Okay, so the old v10 already had ringed planets by Lo2k, his water overhaul, and Space Dream integrated alongside a lot of off the record shader mods that I did.
However, with the about to be released "Immersion Update"of RaYRoD's Overhaul... those shaders will no longer be compatible or needed.
The new water that is being worked on by TemplarGFX and also I to an extent, is an overhaul of Lo2k's water overhaul (and is almost identical to the pre-release trailers) that was the ambition from the start. Ringed planets are still integrated by default. There are also numerous newer off the record shader overhauls tailor made by Templar, and some by me for the next version that aren't released yet elsewhere. Any "black or dark space mods" will not be compatible, or even needed. Some systems can be vanilla, darker than vanilla, replications of E3, IGN early 2016 footage, some other one's that I handcrafted, and also several variants of blackish type space with various details with the overhaul mod. This was not done with shaders.
So we also have all kinds of space dynamically. Never know what you might warp into.
I also plan to keep expanding on the Space Atmospherics, and planetary Atmospherics... by looking back to pre-release footages, pre-release images, concept arts, fan arts, random google images, and general images taken outside of myself to recreate in-game.
And making more biomes after it's released, and new features + improvements... as I never want to stop doing that.

My intention is to emulate an unmodded experience with mods :)
Changes very subtle and at times drastic, but refined in such a way... so that when it's polished to the standard that I plan for the things that I change to the game to eventually reach; it feels more like an addition, or an official part to the game rather than a mod.

Although I'm an avid fan of vanilla gameplay, I also enjoy playing this custom build that I've been working on for awhile.

You'll be able to tell with the overhaul, immersion update. Just remember that it won't be compatible or needed if you decide to check it out:)
To prevent losing the newer improvements* It'll be important to not use the one's that you currently have installed.

All optional mods and files used from the old v10 overhaul are also outdated and no longer compatible.
So, the core mod will not have modified lowflight by default. However, I've added an optional file with this description:
``This is my take on low flight. The core mod itself has improved ship functionality. Smoother enter/exit cockpit transitions, subtle pulse speed adjustments, Oria V style (E3, PS4 gameplay trailer) more subtle takeoff height (that doesn't launch you 20 feet in the air), a slightly increased landing angle adjustment, landing at any height, plus a lot more.
However, this optional addon removes the auto leveling that occurs when you get close to a planets surface. This is also a different take, than former LowFlight mods. With this file, if you are boosting... you can strictly ride the waves. However, in casual non-boost flight... you can ease your way underwater.``

No Man's Sky at launch was 6GB, but most of that was audio

And the updates to the game amount up to around 8GB packed
However, most of the downloaded patches included redundant (non-changed files) that made the download larger, but not the full size of the game when packed. Although, HelloGames has added a lot of new content, improvements, and features, since release... resulting in around 8GB on 1.38 AR

it took me a while to get where i am at
The mod is compatible with vanilla saves, just not vanilla bases.
It's recommended to either save in a freighter first, or start a new save
The mod is also made for all game modes
Not just creative, as some people have thought
i am on normal mode
Normal mode, Survival, and Permadeath are now balanced out
it the same save that i have since the launch of no man sky
And at times more challenging, but a tad less redundant

No more infinite jetpack, infinite stamina, infinite underwater air mask, in normal, survival or permadeath.
However, I've created a few custom tech upgrades.... (the theta) highest upgrade allows you to have it optionally.

Creative mode starts you off with those technologies (except the infinite air mask), because you can't get hurt.... and that mode is incentivized on exploration anyway. So, it seems reasonable to not be forced to go through the menus and install everything manually.
It also comes with all hyperdrive upgrades in creative.
That's more-so a subjective thing. To some people, being able to use your jetpack feels like a natural part of the game. The same thing with the stamina.
However, it's an optional upgrade, to fit different people's preferences
it good to have that choice
Personally for me, I like having the limitation in normal, survival, and permadeath. Though sometimes I play w/o that. Mostly because, being able to get hurt by creatures and slightly different AI functionalities are not present in creative mode.
So, it's like... still the challenge, but in some areas, it can feel more fun at times

i don't get it why the animals have to run away from you in the game
one of the things i;'m hoping for in the next update is a creature overhaul as it's probably the only thing they haven't touched since launch
Some animals do, some animals don't, some attack others and you
some only attack you
all the animals i come across in game always run away when i want to take a closer look at them
you can feed them so it doesn't run away

The NoFade booster did fix some unruly parts in Vanilla- just saying

@dreamy tulip I remember. You named it "minecraft style pop-in", as I can recall- featured in some of your early videos as well. The reason I want the same functionality is because long grass when moving/panning quickly creates a 'decaying' effect- not really likeable when you take shots.
@echo oxide I can make them optionally, if you'd like... but could you give the new grass a try when it's released? I'm pretty sure that the updated grass materials are in the mod.
It might or might not still be, but they should be polished.

Yes, quite often. Not during gameplay but when getting close to the ground in Photo Mode.
Some of the grass blades that were being used, had some specific material flags that I noticed. After updating those... that effect went away from what I saw. But, it's possible that it may still be a thing.

Working on this is more-so something that I enjoy as a hobby, rather than a burden. Even though it's a lot of work. It just feels natural
I do like that the V10 mod seems to have great view distance and a ton of objects on screen without it impacting performance that much. I remember ealier mods having issues with flickering when a lot of objects were on screen.

The next version will push things further. Generation feels almost seamless, as if it has been there the entire time. Very rarely due things fadein

i am someone who when i want to do something i don't want to do anything else.
right now i want to play the immersion update so i'm just sitting here trying to find something else to do.

also not sure why i'm telling this here i guess i need to get it of my chest
and it's caused by me wanting to play a mod...
for example anyone here remember cubeworld? the game is in alpha and has had no update in 5 years.
so when i wanted to play the update everything else seemed boring it took me about 1 month to get over that.
sidenote : this is why i asked rayrod if it will release before monday.
because otherways i don't think i whould be able to enjoy the 3 day school trip.
sidenote 2 : if anyone know how to get over this i whould love to know.

It's why I've almost everything up on both (NMSMods/Nexus), or with my last few mods, only on Nexus
Haven't Dled any mods from nmsmods. Just started modding my game a bit though so not sure what is better(although I do use Nexus for Skyrim and FO4)

It's mainly just two variations with that, if memory serves, so the Monoliths we have now are much more varied
This depends on if they decided the Monoliths should be stylistically similar so as to relate to a forgotten alien species, instead of being artifacts of the aliens we know.
There are hints of the forgotten alien species idea in some terminals, with the aliens we know now imbuing the Monoliths with their cultural knowledge in some way

And have the ruins then relate more strongly to the Korvax/Gek/Vy'keen in their architecture

Not so far as I'm aware. The game systems aren't isolated in that way. You could potentially increase the rarity of certain appearances of NPCs, and I think ships flying about too (maybe even remove those altogether, albeit I'm not sure), but this would be universe-wide.

I've hand assembled many pre-release creatures shown in old trailers, old footages, and unseen creatures from old footages. I've also assembled various kinds of creatures from in-game assets (that look different).

I'm still going to release it. I originally intended to yesterday, but a playtester reported a game breaking issue and while I was fixing it... I got sidetracked by a random idea to try that station thing, which took me 7 hours.

I'm aware that a lot of people are excited. However, I refuse to speed rush (the last polishings) of an update that has been almost a year in the making. It's crucial to me, to iron out as much as I can prior to releasing the first public test build that will still potentially be a bit unstable.
However, I am going to continue working on it post release.
Now, it's pretty much a solid and fluid experience. However, I can't assure you that "somewhere" in the universe, that there might not be an issue.
Everything is a work in progress. A constant progression as always. Although, it's drastically different than the old version 10.
As I improve things, I often get new ideas and turn them into new features and content to implement into the game.
With that said, no the release is not delayed. I'm just prioritizing this right now, in this moment. ๐

@dreamy tulip Oh believe me I am glad youโre putting in the effort to make it as good as you possibly can! Iโd much rather see a great mod that took a long time to make than a badly made mod that was thrown together (not that I think you would ever do that ๐ ).

so I'm looking for a launch thruster efficiency mod and before atlas rises came out i'm 99% sure i had one that made the actual amount of plutonium to charge the launch thruster less, but all i can find now are mods that dictate how much plutonium it uses on take-off, does anyone know what mod this was?

And also always on the relevant biome classes
Frozen biomes will have creatures that feel like that they belong there

There's a lot of creatures, I can't name the breeds offhand

The overhaul mod Immersion Update has the appearance of multi-biomes. Not in the way that you might expect though... like, not one region being a frozen planet, another being a lush planet.
But you might walk across a flat grassy field, and then come across a totally unique underwaterish land biome on land, or an underwater biome, or come across a forest on a mountain or a floating island, or a grassy cave, or an underwater forest
or one region could be hills, or a flat plain of grass, leading to a dense forest

I wrote this on May 30'th
One of my intentions, is to fill in the gap in my mind and other people's minds... "that the unexpected" and the "expected, to not be expected, due to it simply not existing in the vanilla game" type of aesthetic planets are surely out there "somewhere" in the universe. Nothing will be over saturated.
I'm looking to release a public test version soon, but even then, I will still be working on it, and also post NEXT.
Being such a large project, that I'm mostly finding bugs/issues/problems on my own, and with the help of a few kind testers who report back anything "Immersion Breaking", getting it out publicly could also potentially help the development of this large fan project that is always a consistent progression. There's always room for improvement, and I want to keep polishing it and expanding on it. Simply, because I love No Man's Sky, like everyone else and it's enjoyable. I find it enjoyable to see my own ideas come to fruition in-game.
The only thing "potentially" holding me back from releasing a public test version yet, is my suspicion that there might be a few game breaking issues left somewhere. That's just me being extra careful though. As there may not be. I just want to be sure first... because a lot of people (back on the v10) didn't really seem to grasp the meaning of "BETA" or work in progress. So, I want to it be an as polished as possible initial release, with a disclaimer. I will always be happy if anyone kindly reports any issues, bugs, or potentially immersion breaking issues after it's released. Some things might be subjective (as we all have different preferences) - but my aim is to get a good balance, so that everything should blend together in such as way... as if it truly belongs there. So that it feels more like an addition to the game, rather than a mod. I've been hearing from several testers so far, that it already feels that way. In the event of someone not liking something about the project, I can simply make an over ride hotfix file. I'm always willing to tailor make adjustments for people, at their request, if it's reasonable and not too time consuming.

Yeah, I agree on that last part of the first paragraph. Modding and just coding in general has it's challenges, and the puzzle of logic, making things work the way you want and overcoming the problems you face are the things that make working with code so worthwhile. You get that rush of dopamine and it just drives you to do better.
So can't wait to see what this one looks like

This version does add new things to planets, and expand on interactions to an extent with those those, and certain things function differently.

However, it's not to the extent that I plan to take it yet.
With what's feasible in the current moment. There's a lot of things, that we need from HG's.
I'm sure it laid the foundations though, and that's what matters with a project like this.
There are just some awkward constraints with creatures and enemies that we can work around somewhat but it's not ideal

i landing on a planet with really distorted terrain. and now i can't get off because i can't get to my ship and only the player can walk on the terrain so i can't call my ship to me

Press Windows+R on your keyboard. When the run dialog opens, type %Appdata% and then click "OK."
A window will popup inside of your computers %Appdata% directory, and inside of there will be a folder titled "HelloGames". Please zip that file and upload it. Preferably google drive. This way, I can load your save and fix the crash directly. ๐

- Fixed a sentinel police wanted level related crash
- Fixed a space battle sound bug
- Re-worked terrain greatly, so that it's still varied but shouldn't look funky at times. Rich terrain resource worlds are less common. (still need to verify)
- Increased overall game brightness a bit
- Balanced out certain certain assets on various biomes
- Made some more special biomes less rare
