@bronze mantle a mod i had to rename because the name was only "metadata", a bad move on the mod author, but anyways, it's a mod that reduces the chances of getting planets with extreme storms
Everytime i found a good planet
It had storms or some shit like that
It was really a nuisance
I think it's not the best to solve that, i hope it's temporary, because the warning about storms keep popping up but it causes no damage, and that breaks a little the immersion
I read now that they reduced the chances of storms by themselves in this new patch, good to know

Basically, what I'm sayin is, the merger will do simple merging just fine, but because of how NMS modding works, larger and more complicated lists will still need you to be smart or knowledgeable to work
And if you are, you can probably do it with a text editor anyway
what i meant was instead of modders packing up entire files, they just have a file with only the xml they changed to be merged into the original full xml. maybe that's what this merge tool does, i'll check it out.
I personally do put a zip of modded vanilla exmls in my mod, and I do think other people should, too, but even with comments it still might not be as intuitive as you may think
If you merge, say, lsystems of some modder's city mod with someone else's alien pylon mod, because they can relate directly to other lsystem files, it can mess up quite a bit if you don't know how they actually would work
And comments will only get you so far
again, not talking about commenting it, just literally only having files with the values you changed. for example, modding battletech, you could modify json files by just having a small file with only your changes in it.
but you didn't need to have the entire json and overwrite everything else
I mean if you want the exml you can decompile em yourself with the compiler

right, so if i want to change a single value in an entire exml
i have a file that JUST has the path to that value and the change, not the entire exml
then the modified tiny exml gets merged into the full exml

so you could e.g. edit value at block A in mod 1 and value in block B in mod 2 without override of whole file
that way mod changing flood lights would not be blocked by mod fixing some other structure

Is there a way to just eliminate the annoyingly obvious messages but leave others? For example, it's useful to know how many pirate ships are left or if I need to warp to another system to continue a mission. Tutorial type messages though need to die. I imagine the game files have a list of messages to pull from. Might have to grab the latest MBIN compiler and take a looksie for myself. one comment. My feelings too.

I really do love the camera mode and it's almost there
well we dont have on call controls we can give you but there are mods that can controls some aspects of the color
for example the different filters actually are the result of LUT base color changes
so it actually changes the color to give the image a more HDR effect
the best thing I can recommend for you though is a mod I helped make

Fade effect is the pixellated effect that somehow blends distant terrain into close terrain when you go toward it.
thats what it removes
so instead of fading it just glitches out cause the effect is missing

I just figured it took the fade-in effect of the terrain and made it go "POOF" out of nowhere instead and somehow magically boosted fps to playable levels
It's a minor cosmetic issue, small price to pay for FPS though

Hey everyone, new to modding NMS here and I just installed my first couple today and noticed for some reason now my base computer isn't showing up, and a few of my storage containers are missing. Is stuff like that normal with adding mods?
Added Kremit's Beacons and the Decearing Egg mod, the mods themselves appear to be working but when I came back to my base some things were missing @rugged cloud
Also played around with No Mans Connect
well nomans connect should only alter you location
you bases should remain untouched

close to desktop and remove Decearing egg

I can think of only 2 possible things
either NMS connect somehow gave someone access to mod you base and they deleted something when they should have respected your stuff
or decearing egg is causing a lot more problems than it would seem
the best solution I have is to use goat fungus save editor

So when it comes to adding back that storage container, I can see under the Bases & Storage tab that the chests that are missing are actually showing up, they're just not showing up in game
the container will have it contents, to feel non cheaty just add enough material to rebuild that single missing container
and it will still have the contents

oh, also fixed both planter types so it no longer requires fuel and no longer has that annoying interaction option.. so you can quickly go down the line and harvest plants old school style..
restored the ability to rotate plants on both planter types.. and added the blue glow effects on the megaplanter (not the exact glow that matches the part, HG for some reason removed that glow in the NEXT update, so I had to use the glow from the single planters)
I love all we have to do is outright delete the block related to the fuel in the entity to make that work
Means I didn't need to bother adding the ock in the first place when making custom planters lmao

For some reason having trouble with the teleport feature in No Mans Connect. I can see it knows what the current save file is, and tried several times and it's not working. I installed it, paused the game, selected an adress i want to teleport to, went to those three dots on the side. It sees the save file, i click on "teleport to.." and select the location,yet nothing happens, no "reload current save" option appears. Am I doing something wrong? I am running the latest version (1.3.3) and have the game installed in F: directory, as that is my SSD. I have tried to custom install NMC in the F: directory where I have the game, but there was no such option to select the install location like in most apps.
Does anyone know a fix to this?

Oh MAH GAWD this mod is SO FUN...Ridiculously fun. I mean, if you like jetting around with that punch glitch boost, this basically removes the glitch and turns the jetpack into always punch forward speed...Oh this is fun. This should be a technology in the game instead of a mod to controls.
The run speed thing I never tried. Just the jetpack alone.

speaking of the punch glitch.. try sprinting and using the melee charge.. don't jump, just keep sprinting.. I did this at a trade station last night on PC and my character started sliding and gliding around until he stopped sprinting.. xD
Is there a mod that completley disables grass shadows? Wondering cause all of my fps issues seem to come from that.

HBAO does tkae up quite a bit of fps, but it looks so good
you could also try No Fade
gets rid of that blurryness/pixelation when things load in, but also makes pop in more obvious

I've tried nofade it doesn't seem to help, ill check if hbao does anything

Only like trees but i doubt they affect so much, this fps issue only really occurs when grass is around. Other planets have a 50-60 fps so 
well all the blade of grass are animated
this is why grass used to have a shorter draw range
but HG just said screw it and optimized for beefier console or systems
they need a draw distance scale for pc
I'll say i'm rather impressed with their draw distance though.

So @rugged cloud gave me a solution to fix missing storage containers on my base which was awesome, but one of the other things I'm missing is my base computer. You can see the icon in my HUD but you can't see it. When I try to place a new one it says there's already one close by... Any ideas? I'm really trying to get the landing pad blueprint and it doesn't look like I'm gonna get it at this rate...

I doubt it.. they added the new mod support to stop people needing to mess with the game's files... If people would still need to in order to get achievements, that would kind of defeat the point.

@young solstice I laugh when people bicker and try to claim 'trademark' over HelloGames' copyrighted content and in-game assets. (Oh, I did this first, this was my idea first, - you can't do that too). Says who? You? You can't say that. 😂 There's like a dozen different kinds of flight mods, space mods, and other kinds of things. Each author had a different preference and their own take. Sometimes similar, but different. That's the beauty of being able to creatively make modded content - You get to mold the game into your own liking, and choose which (kind of mod) best fits your preference At the end of the day, 'silly titles' are irrelevant because what people care about is the experience. Users simply browse sites and look for which mods seem the most interesting to them.
If it's 3rd party asset related that's a different story. Ownership could potentially be rightfully claimed. However, when it comes to modding No Man's Sky and working with in-game assets, users who do so; are literally building off of the copyrighted contents of HelloGames - while also building off of their entire, original idea - no matter how original any ideas they may form in the development of a mod might be - if they are working with in-game assets purely.
On the inverse, there is a general respect/courtesy that is the right thing to do across modders. Like, if someone helps you with something, or if someone works on something and contributes, crediting them is simply the right thing to do and it should be done. It's not cool for authors to intentionally try to come off as ambiguous.
And about that author, who threatened to take down his mod if a user revealed the file that he is changing... is kind of silly. It would take like 4-5 seconds to do that, if someone really wanted to, like what mm said. lol
