Best Ship Weapons (dps) [Information]
So I've been trying to figure out what the best ship weapon/weapons are. I spent some time looking stuff up online but couldnt find anything recent so I thought I'd have a go myself.
Full disclosure I havent done this sort of thing before but I thought there might be other people with the same question so I though I'd share my findings. Any feedback is appreciated.
Photon Cannon:
Peak Damage Potential: 6,879
Rocket Launcher:
Peak Damage Potential: 2,906 Peak Damage Potential (Shielded): 387
Phase Beam:
Peak Damage Potential: 7,411
Positron Ejector:
Peak Damage Potential: 17,578 Peak Damage Potential (Shielded): 5,801
Infra-Knife Accelerator:
Peak Damage Potential: 30,672 Peak Damage Potential (Shielded): 20,448
Cyclotron Ballista:
Peak Damage Potential: 2,589 Peak Damage Potential (Shielded): 20,718
This was on an S rated Solar ship with a base damage value of about 190 (sorry but I dont have the time or the in game resources to max out a Fighter) with 6 S rated upgrades plus the one you can make for each weapon (except for the rocket launcher which apparently doesn't have any at all for some reason).
I did some test combat against a few Sentinel Interceptors (make what you will of what I'm about to say, I'm not an expert or anything). Each test was using a weapon on its own, not combining them in any way with other weapons.
The Photon Cannon did ok, TTk was a little slow (compared to the others, you'll see what I mean).
The Rocket Launcher was a joke, I had to give up on it because the Sentinels shield would regen fully before I could get a second shot off.
The Phase Beam did great against the shield but not so well against the hull, I get that it's meant to be like that but some of the other weapons are similar and they do so much better.
The Positron Ejector is a very good weapon, TTK is good and it will demolish...
