Yeah, the co-ordinates roam a relatively constrained area and you should have an idea of what you're looking for, so I just landed a couple of times and used the analysis visor to pick out and tag the site, then flew to it. Getting the Liquid Sun was harder due to the planetary conditions.

The first set of co-ordinates are North/Southings. If you're in positive and need to head to negative, head south
As you head south the co-ordinates will count down in the positives and once you cross the equator, will turn negative and start counting through the negatives

Second set is E/W, which go to 180+ or 180-, so if you're in the positives, just go east or west until you get into the negatives
Best way to cover big numbers is to go out of atmosphere and dolphin dive using pulse jumps

Then yes, you want to head north, because that will slowly count up through the negatives as you head back towards the equator, and eventually get you to -13
At which point stop, and then head west until you get to -167
Then when you're at -13.x, -167.x, set down and use your analysis visor to look for an unknown building. If you're close enough it will actually appear as an Ancient Plaque site

@manic bear To find portals, first, find a monolith. There are two ways to do that.
- If you have an exocraft with upgraded scanners, you can scan for an Alien Structure.
- If you don't have an exocraft, buy some planetary charts from the cartographer on a space station.
2a) Use an Ancient Artifacts map to find a monolith. It may take a few tries, as these maps find Monoliths, Plaques and Ruins.
Once you've found a monolith, SAVE FIRST, and then answer its question. Then, activate it again and feed it the relic belonging to the species of that system (Korvax Casing, Vy'Keen dagger, Gek Relic).
It will say something about Ley Lines, and will reveal the icon for the portal on that planet.
Once you find the portal, you have to charge the glyphs, with elements such as oxygen and cobalt. Fully charge all 16, and then you can dial.

I just had a really weird thing happen - am at the point where I ma looking to charge the sould chamber. First co-ordinates I was sent to were right in the middle of GIANT ocean. Noticed that if I turned multiplayer on, there was a communications station on the spot, so I went out into space, to try and find the closest land from there - it was night time, so I landed on the nearby planet to wait for day to get to that part of the planet, and when I got back to the co-ordinates, it was on land! It's like the planet composition changed or something!

I'm at the stage to find the 4th ship component, but the coordinates I'm told to go to are not updating. I'm on the right planet, and I'm in the right spot, but I'm almost positive that the only "structure" on the planet is a crashed ship about 10 hours away.
I've tried leaving the planet and coming back, as well as quitting the game entirely, to no avail

I was at the target coordinates, landed near and took the egg from the Starship inventory to my player inventory. This caused the quest to reset to stage one (find the system marker in the galaxy map)

Only other option I can think is to use the reset mission option
That requires a vast distance between you and the objective - use a blackhole
If it works, there will be an option in the log to reset the step to near your current area

Is anyone else having to go a really far distance for the living ship mission? I used a portal to check out the research facility, and then got an update to visit another system. However, since I went through the portal, I was unable to access the galaxy map, so I went back through the portal, and have now been warping to the destination for about 2 hours with no end in sight.

Go back through the portal. Open galaxy map, should default to “current mission”. Should tell you how far at the top.
If not. Make sure the mission is selects in your log, then switch to current mission in galaxy map.

When you say go through the portal, I'm assuming you mean leave the system the lab was on? That's the only way I can access the map. I did that, and this is what the galaxy map shows
Starbirth is the selected mission in the log, but I don't see an indicator of how far I need to travel. I can follow the trace for a bit, but it seems to stop rendering after like 10 jumps

Ahh okay so you'll end up in Eissentam. (I usually chill there actually) before you do anything, plant a base computer in Eissentam and then head to a space station. If you do not have a base in Elucid, make a base computer. It's an easy way to make sure you have a way to both.
If you don't have a base in Elucid, you can still go back provided you have ever used a space station terminus. (space station portal)

So when you fast forward the time in offline mode.
It reads it as the next day and fast forwards you to that.
