I have a few questions about Remembrance

#

Okay so “the KORVA” is mentioned
And is referred to similar to the way to “the ATLAS”

#

What is the relation between the two?

Also there’s this weird bit about the Creator looking into the glass of the Atlas that I can’t interpret
But I think it’s important cos the glass is mentioned again at the time just before the ATLAS dies

#

So I think that maybe the ATLAS was:

Rebooted
Memory Wiped
Turned off
Had it’s memory (our in-game universe) transferred to another AI

#

Since the ATLAS’ inability to witness its own death mirrors its temporary loss of consciousness early in the story

@uncut harness The glass bit is probably referencing the CREATOR witnessing the glass protocol, which is probably to do with the Atlas existing in all of the simulations of simulations and all that jazz. Basically the infinity mirror stuff from Waking Titan with the repeating interfaces.

I always interpreted it as the creator realizing the full extent of what it's actually doing with itself (re: simulating world upon world that can have sims with the Atlas appearing again.)

I don't think it's a coincidence glass is how the infinity mirrors are made (obviously) with Atlas being reflected piece by piece across every single reality that stems from the true host-sim and the distinct reference of a reflection the CREATOR witnesses peering into the machine. I would suppose the reflection of universes, again and again, with the Atlas always being there.

Tbh, when I first started the storyline I legit thought I’d be able to find and talk to Artemis.

It was a tough decision to lock Artemis in the simulation but I figured it’s better than death.

The only real question I have about the lore is if there's anyway for the anomaly to be "repaired" from within the simulation.

I wonder this because, it may be in the simulation, but I'm not positive.

And from the things I've seen in the lore, they act as if the player is the only one who is not artificial.

That sounds unrealistic, but if we have a machine that can simulate multiple universes, with practical sentience, it doesn't seem that far off to materialize matter out of thin air.

If they were making a new machine, why not build off the original? It'd be less resource consuming, and you could keep the simulations already existent. If it was a complete overhaul, causing a unnecessary need for the original, couldn't you at least scrap the original to use some of it's resources for the new machine?

Did they already do that? Is that why the Atlas is failing or is it because they stopped upkeeping it the fuel ran out?

The Traveller comes from the reality in which the Atlas is made. The protocol was made to replicate the Atlas' creator when it was starting to die.

The reason why the Sentinels are corrupt is still a mystery, but likely related to how the Atlas is engaging a sense of rampancy as it is beginning to die.

@uncut harness yea I'm a bit disappointed with it that's all. Been following since 2013 rabidly, paid 120 for a copy day -6, and then found out just how simple that core gameplay loop really is. I love survival games a la ark and Conan. All it would take for me is a bit more of that formula and I'd be in love. Some loot you find in the world, some technology engrams based on xp, some type of rpg skill tree elements. All of these are fairly minor tweaks

Okay so from what I read, most of not all of the base materials are stored in your base computer. This is because of the overhaul of all systems meaning the planets changed and could have wrecked your base. So just find a habitable base area or build the base computer from the build menus (up arrow on ps4 idk for pc) and all your stuff will be there. Just a matter of rebuilding.

Emily is an AI run on the Atlas that allows the Atlas in the game to be made. The Atlas in the game is an engine hence its dialect and way of speaking through 1.3. In 1.3, the Atlas is dying from its homeworld, allowing multiplayer to happen through the destruction of its attached hierarchy separating each Traveller. That's how I view it, at least.
That's why Loop16 runs on the Atlas engine, as said by WT
The way in which the Atlas is made in the game is through multiple versions of the AI adding to the dream (simulation) that is No Man's Sky (also known as Mercury.) We are in Mercury.XXXX, which is a version made from Loop16 after 1.3.(edited)
WT isn't the origin of the ATLAS, but it's an extension of it. It's another reality in which the ATLAS is hardcoded, stemming from its true source that is revealed in REMEMBRANCE.
Again, just how I view it. I have a doc on this if you'd like to see it. It has this and more in it.
In the game, at least for 1.3, we played as Travellers. Travellers are from REMEMBRANCE, in which... well, you'll see if you play the game a bit more I suppose.

For sentinels you can use the pulse engine between waves, or atleast used to, for pirates you just pick a direction and hold the boost button, and after like 30 sec they will be far enough away for you to use the pulse engine
