Can Nada still glitch out in 'loop' dialogue? [Bug]

I've seen tons of old posts about but I've just had it happen to me. None of the older posts offered any solutions... I'm at the "The Space Anomaly" quest which tells me to speak to Nada, and all he tells me is that Polo is very busy... in a loop.

Option Suggestion: Exiting the build menu autosaves the game, at least every now and then every few minutes or so. [Suggestion]

As the title says, needs to at least be an option that you can toggle, reason for it being that the game crashes a lot of the time when you stay in particular locations for a certain length of time which isn't usually an issue until you lose a half an hour of progress on a build and if you're building a buncha crap anyway, 9 times out of 10, unless you accidentally built something out of materials you didn't mean to spend that is REALLY expensive, it's just time wasted when it does crash that you do not want to lose. I would love to see this, especially in creative.

You can also drop a quick tip!

Tip #1: Always try to be doing multiple things. Pick up the portable refiner so you can refine something from your inventory while exploring and mining.

Tip #2: Avoid multiplayer until unlocking the anomaly, can be stranded if not.

Tip #3: Exotic worlds only have 1 fauna so it's easy to scan all of them.

Tip #4: Need glyphs? All 16 are on one planet here

Q- "I was on the Anomaly and a bunch of expensive stuff showed up in my inventory. What do I do with it? A:" Congrats! Another player has bestowed you with a gift. Most likely it is an item to sell for some quick and easy cash. Usually the item description will tell you what it is used for.

Q: "Help, I claimed a broken ship and now I can't find my starter ship! Is it gone forever?" A:" If you merely selected to "claim" the broken ship and not "swap" it, then your old ship is still around. If you left it with launch fuel in the tank, you can summon it with the quick-menu. If it does not have fuel, it can be summoned on the Anomaly (once you unlock it), your freighter (once you acquire one).

Q- "Are crashed ships worth repairing?" A-" Unless it is an exotic, no. Scrap the ship at the space station, sell the items it gives you, and use those units...

any tips on conquering the spire mountain peaks [Question]

So I spent about an hour last night trying to put a base at the top of the tallest mountain spire I have ever seen! The spire was so tall it left the atmosphere of the planet. Managed to jetpack to the top with a combination of using the terrain manipulator. I eventually made it to the top but it wouldn't let me place a base šŸ˜¢.

Was it too tall?

I couldn't get the terrain manipulator to put anything decent down it would only put down needles with points and they wouldn't flatten .

Any tips ? I was really wanting to drop a base computer then build up as far as I could then build a sky base.

Do settlements go further in debt when you are offline? [Question]

Just got my first settlement, and I have to go to sleep after setting up one buildingā€¦wondering If the debt accumulation timer keeps accumulating further debt while Iā€™m offline? (The ā€˜time till repaidā€™ is currently at infinity, thatā€™s what it was when I got the settlement).

A Brand New World [Discussion]

So Iā€™ve been playing this game off and on for years and when the pandemic hit, I got really invested. However, what killed the experience for me was playing on an Xbox one that would run at 20 frames every time I did something. However, that all changed. Yesterday I finally got a series X and holy crap the difference is like night and day. Nothing lags and it looks even more beautiful than before. So excited to play more.

Bases - revisiting them [Question]

Good whatever time it is for you.

My question is can other people revisit other people's bases? I used to be able but now I can not. Take for example, I found a lovely base that had a unwanted tour tunnel that I wanted to explore more, so I saved the game there, went to work and when I started the game up the next time I was on an empty island.

I have given this thought and was reassigned to the odd base disappearing as people delete their saves or start new profiles (I'm not sure if that would delete the base) but surely that many people can't be deleting?

If the game still crashes regularly on console, you should be able to save anywhere anytime. [Suggestion]

40 hours into this game and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. 10/10, I think I will still be playing this game in 60 years.

But I have lost several hours due to random crashes, so I think it's unacceptable that I can only save when getting out of my ship and at the landmark/outpost whatever. I can spend a long time running/driving around the planet or mining asteroids, and it's a pain in the butt to call my ship every 15min for fear of losing progress to a crash. I don't understand why it's like this.

Ultrawide experience [Discussion]

I have been playing this game since launch on my ps4, then ps4 pro, then ps5. Recently bought xbox game pass cheaply and played it on my computer, with a 49 inch super ultrawide and overkill gpu.

Hoe am I ever supposed to return to console after this experience? It feels so much more immersive and I have the feeling it looks better and crashes less...

Bug or Feature? [Bug]

Newish player, first time playing an expedition game save. Don't know if this is a function of the different game type or not?

On my normal save the capital ship/pirate battles are normal - every 3 hours of play then after 5 warps.

On my expedition save I get one every 2-3 warps, even if I've just had one (literally minutes apart). I've tried ignoring them, I've tried completed them, I've completed but not claimed reward. I already have a capital ship. Still occuring constantly, getting annoying.

Can someone explain why we cannot warp TO our freighter, with a practical example of why we should be able to. [Question]

I understand the fixed position argument. That planets and space stations have set coordinates. However, one can leave the Anomaly via teleporter and go anywhere within the NMS universe (not just that system or galaxy) and directly return through the menu. What makes this moving object any different than a freighter? Not arguing that it is or isn't. Just trying to understand.

NMS Hyperdrive compared to other SciFi. Slow or fast? [Discussion]

Easy references would be Star Trek's Warp 9 going somewhere between 0.032 light years in 20 minutes, and 10 light years in 51 hours. Source

Stargate's Goa'uld ha'tak traveling around 32,000 times the speed of light in hyperspace. Or Daedalus-class vessels (equiped with Asgard hyperdrive) going about 1,800 times faster than a ha'tak when traveling to Atlantis in the Pegasus galaxy from the Milky Way galaxy only taking twenty days to reach. (Atlantis was stated as being 3 million light years from Earth.) Source Also I think "The O'neill" was faster? But I chose not to mention it. (Also as someone who's watched all of Stargate, except for Universe and Origins, I'm surprised they even manage that speed.)

I'd love to have a Star Wars reference, but I'm not competent enough in my lore knowledge to even pick good candidates for comparison.

Any other FTL related sci-fi with documented speeds, please feel free to let me know! I feel the need to ask all of you here, because I'm not remotely qualified to tell if NMS is considered fast or slow in this regard. I assume NMS Freighters would be the optimal place to start looking for speed calculations?

Exotic Rifle Multitool? [Question]

Need solutions for a storyline glitch [Bug]

Iā€™m doing the first traveler story line on the part where you talk to null and find nadas crashed freighter. But whenever I get the coordinates for it the mission goes out of range, despite giving me the approximate coordinates and just being off planet. But nothing happens after I get the the coordinates or find the freighter.

Somehow lost 'First discovered by' on my starting system only (planets are still mine), to my friend who visited my base and other planets in the system a year later [Question]

I started playing about a year ago and ended up in a pretty cool system immediately. As far as I remember it was also the first system where I did an 'upload all' for my discoveries.

A few days ago my friend visited my base and a couple of planets in the system. Now, for some reason, all planets, animals, flora etc in the system are still labeled as 'Discovered 1 year ago' by me, but the system itself is labaled as 'Discovered 3 days ago' by my friend.

Surrounding systems, which my friend also visited, are still labeled as discovered by me.

I don't understand what could've happened here. I've considered that maybe I've somehow I've just hallucinated ever clicking on 'upload all', but then how come all planets etc inside the system (and those surrounding planets) still have my name on them? IIRC the system in question is even the very first system I started in.

Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!

Brand New to NMS - Playing in VR - Any gameplay tips? [Question]

Running a RTX 3090 (although still on an i7-7700k) at 90hz and the game, so far, is amazing and smooth... so this is (luckily for me), not a request for performance tweaks.

What tips/advice/problems do other VR players have for a newbie? For example, can I zoom my Visor scanner? What doesn't work well in VR?

I absolutely LOVED Subnautica, and this game seems like that game in space and on steroids. However, VR support, in Subnautica, was unplayable to me. This, so far, seems completely playable in VR... but I'm sure as I get deeper, I'll see problems.

Any input appreciated!

Empty Trading Post? [Screenshot]

One of the planets in my system is abandoned. There is no one at the trading posts, and there are no ships in the skies, despite this being a very temperate planet. The interwebs say the a planet can be abandoned like this if the space station is also, but this is a Flourishing system with a very busy space station.

Thoughts? The planet is an Infested Paradise, if that helps.

Extreme mode [Discussion]

Im planning on doing an extreme playthrough since i kinda got bored playing in normal, and i want to get some advice first. I wont do any glitching such as duplication or building (only to make stuff like a resource farm look nice and align, but wont build stuff that i couldnt build before). S class multi tool [Question]

Iā€™ve watched like 2 videos explaining the multi tool cabinets. I was just traveling around some systems and stumbled onto an s class cabinet in a small settlementā€¦ my understanding was that if I reloaded from the other planets I could ā€œrerollā€ the mt and keep it S class. any tips on how to get better quality for xbox? [Question]

My game isn't THAT bad and there isn't much lag, but it's pretty choppy all the time and there are definitely frames missing every few seconds. It's playable, but can be bery irritating and it also takes away from the beauty of the game as everything is rendered pretty poorly sometimes and some textures don't load at all. 90% of the creatures in the game are smooth colour pallettes with a play-doh face.

I love this game, i just wish it ran better like for a lot of people. I don't have internet issues, nor do I have space capacity or xbox issues. It's definitely the game or something connected to the game as every other application on my xbox works perfectly.

I'm currently about 400 hours in and had finished the Artemis storyline. I made it to the point where the Atlas was chattering at me (redacted for spoilers) and thought I was done. Though disappointed that "it was over", I have been spending the last few days farting around the universe, not really accomplishing much of anything. I just had the "I think I'm done with NMS" conversation with my fiance last night in fact. Then I discovered that Polo still had a few things to show me... Here we go again!

Planet with 2 different robot-type adoptable fauna in Euclid galaxy [Screenshot]

The image doesnŹ»t do them justice, I know, but they are very nice. The smaller type is usually whimsical, playful, running around more than the other. Planet itself is a wasteland, there is nothing in the way of buildings / settlements / ruins / depot, etc. No sentinels, and no weather of course. Does have Emeril hotspots if you want to mine - which is why I went there in the first place, and I guess there must be a portal, eh?

Another thing there is here in abundance is Di-Hydrogen. Also as a secondary element in medium-sized minerals that look a bit like broken pottery shard on the ground.

Expedition 5 Help! Milestones Not Working [Question]

I haven't found anyone else with this issue, but my milestones are not progressing anymore during phase 3 of expedition 5. I have collected the 3 types of eggs for best laid plans and the four types of milk for wild dairy (fresh, craw, wild, and warm proto). I have these in my inventory and the milestones won't unlock in the phase 3 page. Am I missing something? Please help this is my first expedition..

Upgrade Module Rework idea [Discussion]

Buy your upgrades

Use nanites to increase their stats until they reach the upper limit of their class (Ex: 50 and 100 for Lifesupport/ 225, 10, 25, and 50 on Jetpack/ 33 and 34 on Shields)

How it works:

S-class Life support mod: Solar 30% and Tanks 55%

You use 400 to upgrade the stats

New stats: 35% and 79%

Use 400 again

46% and 80%

Rinse/repeat until you have 50 and 100

It essentially shrinks the stat pool each time until you achieve the max stat numbers for that class type. Past 50 and 100 will not give you anything more.

PSA: If you have a powerful enough NVidia GPU, try DLDSR [Information]

I own a RTX 3070 with a 21/9 1080p display (2560*1080) and I can run everything maxed out with the game and never drop below 90fps.

In january, NVidia released DLDSR which is super sampling which allows you to render the game at a higher resolution before downscaling it. This is not new, DSR existed for a while, but this is deep learning based, and it produces much better looking result than DSR while being pretty well optimized.

I've been using the 2.25x with DLSS anti-aliasing and it gave me a huge boost in graphics while never diping below 60 FPS in dense areas and staying around 90 most time on the ground, and 120+ in space.

I suggest you take a look at tutorials online on how to activate it and give it a try if your system can handle it.

I bought a series X recently and after playing NMS for 10 minutes it shut down as it said it had overheated. I now have a replacement and I've played 20 minutes on it this morning and I can hear the fan, it was getting louder, nowhere near as loud as the last one but I'm feeling a bit paranoid tbh. Canā€™t get into Multiplayer [Bug]

I just turned on my PS4 and had to install a system update. Now when I open up No Manā€™s Sky, it goes straight to the screen where you pick single player/multiplayer.

When I click on multiplayer it doesnā€™t work. Like, it wonā€™t go to the host a session screen. Clicking single player works, but not multiplayer.

I tried turning off the PS4 and turning it on again. Is anyone else having this issue?

Hello travelers! I have a question about settings more specifically on GeForce NOW but maybe it's the same thing with the game itself. [Question]

To configure ultra settings and DLSS the game requires a restart. So close the current game and going back to the game choice mode menu and restart the back-up is enough to confirm these settings, right? Or should the game be closed completely back to the desktop?

Another fu*king mission bug [Bug]

So I canā€™t complete the damn ā€œBase computer archivesā€ mission b/c no matter how many damn black holes I take and bases i delete it still says my base computer is in another system, even after I only have 1 base left. How stupid is that! Now, ā€œ A trace of metalā€ mission canā€™t be completed because when I get up to the ā€œaccess the sentinel pillar archivesā€ part, the fu*king terminal is located inside a damn mountain which is an active volcano šŸŒ‹! So, now I canā€™t move past this mission either, what the hell is up w this game. If you canā€™t tell Iā€™m pretty pissed off ! šŸ˜”šŸ˜¤šŸ˜

So after a while, I finally found a planet to create an oxygen farm. Found a spot and set up a base computer. Looked at the build options, shoot. I need a resource not available on that planet. Back into space, next planet...hell yeah.

Spent an hour scanning and island hopping and decide to use my advanced visor...its underwater.

Spent an hour building a subnautic base, gathers, pipes and shiny things...hang on a minute....that item I wanted to build no longer requires ammonia?

ARRRRRRRRRRGH! NOOOOOO!

That's an oxygen gatherer, not atmosphere condenser.

Shit. Wasted 2 and a half hours.

Being able to sort/move around bases in the teleporter interface [Suggestion]

Just a random Idea, being able to sort things like bases in the teleporter interface or pets in the companion register. Like putting main bases in the first page for example, or pets you like the most on the first, second or third page. I'm a sorting maniac that has almost every material in my cargo but I just thought it would be a good feature to add in a future update

What's the gutrot flowers REAL yield? [Question]

I was harvesting for my statis device farm and i couldn't craft 65 lubricant because i ran out of faecum. I checked carefully and i had farmed 96 plants and according to the wiki, that should give me 3840 faecum minimum. Instead i got 2400. Did they change something? Please help us farmers find out and the wiki editors may need to make changes to the gutrot flower and faecum pages. Thanks in advance:)

Mission Bounties not working. [Question]

So, I accept Bounty Missions from a Mission agent, I go to the bounty marker in space and nothing happens, no pirates, no derelict "arena" and/or "fighting area". So I fly around for a while and still nothing, so I have to abandon the mission. Why does this happen? It doesn't happen for every mission, but more often than not- it does. This is very annoying to me since I am trying to increase standing with the guilds.

Ship Seed Jackpot! [Information]

Ship seeds. Everyone loves them, everyone wants them, but finding them, well, that's a different matter. Since NMSseedsclub went down, they can be a chore to find. NoMansSeeds.com has a bajillion of them, but that site's been playing YoYo, up and down and up and down all year.

It seems to be the source images from NoMansSeeds, but without some of the functionality. That is, these are PNG images, with about 77 ships per page that have a pic of the ship and the seed, but you can't copy the seed, and have to type it in manually. Personally, I keep a text file with my favorite seeds in it.

On this site, in this folder you will find 7 zip files, each of a different ship type. I'd grab them while you can. The parent directory has a bunch of stuff in it as well, but I haven't checked that out yet.

You will need a save file editor to use the seeds; those are easy to find with a simple Google search.

Does anyone have a method for finding planets or moons with specific properties? [Question]

For example (possible spoiler), you can find lush planets if you select Starbulb from the menu. Your navigational computer will route you to the closest lush planet where Starbulb grows.

I've tried to look specifically for planets that have glowing grass at night by comparing the properties of other planets that have glowing grass. For example, one planet with glowing grass will be Paradise with copper, parafinium, and cobalt. But locating another planet with those same properties will not guarantee glowing grass at night.

Might it be more common with the specific type of star or planet a Paradise moon (for example) is orbiting?

Wondering if there is any method to the madness. Even in our own chaotic universe, you can determine (with a fair degree of accuracy) what a planet will look like based on its properties in our own IRL galaxy.

For newish players needing help with Glyphs [Information]

Visit this video for a really easy guide to glyphs using traveller's in the space station. He also gives a list of portals to use as you gain more glyphs. You have to find the first 2 on your own. But, it's really fun to do. LOTS of players have used his guide so the systems you're visiting have tons of camps and some do a great job making it easy to pop back and forth. I'm having a lot of fun. I was super confused by this at first and he does a good job, in a short video, explaining the.

Can Xbox one X players see Series S players bases? [Question]

Iā€™m on a series S and my dads playing on the Xbox one X but when he goes to my base it isnā€™t there. The base terminal still shows up with a marker but that itself isnā€™t there either. Could it just be the size of the base and last gen canā€™t load it?

I really wish we can trade with the settlers living in our settlements, all having something different to offer. It would just add a little more something then just checking in on the settlements and I know we have a trade terminal there now too and a tech merchant but wouldn't it be better if you can by food items (bread, soups, and cakes) from the market as well from another person in the marketplace

Galactic Core, I've never been [Question]

Ok so when I look at my milestones the stats say I've warped 945k, yet on the galactic map it states I still have just under 400k to go.

I have the Cadmium, Indium, Emeril drives installed + a hyperdrive range upgrade installed.

I've also been abusing black holes like a MF to the point my ship is falling apart at the seams. (Joke. Yes I repair everything that breaks asap)

What am I missing? Am I doing something wrong?

All I've been doing for the past few months with this game is, warp, black hole, warp, repeat. It's taking forever!

Are there shortcuts? Did I install hyperdrives incorrectly?

*I have yet to eff with portal glyphs and honestly don't know how to use them, yet I've discovered 6 of them thus far.

Help!

Couldn't play the game at work so I spent all afternoon watching interviews with Sean... [Discussion]

I just love this game so much. And I love the community here and I love the team at Hello Games too. I only recently started playing in September but I clocked over 600 hours already and play with my kid too and for both of us it's our favourite game ever ever ever.... It sort of astounds me that it had such a rough ride at the start too... It's quite interesting seeing Sean's development as a developer too.

I'm a researcher/writer irl and I'm thinking I might do an article about HG and NMS... something about the community as my research focuses on social sciences and literature. What's your perfect planet/system and have you found it yet?

I have 60 hours in the game and am still on the search for my perfect planet/system. I want a lush/paradise planet with white grass, no sentinels, and no harsh weather in a peaceful system with Geks. PCVR Hands missing 2022 [Bug]

It seems this bug has been ongoing for the last three years and people have found several solutions (changing race, body type, gloves).

When I spawned in a new game, my hands were immediately gone. I still had the multi tool options and the left hand menu, but I couldnā€™t see my hands. For the record: I am using a Valve Index with Index controllers.

I tried the solutions, but none of them worked. Now both my hands have been lost to the void until I can find a fix. Does anyone know how to help?

Strange large group of AI ships flying into/through the ground/planet, any thoughts? [Bug]

[Expedition 5] Euclid galaxy; System Loemfor, Planet New Owle; First Observed at Coordinates +4 +44 Drop pod at location.

I first noticed a large group of ships heading straight towards the planet and flew closer to observe. When I saw a drop pod i immediately landed to retrieve but then gawked as the large cluster of ships simply descended through the ground at a glitchingly slow pace. The area of about 1000u around where the ships fly is highly dangerous, prone to firing one into the air, or randomly taking damage from what I assume to be collision with a spaceships flight path. There is an invisible collision barrier while ships are present, but the barrier is ever moving. The location of the ships entering the planet slowly drifted southward. At first they were glitching straight through the ground, but after I managed to death myself by mysterious collision damage and reload a save they decided to hover around back and forth and not fly into the planet, some occasionally running into it and turning around. The collision barrier could be ignored by simply flying my ship into the area, but then I died when I exited the ship. This went on for several reloads of saves, several different waves of ships and then it abruptly stopped sending new waves. Perhaps their flight path moved on, or they were preoccupied in other areas were players were populating the system. landing after they left when looking sideways at the ground I could cause it to clip into viewership of the stary galaxy.

Definitely a bug, I thought maybe something was underground, but clipping my head through the terrain there was nothing to see. So perhaps the trade route for the galaxy simply goes through the planet on occasional orbit?

Settlement class S [Question]

Has anyone upgraded a settlement to S Class and was able to keep it that way ? Iā€™ve had 3 separate settlements Iā€™ve raised them all to S Class but on all 3 if you continue the overseer quests youā€™ll get an outcome which lowers the Settlememt class so none of my settlements are S class anymore just wondering if this is a bug or itā€™s actually supposed to be that way ?

PSA for the pinhead trolls who build bases over portals and crashes: It takes less than three seconds for any player to immediately remove that base from existence. [Information]

I applaud the complexity of the base, the time and materials it must have taken to build it, and the assholery level required to want to do it in the first place.

I also enjoy the fact that you clearly wasted hours of your life building it, because it takes less time to get it out of my way than it does to punch in the glyphs to the portal you unsuccessfully tried to block... but then I guess "failure" is a defining feature for you, isn't it.

Keep up the good work. Looking forward to encountering and removing the next one I see.

Personal singularity seems to have reset it's growth [Bug]

I set a timer for 25 hours (how long the game said it was going to take) and came back a few minutes ago (after 23 and a half hours) to see it had 8 hours left when it should only have 1 and a half. Is there any reason it might've done this or any fix for it cause if it's going to hatch in 8 and a half hours I can't really do that without waiting a whole day as it'll hatch in the middle of the night for me (or whatever it does once it matures). I've tried restarting the game so if anyone has anything better than that I'm open to trying it.

'The Watched' Title problems [Question]

[PC] Multiplayer stuttering bug [Bug]

Hi,

When playing multiplayer with a friend in a lobby, both the friend and I experience choppy visual movement of the other player, like the person is moving at 5 fps while the person is actually moving just fine. Everything else in the game graphically works fine, the other player just appears to be stuttering. Is there a fix for this? Thanks

Exocraft Controls with a controller? [Bug]

When I am trying to use an exocraft with my controller (logitech 310) on steam the buttons to switch weapons or fire weapons does not work. Supposedly the right trigger is for firing and the y button to switch weapons but neither of those buttons do anything for me. When I switch to keyboard controls the exocraft controls fine and those buttons are fine when I do most other things in the game. Is there any work around for this issue? (I also have some controller issues in build mode but I mind those less because I can switch to keyboard and mouse while doing the relatively short amount of building I am doing)

When do expeditions usually start? [Question]

I just recently started the game but disregarded the expedition. Now that I have finished the main campaign and become really OP, I got kinda bored with the game and thought that expeditions were basically made to help that.

However, the expedition is almost over and I won't have a lot of time to play before it ends, so does anyone know when a new one usually starts so I don't have to wait that long hopefully?

Also, any suggestions to keep the game entertaining for me after doing the story are welcome!

How do you remember what youā€™ve got stored everywhere? [Question]

So Iā€™m a week or so into this game. Iā€™ve got stuff stored in my Exosuit, my Ship, two bank-vault type Storage units, a frigate and my Exocraft. But I canā€™t see whatā€™s in the storage units unless Iā€™m at my base and theyā€™re powered upā€¦. Is there a way to see all of my inventory across all storage in one place, even when Iā€™m not near them?

tips for derelict freighters? [Question]

I know I should bring along plenty of Dioxite, oxygen, sodium, carbon, and ammo, as well as being sure I have good cold protection. But I got a message about these nests wriggling, and to not move when they move, but it's hard to tell if I have to wait for the message to pop up or I just scooch veeeery slowly. There are like four of these things and it looks like when one isn't moving there's at least another jiggling around.

A Trace of Metal - Blocked after dropping Hacked Brain [Bug]

Ultrawide controls issue? [Bug]

I recently got a G9 49" monitor and now in NMS in the controls menu all the selections are pushed off to the left of the screen so I don't know what keybind is what. In order to work around i have to change the resolution, look/change keybinds, and reset back to full.

649 hours in and I'm still learning... [Information]

I don't know who needs to hear this, but always carry enough chromatic metal to place a base computer, or at least carry a save beacon on you...

I'm doing my first permadeath run and stumbled across an S grade Cadmium deposit. I found the point where it was 100% and placed my nav beacon but as I didn't have enough chromatic metal on me to place a base computer, I went searching for a deposit to mine... None around for miles, so I fly off to find some. I thought I saw some so put my ship down. It was just a load of sodium deposits, but nestled in the bottom of a valley was the biggest curious deposit spawn I've ever seen. Must be 20-30 of the beauts just sitting there waiting to be farmed!! I tagged the marker for them so I could keep track of them and carried on my search for cadmium. There was a deposit not too far, but it only contained a measly 11, so I took off in search of more...

At some point I must have started to tag something else cos the curious deposit tag was gone. Disappeared. Poof. Tried to retrace my steps, but could not for the life of me find them again.

Bloody livid.

Exobiology "Expedition Complete" Step Not Checking [Bug]

I am new to expeditions. I just collected all the rewards, including the Sentinel companion egg. However, the "expedition complete" step is not checking.

Before I launch into details, will this step complete once the expedition is over in 10 days? It is my first one, so I have no idea how it all works yet. If not, I'm worried I've soft-locked myself somehow from true completion. Is there something I am missing? I browsed the "bug" section for several minutes, and found nothing.

As for the details, I did not complete all the steps, nor accept the rewards, in order. The game is telling my to collect the final reward (the egg) but also that I have no space for it (I cleared out at least 5 slots in my inventory), plus I already did collect it. The game has also not launched into it's "normal" save state, as far as I can tell. I have no rendezvous points on my galaxy map either.

Achievements not triggering on Steam? [Question]

This is a silly thing to worry about, but the achievement screen is showing up in game, but not in Steam?

I've gotten the first language achievement to show up in Steam, but none of the others. I was just playing, didn't do anything special.

I'm playing on PC in Normal mode, and this os my first non-creative mode run.

Earth-likes don't exist. [Discussion]

I know they exist. I'm being sarcastic. I'm just very salty.

I'm encroaching on my 700th system visited with the sole goal of finding an Earth-like system. I'm visiting blue systems exclusively. I know Yellow systems have a higher chance of spawning lush planets, but Blue systems have the proper colors more often with the added benefit of having rarer resources.

But is there anything else I can do? Any sort of tricks that I'm missing? Or am I just going to have to brute-force this and keep exploring Blue systems until I finally find what I'm looking for?

You may not be able to tell me anything I don't already know (because I've researched this goal fairly extensively at this point and came across an infuriatingly small number of practices that will help me find an earth-like), but at the very least, I'd like this post to be a resource for other players who will inevitably sink hours upon hours into the game trying to achieve this same goal with nothing to show for it.

Oh, what now? [Bug]

I've been enjoying the game for a while now, despite the incessant freezing-and-crashing-every-few-minutes that I've been having (I've learned to save with every major action and extraction now), but now, I can't even play at all now. It's not even the kind of crashes I had before because, now, I can't even load into it.

I load my save, it crashes a few minutes into the starfield loading screen. I try starting a new adventure, it happens again, just slower. I've been at this for 2 hours now, and I just can't figure out what happened. I can endure having to save every 2 minutes, and crashing regardless, but now, I can't even play this amazing game

How can I build something on land that extends into the water seamlessly? [Question]

I found a system I like in Calypso, and decided l will create a base. Looked for a nearby electrical hotspot, and found one in a nearby water body so I created like a catwalk thing to it. Now I want to develop this into a fully fledged base, so I want to somehow connect underwater base parts to stuff I made from stone, although I could change the stonework into alloy parts.

A suggestion for music in nms [Suggestion]

Okay i know many other games have done this like fall out and some racing games and gta etc. But how freaking cool would it be if when you flew around in your starship you had a radio. With some old timey music? Like im listening to ā€œits been a long, long time.ā€ I feel like that would be a perfect song for flying. Has a guardian of the galaxies feel to it. I've recently decided to map each galaxy, dropping base computers along the way to give me quick access to each galaxy, but I eventually got dropped back into Eissentam [Question]

I got as far as Eltiensleen, jumped through the center of the galaxy and it brought me back to Eissentam. Is there something that prevents a player from jumping beyond a certain number of galaxies? My understanding was that there were 255 (or more) galaxies in NMS. Did this change? Did I discover a bug?

Freighter glitch [Discussion]

Playing multiplayer and when I summoned my freighter it changed from white with gold accents to yellow with blue accents. Tried re summoning it and it changed shape but kept the ugly paint job šŸ˜­ leaving multiplayer fixed this issue though, anyone else ran into this problem before?

Want to knock out the weekend "tame critters" mission in like five minutes? Here's one way [Information]

Not sure if this is common knowledge and nobody talks about it because "everyone already knows this," but just in case it isn't: Make pellets and when enough critters are nearby, fling one with the quick menu. They'll all come over to chow. Once they all have the green-circle plus icon and are gathered around you waiting to be petted, tamed, or milked, shoot your mining laser at the ground. This will startle them and they'll all start running off. This also resets their "friendly" flag, making them neutral again. Drop another pellet on the ground. The now-neutral critters will come back to feed, and the game will count them again. Repeat 2-3 until you're done.

The more critters you can get in that initial group, the quicker it'll go.

Radiant quests at the anomoly? If I wanted to play radiant quests I'd redownload skyrim.

A new story plot concept to attempt / pioneer with NMS. [Discussion]

Basically there is a giant hivemind bug that is attempting to consume every planet by using a rapidly evolving swarm of lesser creatures controlled by a strict hierarchy of mind-controlled minions (like the catholic church, but without expensive clothing, architecture, and human-like doppelgangers).

So you have an initial story of rapid destruction, death-tolls, losses, etc...until...

You meet an ancient and highly intelligent mysterious alien race, that technically doesn't need your help, but for some reason does (like a giant retailer corporation, to make a close-to-home comparison).

Then let imagination take it from there.

I dunno, thoughts? I'm just an idea guy. I'm pretty sure this hasn't been done yet.

Can't Continue 'Dreams of the Deep' [Question]

So I started the Dreams of the Deep quest, built the nautilon, and was mid way through searching for the crew (think I found one or two of them), then did something else for a bit.

But now I can't seem to continue it, there's no waypoint marker to the planet it was on, even when the mission is selected in the log. Anyone know how I can find the planet again? And would I have to land in the same area again or would it just create survivors wherever I scan?

I found a bunch of exotic planets - and I have a theory why [Discussion]

While going and looking for the Atlas seeds, I noticed the systems on the way have exotic planets. I found up to five exotic planets+moons while going to one of the Atlas interfaces I needed. I even found an entirely uncharted system. But-- The Lore Theory

At this point, Atlas is tearing the simulation apart more and more, causing exotic planets to be more abundant, and even having multiple in the same system. The Probable Explanation

I just happened to find a bunch in succession. That's it

Game keeps crashing while using multitool to scan [PC] [Question]

Hey guys, I've had a problem lately where my game keeps crashing while using my scanner. It happens while just using the scanner, and not actively scanning critters/plants. It doesn't happen all the time, very sporadic, on both single player and multiplayer. I've also changed the graphics to be as low as possible to see if that would make a difference, and nope. Still crashes. Also, it does not crash any other time, only while scanning. Anyone have a similar problem or know of a fix? I have looked around and haven't found much of anything.

Can't warp to center of Eltiensleen galaxy to reach Eissentam [Question]

I'm trying to warp to the center of center of Eltiensleen so I can get to Eissentam but a path doesn't show up. It just sits there on "galactic core" and no path points me to the center. I've warped through 6 different galaxies so far and have had no problem with those. I have all three warp drives installed, my hyperdrive range is 561, hyperdrive is fully charged. I've switched ships twice and still nothing works. I'm able to warp in general, so that part of the game is working. I'm wondering if this is a bug or if my hyperdrive isn't enough to get me there? Is getting to Eissentam harder than the other galaxies?

I should also note that I'm not following a specific path or storyline, I entered glyphs as shortcuts to get to each one.

This is what I see. I have "galactic core" selected buy no path shows up when I move my mouse.

Biome-changing planets after using a portal? [Question]

Okay, so I'm working my way through the Artemis path in my first attempt at the game.

After going through a portal the first time, I appeared on a world that had floating glitched separators (took a few home to my base!).

Well the next time I came back to that system, the planet I had originally teleported to was an ice planet.

Is that normal for the planet you arrive on after a portal jump to change biomes for the purposes of the main quest or something?

The follow-up story to this gets even more fun: the next portal I went through in the 16/16 part of the quest, I again came out on an exotic planet of some sort. After finding my ship, I got in and out, but had to turn the game off before I repaired the launch thruster.

When I turned the game back on, the planet was totally different (highly toxic planet). And I guess due to the entire planet shape shifting, my ship was now underground, about 20m under where you could no longer mine down.

And since I hadn't repaired the launch thrusters before restarting the game, I couldn't summon the ship.

Wound up getting out of the pickle by building a base computer and a teleporter and going to a space station so the ship appeared with me in the hangar.

How to get a void egg to begin a living ship quest? [Question]

I've read some posts watched videos and the only way to start it is by buying it for quicksilver. I would farm it and even be glad about but there is no void egg available to buy. Could anyone tell me another way to obtain it or be kind enough supply one? Thanks in advance :)

Where to find exotic ships since sentinel update? [Question]

Hey folks,

I just was about to get an exotic ship. More specific: a blue-golden swordfish. All the subreddits and YouTube vids I browsed seem to be outdated, as I travelled a couple of locations an didn't find any exotic ship.

[ Xbox One] Stuck inside a portal. Am I boned? [Bug]

Been deleting bases I havenā€™t touched in years. Teleported to one that was near a portal and at some point it shifted and I spawned inside the portal. Now I canā€™t get out, canā€™t summon a ship, nothing.

Little things that would improve QOL [Suggestion]

  • Being able to remove the base photon cannon from a ship. Some of the expedition ships teased this by giving us ships without photon cannons.

  • Being able to name your saves.

  • Being able to re-color all pets.

  • Being able to re-color your upgraded Minotaur. Or at least have the new blue parts follow the color scheme of the Minotaur underneath.

  • Being able to press a single button and having a refined product sent back to the input bin to refine again rather than needing to manually drag it.

  • Being able to milk/harvest or ride a pet/fauna with a single button instead of needing to navigate a menu. Could do this before the Pet update and it made interacting with fed fauna less cumbersome than it is now.

  • Being able to properly upgrade the inventory of a Living Ship instead of relying on a freighter upgrade exploit unknown to most players which also is unavailable once you max out your freighter's inventory.

  • Lowering the frequency of asteroids.

  • Widening the space station landing pad area so ship wings don't clip into the station walls.

Suggestions?

Expand base mission question [Question]

I have been doing the expand the base mission, I went back to my base computer, where I have started building and it said I need to go to my base. I have added another base computer,(newer) that is used only as a marker, I don't want this for building anything. I could only continue with the most recent base computer. Is there away to continue with any base computer, or does it always use the newest base computer location?

Freighter base [Question]

So. I built a great freighter base a while back and it had alloy base part walls. Now I can't free build any wood/alloy/stone base walls or doors. I just get base out of range and it won't place the part. I've tried glitching them in but they place at weird angles and won't snap together.

Anybody come across this and managed to do it?

btw... I can build these parts on an upper level, just not on the first level (wtf HG?). I them on the first level as I deleted the existing walls and need to replace them. Just the usual love/hate relationship with NMS I guess.

Crashing when using nautilus? [Bug]

After collecting the salt, and what not, I build the nautilus jump in, make fuel, and the game keeps crashing. First time I lost all my efforts to collect the goods, this time I was smart enough to go back to my ship first, but its now crashed twice in this scenario. Anything I can do to stop it? Maybe change worlds and try in another location?

Is there an S class ship with the same model as the starting ship? [Question]

2 days ago I found out about Pechnos Inertial Puncher, which is an S class experimental multi-tool with a nearly identical model to the starting multi-tool. After getting it now I want an S class ship with the same model as the starting ship so has anyone found one and if so what are the portal coordinates?

Also I've only been to Euclid, Hilbert, Calypso, and Eissentam and I don't want all my stuff to get damaged again, so preferably in one of those galaxies, if not then only 1 warp away.

Did I finish the Atlas Path? [Question]

Spoilers here for the Atlas Path but I've tried looking this up and I just need to ask.

I did several of the Atlas stations on the Atlas Path mission and I "might" have finished it? But the Atlas Path mission is still pinned on my Log menu as if there's still more to do.

I went to several of them and got to the stage where I made the Heart of the Sun. Since I had other more interesting quests to do I decided to leave the Atlas Path cuz I thought it was just an endless loop of go here, get this recipe, make this Atlas Seed, rinse and repeat.

But maybe I was supposed to do something with the Heart of the Sun? Problem is now if I go to Nada or Polo to ask for either a route to the next Atlas station or even a Black Hole they both just tell me they're happy and my only option is to leave.

I read on the wiki that sometimes if you finish the Atlas Path it doesn't actually go away so is that my situation? Or was I supposed to put the Heart of the Sun somewhere?

Someone on here posted an image from inside an Atlas station of a Korvax a Gek and a V'Keen suspended high on the back wall of the station as if that was some final scene. I definitely never saw that.

What am I missing here?

My settlement rejected me and sort of reset. [Question]

I returned to my settlement today after obtaining some construction materials to find that I could not interact with the overseer terminal or construction terminal. When I checked the central tower, the population happiness and productivity reset along with the "settlement features" (good and bad bonuses). Now it says I need convergence cubes to become overseer. Has this happened to anyone else? If I pay the fee will I need to build another overseer office and redo all the grinding?

a trace of metal outpost bug [Bug]

Am I an ass for thinking the building system in nms needs a major upgrade? [Discussion]

I'm use to playing with build snd prop systems like Warframe and it's Dojo or Orbiter decoration system. Being able to place props in the air with ease, able to rotate every prop, being able to resize every prop, and some other mechanics. Ofcourse things like placing a unfunded prop would be odd since this game is no resources no placement, but you instantly place the prop which is nice, wish DE had done that with warframe xp Besides that props have issues clipping together and you have no option to turn thst off when you need it off. You also have to be careful with making big builds, as if a "cieling" isn't detected for 2 floors it will count as open space and let weather in. Lastly small gripes but we need more props to use, more building pieces to mess with and an upgrade to lights, most suuuuuck. I don't hate no mans sky but I play and mess with stuff going in with low expectations, because this game will dissapoint me if I expect it to do more, that being said I wish it did more. I do t have nms or the community, I just wish things were better ( and hell even the featured builds thing is practically abandoned In this game, but seeing old beta footage again of nms, roaming herds of mobs and diplos that dont look like trash, even combat being more interesting interesting than it is now, I'm starting to remember how much and how little this game has recovered and grown ). Again though I still like the game but I don't set the bar high for what it is bc it's not gonna get there.

I really donā€™t wanna build. My friends are getting into this game and we really just wanna fly around, shoot things, do missions in the anomaly and whatever else we want. We really donā€™t wanna build. The tutorial is the biggest interest killer ever. My friend literally left because he was about to fall asleep.

I keep telling them it gets better, but like this I canā€™t blame anyone. If the good content is locked behind hours of boring grinding I canā€™t blame them for not wanting to play. Is there anything that can be done?

Xbox X failed to connect to network!!? [Question]

Hey guys, I played NMS on PS4 since it came out until early last year, I rarely had any issues and never had any connection issues...after getting an Xbox X I got back into it but over the last week the game never connects to the network, being offline seems to effect base uploading etc and just an overall annoyance.

After a hunt on the internet it seems like this has been an Xbox issue for a few years now, yet no concrete fix! I tried one fix, changing my Microsoft password and surprisingly it did work...until this morning! After changing my password yesterday I played all day connected to the internet, however switched on this morning to the same issue! I cannot change my password everytime I wish to play....any ideas would he much appreciated

Oxalis started out as a solo civilization and is currently a company called Oxalis Hotels. It is possible to create a civilization all by yourself and to lead it through time.

For founders of a civilized space zone it is recommended to open an embassy page in the wiki. The NMS Fandom Wiki, formerly Gamepedia, has been instrumental in the development of civilized space and has continued to refine and expand the foundations over the years.

Of course there are many civilizations that are independent of the wiki and have no embassy page. That doesn't make them any less valuable. They are also part of this wonderful community.

Nevertheless, the wiki has many advantages, which should not be underestimated for role players. Each civilization or company with an embassypage is listed on an image map that is regularly updated. Oxalis has been developing and designing the maps since the beginning of civilized space.

Furthermore, there is the possibility to be officially recognized on the civilized space page. The requirements for this are demanding but not too high. These help highlight committed civilizations and provide them with a separate platform for presentation....

Massive performance drop in VR after PC repair [Discussion]

I've had my PC out for repairs because of BSOD errors since early February and had it returned just last week. Before this, I was able to play No Man's Sky in VR without any problems. One of the things the repair guy did was to roll back the video card drivers because he thought my GPU was giving off too much heat. But since then, I'm finding VR video performance in No Man's Sky so bad that the game is virtually unplayable. In addition, despite having the graphic settings at the lowest level, there seems to have been a number of graphical enhancements since I last played the game in early February. This gets me wondering, is the drop in graphical performance a result of the video drivers or was there an update around February-March that might be increasing the demand on the graphics card?

Boltcaster discussion: Is it worse now? [Discussion]

I used to main the boltcaster prior to the Sentinel update. After the Sentinel update it feels like the weapon's been nerfed and the visual cues it had are gone. You don't really see your shots travel anymore and instead only mainly see them at their destination.

So what are the bonuses I want to focus on now to get the most out of the boltcaster? I'm guessing it's going to really need the Sentinel multitool upgrade bonuses.

And yes, I already know that the Pulse Spitter is the best weapon and I should just use that. I like variety in my weapons, and I think they kind of overpowered the spitter now.

Can I delete a multitool ? [Question]

I acquired one early on in the latest community expedition, but got a couple more since (they look a bit exotic, one is the yellow dewdrop shape, the other looks like an old chewed up piece of bone at the front with the main body looking similar) and upgraded them to the max.

That leaves the rubbish one in my inventory, can you delete them without resorting to editing a save file ?

X Class starships [Suggestion]

I sent the idea below in to zendesk for X class starships and salvage workshops, so I thought I'd post it here to see what you all think!

X Class starships would come in any of the mechanical ship types, and like X class modules, be anywhere from below C class bonuses to better than S class. They would be driven by a new building in settlements called the salvage workshop, and have a unique appearance but based on the existing parts (more below...)

First, salvage workshops - these would primarily be for creating X class ships. Once built, if the player provides a selection of materials - mainly salvaged ship parts gained from scrapping as a requisite, but possibly topped up with technology parts or other materials, the salvage workshop will create a ship over a timeframe (e.g. 24 hours). The ship will be a random type according to the probability of the system species and economy type (so exotics will always be rarely created, and the species influences the likelihood of the specialist types). The value of the ship will be linked to the value of materials and salvage provided, in a random ratio anywhere between 1:1 and 1:2. As secondary functions, salvage workshops would also have scrap merchants and a starship upgrade/scrapping terminal as found in space stations.

Each X class starship created will have a core cockpit chosen at random from one of the styles available for that type, but then wings, nose, fins, thrusters etc will all be picked from any of the other types' pools. This will create patched together looking ships with odd and unusual combinations, some very nice but others definitely not. Think a flying shuttle brick with 7 fin and asymmetrical explorer wings, or an exotic ball cockpit with large hauler turbo engine wings for example.

This would create a whole lot of new looks for ship hunters, more opportunities for min maxing, a new function for settlements, and a new...

Oddity with a solar system [Question]

First off it should be noted, My Memory isn't great, as with a lotta ADhD people. Still I remember what I like, and I liked this whole solar system.

All the planets had some kind of altered reality, and the one I had set up my home on had been stripped of all life, and had little other dimensional creatures and a hexagon moon. Now its all different. A irradiated moon, my new base is gone and the planet just seems empty and boring now. Totally different descriptions but same name.

Is this common?

So The Purge has started and I know that this will eventually get me to the point where I travel to the next galaxy. I also know you can refuse and stay in Euclid. That's the extent of my knowledge. Can you travel back and forth between galaxies or do you just lose everything you have in Euclid? Ships, items, etc... Please don't spill too much. Sentinels in Survival Mode [Question]

I started new game on Survival Mode. Im not very experienced NMS player, but I like the challenge it provides. Besides planets seems a bit more... raw and realistic, which I like way more than worlds full of life everywhere. So I died few times, repaired the ship and went off the planet. Got shot down by a gang of fugitives, repaired the ship and went off again. Got to the second planet in the starting story, tracking a signal. The minute I landed I got surrounded by aggressive sentinels. How do I deal with this? Im at the start of the story.. I dont even have terrain manipulator yet. I haven't built one wall. I cant really hide from them, can I? I went back to the ship and flew bit further. Same story. Instantly surrounded. Can I fight them with the starting equipment that I have? Or should I just abandon this story altogether and hope that I learn everything by myself somewhere?

Atlas reset - unanswered questions [Question]

I realize there's a post about this, but it's 2+ years old, and there are questions that weren't asked, so here I am.

I understand that if we reset, we keep our current ship, and everything NOT in the Technology slots will be damaged, correct? is it damaged forever, or can be fixed? Is this for both spaceship and exosuit?

Is it only the current space ship that goes with us? if not, I assume I wanna scrap the other ships for $ before resetting.

If I have base(s) in Euclid, will I be able to teleport to them from the new galaxy? basically, teleport back and forth between the new galaxy and Euclid. Or will I lose all my bases and materials I have stored in containers

If we select, say, a Lush galaxy - will there be no frozen or scorching worlds? or just most worlds will be "peaceful".

Why reset and switch galaxies? more missions? unseen creatures / life forms? It's sounding like resetting the simulation, will toss you into a new galaxy where you almost start from 0 (keeping spaceship, multi tool). What is the real benefit of starting anew, basically?

Expedition 4 rewards not unlocked? Is there a fix for this? [Bug]

As on the tin. Had the 'rona over Xmas and the expedition replays were a great focus as I missed them the first time around.

I'm working through expedition 5 right now, went to pick up my golden vector and...

My expedition 4 rewards are "Not yet earned". I DEFINITELY DID THEM. Expedition 4 was annoying as heck. I even remember diligently unlocking each phase's rewards and the final ones to ensure I got them.

No Matchmaking Series X Issue update? [Bug]

Has anyone had any success in fixing this yet?

I recently caught the bug.

  1. Tried reloading in Space Station

  2. Reloading in Anomaly

  3. Deleting local data

  4. Deleting the game

4a) Oddly enough, I tried cloud play (which are played on series Xs), I could make matches. After two days of cloud play, I was asked if I wanted to download the game. ā€œSure, why not. Itā€™s probably good now; right?ā€ WRONG.

Still no match making.

Securing a base location... To upload or not to upload... [Question]

This question keeps coming up in various posts, in drips and drabs. I'm wondering if we can come together to nail down how to secure your base location to the best of our ability.

Basically, what is the difference between claiming a site for your base, and/or uploading it?

Assuming I have all PVP and base modification settings set to off. Assuming no one accidentally claims a site at the same time as me (or within whatever the server data replication timing is). Assuming no one is trying to be an a$$.

Claiming a base location (Assumptions): I claim a site WITHOUT uploading it. I can then expect that no one else will be able to build within 300u, and it will not be visible to them.

I claim a site AND upload it. I can then expect that no one else will build within 300u, and it will be visible to them.

Scenarios:

I believe those two assumptions are important because of the following scenarios: I want to place a base in a specific location, say over an EMP field, and not have anyone else build on top of it. Do I upload it or not? I want to create a mining base where my friends can come and acquire resources whether I am online or not, without anyone else seeing it. I want to share out my base to everyone because I am proud of the work I put into it and how it looks. I want to share out my base so it can help passers by...

Are my two original assumptions correct?

Am I screwed? [Question]

When I was playing some months ago, I didn't have the intention of leaving Euclid. Now, however, I'm wanting to make it to a Lush galaxy. The only problem here is that I already selected "Refuse the Atlas" instead of "Reset Simulation."

Am I unable to undo that decision so that I can get to the galaxy choice? There's no way I'll ever travel to the center of every galaxy until I make it to a Lush galaxy.

Useable Frigates [Suggestion]

I was just thinking that it would be really nice if there was a new combat update to the game. Specifically if you could pilot your own freighter, maybe in the kind of way that Star Trek online does. You have a task bar and the ability to target enemies and select which weapons you fire at what, and have an overview of your hull and shield strength as well. Also would be great to be able to destroy large sentinel capital ships. Or whatever really comes your way. Would make being a pirate a lot more interesting as well.

The ability to be able to control your fleet and pilot a large battlecruiser in a space battle (even if its just a top down grid map of the solar system) would make things a lot more interesting, and make having a large fleet a lot more meaningful.

Quests Disappeared [Question]

I spent a lot of time in NMS ignoring the main quests but I've gotten up to finishing ghost in the machine and was doing both paths. At some point I don't know when the quests just disappeared, they aren't in my log and the artemis and atlas paths are just gone. I tried talking to Nada again and nothing happened. The things I did in between quests was I had found a portal for a friend and I used a black hole. I'm not sure how to fix this I'd like to do the main quest any help would be apreciated most of the fixes I've found involved downloading a save editor which I don't wanna have to do.

Exocraft - Extremely slow since updates [Question]

Jumped on No Man's Sky after about 3 years of not playing.

Me and a friend used to really smash out racing on No Man's Sky. I know it isn't a popular feature, but it provided us with countless hours of fun.

Since reinstalling, I'm shocked to see how slow the Nomad is. Looking back at old videos, it's crazy how slow it is now in comparison.

Question - if you upgrade to all S tech for boost and acceleration, will it ever be as fast as it used to be on the pre-updated base game?

First they changed the race checkpoints from green orbs (really easy to see and know where you can clip them to save time in a timed run) to shutter blind looking things, to now having an exocraft which is essentially useless in terms of speed!

Deleting Multitools [Question]

I got a fully upgraded rank S multitool today. I ended up with two other multitools in my collection, and I'd really like to get rid of them, so that I only have the rank S one. Unfortunately, I know there's currently no way to do that in the game itself.

I've read that it's possible to do this using a save editing tool. Just wanted to check - how much of a risk would I be putting myself for potentially screwing up my save file or getting banned from the game or something if I used that? I would only use it to delete those two other multitools. I know having them there doesn't affect me in any meaningful way, but it bugs me.

A more in depth Anomaly experience in multiplayer. [Discussion]

I think the anomaly is nice for player interaction but I feel it could be 10x better with a few things added.

The ability to promxity voice chat or at least allow console players to text chat. I think it would open communication between players and make it a more memorable experience for players to chill there.

Adding a player based NMS market place / trade inside the anomaly. Iā€™m talking about everything.

One thing we commonly experience is players gifting things to each other, which is usually a good thing unless the player doesnā€™t want it.

What if there was an entire trade system where players can put things for sell and request a payment anyway they want? For example, I can sell 9,999 carbon and request nanites, a resource, pet, quicksilverā€¦literally anything, or even make it free where itā€™s first come first serve for that trade item.

Players can even put spaceships on the market and request payment that way. A player could literally be a spaceship salesman or even sell a frigate if they wanted.

The ability to create regiments / clans in NMS between players. Clans can create their banner, location in the galaxies, make 1 system their home and so on. The clan is made in the anomaly and a player would be able to see the information on a playerā€™s clan; number of players, system owned, and maybe the ability to request to join, which would be sent to the leader and or leaders of that clan.

Adding a storage container on the anomaly. This storage is more for the multiplayer experience. The storage can be shared between the clan, group, friends or however the player chooses.

Any other ideas? Anyone else think this is a good idea or am I doing too much? Lol

TLDR: Make anomaly more interactive between players with a player market place, text chat on console and maybe the introduction of clans / regiments.

I really messed up (I think) [Question]

I am replaying the game on the ps5 version after taking a 2 year long break and as I am enjoying the calm game this is I get to around the point in the game where you get to your first black hole and I go to a space station before I go into the black hole and go to the trading station and when I go to my ships inventory to sell a item I find a stack of 5 item with all five equaling 250 million (in this point of the game I havenā€™t even made more than 2 million) and I sell it because itā€™s not important and purely for trading and now Iā€™m rich out of my mind but I donā€™t know how I got so much money someone please explain what just happened

I'm on a personal quest to build great multi tools, what are some mods to consider? Should I keep a tool for daily use and one for fighting? [Question]

The idea of two multitools is nice because I get to quickly swap between mining/terrain mode with the everyday one without having to go through the weapons, plus I get to dedicate all the mod slots to that purpose.

Parts of my base disappeared [Bug]

I just got back into the game after around 1 year. I loaded into an old base of mine that the updates havenā€™t been kind to. The whole ting suddenly was like 15 meters above ground. Some parts where disconnected. So I decided to rebuild that whole thing. I scrapped everything I could see and deleted the base with my base computer to be save. Then I build a new base computer and started a new base. I used the legacy concrete parts to build a base and installed things like a portal etc. when I logged back into the game some lights where gone but I thought I hab just forgotten to save them. Then I left the planet and did some exploration. When I came back without logging in or out the only thing left of my base was the shell (the concrete parts) the doors where gone, so was the portal, the batteries, the solar panels, the antimatter reactor etc. Can someone tell me what the hell happened?

Increase players owned ship limit to 12 Accomplish this simply by adding a flight bay behind the current one in the Players owned freighter so only once a player acquires a freighter will the increase take effect this also would not affect players current freighter builds because u canā€™t build below the command deck anyway

then add a ship customization station to the new players flight bay with 12 flight pads for all 12 ships

A new Living ship customization tab Where u can now add inventory slots ( without the freighter cargo bulkhead method ) and also the ability to change all things eventually color,add / remove armor plating , triple single thruster and best of all color scheme

Unlock the ability to customize a player owned starships but with a catch the way only way to unlock a new color scheme for your ship u need to find your exact same ship but in a different color and buy that color scheme from the pilot flying it that way you still have to grind for ships the way the game intended

Add 2 new exocraft types all for an expanded deep water system a space waverunner and speed boat , and new luxury space yacht ( floating mobile new player base ) with landing pad of course several variations for these new additions

Upgrading old Sandy Bridge CPU (I know!) to one with hyperthreading fixed my stutters... [Suggestion]

TL;DR - For those of us experiencing stutter problems on old systems like the 2500k, moving to a cheap drop-in replacement with hyperthreading like the 2600k may help. It eliminated my stuttering completely, with all other variables pretty much the same.

Hey so its been mentioned before by people that disabling HT can actually help raise FPS. I'm not familiar with this experience and I certainly don't discount it, but i'm gunna argue the change is irrelevant in this case for the following reasons...

Sandy Bridge is an OLD CPU architecture. My PC is OLD. I get that I should build a new one, I get that expecting cutting edge (or even decent?) performance is a tall order, but for reasons I wont bore you all with its what i'm stuck with for the time being.

For those who don't know, the 2500k is a 4 core non-hyperthreaded overclocking demon circa 2011. A fantastic CPU for the time, there are many people who still run these things clocked up the wazoo. I ran mine for the last few years at a nice and stable 4.5GHz on a real crappy Arctic Freezer Pro 7. To complement this I have a GTX 980Ti and 16gb of DDR3 1600 (Try to think of my work room as a kind of 'museum of the 2010s')

At 4.5GHz the system ran the games I enjoy pretty well. Games like IL-2 BoS, Subnautica, Kerbal Space Program, Elite Dangerous, and Fallout. Whats more is that my PC is happy to run these titles at triple-head 1080 - so around 5960x1080 i think? If more FPS is needed I just throttle back to a single 1080 monitor.

Okay, so in comes No Mans Sky. Absolutely love the game, so beautiful, but I was unable to enjoy all the beauty because of the constant stuttering. On planets, or at the nexus, the stuttering was pretty damn crazy - and i've read plenty of reports of the same. I still played, because things like the expeditions were a lot of fun, but...

Why hasn't Sean Murray made an update that is about more ship classes and types? [Discussion]

New to the game: how do I make a second Minotaur? [Question]

Iā€™ve got about 23hours logged and finally decided I wanted to make my first exocraft. I made a Minotaur geobay which automatically spawned one for me. I wanted to make a second one - one will be my primary and the other will be my AI. However, it wonā€™t let me make another geobay at my base and when I made one at another base it only lets me call the one I made already. How do I rectify this? Iā€™ve heard players can have up to 5 Minotaurs per planet but I canā€™t even figure out how to make a 2nd.

I've been getting more into base building. Which I'm not half bad at. But then I just stare at the inside of the empty shell, unknowing on what to put where, or how to fill empty space. What did I do? Only have up to Photic Jade Atlas seed, still 700k+ ly from galactic center, but was offered choice of buttons for resetting the simulation, and am now in Budullangr [Question]

So I thought the only way to change galaxies was to reach the center of the galaxy or to complete the Atlas, i don't think I finished the Atlas Path, but I did notice the x/16 counter increment every time I warped regardless of whether I visited the Atlas station in that system. On the 16/16 system, I did go to the Atlas station and was offered the option to reset the simulation along with 4 different colored buttons to push.

Is this right and I'm just misunderstanding how you leave Euclid the first time, or did I bug the Atlas or Artemis quests somehow?

Any way to skip suit initialization when starting a new permadeath save? (PS4) [Question]

Wanting to start a permadeath save, however when you first load in the exosuit goes through itā€™s boot up sequence while your suit is still sponging up elemental damage. This leaves you with little to no time to either find some sodium or a cave.

Is there a way to skip this initialization sequence and go straight to trying to find resources/a cave?

Is the Coordinate Exchange Useless? [Question]

Every time I go to the official coordinate exchange website (nmsce.com not the exchange on Reddit) and I use the coordinates I find there to try to get something, it's never right. The only thing I've received that was where the exchange said it would be is my current freighter. Everything else seems to be wrong. Does Hello Games change the locations of multitools and ships periodically or are the coordinates PC specific (changing for me as a PS4 gamer) or am I just doing something wrong?

(And yes friends, I am checking the galaxy to make sure that it lines up with where I am.)

Finding a ship from my collection (New to the game) [Question]

Bit of a noob, I started only a day ago and just unlocked the space anomaly for a reference of where I'm at.

Anyway, I just want to ask how to find a crashed ship from my collection, that I haven't repaired yet so I can't summon it. I left the planet it was on and forgot to place a marker. I came back and can't find it.

Xbox series S frame rate [Question]

So is it possible to get the frame rate at least consistent ? Iā€™d obviously prefer 60 FPS but I can deal with a solid thirty. Iā€™ve wanted to play this game since itā€™s gotten itā€™s overhaul but itā€™s very very inconsistent with frames. Anyone have any fixes?

My mining setup seems to work, but doesn't actually mine anything [Question]

In the pictures I show how my excavators seem to work, how my depots seemingly receive materials and how my power isn't depleted. I'm using electromagnetic harvesters with an addition of batteries just because I like having a battery near the excavator to quickly check the electricity status since the excavator are very far from the electricity harvest.

The problem is mostly self explanatory but TL;DR my excavator allegedly work, but I'm not receiving anything.

Can we please have a clearer stat display on weapon modules? [Discussion]

As many of you may be aware, the stats on upgrade modules are displayed as percentages. But those percentages aren't actually representative of the actual bonus they give.

It would be nice if Hello Games would change the percentage system into a more clearer rounded numbers with bars showcasing the boost they give. This way we could much easier compare different modules stats without having to repeatedly hover over them to confirm which one gives the most bonus.

Down here you can see two examples. The first showcases the current stat system and the second one a concept of stat display I had in mind. Tell me which is easier/faster to read.

Iā€™m lost and looking for any advice [Information]

I have battled the Sentinelā€™s and came across a map to find the Pillars and deactivated the Sentinelā€™s. Greatā€¦. I build a portal and decided to remodel my base so I leave and COME BACK TO SENTINELS THAT I DEACTIVATED How do I rid these suckers so I can salvage the minerals from this planet . Do I have to fight and get the Brains of the last Sentinels to rid or ā€¦.Iā€™m lost and a lil bit upset because I have been found losing with armor up and geology cannon I want to get the OP Geology cannon but still searching Can anyone help a Brotha out

HELP - Super glitchy 16/24 sided circular building [Question]

I was following this tutorial, and was trying to build a 16 sided building, but I think this is a 24-sided circular building. Either way, it is super glitchy!! Just standing still, all the floor pieces try to be displayed as they lay on top of one another. The effect is awful. The materials I have seen used in this and other videos (like Beeblebum's videos) have changed in appearance since those videos were first made. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Should I be using stone instead of wood? Should I be using 16 instead of 24? Do I just suck at building circular buildings? LOL

In search of... [Question]

I am specifically looking for a planet that has the following criteraia: Extreme Weather (of any kind) for Storm Crystals Very flat, and mostly unobstructed terrain

Farming Storm Crystals is kind of a PITA when you are constantly bumping into obstructions (giant trees/rocks) and/or mountainous terrain.

New to the game [Question]

Curiousā€¦ Iā€™m newer to the game but just ran into this situation for the first time. I needed to leave planet while smelting my runaway mould in my medium refinerā€¦ to my surprise when I returned everything was gone (no mould or nanites) so im just curious is it since I left planet or?
