Sometimes it's really translucent
I could lower the opacity a bit, but I like it the way it is
And if I lower it too much then it becomes "too transparent" and I have to raise the opacity again (as pointed out in the past)

For the most part
To a certain extent that can be done as I've written some E3 colour palettes (tens of thousands of RGB values)
It's also important to remember that HG had pre-set demo files (which this planet isn't one of them or isn't anywhere in the files) where they specified a certain amount of rules. It was like, loading up a pre-set planet that would always be the same. But I'm creating E3 quality stuff on the scale of the entire in-game universe, and aiming to keep it consistent and as varied as possible... which expanded colour palettes will be a part of it. It would get repetitive if always the same "color wise"
You can set a "palette" to be a certain way, but it would change depending on the lighting. Even in E3 builds. It wasn't always the same. We just really only saw those planets under those circumstances, in that lighting, and time of day/night (with some rules they set).

Any Star-Wars mod recommendations for No Man's Sky?

at the moment, I've only got millennium falcon and a pod racer atlas ready.. millennium falcon features a custom cockpit.. and both will be in a mod released sometime between now and the beginning of this weekend and I'll work on an update to be released before Christmas (hopefully)..
Currently, I have 3 different tie fighters (Tie Fighter, Tie Interceptor, Vader's Tie Fighter/Advanced Tie Fighter; each sharing the same custom cockpit interior) and an x-wing model that has 8 different livery skins that were in pathfinder ready to convert over.. also have many more ships from star wars on the "to-do" list..
ARC170, A-Wing, B-Wing, Y-Wing, YT2400 (which will use the millennium falcon custom cockpit), Jedi Bomber, Jedi Interceptor, The Imperial ship (three wings; will feature no folding animation, sorry), Naboo Starfighter, Rebel Phantom Fighter, Slave1 (or is it "Slave One"?), Anakin's Pod Racer, Tie Defender, Tie Phantom and Tie Raptor..
got a handful of Star Trek ships and more ships from various sci-fi media.. going to also be adding Rick & Morty's car (once I can texture it) and Korbin's Taxi from the 5th Element.. still looking for a good "Mr Fusion" DMC12 that's free license..

I wrote around 700,000 lines of XML script, and re-wrote the game's terrain voxel generation file 9x over in order to obtain a nearly infinite variety of terrain; while also keeping the original terrain that ships with the game. It's a large file, and I didn't add blocks to it but kept working on it and studying it and re-writing things until I got things to surpass my expectations. This is one of the planets that I found with unique terrain. There are lots more, and it may even get better down the line. I've made this for when I release the next update to my game overhaul.

Has anyone ever been able to see what is in all of the cockpits in the game? As in, when you're sitting in your starship, to see what's behind you for example.
What do you mean? Is it just a textureless wall?
It's sort of like, if you would clip through it... not really any textures there from what I've seen

@kindred tiger there's nothing behind you.. the cockpits are a forward facing scene and only what is shown to the camera's FoV is actually modeled.. I'm pretty sure this is to reduce model complexity as well as it's more expedient..
if you want to be able to look all the way around, you could set the entities to have a 180 left/right.. but there's nothing to look at..
So basically it's just open to space

yea, that's the mesh for the re-entry glow effects
that's not the textures the game uses.. just something for visualization instead of having a solid red material

my holohud actually restricts cockpit panning because it's supposed to simulate a fixed screen.. which is kinda worse than not being able to look all the way around in the first place.. but if I allowed the ability to pan the view, the display screens would go off screen and break the HUD feel.. more than the game already does during flight..

I've been converting them and importing them into NMS.. I did do the eye candy effects such as rotating components, intake/engine effects, proc color plasma effects, lightning effects (which has been the most difficult to map to the mesh. I mapped then mirrored one of the pod racer hoses to do both, and it still took me ~2hrs.)
The original meshes that I start with are not my own work, and in most cases, neither is the texturing.. the UFO, however, is more built by me than the rest of the ships..

Yeah, I calculated certain object mesh geometrics
and applied collissions to them
Mostly for E3 unused objects
That lacked collission

Lol, took'em long enough.
Just added 400 new color palettes that each individually provide an infinite possibility of infinite unique colors (with tens of thousands of values changed each), E3 color palettes, custom color palettes that I made, alternate variations of the original palettes, and the original planetary color palettes in-game are still around. The space colors have been expanded too, in-between nebulae, space clouds, space fog from the infinite worlds trailer and other things. Including the custom multi-weather I made and custom heavy air (which can have the vanilla palette but also any of the other infinitely varied palettes). There can also be infinite water colors I believe, and multi-colored water. Going to look into sky colors soon.

Say, 1.4 drops tomorrow. How hard would it be to ship your overhaul to that version?
Probably a fair bit harder considering MBINCompiler would need to be updated. RaYRoD can hex edit a bunch, no doubt, so they could readjust some stuff that way, but that's a much slower process, and in some cases may not be able to reach stuff they've adjusted via decompiled MBINs.
And maybe they change some formats in the update as well which makes it harder to find stuff
it also depends what gets changed.. if they make changes to metadata stuff, shaders, effects, materials, etc.. I should be fine.. as long as they don't reformat the way the models are built/processed again..
and part of me wants to doubt that they'd go thru the headache of changing model structure again.. but the other part of me knows they're not done w/ NMS and there's no telling what can transpire
maybe they need to restructure some stuff to fix some of the odd bugs
or maybe to implement new features
but I anticipate HG will do something to draw attention to the update.. their influx of new & returning players peaked at Atlas due to all the speculation hype..
they're not just going to drop it over night..
yea, Ket.. like the inventory bugs associated with the Shuttle, Exotic and Capital Freighters
which bugs are that?
I think I know the capital freighter one, but not shuttle and exotic
they're all the same.. the inventory nodes aren't written as proc (with an underscore).. so the next inventory node in the file overwrites the previously selected inventory.. Shuttles have a large inventory range of 29~40 slots.. but players don't see it because the large inventory gets assigned, then the small/medium one assigns after that.. same happens with the 35~48 range on the freighters and although I haven't looked at the s-class proc close enough, I'd imagine that's why it's not getting it's large inventory option despite all the entities present in the game files..
huh, I didn't see the large ones being used at all except for capital freighter
for shuttle it sets teh default to small, then overrides to medium if it has the double hull
while exotic got default as fighter_small, then overrides with medium royal
but fighter small is 15-19 anyway
yeah and not used after the patch as far as I know
and that sounds about right.. I just remember the medium entities ended up trumping everything on those ships..
and it's been like that since 1.2 update
the entities exist, but aren't references anywhere
except in capital freighter
where its set to large by one of the first sections, but another part is defined after it which overrides it to medium
btw, I did the math on inventory size chances a few days ago, following the descriptors

it's a ship pack.. that will eventually have over 50 ships.. yes, there's ships from different things.. this was never meant to be a Star Wars mod..
it's already crossed between Star Wars, Star Trek, Invader Zim, the Jetsons (kinda), Eve Online, and Wipeout HD.. I got freelancer ships on deck, BSG, and more.. but hat's off to you for knowing the ship.. so far, everyone else has thought it's just a cool fighter/shuttle design..

sorry, been catching a lot of flak for some of the content players dislike.. like give me a break and just enjoy what you do like.. heck, if you hate the other ships that much, go out and find their pirate equivalents and destroy them.. but I guess it's more enjoyable to criticize the mod.. I mean, I know people don't really buy music cd's these days, but regardless.. record, cassette, cd, etc. I've never encountered an album where I enjoyed EVERY song.. there were at least a couple of tracks on each album that would get skipped.. I didn't take time to write the artist and complain about the bad tracks.. but I know there's people like that :\

the cruiser features GiR in the passenger seat..

kk, lost the proc colors, the proc plasma glow, the orange intake effects.. but I kept the engine exhaust stuff.. because I don't want all my time to be spent in vain.. plus it's the only thing I absolutely liked and didn't have to doubt like the rest..

I just assembled over 19,000 lines of ecology data (every block within those 19k lines is unique in various ways) and have layers of unique rules for different creature types. I'm working on making ecology as varied and immersive as possible. Currently also working on custom creature assemblies as well (E3 style). When it's done, my ecology overhaul will be like v3.0

After I wake up, I have a pretty good idea of what to do. Lots of planets in here look very E3-ish. Especially with the new (official E3 skies) added.
I'll be integrating official E3 planets in soon, after I polish up these official IGN planets. The mod now has official IGN and E3 skies and space colors.

Oh yea the e3 buildings are absolutely fantastic and strange and interesting; my favorite building is from the e3 2014 desert planet with those red tall structures with numbers on them that look like they are meant to store something so cool @hallow pumice

Sometimes it's less, but I made a mistake working on it for a week once without sleep. I got a panic attack for staying up too long that time. The longest I've stayed awake was a bit over 7 days. Not healthy
So I've been trying to just sleep regular and work on it when I'm fully rested 😂
(just keep in mind many of the E3 buildings are basically like the plaques with no interiors)
There's so much stuff to do and stuff that I want to do and great ideas that people suggest.

the workaround would basically be editing the model and configuring collisions to fit around the opening so you could even get in, lol

There's some PS4 only build scenes referenced in there
I tried implementing one of the ship models from that scene
And it ended up being the same ship from that e3 trailer with the floating islands (forgot the name)
There's also a multitool seed in there
Haven't tested it yet

If you saw that random video of the "upside down" type biome that looked like it was from stranger things... it was pretty wild. Not scripted either. I landed there and it was dark on that planet, even in the day time, with a blue glowing eclipse

Ah yeah but also remember that this is the v10 update, not to mention the versions before this that were similar in size. So, as said... 1.1 was large, 1,2 was large, same with 1.3, and 1.4 all the way through v9.9 and the near 1,000 v10 betas that all have been large and most of the work isn't logged
As that's only a brief/rough explanation
For a few reasons
I prefer not to spoil stuff
And I have no time to write all that (every step of the way and work on stuff)

I've been getting reports by some people (which also happened to me) that the link on cobra's site isn't loading properly. I'm also about to upload a newer version with newer ecology, lots of fixes, E3 skies, E3 space colors, and lots of other things. I sort of pre-maturely released it. But I am planning to re-upload a more superior version. Also, when I upload the new version I recommend re-downloading as it has a lot of fixes.

A few changes in the past 2 days I made are
"Lots of rare fixes, new biomes, slight visual adjustments, a few visual fixes, the ecology is re-made from scratch (wrote over 19,000 lines and added multiple unique layers of rules for every creature, assembled and implemented E3 Vesta Prime creatures, E3 whales, created rare (animal herds) created like 8 kinds of new procedural forests (that should be different each time), created a few other biomes, AI adjustments"
