PS4 boost mode doesn't kick in on pro enabled games like NMS so it won't affect it. Did you widen your field of view? I did and that's when performance dropped so I just locked the frame rate in settings.

Also if you are on PC and have a Radeon card.. I got an rx580.. but if you have any troubles with fps download a 3rd party app called Radeon pro that clears up any issue you might be having. You can pm me if ya want

PC is much more difficult to patch because there is such a wide variety of variables where things could go wrong as hardware is not uniform

It's not possible. Pro enabled games are patched to pro settings by default.
I think you are thinking of boost mode which only affects games without a pro patch
Boost mode can be switched on and off but no man's sky is pro patched so it wouldn't matter

I'm on a pro and not having any issues. The "unlocked frames" doesn't run just as well as before but I switched that off and locks it to a relatively stable 30fps that I can see

@quick fossil I'm definitely 'no pro' hur hur, but games like Final Fantasy XV definitely had that option, and I believe Horizon Zero Dawn let you choose resolution. Stuff like that, it's definitely in a lot of pro-enhanced titles. Might be worth a look if you haven't.

@tame flower So games with a pro patch generally get options like higher textures or resolution. The only thing NMS offers for settings is locked frame rate.
Games without a patch let you "boost" but it doesn't affect patched games.
So for NMS you can only lock the frame rate. Hope that makes sense.

Right click NMS in steam, and settings, and there is a backup there.... the only problem is after the update, you lose some things, and some things change
