Here's my Devils Advocate thought process behind why they did this. They stated that they're experimenting with smaller updates so that people aren't waiting six months at a time for a large update. Maybe this timegate IS the initial testing. Time gate it in such a way that if done naturally and enough people do it naturally with the time gates without using save editors or manipulating the time on the computer it'll be around the time their next "mini-update" is

Keep it in your inventory, and go out to space. Start pulse jumping in any direction as long as you can keep on pulse jumping for a solid minute or two, until you get a scanning sound and notice a message saying "anomaly detected, exit pulse to examine" and your starship communicator will light up. The same goes for the new space encounters (egg is not needed for them).

I was doing the living ship quest and it told me to go to space and wait for a message. I started pulse engine and i got a relic gate encounter. I go through it, end up at the edge of the galaxy in a different system. When I pulse more I get the next step of the quest that tells me to go to the next galaxy. Cant find the planet to land on, no indication of quest system anywhere and the quest is telling me to go to the next system again, which is nowhere in sight. Kinda stuck in the quest

@uncut harness fly close enough to the planet that you can see the coordinates in your cockpit. keep flying and note whether the numbers are going up or down. course correct as needed until you are flying in the direction that makes your numbers get closer to the target numbers. keep going until it gives you the first decimal point. land thereabouts, get out, and walk around with your scanner open until you are at the right spot and you can see a monolith looking thing

So I restarted the game, got the location of the ship again (different location this time). The ship looked different again, same colour but different shape "nose". But... it still have loads of broken slots that need repair.
Is this a known bug? Or is it just RNG that some get to repair slots on top of everything else? If it's a known bug I may not feel like using a save editor to repair the slots is cheating...
As it happens, I didn't like the look of the ship, so I'm reloading... again...

To find portals, first, find a monolith. There are two ways to do that.
- If you have an exocraft with upgraded scanners, you can scan for an Alien Structure.
- If you don't have an exocraft, buy some planetary charts from the cartographer on a space station.
2a) Use an Ancient Artifacts map to find a monolith. It may take a few tries, as these maps find Monoliths, Plaques and Ruins.
Once you've found a monolith, SAVE FIRST, and then answer its question. Then, activate it again and feed it the relic belonging to the species of that system (Korvax Casing, Vy'Keen dagger, Gek Relic).
It will say something about Ley Lines, and will reveal the icon for the portal on that planet.

Can get navigation data from the little cubes and stuff on tables in the space station. If it happens to not have those (it should somehwere), you can (maybe?) buy one from a trade terminal, or just fly onto a planet really quick and activate a save beacon at a building to get one

I did, yeah. And it told me it would be swapping ships. So I panicked, pulled out a ship I didn't care for, and then went to swap them.

yeah basically gotta land, exit ship, claim living ship (without doing any other actions beforehand), which i can see how that could be an issue if u already got 6 ships

ALWAYS keep 1 ship slot open. I only ever have 5 ships
Cause u never know when ur dream ship will show up and u need to swap fast and u don't want to trade your current ship
