No damaged tech after black hole jump [Question]

I recently traveled to the galactic core and jumped through several black holes but some of them didnt damage anything on my ship while others damaged random tech on my ships inventory

Is this supposed to happen? The wiki doesnt say anything like that

I used an exotic with 3 s class hyperdrive upgrades if that matters

How long does it usually take for crossplay to be enabled again? [Question]

I use steam and my friends use the PC version of the game pass and we can't join each other after the recent update. How long does it normally take for crossplay to be available again after an update?

Edit: To clarify, in the friends menu, my steam friends have the option, 'Press E to invite', but crossplay friends don't have this option.

The final broadcast original No man's sky story RP plot (looking for help) [Fan Work]

I am running my first NMS story plot called the Final broadcast. I can't share much details about it as it resolves around mystery and spooky themes aside from that it will be delivered via in game, discord and YouTube interaction.

I am looking for people to help with some of the plot bases but more importantly I am looking for someone to help play a character for the in game segments.

No base images in teleport catalogue [Question]

I am not able to see any of my base photos in the teleporter catalogue. This has been a very long standing issues, sometimes working, most times not. It hasn't worked in ages recently.

Is this a problem with the game, or is it a problem with my console (PS4)?

So, the game says I discovered something that was already discovered by my friend... Hlp Plz? [Bug]

BLUF: If I delete my save, will those things that I discovered also remove me as the one who discovered them? (It being a new save, I have no problem with this action)

For some reason, the system and some of the animals on my friend's planet say that they are discovered by me even though he already discovered them awhile ago. He invited me because he wanted to show me his new settlement he's been working on and the world its on (This is a new one of my saves btw).

So I went into his world, and started scanning things that he'd said he'd already scanned. But later he text me back saying for some reason it says I've discovered them now instead of him, and he's pretty bummed out about it (in our home systems, we like to be the ones who've discovered everything in it, that helps it truly be our's)(plus you can name things you've discovered, he can't do that anymore)

How to get to new galaxy? [Question]

Do I have to filter by galactic core in the galaxy map to get to another galaxy? If so, whenever I warp the route changes and it feels like it would take hundreds of hours to get to the middle of the galaxy. And yes I've already completed the Atlas.

Starship Max Inventory Confusing and Conflicting Information; what's the real deal? [Question]

Ok, the information regarding answering this precisely is all over the place.

First the wiki tells you that ships have hidden "different sizes" regarding the max possible maxed out inventory space and only are 'viewable' in-game by figuring out the class's extra models stuck on the ship. For example the Fighter, has extra cargo pod things along the nose denoting it is a "large".

OK, fine.

I also understand that when you do find one of these (still staying with fighter for the moment) Large Fighters, the most possible inventory it can have when you get it, is 38/12.

Then I run across a two-year old post, claiming that none of that matters per ship-type as any type can have a max of 48/12. Yet when I stare at my "Small Explorer" which is S-Class, it can only have a max of 25/7.

When I examine Exotics, which are already S-Class, their boundary for max inventory is significantly smaller than 48/12.

So what is going on here exactly?

Sure wish stuff like this was simpler and actually in-game.

NMS not using dedicated GPU [Bug]

I bought this game a few days ago and it was stuck in a loading screen. I noticed that my dedicated GPU was at 0% usage and my integrated was at a 100%. I tried setting nms to use my nvidia gpu through windows settings and nvidia control panel but it did nothing. I also found an old reddit thread with a regedit fix, did it, afaik it changed nothing. Apart from a few old posts there's very little on this issue online. Has anyone had this issue, if so how did you fix it?

How do I find out in what system a certain starbase is? [Question]

I have an orientation problem, but maybe I missed something? I am quite new to the game.

I want to re-visit a certain planet with cadmium in a system I visited some days ago. Now I do find the system under "Discoveries" and want to teleport there via teleporter on a starbase, but the teleporter only shows me the names of the starbases, not the names of the systems where the star bases are located in. How do I get to my planet in the distant system?

The next thing I tried was to set a waypoint to the system and warp there. On the map, the route ends somewhere, but not in the selected system.

What am I doing wrong?

How to spot out furthermost stars I already visited in portal menu? [Question]

Hello!

So, I often struggle with the problem of traveling to the galaxy center, then forgetting the name of the last system I visited and than I don't know which one was the most far one - when I want to teleport back there (after visiting my home base for example).

Are there any ways how to spot this out easily?

I know I could always rename the galaxy or plant a new base here - but when I forget, I am uttery lost and it just seems really wierd that there is no obvious tracker in the game. Or is there one?

Stupid encrypted data in nanite mission from the anomaly [Bug]

Had to find a stranded traveller and then look for encrypted data for a terminal or something in those buried tech modules and i did that 14 times and it said "corrupted unable to locate decryption terminal " somethung along those lines, i dont fucking know why i just give up

So in my trade route I had a mercantile system with Sell 79% and -29% on buy, but I noticed the Sell is now 49%.

Settlement Construction Terminal Bug [Bug]

Update didn’t seem to help. Once beginning construction on any sized “dwelling” at the settlement, the construction area will spawn but with no terminal in order to input building resources. It then remains indefinitely with no way to remove it or progress further in the build process. I have moved my settlement multiple times as a result of this and it’s still not patched.

Patterns in time not working [Question]

Whenever i talk to the korvax cartographer the mission tick box does not get ticked and there is a marker to a crash site with the objective disappearing as soon as i land. I have tried to use the analysis visor and nothing shows up on target sweep. Please send help.

Suggestions for settlements [Suggestion]

Ok I’m not going to make this very long because I don’t like reading those extremely long posts and I know there is probably people who don’t either.

Ok so, settlement colonies, after you upgrade your settlement and build all the buildings, you can send out a few people to make a new settlement on the same planet that is basically just like a colony. Similar to when in real life history, countries sent a few ships full of people to the New World to set up colonies. There would probably be more to them but this is all I can think of right now.

Reloading Auto Save Made Me Lose All Storage Upgrades on Exotic Ship [Bug]

As the title says, I was in the process of ship flipping to get storage augments. Ended up returning to my freighter, then going back to the space station, and proceeded my flipping.

The moment I reloaded an auto save, I had lost all progress on the upgrades and the entire inventory of modules I purchased for it.

All in all, I went from 31 storage and 21 tech to 19 storage and 5 tech, and lost about 300 million in purchased upgrades as well. That's about 4 hours of time just gone for no reason.

What in the flying fuck? Is this a known issue? Google isn't getting any good results regarding this.

Started my own little Civ tonight. [Discussion]

I finally went ahead and got going. Posting this here because I know I am the kind of gal who will get distracted and let it fall to side without the imagined pressure of all my fellow Interlopers holding me accountable.

I have a theme and light code of behaviour planned. I found a nice system with a paradise planet, six total worlds. The two I have landed on so far have no downside I have yet discovered.

Once I map the system, get 4 more nearby claimed, built bases, and designed a logo, I will register with the NMS Civilized Space wiki and post about it again here.

Thanks for indulging my need for the eyes of my fellow Reddit Travellers to keep me honest! :D

3.68: An Earthquake Hit My Settlement [Information]

Seriously. With the latest patch, everything in my settlement shifted 10u. I can still see the flattened areas where buildings used to be, and now some of them have grass growing inside. Also, two of my fours landing pads moved completely, one to the opposite side of town!

Anyone else notice things like this with the latest patch?

Bugged starship [Bug]

I found a crashed A class ship which I repaired. It had 27 cargo slots, so after just 30hours played I still use it. After I sent my first frigate expedition out, to my amazement, I found my spaceship in the same state as I found it, crashed, the first time. What th hell 😅 Anyone have a clue on how to fix this bug, because all my tech modules and cargo was od course missing.

I have escaped from my origin planet of Aura 82/Z2, a planet of obscenely high temperature and utter lack of water, only to find myself on a scalding planet of Kadan with inferno winds and sentinels so observant that even the act of protecting myself from the hazardous fauna I would be pelted by lazers before I could even drop what was originally attacking me in the first place. Current planetary struggles aside I may need to start from the beginning of my journey to give an understanding of how I got here...

I found myself on a blazing planet with my scanner damaged and no clear way out of my current overheating predicament, I needed to find a solution fast. Thankfully with my multi-tools mining beam online I quickly started gathering resources to fix my scanner issue. Upon successfully repairing my scanner I needed to find sodium and oxygen fast or my new existence in this unrelenting universe was going to be a short one. Thankfully sodium didn't seem to be a scarce resource, oxygen on the other hand wasn't picked up by my scans so I wasn't out of trouble just yet. After what felt like half a mile worth of walking my scanner recharged and I scanned again for the much-needed oxygen and picked up a strange signal as well. I was curious to investigate, but without oxygen, my curiosity would be a fruitless endeavor. Thankfully with a recharge of my life support systems, my curiosity could be abated, but it was still going to be a perilous trek to get there. Though I came across the wrecked crash site, a black box of sorts beckoned me to approach. Cautiously I activated the signal within and was greeted with a damaged system that seems to have had a previous owner of similar capabilities, due to the system and starship both recognizing me as a...

Issues joining [Question]

Does anyone either know how to fix or is having the same issues of not being able to join a friends game? So far I’ve checked all my network options in game and everything is green, but I can’t see other sessions and when I get an invite, it shows as connecting and then just disappears.

How exactly do first wave ships work? [Question]

So last night I was playing and came across what I believe to be a first wave exotic. Naturally I bought it immediately then reloaded my save (once or twice) and sure enough the ship showed up again in the first wave. So if I were to leave the system (or get in and out of my ship and save again) is there anything that could screw up the spawn? Been a little afraid to do anything yet in case it can mess it up lol. Sorry, I know there's a lot of info out there about how to find a first wave exotic but wasn't sure how it actually worked beyond that. Thanks!

Quicksilver Exploit [Exploit]

I think I just found a quicksilver exploit that is even better for this weekend event.

So after you finish the mission, head back to the anomaly and complete mission. Once it auto saves after mission completion, reload auto save. You’ll keep the quicksilver but be able to do the mission.

With the construct outpost mission, you just land on the planet, upload the base directly (it’s already built) head back to the nexus and you’ll make 1200 in a couple of minutes.

New Patch ruined settlements rant [Discussion]

This new patch moved every single one of my buildings after I had built stuff within the settlement. I was already bored/unimpressed with settlements in general and the only thing I was really having fun with was building my own buildings in the settlement. With this new patch, every single thing I built is now ~100u from the building it was in/on and buildings are just smashed into things left and right.

This patch just made me not want to mess with settlements at all anymore. Think I’ll just ignore them and focus on other parts of the game. I spent SO much time building everything just to have it all completely ruined. Super lame.

Freighter location. [Information]

Not sure if this should be under bugs or whatever, but why aren't we able to relocate our freighters as easily in the galaxy map or from a space station under previously visited places? It's one thing to memorize the exact name of the system you left everything in to go exploring unless you write down everything. An online journal would be nice for this game or a system that documents where you've got certain things. Anyways, I guess this is more of a rant than anything. I traded my B class freighter for an A class that was better looking, slightly more storage, Gek-run (not that that ever mattered to me). I appreciate that in trading one freighter for another that EVERYTHING can transfer but it's be nice to just look on a screen and see an icon of where you left things.

Tips for finding underwater fauna? [Question]

Hi there, just started playing and am having a blast so far! I had a question about finding creatures underwater that seemingly don't want to be found. It's the last creature to find for the nanite bonus, so of course it's driving me bonkers haha.

It says on the discovery that it's common, underwater, and always active. Yet, I have searched for a long time, during all hours of the day and night, and can't seem to locate.

Are there any less obvious methods for finding underwater creatures? terrain editing into the rock, mining something that reveals a home, etc?! I have experimented plenty and just don't have any other ideas.

Confused about Ship Hunting [Question]

I've been reading the wiki regarding ships class bonus %. Apparently you could see a ship's class bonus % with the visor in a previous version, but it has since been removed.

Is there any way to calculate a ship's bonus % manually? Is there another way to view it? Is there a mod for me to see it? Or does this mechanic simply not exist anymore?

NO more Travelers at Station [Question]

My weekend is ruined. [Discussion]

Spent all week looking forward to grinding the weekend QS mission so I could finally buy some cool stuffs and my daily mission ended up being a "kill pirates" mission. Which meant no target planet to land on, which apparently means the trick for reloading the weekend mission doesn't work, which means I'm sad and have to wait another week :(

I hve gamepass, which is how i play nms. I have an HP reverb VR headset (i know it isnt the best pls dont roast me my college gave it to me) and i was working that, since i can use the reverb on pc, and i can play nms on pc using the xbox app for it, would it be possible to play with my VR headset on pc with the xbox version of the game? I have almost 700 hours on my ps4 save I've been playing since day one, but I've recently moved to pc and NMS is currently on sale on steam for half off. I kind of feel like I've seen nearly everything and haven't even updated my ps4 since frontiers dropped. Should I purchase NMS on pc? [Question]

Personally, I am ready for a sequel. Been playing Star Citizen, but the upcoming update has me a little turned off from that. I have wonderful memories with NMS, and it will always hold a very special place in my heart, but the last few times I played on ps4 were a bit boring. Apparently pc has no building limit? Electrocal issues after update? [Bug]

I went back to a puzzle base i was working on after the update. Except now, nothing is working the way its supposed to. Inverters arent inverting. Registers arent registering, teleporters going to wrong teleporters. Everything is wrong.

This is the second puzzle base ive done. So i wanted to check the damage to my first. So i hop on my frieghter, go through the portal to the first puzzle base.... stuck on loading. Cant even load into it to check it. What is going on?!

Is there any way to connect a cylindrical room to a biodome that is above it so that there is an opening between them, but without using a ladder? [Question]

So I’ve recently constructed a farm consisting of interconnected cylindrical rooms with biodomes above them with plants in the biodomes. Is there some way to have the opening in between the cylindrical room without having the ladder in the way? I have been harvesting my plants using the terminals in the ceiling of the biodome as I walk through the cylindrical rooms, but I keep getting pulled onto the ladders, which slows me down and is quite annoying.

So when I go to the gateway and put in the energy resources and fill them all in it won't move onto the next part of the mission after giving me the coordinates of the planet. It just keeps telling me to put stuff into the gateway for energy when it's already filled. It will give me coordinates ok just won't move onto next part of the mission. What can I do? TIL: Halloween was awesome last year! [Discussion]

Last year's Halloween items were so great, they became basic staples of the game. Players got derelict freighters they could loot along with fighting one-eyed bugs and space jellyfish, tainted metal, the space station Scrap Dealer and customizable starship trails! Along with lots of new base decorations that we now see everywhere. I can't wait to see if they out-do themselves this year! 🎃

Planet types? [Question]

Hey guys, fairly new player here. Is there a wiki or a link I can get to what planet types mean. Like when you’re in space and scan a planet and for example it’ll say “Temperate” planet, is that supposed to mean something? Along with like the other 15 names I’ve seen. Multitool keeps defaulting to the Boltcaster? [Bug]

Normally the Mining Beam is the multitool's default setting. But after rearranging the tech to take better advantage of upgrade bonuses the multitool now defaults to the Boltcaster as the first weapon mode instead of the Mining Beam.

So every time I try to mine something I end up shooting it instead. Then I have to cycle through the weapon modes to get to the mining beam. It's really annoying...

I've tried putting everything back to where it was before but it doesn't make any difference. I've tried removing and reinstalling the Boltcaster but still no. Swapped Multitools and back again, still no better.

Anyone know how to fix this?

PC NMS won’t load? [Question]

hello, quick lil problem just bought NMS on PC (steam) because why not, right? It loads, and when i click on a mode it does that loading screen, then just freezes. i waited it out, then it just force quit. then i tried numerous times again and it just didn’t work haha.

Is there an all-content guide of some kind? [Question]

In a year of playing, I’ve never found anything in the game to lead me to a living ship, an exocraft, a settlement, or anything else added in patches. I feel like there are a ton of content triggers I’m missing. Is there a guide to finding all this stuff?

In case anyone wonders, I have been to the Anomaly and traveled through at least five systems. I have played with other people and tried the “Haunted Freighter” content once, so I can at least say that I’m patched and it’s possible for me to find new stuff.

I want to find my own paradise planet [Discussion]

Let me start out that saying between here and other subreddits for sharing NMS screenshots, I absolutely love seeing the paradise planets people find.

And while the thought has crossed my mind to use glyphs to just portal directly to those planets to finally build a main base…

(1) I want to actually discover my own paradise planet that’s perfect for me.

(2) I am extremely picky and particular about planet names. If the name isn’t perfect for me, I don’t want my base there.

Anyone else feel this way?

Do I need to do anything with Atlas path if I already have the Star Seed? [Question]

Basically title. I’ve had a few problems with this questline, for awhile it disappeared although and I assumed I’d finished it somehow but suddenly one of the places I warped to had an Atlas Station and brought the quest back.

I crafted Heart of a Star and from what I can tell, DID birth a Star, obtaining a Star Seed and then go through a black hole which I thought I understood was the end however again, another Atlas Station in a place I warped to trigged questline to appear again.

I went in, it said it needed Heart of a Star so I crafted another and did the thing. It took it, I didn’t get another Star Seed though and it wants me to go through another black hole. Is this part of the quest or a bug because it seems to precisely similar.

And if it is a bug does it matter if I just leave it? Like have I obtained all I need or that this quest offers?

Are crashed/abandoned ships worth the massive repair costs? [Discussion]

So I'm decently new to this game as I first played it last week. I have found two abandoned ships on planets and they are both in my freighter, still on fire it seems. One of them is almost exactly like the starter ship and the other had a LOT more storage space.

I have been reading up on how to get a new ship and it seems like a lot of people suggest buying a new one over fixing up broken ones.

Curious on what others think.

Pre Order DLC causes instability on Frontiers-update! (Steam) [Bug]

After the Frontiers-update I was crashing constantly, often every 5 min. After reinstalling windows, the game, drivers, chipset drivers, testing memory, testing drives, I thought I was going to be doomed. My wife also has the game on her computer and has very few issues. I realized the only real difference was I had the pre order DLC so I disabled it and I've had almost no issues since!

Hey,

Has anyone come across the bug as shown in the image where it does not tell me what materials are required? I know it is metal plating, but even after crafting, it still comes up greyed out with the () in it. Can I fix it or is this building RIP?

Also, I have built about four buildings since this one.

Finally, where can I report such bugs to NMS?

Cable Pod [Question]

So I’m getting all of the glitches together for base building and I can’t find a cable pod. Google gave me one Euclid address and it’s obviously the cable pod homeworld but there’s no cable pod glitches to collect. I only need the one and I can create more. Endgame? [Discussion]

I have played NSM for around 94 hours. I can't say I have done everything but it seems that I have nothing interesting left to do in the game. I have completed the main missions, leaped into a few new galaxies and built my settlement. Collected a few S Class Ships and Multitools. Built a few bases...and I am starting to find myself having nothing much to do now. I am a solo player btw, I have no friends playing this game.

I am wondering what are you guys doing in the game that can make you spent over 1000+ hours on this game? Earning quicksilver to unlock the cosmetics stuffs? Doing multiplayer stuffs (like building base with friends?).

WHY ARE THERE NO BLACK STARSHIPS??? [Question]

Many of you are probably aware of that texture glitch that turns starships black, and how fricken cool they look like this. I was already bummed that no ships actually looked like that, but now I'm even more annoyed because I just saw the COOLEST SHUTTLE IVE EVER SEEN. Literally the whole ship turned black, and had blue lights around it, it looked exactly like something batman would own. Without a doubt, the coolest ship I've ever seen in my 100+ hours of playing. But of course, as soon as I went to take a picture, it switched back to it's boring grey and piss yellow that it actually was. I was so angry I just had to rant about it here. PLEASE ADD BLACK SHIPS, SEAN.

Settlement broken after latest update [Bug]

Latest update states: "Fixed an issue that could cause some settlement buildings to placed outside of the flattened area."

It seems this "fix" broke my settlement. I have multiple buildings that are now inside terrain that was not there prior to the update, and I have a build terminal stuck in the ground so I cannot even remove that part of my settlement and relocate it. I am currently stuck progress wise on the settlement as a result of this. Prior to the update I had no issues with terrain and my settlement.

Has anyone else experienced this and is there a fix as of right now. I am currently blocked on progress so it is a major inconvenience.

Distraction [Discussion]

Does anyone else commit to a project and then get distracted with the thousands of things you can do in this game.

I can't count the amount of times I have started building a base and run out of material. I then start flying to get said material and get distracted by a cool looking creature, salvage, tech, ancient ruins or a cool looking planet.

Stranded pilot [Bug]

So the stranded pilot missions from the nexus and otherwise almost always crash the game every time I reach the decryption terminal, the corrupted sentinels run away from me so I chase them down, kill them, then upon getting back to the terminal they respawn and crash my game. It makes it pretty much impossible for me to finish these missions unless I get lucky and it doesn’t crash

Can someone dumb down upgrades for me? I have a series of specific questions in the OP [Question]

So I understand the way that the hidden bonus increases depending on the number of sides touching, how a 2x2 box is ideal, and how not everything has a "bonus" to it. Here's my confusions, if anyone could clarify my swarm of questions, I'm sorry I have so many:

​ How can I tell if I have "overworked" it (added too many upgrades)? If I have done this, does it indicate it or do I just have to notice I have too many upgrades? If overworked, does it basically just negate the effects of all upgrades or does it simply remove the hidden bonuses or how does it affect it? From what I understand, the General and Technology inventories can handle 3 upgrades of the same family each, allowing you to have 6 total upgrades per "family" by separating them in half. Just to be sure, is that correct? Following #2, the Multi-Tool doesn't have different inventory types. Does that mean it can only handle 3 upgrades per family ever? Multiple things online only mention the Exosuit/Starship, does that mean the Multi-Tool is exempt from being "overworked" and can actually accommodate more than 3 upgrades per family? Do similar upgrades stack? I have two different upgrades with a 200% jet fuel tank increase and I definitely don't feel like I'm rocking 4x base jet capacity, which makes me think they aren't working/stacking. Is there any way to see what extra bonuses you've accrued via touching sides or are they truly hidden and you can only do the math on your own and hope it's working?

So I started building a facility to farm whispering eggs around one of those abandoned outposts, but the eggs aren't coming back as I had been led to believe they would. Help with getting units (For beginners) [Question]

Does anybody have any tips for getting units?

I’m still flying round in the first ship you get at the start. I’ve put 60 hours into the game so far (I know that’s not a lot compared to some) and I’ve only just managed to get over 1m in units.

I have to keep buying inventory slots because there just isn’t enough for me to carry so that’s where the majority of my units are being spent.

Any advice for a noob would be greatly appreciated.

Have not played in a long time, just started again. [Discussion]

So much stuff has been added since the last time I played. I like how I can have multiple ships now and a freighter to haul them. Base building is cool. I found it annoying to get my freighter up to where my original ship is. Finding those salvaged stuff to upgrade the engines to the freighter is crazy. I did something like 4 derelict salvage missions and got 3 total. Only now did I find out that I can just blow up a bunch of sentinal freighter cargo pods to get it, so much easier and i dont need to spend 5 mil each time. Game is so much better now. What else am I missing thats new?

Need Help Reporting A Racist Solar System Name [Question]

Was working on a new save and I warped into a solar system named by a real player with a racial slur. I went into Discoveries to try and Report it but the option is greyed out. I have a screenshot of the Discoveries page which shows that the user was on console and it displays their username that Uploaded it. I'll get on the save tomorrow and try to report again but this really bugs me as this is so insensitive.

What are some minor/medium tweaks and changes you would like to see in NMS? [Suggestion]

My wishes would be:

MOAR SHIP SLOTS! Something like to 9 to 12 ship. If the problem is simultaneously rendering like on capital ships, they could be divided in groups so they could show up in limited numbers.

A navigation HUD on 3rd person ship view. I like to fly in 3rd-p view but in space it gets hard sometimes to find planets. A hud/radar like the you see in first person view would be nice, maybe toggleable.

Toggleable coordinates on screenshots. Makes it easier to share ships and planets to the community

More storms/hazards variety. After some of the first impacts, storm become more of an annoyance then a danger. If so, then there could be more variety on an aesthetic level. Like magma level rising on lava planets, nuclear explosions on radioactive planets, hailstorms on ice planets.

Mega-ultra-rare planets. We already have some planets that are more rare then others, by combination of some RNG factors (like lush white planets); but here I’m talking about planets with unique and distinct features! Something like the entire community would discover once a few months. It could be just one thing, not an entire new biome.

Space landmarks. NMS is a space exploration simulator but you do really do few things in actual space. Let’s Put some permanent things that could be a motivation for space tours, like pulsars.

Change the shuttle category. This may be personal taste, but I really don’t like shuttles. Maybe just overhaul it with some aesthetic changes like they did with te explorer category.

Question about base building. [Question]

Ok so up to now I haven't really spent any time on building bases, preferring instead to throw up a few large prefab rooms to service my needs while I completed quests. However, I'm now working through some of the secondary missions, and I've decided to start building a "proper" base.

So, I've learnt a load of blueprints to build my own (non prefab) base. However, I'm a bit lost because the alloy structure has no power points on the outside like the prefab does. What do I plug my power sources into?!!! Am I supposed to just clip electrical cable through walls or is there a socket I need to install or something?!

Living ships bug [Question]

So my first living ship's inventory was bugged, it showed the inv of my other ship (S-class exotic 18+5). Since i tried everything to fix this bug but it didn't help, sadly i had to farm another 3200 Quicksilver and 10k nanites. I bought the void egg, pulsed it and followed the coordinates, but i didn't like the ship... So i rejected it, giving back my void egg to activatie it again in space. However, when i use my pulse engine now, it doesn't do anything tot the egg... Anyone knows what i have to do? I'm on PS5...

Died in Permadeath for no reason [Bug]

Hello there, i have started playing a new savefile with the permadeath mode. It wasn't that hard but yesterday as i flown into the Anomaly, something strange happend. I saw in the chat that some people died. I didn't think anything about it and i went to the merchants. As i was in the shop i got killed by something. I don't know what it was but now my savefile is gone. Well i thought the Anomaly is a save place... Does someone had a same bug? Is there a way to restore my savefile? I know it's permadeath and that's a dumb question but i think it's bullshit if you die in an safeplace for no reason...

My ship got stuck inside my freighter and blew up. Twice. Lost all my stuff. [Bug]

WTF was that? First time I've tried to dock and flew inside it (and game crashed). Second time I've went there hoping to recover my stuff, but once I've exited pulse travel I was once again inside it and died again. Now there seems to be no grave there. Is my stuff lost forever?

So annoying. This is second critical bug today. First I've lost an hour of progress when my ship got stuck during a station landing sequence.

What you think will come next and when? [Discussion]

Was thinking about the next update. The major hint is the station override, but I'd love to see a focus on exploration. I loved the desolation update.

Maybe rework the economy so its harder to get rich and getting resources, artifacts, etc is more meaningful.

When: Im guessing mid november, with a new expedition coming along.

Atlas path to nowhere [Information]

I like tooling about in these threads almost as much as I like playing NMS, so wanted to ask for some help. I was following the Atlas path, then for a change of scenery did the Expedition. I am at the stage of the Atlas path where I need to build/ find the Heart of the Sun. Now, all the online advice is go talk to Polo for Atlas station co-ords, but when I do, nothing happens when back in my ship. I only have free explore and Galaxy centre as options. The Atlas path is still in my log and so is Install Remeberence , any ideas?

Help, there is no capital freighter fight on my 10th warp. [Question]

help with multi player [Question]

i started a new save with me and my brother, and it started fine, we were able to both get both of our ships, get them flying, but now when he goes to place his base computer, it doesnt let him get the set up and get the walls and doors. i had the same issue with me and my friend when we tried before. does he hjave to start in a solo world then join me after he gets past the start of the game?

Just started expedition. Will I make it? [Discussion]

Two weeks till it ends! Oh man I missed that. Started last night. Got phases 1 and 2 done. I'm on scan minerals...17/18...

Struggling but I just thought I should build an exocraft to roam father to find it so that's my plan.

Seems like a good pace so far but are there some worse timewise I should maybe lookout for before I spin too long?

Any tips is a big help. I think after the minerals I'll have phase 3 done in short order but not having that one rock is killing me...

While on the Atlas quest, I was using my S-Class one. When you get teleported around there's a moment where you have to find your ship and you have to repair it. To my surprise, I found my S-Class ship but it looked like my C - Hauler. The inventory, slots and even the name was from the S-Class but it looked like the Hauler. Restarting the game or getting into my C-one and calling the other ship didn't help. The exotic ship's looks was gone.

Luckily I have an old savegame (lost a an hour of gameplay) where I still had my old exotic one.

Anyone else has experienced that?

Ship deleting glitch 😭 [Bug]

Yesterday, I found a crashed exotic. I repaired it enough to fly, flew it back to the space station, and scrapped it. And then things got weird… it didn’t disappear.. an npc had landed on it. So the once crashed exotic is clipped in to an npc ship and my hauler spawns in front of it. The npc ship leaves and I can still get in the salvaged ship. I get in and it has every slot upgraded and all the tech from my hauler in it but none of my items. I get out and walk to my hauler get in and it has all my items and all the tech. Cool right, I scrapped the exotic got everything for scrapping an S class, got to keep the ship, AND it was maxed out.. all for free! So, heck I’ll fly it..I fly out of the space station and just don’t like how it flies so I land on the closest planet to switch back to my hauler.. but it’s gone.. missing without a trace. And of course, now I have a little guppy instead of Megaladon. Has anyone else had this happen? I know I won’t get my hauler back but just curious if this is an isolated incident.. or a real bug.

Should I prioritize class of modules or the stats on those modules? [Question]

I Just received a class B life module that gives me +5% Life Support Tanks I already have 2 S class modules that are really nice and a C class life module that strangely gives me +10% Life Support Tanks. So to finish out my block of life modules should I prioritize the B class since it's a higher class or the C class since it gives me +10% instead of +5%? Thanks for the help!

Exosuit shield upgrade modules bugged? [Question]

I can't seem to get a definitive answer. Maybe somebody here can help me out.

To does the percentage on the shield upgrades go UP with their strength or DOWN? I. E. is a shield module with a stat of 90% stronger or weaker than one with 88%? According to both Xaine and KJPCGaming as well as some other online resources, shield modules are glitched, but "glitched" is pretty much the full extent of the description of the situation.

Anybody have any more comprehensive information?

Permadeath Game Start Glitch? [Discussion]

So i had something strange just happen. I died 30 hours into a permadeath run (I don't want to talk about it) and immediately started a new permadeath save. As soon as I started I brought up the menu to change my camera view and noticed I had the option to return to the Space Anomaly, so I did. I can't do anything in the Anomaly because I need to progress the story. I can repair the Radiant Pillar in the Anomaly but cannot return to my starting planet. I used the portal to warp to the Sentinel Collosuss to collect resources to try and progress. Has this happened to anyone else?

Have recent updates broken any old portal addresses? [Question]

I am trying to locate a ship in a system from a portal address that was shared with the community. The address was first shared on August 30th. I first tried to use the address sometime around September 24th. Whenever I use the address I get the error message "Location Corrupted - Approximating Destination" and the portal takes me to the wrong system.

I have already verified the address with the person who shared it. (It was originally from a screenshot). Additionally, I have double checked that I am dialing from the correct galaxy.

Does anyone know what could have caused the address to stop working? Did the system address just change somehow? Is it likely that the system still exists nearby in the same voxel region and might be found again? Or is the system simply gone?

Derelict Freighter Death Duplication [Bug]

I was farming some derelict freighters, and at the time I had the Mature Neural Stem and Fragile Heart in my exosuit inventory for my living ship that I've been working on. Upon death part way through the freighter I respawned with both living ship items back in my inventory. Upon reaching my grave, I received all of my inventory back including both parts of the living ship.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Where do I start? [Question]

The last time I played the game according to my last save was February 2019 (which doesn't seem right and I could've sworn I had more stuff done but whatever). I'm aware of most of the cool stuff they've added since, but honestly it's a lot to take in. I think I just completed going to the center of the universe and this was when black holes were the best method so upon playing the game again I was greeted with a ton of broken shit so obviously I start with fixing it. What do I do after this though? The possibilities are endless yeah, but I'm unsure about a lot of things and the game doesn't really clue me in on too much which is aspect I both adore and grow kind of annoyed towards. My ship isn't like an S tier, but it's good and I love it and my freighter is meh. I only have a little under 2 million units and 500 nanites. I kind of have a base but honestly it sucks. In short, how can I get into No Man's Sky. What things in the game should I prioritize to really get me into the game? There's so many tasks I have to do just to gather the shit I need to repair everything, along with a lot primary and secondary missions. I'm very intrigued and want to be a part of the community. I plan on joining the Galactic Hub but I'm not sure if I'm set up enough

Crashing on ps5 [Question]

Anyone else on ps5 unable to play the game for more than 10 minutes without a crash? This has been going on since before the update and after. I’ve tried clearing the cache, deleting and re downloading, limiting the frame rate, nothing works, the game is unplayable for me. Anyone else suffering like this? Anyone know a fix? I've gone through 2 ships, rn I have a little bot fighter, and a small base. What would yall suggest to do to progress more? I am on the quest 'Ghosts in the machine' basically working on expanding shit in the base rn. I heard talk of something called the Galactic Hub, and I looked into it. But due to my brain being small and a little bit of impatience I couldn't understand anything on their wiki about them or what they do. I find myself curious about the “player experience” of the developers over at Hello Games. [Discussion]

What I mean is, while playing the game can never be separated from their jobs as game devs I wonder how they play the game and how much they enjoy the experience. Are they happy with the game they made? Are they able to aimlessly fly around various planets after a long day of work? Do any of them use their admin powers to behave as griefers or to give out high value items in the anomaly. I wonder specifically what Sean Murray’s base(s) look like and what he does when he logs in to play. I wonder which developers like which ships and which races they prefer. I wonder how many of them actively participate in the various communities such as the galactic hub or the pirate hub. And I wonder how they feel about the game/story they’ve created once they reach the end of all available missions. I dunno maybe they all play Call of Duty or GTA Online to blow off steam.

Curiosity killed the Gek I suppose but I’m also curious what you other interlopers think.

The Main Quest building is large yet the only part that clipped thru the un-diggable terrain is the entrance [Bug]

I sent a report but I got a generic "Uninstall your mods if you have ones and see if your graphic card is updated".

I have no mods installed and my graphic card is up to date, the problem is that the building has phased through a hill.

is it normal to have no sounds in space stations? [Bug]

like steps being muffled to the point of not being emitted at all while running, infra-knife skipping sound after firing for a few seconds, scatterblaster exploding while the normal pistol cant be heard at all

i tried the steam file verification thing and everything seems to be ok file-wise

I love my freighter. The design and the species and their look are perfect for me. I happened to get it about a year ago, before I knew that you could re roll them for a higher class. Mine happens to be an A class, and I was wondering if I could figure out what system it came from so I could try for the same one in an S class version.

I can't believe I just discovered this today, 100+ hours in. As I'm sitting in the station waiting for more ships to land so I can scrap them for modules and storage augmentations, I remembered that you can view both class and price of ships (freighters too) through the analysis visor.

I was going up to each pilot to make an offer. Lots of running, lots of interactions.

Don't be an unroasted peanut like me. Use your analysis visor and look at the ships. Will save lots of steps.

Appreciation Post [Article]

I've been testing update 3.68 for a couple of hours now, and I just wanted say that I'm nothing short of impressed by how much Hello Games' engineers were able to push the game's performance.

I've been playing on PS4 since 2016 and this is probably the smoothest it's ever been running on console since Next, at least for me. The loading times are drastically reduced, bases load in nicely when you teleport to them directly, assets load in quickly aswell and overall the game experiences much less frame-rate drops. I even got used to the new base building menu 😆 Really great work! 👌

I joined a friend in multiplayer and started a new save. I ended up spawning with my crashed ship on the planet they had a base on.

When I loaded my save in singleplayer, their base was still there. If I were to destroy it and build a new base there, what would happen if I rejoined his world?

Cannot join community events [Question]

OK, been trying to join the community events for three weeks now. Stuck on attempting to connect. TLS 1.1 and 1.2 are enabled (verified and tested) and I can do anything else. Multiplayer works fine for what it is. No other games or applications on the system have issues. Well above max specs (i7-6950X, 128GB DDR4, RTX 2080 Ti), game runs great. How can I even troubleshoot this?

Do all water planets have at least some land? [Question]

I’m doing a quest and it involves me diving into a planet that seems to be 100% water. And of course with it seemingly being only water I can’t land my ship to start diving in. Heard that planets aren’t only water, that there’s at least a little land to land on but the only thing that goes above the water are some crystals with no surface to land on.

SHIP EXPLOIT [Bug]

Has anyone seen anyone using the ship exploit? Essentially the game has a bug where you can buy your ship back infinitely and keep trading other ships for free and scrapping them to make an infinite amount of money and mods. Kinda think it's lame for people who work hard in the game to get things. Someone can play for 1 day, use this exploit and get more than you were able to get in months of grinding. Im not sure if this is something that was already addressed and the No Man's Sky Devs don't care or if it has just gone unnoticed.

Just got back from the Atlas [Information]

Guys I just got back from the Atlas and it was very mean to me. It told me I was capable of both good and evil and I always try my very best and I didn't like that it was so judgemental. Then it gave me a Captured Nanode recipe and didn't even explain what it's used for. Then it pushed me down the stairs. The Atlas pushes very hard and I fell out into space and I had to put more and more oxygen into my life support systems because I thought I was going to die. Then I was on a planet I've never been on before and my ship was far far away and I had to run to it through a toxic storm. There was lightning everywhere. Then the Atlas knocked my ship over and broke the landing systems. I am very distraught over the Atlas calling me names and breaking my things.

How do I finish and get the atlas path stone thing? I got the last atlas and it's literally empty there is no red blob being or whatever at the end of the room. There's nothing there its glitched. It happened to me last night and all my saves I have involve the glitch I've tried to get around it. I've heard something that I can still get this by getting to the center of the galaxy? So are Portals just teleporters now? [Question]

Fairly certain the last time I used one, Portals had severe restrictions on the other side - such as not being able to use teleporters, warp to other systems, etc.

I was able to activate a Portal, go through, and continue my game normally on the other side. ie, I could warp, use teleporters (including back and forth between my bases and the "other side" systems, summon freighter and anomaly, etc. Haven't tried building a new base yet.

PS5 / Frontiers (v3.67 at the time I used it) / new Permadeath save.

Constuction site - stuck in chat loop [Question]

I made the mistake (?) of jetpacking into a construction site (bazaar), to find an NPC character sat in there. It's been rambling away at me for a few minutes without any translation dialogue, and no sign of it giving in.

Not to be a beggar but I'm looking for assistance with resources for a special community project! [Discussion]

I'm trying to get ahold of salvaged data for unlocking nexus building blueprints, as well as as much resources as I csn get for making them. I'm making a special hub for players who who want to visit the special 256th ( usually impossible to enter ) Galaxy of Odyalutai! I'm going to be making a taxi group of sorts for people who have access to help people enter as well and explore :3 only issue is I'm beyond spend on even basic stuff like ferrite, carbon, ect. Got max stacks of varied resources but one of the bases I'm makings eaten it all. I was told to try and ask here for assistance maybe with resource donations, but I don't wanna come off as a random beggar. If you'd like to help me with funding this, let me know! Resources are going to an airship build, a villa resort for players to relax in, and a community indium and rolling Mold farm.

Yet another Overseer bug [Bug]

I decided to speedrun a fresh save and I was basically about to finish the last overseer quest where he gives you the exocraft terminal blueprint. I got that, but instead of asking me to build it, the overseer got locked into this weird depressing dialogue where he says the world's all fake and it's all built for me or something like that, with additional dialogue from my pov that goes "well, I should probably leave him here where I can have an eye on him" and I get the option to "touch" him or leave him be.

I'd be ok with that, except I still get a pretty annoying marker on-screen and the goal of the quest is still "return to the overseer" and I can't end this quest in any way shape or form. I even deleted the base and un-claimed the land and the marker is STILL there, just floating mid-air. Whenever I boot up the game or warp to a new system, my current quest gets authomatically switched to "return to the overseer, with coords to the old system the now deleted base was in.

I don't know wtf else to do honestly, even building a new base and a hireing a new overseer in a new system did nothing, marker still there, floating mid air in nothingness.

How many Biodomes is too many? [Question]

Let me elaborate here. Between derelicts, fleet expeditions, pirates, and other misc rewards, I have more Geodesite and Iridesite than I know what to do with, so I've been farming for ingredients to make fusion ignitors and stasis devices. I already have 2-4 domes for each crop. Should I make more? On one hand, it seems wasteful to sell them without upgrading, but I already have literal BILLIONS of units and no clue what to spend them on (I have every slot upgrade, and maxed out multitools and starships). All the stuff I still want to get seemingly can't be purchased with units. I want to purchase an S rank Explorer, but even after following guides, I can never seem to get any to appear.

Best way to light a base built with custom parts? [Question]

I have found some older posts and some outdated mods, but there does not seem to be recent information on how I could light up a space built from custom parts w/o plastering it with those ugly construction lights.

Am I missing something obvious and it is a solved problem or has the community just given up on two-store-plus rooms?

How to efficiently search a planet for a base spot with nearby hotspots? [Question]

I'm relatively new, not even 50 hours in yet, and I'm taking my time. Unlocked base stuff I want, upgraded, acquired ship and free freighter and farmed some chlorine.

Situation: - found nice lush planet in a wealthy system - want to build a base - need to find a spot with oxygen, nitrogen and power hotspots (even C-class is fine, for now)

Question(s): Is there a trick or established meta for searching? Do these spots ever overlap? How make Booben?

Frieghter Base Parts Still Dissapearing After Frontiers Update 3.86 [Bug]

I took some time off from the game and came back to start a new save for the Frontiers update. This bug is still present it seems and I haven't been able to track down the most current fix. Seems like the frieghter complexity is still being stored in some sort of cache so after a time of removing and rebuilding parts a player will hit the limit and base parts will start dissapearing. Tried some work around from 2018, 2019, 2020 posts which didn't help me. Is there a time I should wait for or a glitch fix? I submitted a ticket to HG. Thanks all!

Can't decide [Question]

What to do A planet I found was supposed to have magnetized ferrite but no it was no where where be found so I figured Let's climb the volcano maybe it's up there

Well it was not, did found a new fauna to scan so I jumped with the jackpack towards it, seems flying over a volcano drains the jetpack near instantly so I plummeted into the magma

Now I can't reach my grave to gather my stuff and I had a lot of stuff A lot also bought cause I can't find it in the solar system I am in (my starting system) or don't have the blueprints yet Adding damaged tech... I lost way too much to accept

Auto save was right after death and since I can't figure out how to manually save whenever I want my last was a week ago or something I would have my stuff (I had at that time) back Plus my planets were not named yet so I could fix up that name mistake But I would also lose my terrain manipulator, all the new stuff, the unearthed relic

And the worst part of that is, my started multitool is filled with tech from modules I found, unreplaceable So I had to spend hours, and I mean HOURS to get my hands on an other muktitool, ended up with an beauty A class tool with weapon systems and lots of slots I decided to dedicate it for combat and terrain control, found some great modules with fitting functions for that as well

I personally can't decide what would be the best course of action Lose everything I have, including stuff I bought to repair a ship and adding more repair actions (while accepting a naming mistake) Or lose hours of game play, a great multitool settup (and having to spend hours to find a new one again) to get a fraction of my stuff back and get to name my findings correctly

Planet regeneration? [Question]

Well, I found a paradise planet that I like after several jumps. The things is that this planet's flora is not really pretty. It has some weird trees and other stuff that I don't like. So, is there any way to regenerate the planet with a mod or something? I'd hate to have to continue jumping galaxies, looking for other paradise planets.

Patterns in Time Broken [Question]

With the newest update adding settlements and adding more base parts, is it crazy to think they will further expand on this aspect of the game? I could see Hello games adding more and more building parts and base parts, until they release an update allowing us to make whole cities or even colonizing planets or sytems. Snapping issues with base parts as of 3.68 [Bug]

Cuboid room and room frame - cannot snap from top down only from ground up.

Small triangle (all types including legacy) - won't snap to themselves.

Small panel (all types) - very picky when and if it will snap to pieces or itself.

Half ramps (all types) - sometimes won't snap without empty space beneath and nothing will snap in that empty space. Building two side by side facing opposite directions is a crapshoot. When able to place in this manner, the floor space on both sides cannot be snapped to.

Sloping roof panel, sloping roof gable, roof cap, roof gable (all types) - roof panel only snaps to ground, itself, and gables. Likewise for roof caps. Gables only attach to these.

Triple hanging lamp - works as intended but often have to delete the part it's placed on to point at the underside of the snap point to remove or move it.

Half arch (all types) - can't be snapped from top down, only from bottom up.

The old structural adornments (cube, cylinder, pipe, etc.) have multiple snapping issues.

Storage solutions? [Question]

I'm starting on an AI farm and I'm having storage problems. I built the storage containers hoping to empty my ship inventory into them, only to find out they are linked to my freighter storage. This is convenient for most I'm sure, but I need a separate storage for base materials. Is there something I'm missing? I'll be out collecting salvaged data for now (I only have 3 storage containers unlocked currently.) Are there other storage solutions I should be unlocking? Best way to get a Rifle in early game? [Question]

I just started the game (I'm in the part where I am triangulating my position to find Artemis) but for personal Role Playing reasons I would like to have a rifle as my multi tool. I found one in the first Space Station I reached but it is an A level rifle and costs 2.3 M and I'm around 300K on my units balance.

Point of a settlement? [Discussion]

Is anyone finding settlements worth the time?

I jumped into having a settlement as soon as it was available. Seemed like a neat idea the first couple of days. Got myself up to an S class with sufficient happiness and production. Weeks later, I've added only 5 new citizens and 4 have since died on expeditions. So, I'm up one citizen after all this time. Seems the vast majority I get are citizen disputes. Got the settlement out of debt quickly, and I started producing parts that sell for -20% in a majority of systems. Awesome, they produce junk that is produced in nearly every system. Thanks citizens, you've really a handle on niche production. Lazy, good for nothing Vy-Keen. I've seen screen shots of some really good stuff being produced. I'm almost at the point of just stopping my visits since I don't really see much point in the same exact exchanges time and again. Anyone have a more positive view of settlements that I might consider?

Crazy freighter glitch! Glitched me outside of the freighter I literally fell through the freighter to the planets surface I've never seen anything like this and I couldn't do anything bc the screen was stuck in the camera position of me talking to the freighter captain? [Bug]

I literally had no idea what happened till like 10 seconds later when the camera went back to my character who free falling like a hundred miles to the planets surface moving at mach 10 or something my characters body was moving as fast as it would have if I was in my starship. So it literally Sling shotted me to the planets surface and there was nothing I could do about it. I was very lucky I had a ton of stuff on my character. I was lucky I hadn't offloaded yet to any of my vehicles.

So that's not the end of it. Turns out where I fell was this massive ocean world. Great right bc I couldn't call my ship to come get me. Had to construct a nautilus on the bottom and use it to get to an island took almost a half hour. I have orbital drop of vehicles but it can't drop anything but the nautilus since there was no land. Took me over a half hour to traverse this entire ocean and find a land mass which was very very small.

Let me back up just for a second before that I tried to create an island using the terrain manipulator as I thought that would be much quicker than driving across an ocean. So I made a pretty big land mass fattened it and put a landing pad on it. For the life of me the damn ship wouldn't land on it. I'm not sure why actually that's part of the reason I'm posting this? I dropped a landing pad on the tiny island and it was still a No Go!

I then spent a half hour maybe more driving around to find a stupid island that was paper flat and the ship would land on. I just don't understand what's the point of having a landing pad if the damn ship won't land on it? I made a base on this island I created obviously I had to, to be able to make...

Ok so I couldn't thank those that did it directly so I am posting here in hopes that they might see it. I got the tip to hangout in the anomaly overnight because people are very generous so I decided to give it a try last night. Let me just say wow they were right.

I've been struggling to build up some money since I'm fairly new to the game. Thought I was doing OK making some millions selling some chlorine, but still it runs out quick. Woke up this morning to a couple stacks of tradable goods valued at 500mil being put in my inventory overnight, and even a storage augment as well. You all are great. Hope whoever did it sees this and knows it was appreciated.

Space station vs on world terminals? [Question]

I placed a trade terminal in my base and noticed it sold 4 tiers of trade goods and then I teleported to the space station and the terminal on there only sold 3 tiers (like I already knew it did).

Survey a Planet Nexus Mission Bug [Bug]

Haven't played since launch, what should I do? [Question]

Hey all!

I first played NMS when it released and totally loved it (despite a couple notable missing features) but I haven't picked it up since (I got about halfway into the story and then got busy, stopped playing, you know the deal). I want to get back into it as I've seen so many cool builds, capital ships (I don't know the actual in-game term), etc. and so it seems like a good distraction for a bit while I wait for CIG to release alpha 3.15 for Star Citizen.

I was curious if anyone had some tips (like should I continue my old save, or start a new one, what has majorly changed since launch, etc.) because, at least from the looks of it, its pretty much a brand new game at this point and I would have no idea where to start.

Salvage Ship Issue [Bug]

Hi I'm new here and I have an issue on my game I couldn't find an answer to through Google. I currently have three ships. Whenever I find a downed ship and scrap it at the space station my original ship (starter ship) is spawned not the ship I was using when I found the downed ship.

Is this a current bug that's being worked on? Does it just do this and I have to scrap my beginning ship?

Spaceport Alpha Help [Question]

Guys i'm desperate for some help.

I've been to about 20 different buildings. (abandoned, Factories, Trading posts etc.) and none of them are completing this reward.

bugged atlas path? [Question]

Recently, I was one system away from the next Atlas Interface, and my game froze while I was on a planet. I waited about ten minutes before closing it with task manager. When I re-opened the game, I was in my starship right outside the Atlas Interface, in a system I had never been to before (the next one on the galaxy map). It now won't let me interact with anything once I'm inside the Interface. I've tried warping to a different galaxy and back, switching to/completing other missions, restarting the game, and no luck. The atlas path mission still says "locate the atlas interface". Has anyone else experienced this? I'm completely at a loss for what to do next.

Building a base just made me really sad [Meme]

So I wanted to build a base, after I finally got all the stone building pieces and just started building and stuff... but at one point stuff didn't work out as I imagined and some things were not possible to build like I wanted, so I had to work around. At one point, I wanted to put stairs in a tower because unfortunately there is no ladders for stone pieces but the slim ramp can only be placed outside. This was making me really sad and I realised how flawed the building system actually is. There is so many little things, I wish they were there.

Long story short, I deleted everything in the end and stared at my screen, realising that I just wasted like 2 hrs.

The first says search for Artemis and the Apollo and tells me to purchase tech blueprints or new base parts aboard the Anomaly and undertake Nexus missions. But I’ve done several Nexus missions and own almost all blueprints already… is there something specifically that triggers progression here?

Second one says expand your new home, construct terminals and find recruits. Also tells me to select “Expanding the Base” in mission logs. But I don’t have that titled mission, closest I have is Base Computer Archives mission which keeps making me wait 6 hours between progress.

I finished the Atlas questline so these two, which have been on these same requirements for probably 80-100 hours of gameplay, are all I have to do and I’d like to be able to do them xD

New Traveler looking for guidance [Question]

I just started NMS this past weekend. Steam put it on sale finally! I am hooked and loving it. I am playing mostly blind. I do look items up as I find them since the game gives very little hints in their use. I believe I am done with the tutorial... Found the anomaly, have a mission for tracking Artemis, and some Atlas tracking mission. I am currently heading towards a black hole Polo told me about, sounded interesting.

Are there any current guides, YouTubers, etc? I am looking for places to learn mechanics on exosuit, ship, and multitool customizing. Somewhere to learn what all there is to actually do in the game, missions, professions, or anything else I probably don't know about lol. I recently learned I can salvage crashed ships by claiming and using the teleporter to bring them to a station. Seems to be lucrative. I'm still in my first ship, btw. I have a few million credits, but waiting to find a good ship or multitool to upgrade to...

Any tips, links, or channels will be greatly appreciated! Also, anyone playing 10 pm PDT during the week. I'm looking for NMS friends...

Can a settlement be permanently botched? [Question]

For some reason I'm not seeing any posts on this matter, but essentially my question is this: If I have built everything the game will allow me to, and my maintenance costs still exceed my productivity, is it even still possible to get out of debt using visitors and policy decisions alone, or should I just cut my losses, pack up, and start fresh somewhere else, making better construction decisions this time around? I've been at this for weeks now, and I've gotta say that if it is at all possible, it's certainly nothing too quick.

No Man's Sky constantly crashing on PS4 [Bug]

Well guys, I done did it. No Man's Sky was operating just fine with minimal freezing for over 100 hours of accumulated gameplay.

After my recent cream posts as cream man, I now cannot turn on No Man's Sky without it freezing at some point.

I've done the safe mode system file rebuild on the PS4 but it still keeps freezing. I notice it happens mainly during moments of downtime. It seems like every time I let the controller rest for a minute, it always freezes.

Do you guys know what the issue might be, besides too much cream or the fact I'm playing on a fucking PS4?

Is it possible for a planet like this to have 0 planetary settlements? [Question]

The planet in question.

It has flora fauna and plenty of small and big outposts. Yet, whenever I use a settlement chart on the planet surface 1 of 3 things happen: It consumes the map without doing anything. It displays "Cannot use chart // Locational Interference" It actually works but always finds an outpost in 1 of the 2 nearby planets.

For the life of me, I can't seem to make it work. I've tried around 20 different locations on the planet and reloaded 3-5 times in each one. Is this a known bug? Am I missing something profound?

Please help, I'm losing my mind.

Abondoning settlements [Question]

I have read on this and other subs that I automatically abandon my current settlement if I accept a new one. I'm cool with it "on paper", but I've got a nice base on the settlement, so...

My question is: What happens to the settlement? I mean does it disappear? Does it revert to the original four or five buildings? And for future gameplay, will it still be an S-Class when/if I return to govern it again?

Star birth highly bugged [Bug]

When I first got the void egg I started the mission than I did the first phase waited for the part to mature than I went into pulse drive for 10 minutes than I saw it didn’t work so I waited another day went into pulse for 30 minutes nothing I can’t even restart it,it only says await contact but I haven’t got jack sh!t does anyone know how to fix it

Big mistake, need finding ship [Question]

I made a huge mistake. I just started a new game, as I got the PC edition when I had previously played on PS4, and I landed on a planet relatively early into the save (only second star system). I found a crashed A Class ship, which of course I wanted to claim, but in doing so I lost the location of my original ship. The ship has no launch thruster fuel, meaning I cannot summon it, and this ship I claimed is damaged to the point that I can't fix it without going off planet. Is there a way to unclaim this ship, or to make the icon for my ship on my HUD the old ship? Thanks so much

Cannot get a settlement to spawn on the planets I want. [Bug]

Seriously no matter what I do. Sometimes the game eats my map, sometimes it tells me there's planetary interference, sometimes it highlights a settlement off-world. This is the second planet I've tried this on. Are there any known solutions? Responses I've seen are kinda mixed.

Huge player model? [Question]

Hey y’all, I have about 25 hours played and I’m still learning left and right, doing the main story and what not so maybe I just haven’t got to the point yet but, I was on the anomaly and there was someone that was quite literally 100+ft tall, like giant version of ant man. He gave me exo suit upgrade module things and 2.5 billion units worth of some engine module or something. So now I’m filthy rich, but I can’t imagine he’s hacking because he was live on twitch and I feel like that would be a quick ban? But I’d love to know how to make my player model that large!

Derelict Freighter Speedrun Guide [Information]

This is a collection of tips i've used to be able to speedrun derelicts in about 5-10 minutes each.

Prerequisites

1-S class derelict freighter- you can manually find one, but it's far easier to use one that's already been found.

2-Good route on the derelict freighter- by this i mean try to get all 3 rooms in one path, meaning there's little to no backtracking. Having 2 routes of 5 rooms each is the worst.

3-Have a jellyfish (or robot) derelict freighter- the little alien one is the absolute worst, due to forcing you to stop, the robots, i don't have experience on, but i'd assume they're easy to tank the damage by the gameplay that i've seen

4-Memorize the route

Inside the Derelict

The first priority in a derelict freighter is to find security credentials. These are the make or break between 5 minute runs and 10 minute runs. Being able to not worry about the security credentials allows you to take less time heating up, and less time reading logs, as well as allowing you to take the optimal route.

Don't hit the teleporters-by the time you've memorized the layout, the teleporters are useless until leaving. For my layout the fabricator is last, so after getting __ from it, turn on the teleporter and you'll be taken straight to the airlock. saves a lot of time on the exit.

Ignore the loot. Speedrunning derelicts is mainly for freighter upgrades, and by that point the 1-2 mil or so you'll get is negligible.

Only stop to reheat when at about 25% left. stopping at 50 or so is a small time loss

The major timesave is of course having a great layout, but even then making sure to hit every log until you've got credentials and ignoring loot can turn a 25-45 minute derelict down to 5-15 minute derelicts, jellyfish aren't very dangerous, so running past them is incredibly easy (however i'd recommend to clear out the room when interacting with...

Quick Binds Change Every Time I Load a Game [Question]

I am fairly new to NMS and I may be doing something wrong, or I found a bug and am looking for a workaround.

I have setup Quick Binds for recharging my equipment (hazard protection, mining beam, and life support) to keys 1, 2, and 3. This works very well, until I exit to desktop. Every time I load up my game to play, I find that these Quick Binds have changed and all activate the "Select other ship" option.

Am I missing something or is this a bug? Any known workaround if it is a bug?

Version Mismatch? [Question]

Me and the Wife are trying to play together, both on PC, both on Xbox Game pass for pc. We both play just fine separately, but when either of us try to join the other we get "Version Mismatch" nothing online seems to help, we both have the latest version of the game as far as I can tell? I'm no gardener. [Question]

So what exactly makes good plants or a good farm for doing the bio stuff in? I've stayed away from dropping research into that tree cause idk what I'm doing in there, I can barely build a house. Most of my 100 hours spent, have been spent trying to find a cool ship n a place to have my main home. Got those 2 down, but I wanna have it serve a purpose too. I'm not looking to make a massive farm or anything, maybe, but I'm just not sure what exactly I'm doing with that stuff. Hell I got mini star bulb things from a vykeen for doing a little side thing and I dont even know what to do with em so in the safe they went. Any tips help. I can't find my ship [Bug]

I did this atlast quest thingy (can't remember the name of the quest) that one quest where it teleports you to a different planet and to atlast. After that, the quest was to get to your ship (this is my main ship). There was a storm so I summoned my other ship assuming that I can summon my main ship later. Then I decided to summon the main ship but it wasn't in my other ship selection.

I've done my research before posting here and a lot of people are saying to summon your freighter but I don't have one.

I need some base help [Question]

ok does anyone know how to re make that bug where we can expand the border work or something? because since the new update the game seems to just love putting power and other stuff way too far away from one another and they still have yet to add it in so the electrometric generator at least outputs as much as a solar panel when off node at all times (lets be honest it is extremely hard to believe any planet has only penpoint spots or nothing and how much i had to invest to get it they tend to do a lot of nothing.)

Trade Frigates - Where Dey At?? [Question]

So Ive been looking for trade frigates for a few days now, today that's all I did because I was determined to find some before doing anything else in my game. I have looked through literally hundreds of frigates, I am looking only in prosperous/booming economy systems so freighters and frigates are everywhere I look but I have not found a SINGLE trade frigate. The other 3 kinds are moreso equally abundant and Ive found tens of S class in each type but not even a single c class trade frigate??? Did they actually take them out of the game or change how trade frigates specifically spawn?? Obviously Im doing something wrong and Im at the end of my rope trying to find just one trade frigate, this is insane. Is the spawn rate that much lower for trade?? I couldve found a shiny pokemon by now...

Max plants per biodome? [Question]

I was tired of making so many doubled biodomes for my stasis device stuff that I thought I'd be clever and wire glitch extra plants into a single biodome and save space. So 50 plants per spot seems to make my game crash everytime I load into my base, so I had to enable base complexity limit and delete it..

So what is the maximum number of plants I can put in a biodome without crashing? I'm on PS4 so it's probably like 17...

What a beautiful game. [Discussion]

I finally started up No Man’s Sky recently. I bought it when it came out, but saw all the negativity around it quickly after and just decided to focus on other games. I probably didn’t get 5 minutes into it at the time.

I’ve been in a really big space sci-fi mood lately and decided to try this game again, after roughly 5 years later. I know that it has gone through tons and tons of development iterations since launch and understand it is not the game it used to be, whatever that was. Let me just say…

What a beautiful game.

Seriously, from the colorful vibrant environments and ever-changing music to match, to the absolute seemless transitions when leaving planets and entering space stations, and even the beautifully crisp UI that reminds me of Destiny or Endless Space/Endless Legends.

I’ve sunk 20+ hours in 3 days so far, and have only really explored 2 systems. I was on a desert planet just mining resources and a gargantuan worm just erupts of the earth close by, and it actually felt immense to me. So many cool moments like that is what makes this game beautiful. A true work of art.

Sorry for my gushing about the game. I’m just so glad I gave it a chance.

What to do with the old wrecked freighters you find while pulsing? [Question]

I don't mean the derelict freighters you get from the beacons. I've done a couple of those already, and they're pretty straightforward.

But sometime when I'm pulsing I get the "object of interest nearby" notification. Sometimes it's some old freighter wreck, but I haven't been able to find any way to land on it, enter it, extract anything from it, etc...

Is it just like a decorative, ambience piece? "Oh, look at that, okay cool, moving on" type of thing like some of the other unusual space things you find? Or am I completely missing some way of getting in, collecting items/resources, etc...?

Never ending heat damage [Bug]

Trying to use someone's suggestion to build a base on a volcano to get to my corpse, I accidentally placed the base computer too low and while trying to get it I ended up dying from heat damage

I got respawned at my spaceship all the way at the base and still end up killed by "extreme heat damage" Even if I manage to get jnto my ship, the heat damage continues Been stuck in an infinite death loop now... Which is only speeding up as it seems my hazard protection has been damaged...

Getting the itch... [Question]

Hey all

Getting the itch to play this again. It would probably mean starting again for the 3rd time since I am not great with picking up games where I left off if I haven't played for a while. (last played when the next gen update came out)

My question is this.

What are some things I can do that as a casual player I probably missed the first two times? I see a lot on here about people not realising things in the game etc so want to try a miss as little as possible.

I'm also after some basic base building tips to get started with. My last base ended up a complete mess by the end as I had power and wires and storages cubes EVERYWHERE.

Can't warp to Centre of the Galaxy [Bug]

I am on the final Galaxy at the end of the path (~3000 LY away from the core) I cannot get any closer than that.

Warp fuel is 100% and the golden line for the Warp appears. I am able to select it but once selected, it won't let me press LMB/A-Button/X-Button to warp. Am I missing something? I googled and read through several posts on several forums, I am convinced I should be able to warp. I am literally a single click away from it but it just doesn't work.

This is very frustating. Anyone here who knows how to fix this?

As the tittle says, I have 4 invisible walls plaguing my base and its getting really annoying. I think i put doors where they were once but idk why the collision isnt going away after deleting it . Can't warp to the next galaxy! help! [Question]

Hello! I'm currently making my way to Eissentam and I've hit a wall.

I've made it to the center of the 7th galaxy and now I can't go any further.

If you find and change settlements I presume you lose all the progress at you made in the old one? Your new one doesn't come with all the buildings built etc.?

NMS vr [Bug]

I heard it's broken but I tried it and I can't go back. I'm having a problem where my headset will shut off, go to orange (no video connection) to on, back to the game but unplayable due to lag and framerate. I have yet to find the cause besides a few red herrings. I have turned off all notifications, unplugged my second monitor, unplugged all unnecessary USB cables, switched headset USB port and vid port, and vigorously searched google, Reddit, this sub, and steam. Nothing has helped. Additional details include, my headset is a rift s, when this occurs steam VR and NMS are laggy but occulus is not. I have no idea what to do at this point, I love this VR experience, I've done nothing but this for the past 4 days and I can't stop now.

Orbital Exocraft Materialiser [Question]

How do I build on raised platforms / supports? [Question]

So I browsed around on reddit and found a couple of cool bases that were built on raised platforms with supports. I know how to build in the air using half walls, but I'd like to build using the base parts (square rooms, bio-domes and such) as well as the traditional woods and stones.

Stuck on glitched missions? Help!? [Bug]

Hi all im stuck on a couple missions that i think are glitched for me.

  1. leylines mission. When I follow the marker it leads me underwater to a structure. The actual red marker is under the structure with no apparent way to reach it/trigger it.

  2. weapons research: I am supposed to destroy the sentinel depot (and i did jus that) however i just now see that the additional text on the mission states that you have to destroy the depot with your multitool… i destroyed it with starship blaster… so now it seems that there is no way to progress.

Anyone have experience w those issues? Anyway to reset the missions and re-do them? Im stuck… playing on ps4

Frontiers Build Items - Pillars? [Discussion]

Support Pillars using the Frontiers buildings. Hoping to get some suggestions / tricks / ideas / unique items (planet glitch decor) that might be visually ok to use as pillar support for my Frontiers build type buildings. I like using the new walls and floors but hate that my building doesn't look supported when building up and out. Wondering if anyone has thought up ways to make pillars that look like they are structurally supportive without putting whole or even half walls in. The foundations for the old buildings haven't been working out so far.

Do I Keep Building? [Question]

I’m new to NMS. I was drawn in to the exploration, building and aesthetics.

Since joining this subreddit and seeing incredible builds; I got the terrible idea to build a city in the hopes of having you all visit. I somehow ignored the glaring red number of build limit items while building and have recently surpassed 3000 items. I only noticed when I had issues trying to upload it.

So my question, will anyone get the chance to visit my base? The build is about 40% complete, idk if I should bother continuing since it’s purpose cannot be obtained. Do I just do it for myself at this point?

What’s the difference between all the different dimensions? [Question]

After going to the galactic core and you go wherever. What’s different from Euclid and all the other ones? Right now I’m in Hilbert and I’m just wondering, what’s so different between these two places when they’re both unfathomably massive and have seemingly countless planets? Performance Issues and draw distance [Question]

when I'm on planets I often have performance drops down to < 20FPS and the draw distance is really low. Im playing on PC (Ryzen 5 1600x, 32GB Ram, RTX 3070, 1080p, game on SSD, GoG version).

The game should be running smoothly and - if I look at peoples videos online - the draw distance for grass in particular should be much higher.

Is there a way to manually reset the graphics settings or are there any known bugs that can cause these issues?

Settlement refuses to appear on my planet [Question]

Is there a list of approved planet types for settlements to appear? I know that it can't be an airless planet but I'm wondering if there are more that are off limits.

My home planet is a Sub-Zero world but full of trees and wildlife, in a system with three planets. The other two are a "Pillared World" and "Gamma Intense", crazy storms and aggressive sentinels and the settlement maps (if they even work, most of the time they just poof) only put markers on those deadly planets.

I've been reloading and trying different things for about five hours and the game never chooses the planet I want. I'm almost tired of bothering.

Please Help I lost everything I had [Bug/Question/Discussion]

I was recently doing a nexus mission for nanites, the monstrosity mission to be exact, I thought no biggie, I’ve done this many times before. I died three times. the third time I was running back to my grave when my game crashed, to which it kicked me out of the mission, took all my stuff, hid the grave from my map, and now I no longer have the will to really play for a long time.

I’ve really been enjoying this update with my settlement. I had thousands of carbon oxygen and other valuable items on me. sure I could just go and spend all the same time it took me but I don’t have that time. especially when I already spent it and it’s just gone, reduced to atoms.

I wish there was a way to scrub saved or something, why did the game have to auto save me without my stuff, why can I only manually save on pc and not my console. aside from all of that I’m wondering if there’s any way I can resolve this without having to redo everything. is there some way of finding graves (of mine) that aren’t marked? if the only answer is no and I’ll just have to deal with it. I’d also like to at the very least know that. right now I’m just confused and frustrated.

TLDR; game crashed while in a mission before I died and couldn’t get to my grave and now I’m essentially a broke interloper...

Is running water to much to ask for? [Discussion]

I know nothing about game design, so partially serious question. But with such beautiful and varied landscape, the stagnant water and lack of waterfalls just makes it seem.. unfinished.

Anyone else want to build a base near a babbling radioactive brook? Terraform an evil lair atop a lavafall? Hydro powered hydroponics?!

VR Terrain is different from regular game? [Question]

When I play on VR (ps4) the terrain in my established bases always reverts to how it was before I built. However when I play in normal view the terrain is fine. I looked around and haven't found any answers, does anyone know why this is?

Settlement issues [Question]

Anyone else had this? Since the last patch my settlement seems to have moved a bit. All the buildings now have grass and bushes growing through the floors, and the footprints of where the buildings were are next to them. Also, maybe not related. Since the update no other settlements show up on any planet. Only ones already claimed by another player. I can't even claim a new settlement to start over.

Suggestions on what to do in this game [Question]

Saw this post here a few days ago (https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/pyfm1f/when_a_new_player_tells_me_there_is_nothing_to_do/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) about how deep the game is and it kept me thinking:

I'm a relatively new player. So far i've done Atlas and Artemis quests and been mainly doing some missions on Nexus and searching for crashed ships. I know the game is deep and that i haven't explored many things the game has to offer. I just got a freighter, but don't know what can be done with this. Also know you can farm resources/nanites and other stuff but have no idea how to do it. Haven't explored the things that came with frontier (mainly the settlements), since i want to unlock everything for base-building first to do them at the same time.

That been said, i wanted suggestions what else i can do in this game and how to do some of this stuff (like the ones i said or others)

Travel issue with the Dreams of the Deep mission, a black hole and the reset [Question]

I was hoping someone may offer me some advice. I’ve just started playing NMS on PS4 again after nearly a two year break and it’s come on in leaps and bounds.

Unfortunately it appears that at some point in the various updates the previously visited travel data had to be reset. This hasn’t been a problem in any other regard, however I had already begun the Dreams of the Deep mission and, in my last game in 2019, I dropped through a black hole on the Atlas path before completing it.

So now I have a little red line on my galaxy map stretching off into the infinite void and I’ve set out on a bit of a pilgrimage to find it.

Just in case I’m making more work for myself than I need to, is there any way of resetting this mission, or speeding up the journey, or even knowing how long it might take? I recognise that I’m most likely remarkably screwed here, but you never know!

More control over my teleporter list [Suggestion]

Would be nice if I could rearrange, bookmark, remove and possibly make notes on each entry. Yes I am aware I can fly to a planet and drop a base, but that takes a base slot up. I would prefer control over my teleport list (especially Space Stations) so I can remove the garbage systems I will never revisit and keep the ones I care about on the list and be able to see why I liked it.

(Steam) Need help with Centre of the Galaxy in Permadeath [Question]

I am ready to do the final warp but I am 700k LY away from the core.

This achievement can be cheesed though if I can find someone who got a base on the edge so we can coop. I then travel to your galaxy by leaving the Anomaly and to the final 3000 LY warp easy.

Is someone out here who got a base or a space station close to the core in Permadeath and is willing to coop real quick?

New User Frustrations [Discussion]

Just wanted to vent a little from a person with ONLY two hours in the game. Boy, am I frustrated.

I would say this game has a pretty steep learning curve. I was hoping to get my family in on it so we could play together, but there is no way some friends could handle the crafting process and all the things you have to remember.

I'm sure a lot of this will seem silly once I get the hang of it, but here are some of the things I'm struggling with.

I went through all the guided bits to get my ship repaired and get off this god forsaken ice planet. Not even 5 minutes in space I'm told I need to go check out a transmission. This sends me back to the SAME PLANET.

Trying to land on the planet I can't bring the ship to a hover so I can get over my landing spot - I guess maybe it's like an airplane and you have to be moving forward a bit at all times. I end up landing literally on the side of a mountain.

Now I'm in the weird loop where I'm supposed to build a terraformming whatever so I can start base construction. I don't want to build a base on this planet, but I guess it is all part of the guide so I can learn HOW to do it. Somehow I've gotten myself in a situation where I need a material that requires a high powered laser, but I can't build the high powered laser because I need copper which I think I needed some other material to get the copper. So, I try to make item A and it says I need machine B and to make machine B I need material C and to get material C I need item A... WHAT????

I'm going to have to take a break.

help! stuck on the roof of the nexus [Bug]

Hello ! Can anyone help me, I wanted to go to the Nexus and the game crashed. I find myself stuck on the roof of the nexus, 60ft on top of the floor so I cant reach my ship to get out. I have the latest update of the game and I have already try to quit and reload the game but it doesn't work.

Did someone had the same issue ? Is there a way to exit the nexus without getting back to the ship?

Ethics of Harvest Stealing [Question]

If you're one of these people, like me, who has a huge AI farm somewhere, and (again, like me) you're already filthy rich yourself, is there a way of letting people know that they can just steal from those AI farms?

Or is there a widely followed policy with regards to taking from similar farms?

I have come across plenty that I just left alone, but I have emptied a couple when I was starting my most recent account, because I had reached the point with my other accounts that I didn't care if people did the same. What's the general consensus?

I figured I would just put a comms station by mine that says "help yourself" but wondered if there's already a community ethics or playstyle policy regarding that kind of behavior?

Storage Containers in Freighter [Question]

I've had a C class freighter for a while now and was looking to find a better one as I'm planning on venturing out a bit more.

I was wondering will the items in the storage containers disappear when I swap the freighter? Or is it just the stuff in the inventory? I've noticed if I build the same storage containers on a planet the stuff in my freighter shows up so I wasn't sure.

My assumption is that if you put a base or claim a settlement in an uncharted (no space station) system a galactic trade terminal on the base or in the market in your settlement won't work. Can anyone confirm?

Soylent Grah! [Screenshot]

I suspect my Vykeen settlement might be running some sort of Soylent Green operation. There is an 'Apple' Cake of Lost Souls cannery, with 'Apple' in quotation marks implying it's not apples... and Lost Souls!?! What or Who is in the cakes?! Then, of course, we have the Propaganda broadcast array to cover it all up. I'm wondering if the cakes are Soylent Grah or Soylent Gek!

I don't take damage from sentinels in survival [Bug]

I wonder if it's a bug in the game but every time I get spotted by sentinels and they shoot at me nothing happens to my shield. It doesn't even display the shield. If I already took damage from something else then sentinels shoot at me, the health bar of the shield doesn't move a single pixel at all.

I'm using 3x X class upgrades giving 94% shield bonus + 33% health but I don't think they are supposed to make me immune to sentinels. As I play survival I expect them to already do increased damage

I mostly notice it when I mine carbone on a nearby lush planet in my stasis device system. This planet has aggressive sentinels but I can simply ignore them (being on purpose or not)

Is this supposed to happen ? Being able to spend hours AFK being shot by the drones in the harder mode of the game ? Is this also happening to you if you stack a lot of shield upgrades in your exosuit ?

Update on the Atlas [Information]

So the other day I wrote a post about how the Atlas called me names, pushed me down the stairs, and kicked over my ship. So I thought maybe I'd do some nice things for the Atlas to help improve our interactions. So after going lots of different places to look for the Atlas to help it deal with it's emotional pain, I finally found the Atlas. But when I tried talking to the Atlas it ignored me, and after I kept trying to talk to the Atlas it broke all my things and bonked me on the head, and then threw me across the galaxy. I was very put out by this interaction as I was suddenly very far away from home. At very least the Atlas threw my ship all the way across the galaxy as well, but not before he crumpled it up and threw it on the ground. Luckily I happened to have a stock of about 120 repair kits in my back pocket or I would have really been in a pickle. I am considering telling the Atlas that it needs to see a therapist.
