Class/Rarity Change On New Warp-ins For Freighters, Anyone Notice? [Discussion]
Something I noticed when cruising around a 3-star systems (was lookin' for Korvax freighter S-class) was that, several times, if you move away from purchasable/land-able freighters a good distance (maybe 5~7 seconds on pulse drive) then "new" fleets spawn in. This isn't news, but what is is this: they are the same models/names/etc. as the ones you just flew from. What's more: their rarity/class is different.
I tried this many times. I remember, specifically, one of the freighters had the name "MV-7 Makishiv." Each time I landed on it I viewed it with my scanner. At first, I had found it as an A-class. Fly away, it showed up after the 2nd/3rd warp-in group, and sure enough, that time it was a B-class. Few more times, C-class, back to A-class, and so on.
This got me thinking about the regular "S-class finding method." Turns out, you don't need to. Warp to a place that has a sick/cool/wanted freighter hull? Fly around until it shows back up in a "new warp" and hop into it, leave if it's not S-class, and move on.
It's worth noting I have, indeed, found S-classes using this method, just not the "model" I wanted.
It seems each system has 3~4 types or models for freighters, so hit up a system, find them all, then cruise around.
TL;DRāwarp into system (3-star, preferably) > observe different fleets > find freighter model you like > if not S-class, pulse drive for roughly 5-7 seconds > keep boosting until a new "group" of freighters is hanging out/spawning in > approach > "old" fleets you already found will warp in, with the recruitable/purchasable freighter being randomized > rinse and repeat until the model you want is S-class // takes about the same time as the 3 hr/5-warp method.
