an interesting thing i did find out however, is that it doesn't matter where the egg is, if you've got the egg in one of your inventories (exosuit, ship or freighter) you can still trigger the quest to start and it will consume an egg

AHH finding the second organ for the alien ship is proving to be extreeeeemely frustrating! Unstable coordinates... I would seem to be in the averaged center of them but can see absolutely nothing with my Analysis Visor around there... it's really frustrating.
(also the egg picked a planet with cloudy storms on the regular so visibility is very much affected too)

I had one floating anomaly as random encounter, I destroyed it, got some rotten item from it and that was all.

I found that the mako (whatever the four-wheeled vehicle is, but my mind goes to Mass Effect) feels faster than on foot (well, punch & fly), or at least feels more fluid. But I find I give myself a boost on a hill and then jump, and it goes pretty fast.
But that could just be a placebo effect. 😉

yeah most encounters depend on the star type
but i get the feeling something else is involved to determine exactly how many or what type appear, rather than it solely being a spin of the wheel when ever you get into pulse mode, unless the wheel has different percentages for things, with Freighter being more common and the rest being split evenly into small percentages

Going in and out of atmosphere is performance heavy, as it prepares loading in out different scenes

constantly going in and out means it has to bring up the ground everytime you get back into atmosphere, and so might not have gotten rid of the ground after you left, and doing that constantly would cause the game to crash, or even your console

the exact tech we can get for our ships is still unknown since it's so early in the update, we're still trying to determine what space encounters we can get and what they give and where you can find them, so getting info about the living ships themselves is going to be awhile

How do you find the void eggs humming coordinates that keep changing?

@safe ginkgo The coordinates change every few seconds. Kinda take an average, or look around. It'll appear as an unknown building on your visor, but you're looking for an Ancient Plaque, the ones that look like monoliths, but are a bit smaller and don't have the 3 knowledge stones. It might take some running around, or exploring a bit in an exocraft.

We can also pulse drive infinitely just in deep space instead of pulsing to any planet.
Though I remember seeing in old videos (where players were trying to pulse drive to star or to other star system) that if we pulse drive too far from the planets, the game gets bugged.

nah i don't think specific spots matter, i think it might have a randomly generated wheel that determines if you get an encounter or not
putting specific spots on is kind of stupid since we'll be flying around all the time really and could miss the spots
having it based on how long we've been pulsing for/having randomyl generated while pulsing would avoid that issue

When I go through the portal, the system teleports to the wrong place.
This is already after the 21/02/2020 update.
i reloaded the backup, reinstalled the game but unfortunately the bug is up.
since then I went to EUCLID Galaxys and tried it from there. I found the erpetrith raya. I waited, I flew, I went everywhere and nothing. could this be a mistake? fault?

And as you get closer to the coordinates they update the ?? portions to finish out the exact coordinates.

i looked inside some abadoned freighters, you can shoot down the doors to the treasure vaults ( like the ones in crashed freighters on planets), but you can't access the storage cahce or anything

for the egg quest, you'll have 3 main pieces that will be around 24 hour each, and 2 final pieces that are 26 hours each

Also you can use the steam "play offline" feature so you dont have to turn the net off. Its under the steam dropdown

this is my fault for getting pissed and quitting last night lol. I had to fly low on the planet to be able to see the coordinates on my ship without the 'glare' from the sun but it was literally lined with trees so I kept hitting them
