and run the script by putting it in the ModScript folder and double-click BuildMod.bat, it will redo your script in about 2 minutes with new values if you want, just run it each time NMS updates any of the files you touch and voila updated

by the way, no need to update MBINCompiler.exe manually, AMUMSS will do it automatically the first time and each time you say Yes to the question after...

It should find your NMS PCBANKS folder by itself
By that I mean forgetting a save and ending up with an unedited MBIN
if you misspell a name/path, you will get an error message, just always look at the REPORT.txt file if the cmd window output scrolls too fast or disappear
just try it, misspell one and see

Would love to have some people test this to verify whether or not it actually prevents the player from being a predator target? Like someone who lives on a planet that has many known predators to make a sure test?

Is there a mod that removes the 2047 unit cap on large refiners?
I know there is a mod to stop random pirate encounters. But is there one the lowers or eliminates freighter battles too? I feel like I'm encountering them every other warp.
@peak dawn 2047 is exactly 2048 when you count 0. Its possible that 2047 is the actual maximum that the refiner is able to calculate
a ridiculous code thing some programmer did thinking he was being smart optimizing stuff that doesnt need it for no particular reason
or maybe he was out of his mind on caffeine during one of these insane dev binges they obviously do during the big updates who knows

@signal flare it doesnt let you directly change your ship colours but there are lots of great ship seeds there! you can use the save editor to apply the seeds. you might find one that looks like your ship but nicer colours

Im also only doing permadeath because it seems silly to me to have almost 1700 hours in a game and not get the last two achievements
But I was pleasantly surprised, with the particular mod set I'm running (strictly nothing to make the challenge easier though) its been pretty wild and entertaining
When i first started this game i played in creative mode and i got bored really fast because its no fun when everything is given to you for free and no worrying about dying
Heck you didn't even need to collect resources in creative mode except when you did the base missions and the couple missions for main story

that looks like the same gun, same hallway, just different gun types (both primary and secondary are different).. wonder if that has something to do with the camera view..
like mining beam and forcefield have a closer orientation than bolt caster and/or plasma launcher..
but I suppose it could also have to do with being backed up against something in one shot, and not being backed against it in the other..

So when people put version numbers do they just randomy decide to add more then one . To be cool or is there a difference between 2.09 and 2.09.5 I always wondered why people dont just do 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and so on
it is so that you get that idea of the version upgrade being small, since the actual upgrade is small
if Jason put out a 2.1 update I'd immediately assume some big changes and fixes
just like how even NMS was doing 2.09.1 which was a big change but they wanted to do a few more before calling it 2.11 and not 2.1 as it has other implications and 2.10 is just confusing (looking at you, minecraft 1.10)

The value is the same as it is for cobalt
so replacing the values for nitrogen with the ones for cobalt will have no effect

I figured I could copy the color values from cobalt since it has a blue background and then use them to make nitrogen's background blue

Hi guys. I know it might me a long shot..but is there a mod to identify lush planets or to make them easier to be found?
"identify"? Now more plentiful ...I think exosolar made one? Look on Nexus
identify in the way it shows if the system has one or more before jumping. That plentiful thing, i presume will be for single player only
well, you can use it in multiplayer, but yeah you would be on a different planet type than an unmodded player. I don't think there is an "identify" type mod. At least I have never heard of one.

@hallow salmon finish the atlas questline and choose eissentam as your galaxy, you will find lush planets everywhere

Just keep in mind that if you find a planet that was rolled differently normally, other players will see the planet it would have been if you were not using the mod
Also the planets will revertto what they would have been without the mod if you remove the mod
and back again if you reinstall the mod π
Is there a way to remove terrain edits from the save file? I let someone do some base modifications, and they dug a huge hole right in the middle of the base under a building they put up, which I didn't realize until I removed the building bc I didn't like it after all. I tried to cover the hole with landing pads but bc they don't sit flush any more it doesnt cover all of the hole. Is it possible someone with save file editing expertise can just remove the hole?
Don't think so.. Just add some land with terrain manipulator

Judging from their update note announcement we have a long update road ahead for NMS maybe even years to come. Every modder has the duty to make a amumss script (or other methods) to make it long lasting. I've seen dozens of modders abandon their mods during all the years and no amumss scripts. All their work and lifetime for nothing in the end....

Yes but the ship tech inventory will be hardcoded then

But it is a bit hacky then. You need to exchange one of the existing ships with one from a list in the quick action menu. The ships you already own can also be added to the menu in order to switch back.
The script is public for amumss you only need to switch some toggles and add your seeds to the list.

Just noticed that nmseeds is typically used for acquiring ships/multitools via save editing. I'd like to try it out sometime, but I'm wondering if there are spawn rules that I need to obey if I wanted to stay "legit" with the stats.

@half shadow with the seed generator mod by Mjjstral everything comes as class c with max slot and max tech slots even exotics for ships and all multitools are shown as class c but have max slots and tech tho i think the specs for damage shield and stuff is c class rating

which means remembering to write ".EXML" manually onto the end of the name with the saver set to .exml, or it will save lower case which wont work

Actually, sort of a QOL improvement at End Game levels depending on difficulty maybe. I'd like to increase the cost of certain items to a point where the grind for units is actually necessary beyond the first 100 hours of gameplay.
I've been thinking of making some adjustments to my save files when I jump to the next galaxy. Options to delete all Frigates, Freighter, credits, nanites, glyphs.. Possibly blueprints. Basically start over, but not in Euclid. You can do most/all of this in the save game editor currently but i'm not sure about mission-specific blueprints.. ie. the ones you get from the storyline.
OR.. maybe just create a new gamefile but in another galaxy. maybe that way the storyline would have to be played again (if that's even possible)

I haven't seen very much documentation on survival other than, less resources, inventory space, and you lose your main inventory when you die.

as in, they use the same values except for no respawn
when you can sink a few hundred hours into a save, losing it all is cancerous
elite dangerous is one those games where death has meaning if you dont have the funds to pay for insurance too

@sharp pelican yea the 6 ship slots are hard coded into the save files.. even a new game has 6 ships assigned, but only the starter ship has an active seed.. as you acquire additional ships, those ship seeds get stored in the remaining ship slots..

- Prevents indoor rain any better than stock
- Successfully removed collision from circular roof light prop and the flag props
One thing I've seen people saying is that in low base detail settings, the roof of the circular prefabs has no collision or rain-blocking. That seems like the kind of thing a mod could fix.

For clarification: if you hold Ctrl + 0-9 while in the quick menu, it saves that action to a slot. AFAIK, the only ways to save are still spaceship, save point, save beacon or beacon.

Thats actually based on a random seed generator. 15000 seeds I produced over night ingame.

i had a seed generator mod i was using but your mod overwrote it lmao
the mod i was using would produce max slot ships but only c class
