w15a". This is the one, which is described in the video I linked above. It is a snapshot of the 1.13 version of minecraft.
The final version of 1.13, when it's released, is called "Update Aquatic".
Ah, I see
@rigid haven Here, this lists all currently known, planned, and released features of 1.13: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/1.13
Ooo, that trident doesn't sound half bad
On a different note, someone paid over 5k irl for a unique title ingame: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
The title EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE was given to the winner of the Title Auction during the GameBlast 2018 charity event. This title changes according to the language of the server on which...
Yup, lol.
@rigid haven https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/8bcsrf/spotted_the_winner_of_the_gameblast_2018_charity/
It's only missing an r, in front.
This is the finest use of the letter E in existence
When someone tries to explain RuneScape stuff to me, like I'm a new player:
I, meanwhile, am quite the opposite
Yup, we need more new players. Far too many are old returning players, and people like me who have literally spent their entire life playing it.
Genuinely new players are an extreme rarity.
Yup, you'd be classified as a returning player.
Speaking of which, I haven't seen you login once yet.
Do you have me added?
Oh, yup
I played Osrs earlier today and I'm gonna make myself a bronze helmet when I get on again
Well, I'm happy to answer any questions if you need help with anything. Having me added ingame, would make that easier.
I'm just afk'ing the thieving skill, as per usual.
This equipment set makes thieving so much easier, in Rs3: https://i.imgur.com/1ohyw8q.png
It requires at least lvl 70 thieving, and lvl 28(?) invention to create.
"They may be combined at an inventor's workbench at level 80 Thieving, and level 20 Invention."
Hmm, so can all the armour be created with materials you find around?
Yup!
With the exception of some special things, such as GWD equipment.
The "unique" equipment can't be created from scratch.
That's great. I don't think I've seen it before in an MMO
Honestly, Osrs is missing a fair bit of crafting/creating of equipment. They have a lot of it, but Rs3 went about fixing that and filled out the equipment tables for all three styles.
You can create a lot of ranged and melee armour in Osrs, but magic equipment has a huge gaping hole.
Ouch. Luckily I don't intend to use magic 😅
I'm sure at some point, they'll fix that.
They're actively updating the game and adding new features at the request of the community.
Every Osrs update is polled, before it gets added.
So there's that, too.
I saw that, yeah
I will say that the Osrs developers and whatever, aren't as actively "vocal" in communicating with the playerbase, as Rs3's devs are.
They tend to just sit back, and watch, and only respond if they're needed.
Like, the current drama about pricing going on right now.
Have you seen that?
It's on both subs:
https://reddit.com/r/RuneScape
https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/
Oh, that's news to me
God damn
Mind you, it's just a vocal minority.
A very vocal minority.
The reasonable ones get mass-downvoted and insults hurled at them.
So they - along with Jagex - are being kinda quiet, and letting the nutjobs rant.
I suppose that's the only thing you can do
For example, here's one of the reasonable ones: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/8biqh2/next_promo_genies_gift_because_of_course_the_best/dx7055a/?context=3
(The comment, not the post.)
His flair, is spot on.
"angry reddit noises"
Haha
@uncut bramble What happened to Kaz
He left during the @someone april fools spam.
@turbid gale
Hasn't come back since.
does anyone have his #

Danke
Dank mormons.
40 hours in on warframe and I just learnt that I can increase the mods capacity .-.
Cool
mod capacity increases as the item levels up...?
do you mean upgrading mods, because THAT took me forever to figure out
Ohno it's him
How many people here have seen the new 'roadmap' for Destiny 2?
The dead meme boy
The D2 roadmap is...interesting
It needs more solid info
It's called a tease
agreed, I like the Crucible DLC changes but that's literally all they covered
That's a major change for how Bungie do things, they never give free things out
and I'd agree with you Kev if it was on the DLC, the parts I'm thinking of aren't
I know that the September changes are far away, but surely they could tell us about the Summer things
like how new bounties are going to work, or private matches
I mean maybe the answer's just "exactly like D1" but that should be said, not left as an exercise to the reader
If bounties are D1 bounties, that's a change I'll welcome with open arms
Destiny 1 bounties were special
I just hope that these big changes are going to be what we want, not the roundabout solutions they keep doing
Bounties actually really confuse me because where the heck are they going to be stored
there's no quests tab or anything
If they're an item...ok but disappointing
the fact that D2 apparently has to go through the exact same shit as D1, likely including the Comet that fixes everything, is depressing
Are you going by the base name?
It seems as if D2 was made in Y1 and then put in stasis
Like when they called ttk comet
yeah
that's still their internal name for the big, non-shit DLCs after the first two for each game
CoO wasn't worth it... I hope this rasputin one is
inb4 you have to go through another vanilla strike for the DLC campaign and it's Exodus Crash
have fun with disappeary boi
Siva version
siva hasn't even been mentioned in D2, has it?
I wouldn't mind seeing SIVA, just not SIVA fallen
maybe pure SIVA or SIVA frames/constructs
It was mentioned early on in a screenshot of Exodus Crash, but it was about SIVA instead
I'm thinking that our good friend rasputin is gonna use it or perhaps failsafe
Oh god, I could see failsafe being pertinent to the plot in some convoluted manner...in which case Exodus Crash makes sense
That screenshot looks like it has 4 big guns. Maybe the orange circle is Rasputin targeting the Traveller?
There was that leak about The Fallen Warmind
I can't tell whether they're guns or pylons of some sort
Maybe that was semi-legit
That would legitimately be interesting
The warming probably sees the traveller as a threat
Ok but why
We dont know if it was actually rasputin who destroyed part of the traveller as we've heard
In the grimore
Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin?
well technically
Destiny 1 was really good after ttk
It's a big AI in the Destiny franchise named after him
He is Russian...
I hope D2 gets better
Yes
Maybe because the Darkness caused the Collapse, and the Traveller and Darkness is like Yin-Yang. It would make sense if he tries to destroy the Traveller to stop the Darkness from coming. Destroy the beacon to stop what's seen it
Yes that is what some people think
That rasputin was protecting by destroying the traveller
I just hope Bungie can pull off a decent story
we shall see...it's likely that Warmind was in development way before CoO came out, so...
If the community can come up with a good basis for a storyline, then why can't they?
because they're aiming for 7-year-olds
Lmao
Huh, I got Destiny mixed up with "Nier: Automata". Never played either of them, but I see people bring them up a lot.
How
How?
D2 story is really childish but I still liked it
It should've been more darker though
Yes
The plot is fine, the dialogue/interactions aren't
I mean, that speaker part 😏
although the Speaker parts - yeah
Why couldn't they show the speaker getting killed
That lady with the white hair in Nier: Automata, is how. Idk why, but when y'all said Destiny 2, that's immediately who I thought of.
because T rating
Damn it
Nier is a w e e b game
The fact that Ghaul was meant to be this big bad, but we only ever saw him monologuing and not killing people really annoys me
Nier is a g o o d game
I've never played it
IT'S A W E E B GAME
yeah I wanted to see him crush his adviser's skull
I wanted to see ghaul in a raid
Cory in the House is best weeb game.
That's a weeb game
Not in a stupid story mission
Leviathan's an interesting content structure though
The raid boss is stronger and much more annoying than ghaul
I hate the leviathan
Ghaul is a weak ass pussy
I want a different raid environment
It's a story entirely self-contained within raids, meaning people who have no friends don't need to worry about it
That's me then
Also yeah Ghaul's a coward I thought the campaign established that
I hate having to go in the leviathan to do all the raids
I want another VOG
Yes
VOG was so much fun
I want VOG
Here we go, this person:
the uh
Weknow
2B?
Idk lol.
Weeb
2B!==D2
🅱2 (i'm so sorry)
Like I said:
Never played either of them, but I see people bring them up a lot.
NieR Automata is not a weeb game :p
Itis
No u
banned
X3
YES
Not this "underbelly" crap
Like VOG
It'd be nice if consoles fell off the face of the earth, and game developers focused solely on pc.
my secret hope is that destiny 1 comes to pc in some way
I want that
me too
D2 being on pc was literally the only reason I picked it up
DROP D2 AND PORT D1 TO PC
well
Don't drop D2
How hard d'you think it'd be to port D1 content into D2's modified engine?
it has potential
This pretty much sums it up: https://i.imgur.com/nT4LOdw.png
like what
uh
but there are people like that I know
It's not satire.
Disses consoles but praises old consoles
cough
I mean I would argue that modern console manufacturers are being a bit stupid with their exclusives and all, considering that the Xbone and PS4 are literally just Windows and Linux PCs, respectively
^
Mhmm.
I like the ease use of consoles
I'm just an armchair dev at this point so
I liked consoles when they were consoles, not computers - which is my point.
'New games and new consoles REEEEEEEEE-" is how im taking some things
This kind of nitpicking is ridiculous though
Not a very strong piece of writing to come foward with
New games can be good, but plenty aren't because of corporate meddling and lowest common denominator and all that
re: D2
It's called an opinion, you don't have to agree with it or like it.
Consoles=Ease of Use
PC's=great for everything
Yup, I just screenshotted it from a collection of random rubbish I've collected in my pastebin.
Okay then.
huh
Tbh buying the new Xbox is a waste of money... buy a pc, it'll last longer than 2 years before having to be replaced by the next console
Just saying that this isn't really a strong piece of writing that's all
Yup, I know lol.
I was making it clear that it was an opinion
A rather biased one, mind you.
I mean considering that graphics aren't everything anymore I wouldn't be surprised if current GPUs and CPUs will have less trouble catching up to newer ones
As long as devs don't get even more lazy with optimization <.<
Lmao
^
.>
Good optimisation can go a loooong way.
my fucking 960 can't run it, but it can run other games fine
I mean, I love retro games too (mind you that my first game was Starflight) but I value how games PRESENT the story or experience, whether it be with additional features or etc. Graphical eye candy is a bonus
Yeah, it's a bias I have - I believe that PCs should have that eye-candy stuff, whereas consoles should stick with the arcade stuff.
define "eye candy" - in my opinion, a really nice style can make something look amazing without serious rendering effects or anything
Like, uhhh....
one sec
Games with amazing art style is what I think of
mmm, Far Cry 5 does look nice
I personally don't mind the graphical style as long as it's not intrusive (low quality textures, unintentionally poor lighting and etc)
art style>realism
^
Ye
games such as borderlands
^^
Someone mentioned that the other day; borderlands is one of my most disliked graphical styles.
warframe,starbound... etc
Warframe's heavily stylized, dunno if you'd call it "realistic
The um.. cell shading thing.
rocket league
I'm like "eh, I've seen this before" when I see realistic artstyles, it's like real life... It dosent feel unique
I'd call that realistic, yeah.
Iwouldnt
that is not realistic at all, I'm just saying
It's a realistic art style in an unrealistic universe?
I just don't care for realism.. Stylized games can be even more effective than your average run-of-the-mill gritty FPS
High resolution textures, high res shadows, great lighting, etc. That's what I mean by realistic.
Factorio though
The enemies have a weird art style
The reason that BoTW has cell shading doesn't mean it should be off the table for good games
Botw is nice
BOTW's cel shading is done better than Borderlands' IMO
cell shading, if done well, can look really good
Yes dogggg
Hmmm
Portal is nice I guess
Mhmm.
Tf2 has some decent scenery/maps/whatever. I can agree with that.
I don't like the characters.
Portal is a realistic art style
portal is cartoonish fam
Ohno
googles "superhot"
yeah yeah meme
Huh, it's an fps. No wonder I didn't know about it.
not that kind of fps
I will say it plays more like a puzzle game than an FPS
don't just look at the genre and assume its bad
Hit a person with a sword, grab the gun in mid-air, shoot him with the gun and watch his face shatter
except you plan all that out, because you have all the time in the world to do so
throw a gun at him and then pick up the katana to cut him up
Yeah, I kinda avoid anything remotely connected to PvP. That's what I look at genres for, and why I nope out with fps games.
Unique mechanics
It's the most innovative shooter I've played in years
yes
don't
I agree
👍
PvP? Superior isnt close to pvp
I can tell you're on a phone
"Yeq"
👍
SUPER hot
Don't Starve is a horribly twisted game
Leaves your stomach with butterflies when you reach the ending
What reminds you of dont starve?
🤔
unturned is meh
Unturned's graphics remind me of Superhot.
isn't that good and isn't that bad
Bad
the low poly style?
mhmm.
The um.. empty white walls/room thing
Hmm
Cool
completely monochrome puzzle game
o_o
Reminded me of the turing test for a second
Haha
Uhhhhhh
also it was short
Oh
Yes
Yea that's why I recommend a sale
Mhmm.
I liked the ending
I still haven't finished it
Thought-provoking
the secret twist is cool though
the one that you know if you know and don't if you don't
Never played the witness
What
Cities: Skylines is the only Steam game I've played for more than a few hundred hours. I was so addicted to it, I started seeing city grids in my sleep...
I think my most played game is CS:GO
Braid was a good game
I got over a hundred hours on portal 2
We doing this thing?
Warframe 173, Portal 2 148, NMS 135, Terraria 127, GMod 113
lmao fris
😮
RuneScape is definitely my most played game; just over 32k hours.
I know literally every voice line by hard and can tell you exactly when they play... Which I'm not entirely proud of
How do you have over 100 in portal
I think Minecraft's probably my most played game of all time but there's no way of tracking that
I also got 100% achievements on it
also user maps
Even before workshop there were user maps
And the coop maps with a friend
Destiny 1 is one of tmf most played games
"tmf"
I also got 100% achievements on every half life game
oof
Ew
And too many hours on em aswell
including that one "Single Bullet" cheev?
Mhm
oof
What
1487 days, 4 hours: https://i.imgur.com/2I2uRzH.png
That seems like maybe too much time
Yes
👺
Includes AFK?
I started in 2004, and play ~7+ hours a day.
WHY and how
On half life 2 episode 1 there is an achievement for firing exactly 1 bullet during the whole game @brisk merlin
Ah found it
and that bullet's required for a lock IIRC
How is that even possible
Crowbar
Portal Stories Mel
You can use the gravity gun
But surely using the crowbar for the whole game is hard
1450 hours in Warframe
Like really hard
:3
RuneScape has existed since 1998. I started in 2004, and I play 7+ hours a day on average. My playtime is nothing, compared to most hardcore players. I'm considered a "casual" 'Scaper.
:)
What was harder imo was the gnome in episode 2
Wtf
and here i am just melting away at these numbers
Melting? 😮
*blubber
What
Also, there was an achievement for killing literally every larve in episode 2 which was insane @primal inlet
Here, if you want a full explanation as to why/how I've played 1487 days in RuneScape, this is the best explanation I've given: https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/7wcfml/just_curious_who_here_has_logged_1_year_of_game/dtzj4km/?context=3
I assume you are aware of the infamous gnome achievement?
Yes?
You have to carry a gnome statue from literally the start of the game till the end and put it in the rocket
yee
Known as the hardest achievement in video games..
Even tho I disagree
I've had more difficulty with others
(still it was hard!)
Nome
seems like the kind of achievement Keemstar would make
That actually exists.
Gnome children are young gnomes found in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Like adult gnomes, they can be killed or pickpocketed. All of them use melee unlike their adult counterparts. Usually they are...
Little Rocketman
has derailed and monopolised the conversation again
Okay, back to RuneScape and watching this Daredevil tv show.
Sorry for being annoying.
I also got the CS:GO achievement for winning an arms race match without dying
I don't even have a csgo rank, I literally only played arms race with a friend, nothing else
I also only played with knife 90% of the time (and won)
There’s a level mod called Suicide Blitz 2 for Left4dead2 that references the gnome
You have to carry this gnome and I forget how but you end up unlocking a secret Portal level
(Corrected)
So its the same.. Isnt it?
Wh
L4D2 is 4 player coop so way easier to carry something trough the level
Still, that's funny
wtf is that
Ehhhh
In other news
Lizard Run now got Cave Mode 😅
Rock sprites are made by Kev
👍
Today I learned this comes from Runescape
Lmao
Yup.
Gnome children are young gnomes found in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Like adult gnomes, they can be killed or pickpocketed. All of them use melee unlike their adult counterparts. Usually they are...
Yeah, that's what I saw. Now I'm super glad I tuned into discord today
How didnt you know it was from runescape? Lmao
They've never played Rs before.
Haven't you seen the "meme" before?
I have seen it, but I didn't know 🤷
Contrary to popular belief, not everyone likes memes, or tries to dig up where one comes from. >.>
Some of us just see them, laugh, and move on.
Yup
I never try to find out where they come from... except this Wal-Mart kid... I want to know his story
That "four horsemen of the apocalypse" thing interested me enough to dig up a few of them.
What? The iron board thing I sent?
Oh no
Good God
I think the Wal-Mart kid just wanted to sing, so he did
You really have to admire🥑 his confidence
Good kid
it's a good avocado
Here, have something stupid I combined, out of boredom:
(Took the .svg files of the emotes off discord, and then converted them into .png, and combined them into one image.)
lol
It's 04:48 in the morning, I'm braindead, and obviously not thinking clearly.
So don't mind me.
On that note, I'm off to bed to pretend like I can actually sleep. G'night.
Alright, Good Night!
👋
@hidden falcon yes that was a real Hunter ID for Monster Hunter World
wow
Yeeeeeeet Steins;Gate 0 comes out today
That game was awful lol
nice colour nerd
i kept thinking the same @primal inlet
Lol
Though I will be honest
If not for my curiosity I would’ve never discovered Earth Defense Force
Owlboy is better
I rented Bullet Witch and EDF from a Blockbuster in like... 2007?
Both games were so bad they were good
EDF has at least spawned several sequels since its debut on the ps2
And I love EDF 4.1 Shadow of New Despair
Hmm
I've never heard of either of them
Though that does remind me of the really bad indie games on Xbox 360
The ones that were 69p and usually used the avatar
check my big bot head
Hello big bot head
whatsthat
big
Right, Cuphead done, Now to play more Runescape
k
Deed
I wish my stellaris worked
