Basically if you think of the atlas as a living being with will, but based on what we know all it does is create universes with anomalies it then seeks to destroy in and endless painful loop. Now being creation and destruction as it's only 2 known actions it creates things only to end badly like lore around crashed freighters and starships, destiny, fate, whatever you call it like the matrix of the simulation ends this way in it's only means to express it's suffering.
