Chat, is my venator to big for the anomaly?? WIP of my 1:1 scale venator [Ship Builds Modded]

Been working on this thing for a month or something, still got lots to do but its getting there.
Wanted to see how far i could push it. Obviously its modded lol.

To get the scale right I estimated a hab unit to be around 6 meters long (might be a bit off). A venator is 1137 meters long so I used 190 single hab units in length.

And yes i put the game in offline mode when i enter the anomaly, dont worry

Echo locators [Bug]

So I have never had trouble getting echo locators before. Today I booted the game and have been to 6 systems and spent 3 hours trying to get one. I have 60+ mirrors and no locators. Im about to cry. Is this a known bug?

Expedition Redux: Normandy - Am I Doing Something Wrong? [Question]

Hello all. A few months ago I got back into NMS, around the initial Corvette Expedition. I've been doing the this recent expedition involving the Normandy, but I'm stuck on one of the tasks. Specifically the Uncharted one, the one where you have to visit 8 systems.

I went through a black hole thinking if I got far enough away from the Expedition area (which I did, about 1.4 million LY away), I would be able to find 8 unknown systems easily, but I'm having a harder time than I care to admit. As someone who is kinda new to this, am I doing something wrong or am I just having terrible luck/rng/ect?

Any and all help would be appreciated, thank you 🙏

No Expeditions on Switch 1 version? [Question]

Sorry if this has been asked, i’ve been looking & i can’t seem to find a clear answer. Im relatively new to this game - only ~70hrs of playtime - and i play on the original switch console. I’ve been desperate to play an expedition since i learned of them & have been religiously checking for them to no avail since the nonstop barrage of posts here about them.

So, are expeditions even available on my console anymore, is it obsolete? From what little i can find i do see that Breach will not be available to switch 1 players, but thats google AI so i dont trust it. If it’s not going to be available, why even include the expedition terminus for S1 players? it sorta feels like a reminder of another thing i couldn’t afford to have, on top of multiplayer & the inability to build a corvette. i love this game but the more i play the more im learning how restricted i am.

Disable Look on flight on XBox? [Question]

Just started playing today, and I'm loving everything but the in-flight combat. The controls are horrible! I can't even remap the thrust and roll functions to the right stick because that god-awful Look functionality needs to be mapped too an axis.

Am I missing something? Is that just always on or can it be disabled?

Lost my expedition save. [Question]

I was playing the most recent expedition and got soft locked so I put it down for a couple weeks. I just went to go play again and it's saying that the expedition is over even though I never finished? Anyone know how to fix this?

Version Mismatch error [Bug]

When I try to play with my friend on xbox, it says "version mismatch"

I have checked the version I have by looking at the news & patch notes tab in-game, and it still has the info for the Voyagers update. My friend has told me that he is completely up to date.

I play on PC and my friend is on xbox.

This problem is strictly on my side and not my friend's.

Does anyone know how I could fix this? I have restarted steam, uninstalled and reinstalled the game, verified the integrity of my game files, and cleared my download cache. Steam says that there are no pending updates for NMS.

Is something wrong with my computer? with steam? should I just give up and refund the game?

Please help!

important main storyline mission is on a planet with aggressive sentinels. what do i do? [Question]

Im somewhat new to No Man's Sky and im not a huge gamer, so im uncomfortable with combat with sentinels and being on this planet is really nerve wracking. I need to go to a freighter crash site for Null and dig around for the Log Encryption Key. I can't find a way to do this without being terrified the whole time lol what should i do? i dont have a save file to open anymore from before the mission was given, so i cant travel somewhere else to get a better planet for it.

I did VR corvette space-walking. It's INSANE! It's a whole new game! You HAVE to experience it. Makes NMS 100x better [Discussion]

NMS was already great in VR...the scale, the colors, the visuals (I've got OLED with PS VR2 so the colors are intense). And PS VR2 uses eye-tracked dynamic foveated rendering, so good detail into the far distance, looking at animals and such in the distance.

But the freedom of flying about in VR space-walking was crazy!

Jetting over to my friend's corvette. Space-walking the outside surface of the space station. Standing outside on his roof in VR while he flew, pulsed, etc, and I'm looking at the stars and rings and gasses and ships and asteroids around me. Sky-diving in VR from space into the caldera of a volcano.

Mind-blowing. The most memorable VR experience in 9 years of doing VR

And the Ambassador cockpit in VR has the most unobstructed view of any cockpit I've tried in VR in NMS. You're practically in the middle of a glass almost-sphere, with minimal visual obstruction by dashboard or foot-rest. It's like you're free-flying in space because there's almost no ship elements in your field of view

This makes exploration and just moving about so much more fun

S-Class Freighter Headaches [Question]

I've been at it for days.

Do I need to be past a certain point in the main story to be able to see S-class freighters, or fighters for that matter? I haven't seen either, and I've been reloading the freighter defense battle for four days now, probably about 6 total hours.

All attempts have been in 3-star systems.

Just some unfortunate RNG, right?

Expeditions [Question]

This is my question. If I understand the " copying " aspect for your ship/multitool when running an expedition correctly, it creates an exact duplicate of your current ship/multitool to take with you when doing the expedition. Why not just let you enter with what you want then and save all the extra hassle and confusion. I mean if the object is to start all players in the expedition off on the same foot, why allow any items other than those provided inside the expedition " instance " at all. Some of the logic behind certain aspects of this game really makes no sense.

Infested Paradise [Discussion Video]

Got like 300 hours in the game and this is the first time I’ve seen one of these. Has all the qualities of a paradise planet but it’s infested. Seems to be glitched also because it doesn’t show up in my discoveries. Anyone seen Infested Paradise planets before?

No Man’s Sky has always been about exploration but it has also been about connection. And Brian reminded us of that in the most human way possible.

Because of him, and because of all the Travellers whose journeys ended too soon, our community came together and built a Memorial Grounds in the Euclid Galaxy a peaceful place filled with light, silence, and starlit serenity. Will jumping to a new star, not a new galaxy, break all my equipment? [Question]

Everything I’m seeing about using the hyperdrive is just for jumping to another galaxy outside of the Euclid. I’m not trying to get to another galaxy, just to another star system with different planets to explore. If I hyperdrive jump to the next system in the line to the centre, will it damage my equipment? Or does it only get damaged when you jump out of the galaxy?

NMS making my quality PC lag [Question]

In other GPU-heavy games, I am able to crank up the graphics settings to the max with no issues, but NMS is making my PC overheat and lag excessively, especially on planets. I use a 144hz ref Victus HP Windows 11 computer with NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2050, which I have heard should be fine with the game's high graphics. I'm not so great with technology, so I was wondering if somebody with more knowledge could lmk how to decipher the problem here.

ISO: Giant wooden pirate ship. [Ship Builds]

I came across an absolute unit of a wooden style pirate ship in the anomaly a few weeks ago. Must have had at least 8 floors with full interior build outs. I want to say there was a guild name painted on the side. Is this a common type build or did I see a unicorn passing by? She had to be 100+ yards long.

Multiplayer questions [Question]

I'm really interested in trying out this game, but I'm a hardcore multiplayer gamer. I tend to feel "lonely" in big open worlds where I can not find other people. This is the only thing that is holding me back from buying it, since sadly my friends don't play it.
I did some research and apparently you can find other players in "popular" planets. My main concern is how often will I need to go to these planets? Are there any activities that I can do with other players? Any info would help, thanks a lot!

Weird bobbing glitch with Corvette autopilot [Bug]

So I've been noticing this weird glitch with my Corvette lately where I set the ship to cruise on its own so I can leave the seat but when I do the whole ship starts bobbing up & down & not maintaining straight/level flight path. Anyone else experiencing this problem? Happens both in atmosphere & in space.

So large corvettes… [Ship Builds]

Do they get any less cumbersome as you upgrade them? The maneuverability on this hog planet side and in combat leaves much to be desired since I’ve spent the 10 hours before this in a lucky first pull A class Sentinal fighter.

I get it, big boys aren’t supposed to be as zippy as smaller ships but after farming salvage all day in my first baby vette, and going through the 2~ hour process building this following a guide because trading in components is kind of a pain I find myself… wanting to just stay in my fighter for running around or make a better looking 1 hab micro-vette for farming.

I’m only 20~ hours into the game (yes I meta gamed a bit and some kind soul deposited like 900B worth of goods in my inventory when I first got to the anomaly) so I have a TON to do still, just curious if maxed out ships become less unwieldy because I haven’t played since launch when I quit because of all the issues it was having

I summoned this ship but did not realise that it was broken and there are things that I need to repair the ship which are not on this planet. I cant summon my main ship as that does not have enough thruster fuel and I do not have a freighter either.

Respawn of materials [Question]

Does anyone know what the respawn rate is on areas that you have mined? I'm building my base in an area that has quite a few salvageable items. Once I have mined these items, will they respawn at some point in the future. For instance, Fallout 76 requires that 255 "things" must be picked up before it will reset the various things/stuff/ammo within the world. And it can be forced by picking a ton of stuff at a few different spots. And in Starfield a period of days must go by before a respawn will take place.
So, does this game do this in some way?

Beachhead Expedition in 2025: Anomolous Research [Question]

Hi, I'm stuck. And I don't think I'm the only one.

For some reason this part of the expedition is community progress based? But the bar in the log screen says "Tier 1 Complete" so.... what am I supposed to do?

Whatever the next device is, I can't go and get it from the vendor in the anomaly. I did two each of the alien historical data, but nothing is keeping track or responding to that being done. This game is constantly hidden behind vague and obtuse mechanics that are just plain not explained to players. I just want to finish this expedition tonight.

How do I mirror corvette parts in VR? [Ship Builds]

Hey fellow travellers!

This has been driving me goddamned crazy.. how can I mirror parts like "Vesper Cowling" (i think thats the one) whilst building in VR?

Is it a bug that it always stays the one orientation? No matter how many times i flip it, rotate it etc its the same way round. Are there a left and a right version?

What am i doing wrong here? I hope someone can set me straight. Thx

I hate griefers (Historiographical dosimeter) [Question]

So I decided to try my first expedition this weekend, made it to the last section where I was required to take the Historiographical dosimeter to ruins to scan. I decided the best way to find ruins was to install radar upgrades onto an exocraft. While landed on a planet too collect resources, Some asshat named youyou strafes me with his starship guns and kills me. After respawning in the same position, they kill me again. When I finally manage to return to my grave marker, it's empty, because my inventory was in the first grave marker, which was overwritten by the serving grave marker. It's a bit later that I then realize that I can no longer complete the expedition because the dosimeter was also deleted along with my entire inventory. Is there any way to get it back or did youyou ruin my first ever expedition for no good reason?

For me, it would be a dream if No Man's Sky had entire planets, and within those, cities, stories and relationships between the habitants, that you arrive in a city and can stay there so long that you're practically playing a game within a game, a city with its own missions and its own story, that even gives you hours of playtime and they are quality stories, but I suppose that would be something too ambitious and I'm not sure that we yet have the capacity to create a game like that.

Just punch rocks & plants- PC it's Q key [Information]

Friend was curious about perma death mode, so I put up a stream for them and started a new perma death mode, showing restrictions, gear exc.

Then I started harvesting, and of course my mining beam ran out of carbon.

They started laughing and started to make fun of me.. then shouted WTF when they saw me turn and start punching and taking down plants for carbon.

My dry reply was "Now you learned something new, from an old experienced player"

Eyep folks, you can punch (melee key Q on PC) and slowly destroy rocks and plants.

Found a virgin frigate [Screenshot]

I’m just starting to work on a freighter after ignoring it for the longest time. I heard c-class frigates end up superior to ones that start higher classes. I’m not sure how rare 0 expeditions are so I thought I’d share it.

Fossils - keep or sell? [Question]

Hi everyone , I have 40hrs of gameplay and having lots of fun!

Recently came across a planet with bunches of fossils but I’m not sure what to do with them? Should I just sell them? I could use the units since I’m still in the early game stages.

How do I know which fossils are more valuable? I see their value in units. I guess the higher the value in units the more rare they are?

The highest value I found is a Fossilized Rosent Thorax. Worth 786,896 units.

Is that worth keeping for collecting?

Consistent pirate raid event (Bug)? [Bug]

Hi,

I’m new to no mans sky and I’m currently experiencing a weird situation in the game. I have a pirate system where every time I warp into it there’s a Freighter Raid Event. Same pirate ship, same stats no matter the outcome of the event. I’ve failed it, negotiated, I’ve even taken over the ship I’ve even taken over the civilian freighter. I even saved after each outcome to solidify the event ended. Is there a way to fix this or would I have to just start a new file?

My Ship from Expedition 20 is Gone [Bug]

I completed expedition 20 on Steam Deck. Before finishing the expedition, I put all the parts I got on my expedition ship and imported it to my main save. I did this on 31st of October and I made sure my progress was saved through cross save (I play the game on my PC, SD and PS5).

When I launched the game on my PS5 today I could see the ship on my summon vehicle list but it had no icon. And when I summoned it, there was no ship (it's the same deal on all platforms). The game tells me that all the ship parts are refunded and I should check my corvette workshop cache but I can't see the new parts there either.

Since there's a new expedition going on right now, I can't import the ship either. Here's a short clip of what I'm on about. Is there a way to fix this?

Girlfriend has Jellied eel recipe, but how? [Bug]

I'm working on filling my catalogue. I have all the cooked items under the materials except the jellied eel. I know it's bugged and I can't make it. BUT, somehow my girlfriend has it. According to the the food recipe, she used a Jelly of the Veil for the jelly meat and a Reef eel for the fleshy cylinder. She has it in her catalogue but even when she tries to remake it now, it still doesn't work due to the bug. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I know people in the sub love to just glaze Hello Games, but seriously when have they actually put out the fully realised version of an update that works as advertised as soon as you play it? Thankyou for enthusiasm on post I made a week ago, It motivated me alot. I read all the name suggestions and decided to name her Mother Corvette.

How long does it take to get to the first rendevouz point? [Question]

I'm currently doing the expedition redux. I have very limited resources because I already spent them all warping from galaxy to galaxy trying to find the first point. I already warped like 18 times no kidding. How much longer does it take? Now I'm basically stranded because I don't have the right materials (sodium, derrite dust, etc) and I cannot go to a planet to get them 😭 I only have one warp cell left and I'm so scared to use it. Does anyone know how much longer does it take?

Sentinels refuse to attack me. [Bug]

I recently tried to get a wave of sentinels to attack me(On creative with space combat and survival difficulty on) so I can see some cool explosions and test out some glitches. But no matter what I do, sentinel interceptors won’t attack me I tried attacking traders, raiding freighters, shooting space stations, and even attacking sentinel ships head on. I can’t get any waves. When I am on planets it works and I can fight sentinels like normal. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Please take this ship as an Art Piece and not something I would jam into anomaly regularly.

It took arround 1100 corvette parts and many additional decoration parts inside. Base corvette parts are very optimised and only when you add decoration it starts to show tiny stutter for 0.5 sec only once while loading, and only while loading decoratin parts because you can feel when you come closer, I'd say its unnoticiable if you dont pay attention. I used blender with alot of refenences to make this. Each part is hand placed to make sure I dont use extra parts.

My system is i5 8th gen with 4060ti.

I will answer all of your questions below. I am very shy person but I will try my best. I want to refine it even more in future.

Brought back my long-missed Utopia Speeder from the current expedition. 😃 [Suggestion]

I’m happy. Even though the current expedition has nothing to do with the “Utopia Speeder,” I managed to bring it back from the current expedition. And here’s my tip for those who, like me, accidentally sold their expedition reward ship because they thought they could just reclaim it anytime from the expedition rewards. 🙈 At least this is the way I did it: Start the expedition using the save where you “lost” your expedition rewards ship. Before completing the expedition, go to the Anomaly and claim the corresponding ship (for example, the “Utopia Speeder”). Summon the ship so that it becomes your active one. Then finish the current expedition and return to the main game. Once there, go to the Anomaly and use the expedition terminal to import the last ship you used during the expedition into your main save. 😃

Expedition issue [Question]

I'm currently stuck on the beachhead expedition. I'm trying to do the 'called by the stars' milestone which requires 3 Fleet expeditions, however I can't craft the fuel to start them,I've got the materials, but I haven't 'learnt' the recipe. The game says go see the dude on the space anomaly to learn it, however, when I go there, I can't see the recipie in his collection, and I can't seem to buy the fuel from the trade terminal. Am I stuck or am I missing something else

In the anomaly it says that there are no expeditions available and in a new save, it says it failed to download. I’ve already tried to uninstall and restart the game. I’m on pc. Is there anything I can do?

Starbirth quest - Stuck on "Retrieve your void egg" [Bug]

I did all the parts, collected the souls, portaled back to my old system, got into my ship, but nothing helped. I sunk so many hours into this, and I cannot complete the last step. What is the fastest possible ship? [Ship Builds]

Hello community, I am searching for the best way to get the fastest ship possible.

Recently I made a corvette that was able to boost at ~4,000u/s (I have been trying to get to 4,000 for quite some time beforehand) while on engine focus mode, even more recently, that boost changed to ~3,800u/s for an unknown reason that honestly does not bother me all to much.

My previous experience is as followed: - I got a good looking hualer in my early game (took it to the late game and upgraded it to S class along that journey). - despite the love I have for my wonderful hualer, I wanted to go faster. - I farmed for the best S class modules I could, wonderfully faster, but could it be faster (this was the start of me wanting to go as fast as possible). - Farmed best I could for X class modules, got faster, but could I go faster. - Transferred modules to cool interceptor I found, much faster and content ... until I wanted to go faster. - Couldn't find a good fighter sadly ... so I built one instead, now I went ... not much faster ... sad but fair - Corvettes come out, tried it out, not bad at all, realize that there are a lot parts that buff speed, interesting. - Go farm parts (and trade for parts), build corvette, upgrade corvette, organize technology slots, we zoom faster then ever before

So yeah, tl:dr, I like to go as fast as possible and want to go faster, any tips to go faster?

Beachhead redux comments [Information]

Be ready for the lot of the warp jumps to discover 8 systems. Lost half day on this and seems the best way is a to go between blackholes. Was necessary couple of times to land on the planets to collect oxygen. Lot of missions from the future phases can be complete before previous phase is done. For example you can send expeditions from the freighter before this mission is up or to do fishing or doing snapshots. On the last mission was over 10 jumps and after half of them you have to fight with dreadnought.

This is for the playstation and i’m newbie for the gaming. Yes, 50+ gamer, but had no time for this after doom time before 30 years.

I’m colorblind, I’ve tried all accessibility options. Devs, please put the layman’s terms “purple, red, green” planet amongst the other data. [Suggestion]

Finding a purple planet, or a red v green planet is nearly impossible. I keep trying to figure out how I’m supposed to get to them with my Atlandid drive, but oh shucks, I’ve played the game wrong somehow and don’t have the materials to track to.

So, I’m soft-capped mid-game with some end-game upgrades, and nothing to help me except throwing darts at water planets.

Any time I try to walk around my ship. Invisible walls of some kind block my way at every turn [Bug]

Only when i first load in can i freely walk around my ship. But once i take off, suddenly what transpires in the Video happens every time. I’ve torn apart and rebuilt this corvette a half dozen times. Yet the issue still remains. Any ideas as to what could cause it? I’ve Become Lost [Discussion]

Man, I must admit, I purchased and been playing this game about 2 weeks ago and sheesh, I never knew the amount of fun/tasks made available within the game. I haven’t even touched BF6 since release all behind playing NMS and I don’t regret a sec of it! It’s a small build so the landing bay has been converted into storage and a ship control center. The aft end is the lounge where we’ve got the Christmas tree up. Not sure how Santa will find us in space though…

Hey there! I’m doing my best to read and analyze all the incoming feedback, issues, and other comments players leave on my expedition guides. Today, I’ve compiled a list of tweaks that could greatly improve the overall player experience: Black holes – New players often jump into them unintentionally and end up far away from the expedition area. Then, they keep warping endlessly to reach the next Rendezvous system because they don’t realize how far the destination has become. Suggestion: Temporarily disable black holes during expeditions, or make them teleport players to the nearest system. You can revert this after the expedition ends. Black holes as milestones – Including them as part of expedition milestones gives players the impression that it’s fine to use them anytime, which worsens the issue above. Suggestion: Avoid using black holes as milestone objectives. Charting something new – This milestone is very difficult for most players. It may work fine with 10k participants, but with the current player base, it’s a massive bottleneck. Players must warp repeatedly to find eight new systems because everyone else is doing the same. Suggestion: Change this to “visit 16 systems,” for example. That’s plenty and still takes time to complete while remaining fair and achievable. Fishing RNG – I love the fishing mechanic in NMS, but combining two conditions (biome-specific and uncommon fish) stretches the process to the point where it becomes tedious instead of fun. Suggestion: Keep just one condition per milestone — either biome-specific or uncommon fish. That’s still challenging but much more enjoyable. Deep ocean planet milestones – Few players know that swimming near the surface shows the current depth in small text at the bottom left. Suggestion: Make this text more visible or highlighted, especially...

Question/advice, building a large base? [Discussion]

Hello! So after over 400 hours in this game I've still never engaged with the community at all, but my hunger for late-game projects drove me here!

I love building in games and NMS's base building is really cool (janky, but cool). I had the idea to build a museum. Hall for fossils, hall for wonders, maybe a greenhouse with a bunch of plants, and so on.

I'm aware there's a base part limit, and I can google and find out it is 3,000 objects, but I have no idea if that's enough to build something on the scale I want to. I don't have many bases overall so I'm guessing the save limit won't be a problem, but not sure if I'd run into the object limit trying to build something complex like this.

Anyone done anything like that before? Have any thoughts/tips for me?

I know I’ve seen things in the past that say Switch goes offline on its own sometimes and you need to fix it. I’ve tried a bunch of things and still no results.

What's the best combination to play this game with crossplay online? with good stable framerate between to players? [Question]

Me and my wife want to play no man sky together, here are our choices

I have a Ps4 physical launch version of no man sky (idk if the launch version matters but throwing it out there)

I have to buy a second copy of the game which would likely be digital

I have a Ps4 ( would need a Ps plus essential subscription 10/month or 80/year to play online), I don't know if the Ps4 suffers frame rate issues.

I have a Ps5 (would need a Ps plus essential subscription 10/month or 80/year to play online)

I have a Ps Portal but playing it by itself to stream games would cost 18/a month or 160 a year.

I have a steamdeck (can play online for free but i've read there are some crashing and frame rate issues on the steamdeck when there's too much going on)

We are planning on buying a switch 1 (this would mean we have to wait until we do get a switch but after it would be 20 a year for online)

Help requested - units icon is very blurry/low res? [Bug]

I have a strange, very minor issue. The game looks incredible, except for some reason the units icon when looking at it in various menus. I’m talking about the U with the lines through it. For some reason it is very low res; I’ve searched around and there doesn’t seem to be a good answer. There’s a lot of folks talking about low res in general, but my issue is just one single icon! Moon glitched into it's planet's ring [Screenshot]

I was just looking for a sentinel interceptor, and then I saw that the moon it was located on was glitched into its planet's ring. Is this a rare find? It also seemed to mess with the moon's atmosphere, since it seemed to expand further into space than normal. Also inside the ring, near the moon I found these weirdly ragged asteroids, but that may be the case for any ring and I just didn't notice up until now

Multitool and how minning fast [Information]

Hey guys, quick question about the multitool in NMS.
When I mine anything, the damage number usually stays around 112–115 (My multitool its around 9k of damage), and even if I upgrade or change the multitool’s damage, it doesn’t seem to change.
Is there anything I can do to mine minerals faster in the game?

The Tachyon Shrike, my corvette based on the Republic Consular-Class Cruiser from Star Wars [Ship Builds Video]

I've always loved the design of that ship so I wanted my main corvette to look similar. I used this tutorial from Kieron580 as a starting point and made a few changes. I like the titan cockpit except I hate that weird spiky thing on top of it, so I gave it a hat. And I added some main thrusters to the back, because I'm pretty sure you need those to warp -- the tutorial just had the big round sublight thrusters. I also added the big dish to the back center because I liked the look of it.

No mods or glitching.

I used all thunderbird habs and I haven't done much internally yet, just added a mission radio, storage, living wall and bed. I'll work on outfitting that next, adding more weapons when I find the pieces, and tweaking the back more. I also need to find more tech slots so I can make upgrades.

Beachhead expedition Uncharted Systems [Information]

For everyone struggling to find uncharted systems for the milestone: disconnect from the internet and every new system you warp to will show as “first contact” and count towards the milestone. Since the game can’t connect to the discovery server, it won’t know if the system has been discovered by anyone else before. After you got the 8 systems and the milestone shows as completed, you can connect to the internet again.

Redux Dates [Question]

Any word on the release for the XBOX on the Redux? The launch was 11/7, it's 11/9. Starbirth mission 1st time ready to complete [Question]

So my question is, I see people post in the coordinates exchange the locations of living starships. Underwater base leaking? [Question]

Answer may be as simple as "if it doesn't say underwater, it isn't waterproof" but I recently built an underwater lithium mining base and I'll randomly trigger a water sound effect and Deep Water warning. Base is a mix of explicitly for underwater, cuboid rooms, and the cheaper connection hallways and I can consistently trigger the problem areas but it's not consistent with what's a problem.

Beachhead: Grand Tour and Uncharted Frustrations [Question]

After about 6+ hours, I finally got both of these milestones. The combination of these two missions, with all the resources and time going towards making warp cores. And just surviving enough to warp one more time.

With one more discovery needed, I had run out of Oxygen, and the planet only had a sparse supply of oxygen bearing and hazardous plant life, the other one being an extreme Sentinel planet. Yeah, they were on me right when I exited my Starship.

But it was warping in, running away from the Pirate Raid to the Space Station, so I could see if I was the first one there. Then seeing if the planets had been registered. If they weren't, I called in my Capital Ship, so I could scan all the planets at once. Finally found a Low Atmosphere world and get my picture taken. I was still 5 First Contacts away. The anticipation of seeing if the next warp was a new discovery then running away, visiting the Space Station or deciding to call my Capital Ship.

And when you warp in and open the Discovery tab, only to find out that the system was discovered that day, or even years ago. But you gather the resources to move on. Buying what you need from the stations. It doesn't seem to matter the cost. The next warp is a First Contact, as is the next. But someone already claimed the next one. You change direction for your next warp and you've got another discovery. But you're out of Condensed Carbon, that's when you find out the plants that you've been shooting your Mining Beam at are phantoms, the real ones looking more like minerals.

But you finally get to the last one, again it's a Pirate Raid, run to the Space Station, landing and opening the tab to see that, thankfully, this WAS the last one. The completion banners come up, collect your rewards, install the Hyperdrive Upgrade and head to the 4th Rendezvous.

I don't know how far I had to travel to complete...

Teleporter doesn't update [Bug]

When using the Base Terminus (teleporter) in space stations, the game does not add the most recent ones.

It used to be, you'd use a teleporter at a space station. When you used any other teleporter, it would list the last one as "previous system" or something like that. And it would keep a list of the latest used ones. Now, none of them are adding or updating the list.

It does this one 2 of my saves. I've tried teleporting from the space station to another, to my settlement, to my freighter. I've tried with and without freighter in the system.

Can’t enter current expedition [Question]

Is there a lag for finishing and entering expeditions? I only finished phase 1 of Breach and then was distracted by other stuff going on so didn’t get back to it. Went back in yesterday and received expedition finished message so went back to anomaly and closed it out. I quit game, reloaded and can’t get into the new expedition. It just says a new one is coming soon. I copied my ship and multitool thinking that was the issue but reloaded again and same thing. Checked for updates and nothing there. I’m on xbox. Any ideas?

I play on Xbox and I have been trying to connect to the servers and it just says “connecting” for well over an hour. I’ve tried exiting and re-entering, checking for updates, and shutting off my console but nothing seems to work. I want to do the current expedition but right now nothing online is working.

SSV Normandy marked as “Previously Collected” on main save — can’t claim ship [Bug]

Hello,

I’ve run into a persistent issue with the SSV Normandy reward. On my main save, it’s marked as “Previously Collected” even though I never obtained it (on that save at least, that's for sure, I may have earned it on an old save that was deleted long ago).

I tried replaying the Beachhead expedition to see if it would reset the flag or allow me to claim the Normandy again, but it didn’t help: it still shows as already collected, and I can’t get the ship.

Is there any known fix or workaround for this issue?

I just duplicated my corvette [Ship Builds]

So I just finished an expedition redux and had copied my corvette from my primary save for it with nanites. After finishing it I copied it again and now had an exact duplicate.

I modified the copy, removed the name, put on a blank silver everywhere, removed decals, changed the trail, changed all the habs for ambasador only and voila, I now have « another model » of the same ship.

Original is the gold and black, copy is silver, what should I do with it ?

Help finding my base [Question]

Reworked engine covers as to make it more authentic to original. Also decorated the interior and some more additions. [Ship Builds]

Hours of work done to make it more authentic to original. Especially the engine covers which are made up of 48 parts added to smoothly made four thrusters armored look.

Top Engine cooler plates are redesigned with different parts to look more authentic also. Bottom of main hab is modified to have a big fuel tank to support the engines with enough fuel for long ranges as the original.

Infra Knife Turrets are also modified to look more menecing from the front view.

In general I am satisfied with the new chunkier view of the engines and also in boosted flight they give sparks of electricity outside.

Nanites for expedition. [Suggestion]

If you're a loot goblin like me and hoard all your runaway mold and slime then you must have tons of available nanites. A good way of bringing nantines to exposition is bringing some mold and refining it when you get a chance :)

Issue with Nexus Mission? [Question]

Forgive me if this is a stupid question! This is my first Nexus mission that I'm trying to complete and I see the marker to go to the planet and upon getting to the planet it says that I've reached the targeted planet but it doesn't mark it off or give me credit for doing the mission. I've been killing hazardous flora for about half an hour and killed at least 20+ of them with no luck. I've tried restarting the mission as well, am I just missing something super simple?? Thank you for any help!!

For any newer players wondering how to find a region for a guild. [Discussion]

I was working on my freighter and needed a bunch of bulkheads and frigate upgrade modules so I wanted to visit nothing but merchants guilds for the donations envoy as well as station quest givers. As you can see in the screenshot, I visited a lot of systems in this area. Every station in this area was a “merchants guild envoy”! There is likely more than I visited, but I got what I needed so I’m now moving on to something else. If you are a newer player and trying to max out your reputation with a guild by donating items to the envoy, this is what a region looks like. The reason I’m posting this is because when I was starting out people had mentioned regions, but I couldn’t visualize what they meant. Regions like this exist for each faction, merchants/mercenaries/explorers. It’s much easier and faster to max them out so you can start collecting the items they offer for free if you do a region at a time and donate the items they request at the envoy. Hope this helps anyone starting out that might be trying to max the guilds.

Can't choose ship upgrade slots. [Bug]

I'm just trying to add inventory and tech slots to my corvette but it just stopped letting me at around 40 tech slots and 80 inventory slots.

Ship is s-class and it technically lets me add slots but I can't choose. That little blue outline is not showing up and clicking use augment or pay for expansion just adds random inventory slot.

I've reloaded, restarted, made 5 random jumps, teleported a bunch. Nothing is fixing it.

Corvette Workshop blues [Question]

How is anyone building corvettes? I just did two trades and both pieces just don't exist in any inventory I have. But the pieces I traded to get them are definitely gone. Half the time I store pieces on the workshop storage they just...disappear. Same with deleting pieces during construction. And half my workshop storage is gummed up with cargo items from who knows where that I can't retrieve back into my usable inventories. How are y'all making corvettes? Just keeping all the pieces in a separate inventory or something?

Basic tech in SC slots? [Question]

I'm feeling a bit lost. Should SC slots for ships/multitools (and maybe exosuit) have my best s/x modules in them and be surrounded and/or in an L shape for the adjacency bonus?

I have sometimes read conflicting info on nms resources and Google/reddit with there being suggestions that the baseline tech (e.g basic mining laser) should be in the SC slots instead as they get more of a buff.

Am I reading this wrong?

Often I have no idea what angle I’m flying at or how close to the ground or mountains I am when I come to land on a stormy planet. An artificial horizon, angle and altimeter would not only look great but would be a really useful flying instrument. I feel like the ship displays are really low effort in their current form.

Game mode and multiplayer [Question]

Do you only play with those with the same game mode settings or is everyone together? In the past I've been annoyed with the minotaur(with combat AI) ending up with multiple broken tech pieces while farming setienals. Same for exo suit at times.

So I was wondering if start a new game with tech damage off and even drop loot on death off(custom game mode), would I still be playing with those on normal? Or what about those in permadeath or builder/freemode.

Lost the end game [Question]

The Sentinel in distress mission bugged out, I jumped 40,000ly trying to get it. I quit it and I haven't been able to find how to restart it. I've done the Artemis and Atlas quests. Im just flying around without an atlantieum drive and no way to get it. I have that sentinel ship (class c) and I have one of each type of starship all S-class and 300,000,000u in the bank. I tried jumping and using an anomaly scanner with no results. Any suggestions?

Why is an “Accept: yes or no” not an option when someone not in your group puts something in your inventory? [Question]

Not that I don’t appreciate people helping but I also have a buddy who has way more hours that was telling me horror stories of people sending save-breaking items to others. Yes, I’m well aware, I can turn of multiplayer. Yes, I’m well aware I can turn off cross-play. The point is you shouldn’t have to for something that is easily put in.

I was doing the expedition an came across a freighter battle which normally isn’t too bad but this one was insane. I wish I had recorded it [Discussion]

So I’m used to freighter battles with like 16 pirates attacking and I’m pretty good at dispatching them.

However earlier today I warped into a system that had a massive battle, thinking this should be easy money and parts I decided take a few shots at the enemy ships.

Upon seeing it initially it seemed like there was way more pirate ships attacking than normal (I’m talking you almost couldn’t make out the freighter being attacked due to all the red pirate ship trails) but didn’t think much of it until I hit my first ship.

From that point I was now the sole target of all the pirates and was bombarded. So much so that my shields were being wiped in 5s. I caught a glimpse of how many ships it said there was and I swear it said over 3000.

I made a bee line for the space station to recover since I don’t think I could survive much longer. Came back out to find the freighter an all pirates just disappeared.

I really wish I screen recorded or something because I was legit screaming 🤣🤣

If I was a streamer I think it would have been viral if I had caught it on video.

Has anyone else had something like this? What was your experience

Scaling in Nms is totally off... [Discussion]

I recently tamed this proto-gek and was reading through its description to find out that its 1.6 metres (or 5,2). This seemed totally off as my character (race being an anomaly) barely came up to its shoulders; this would mean my character would be something like 4,10 which in turn would make everything else in the game much smaller than initially thought.

Probably just an inconsistent description but I still found it amusing.

Why so many differences? [Question]

My SO and I started playing NMS at original release on the PS4. I Stopped playing for a long time, got a PS5 and he had continued playing on and off since then. He was able to pull over his original save from PS4 to PS5, so pretty much been the same handful of saves he has played since then.

I recently started playing again on PC. So from scratch. I couldn't bring my save from the PS4. No big deal, it had been so long I needed to start over anyway.

Playing online together we noticed some differences, but I assumed it was just my standing the progress in the game. I've no played over 200 hours and the issue is still the same.

Ships in space stations cost me at least double what they cost him, sometimes 10x.

Salvaging ships, he will get at least double what he paid (i.e. bought for 1 mil, sell for 2.3 mil). I will get 2/3rds of what I paid (bought for 1mil, sell for 750k).

Ship upgrade cost, stop increasing for him at about 25mil regardless of the ship class, mine continue to climb I have seen uo to 50mil so far.

Freighter expeditions, his take an hour or two, mine take 10-15 hours to complete.

We have all the same standing with races and guilds and the same settings. Anyone know what gives?

Coming Home [Video]

Over the years I've built a pretty nice fleet in my main save. I hadn't played that one in a while, though, so when I came back to it last month and summoned my freighter for the first time I was inspired to record a fly-through in that character's new corvette. I got close enough that you can hear the warbling "song" of the living frigates and the nice ambient spookiness of the Ship of the Damned.

Forgive the camera jerk as I passed Normandy. I get occasional hand tremors, but I hope you can still enjoy the show.

(I'm a former farmer, and probably autistic, so all of the recruited ones are named after breeds of domestic ducks. The Normandy and cursed ship kept their original names. The three living frigates are named after my first three hogs and the freighter is named after that farm itself.)

Helping permadeath [Screenshot]

So for those that are starting in permadeath or are already in and need a nice place to build a base well thats the blue photo, there is no bad weather aside from random anomalous localized electricity, the planet is a paradise, decent amount of trees and fauna, there is also allot of beachfront, so if you need a calm place for a base I would highly recommend this planet, now the second screenshot is of a base I made at an echo location so it should be easy to locate... I think, this system is a 2star korvax dissonance, the planet is a small moon thats bountiful with only gravity storms occasionally so it is also a fairly decent safe point, in addition if you have the advanced mining upgrade you can farm dissonance ships for a metric ton of units, each vessel will yield anywhere from 16 to 50ish million units. Happy hunting travelers.

Help! Can't install Starship Trails [Question]

Yesterday I completed the Beachhead Expedition on a secondary save and decided to play a bit more on that save once it converted to normal from an Expedition. For some reason I can't install any Starship Trails though. I have checked the Quicksilver merchant at the Anomaly and it says 'Already Owned' on the ones I have bought on my main save (Red, Green, Yellow, Purple) but no trail blueprints show up when I click on an empty Starship tech spot and try to build something. Nothing happens when I try to re-collect the trails from the QS vendor either. Under the Expedition rewards section the same thing happens when I try to collect the 'Aeron Starship Trail', it does not add it into the build menu when in Starship tech. Is the ability to install Starship Trails unlocked by in-game missions/progression? I did what was needed for the Expedition and had the game file convert to a normal save, but I have not done any normal storyline missions or any of that yet. In my main save I have done pretty much all the missions and quests, collected many Starships and rare items. In this save I really just want to be more minimalist and not chase everything the game offers. I will do some missions if I have to, just trying to avoid blindly going through everything hoping I suddenly gain the ability to install the Trails. I just want to get the Pirate Freighter and Frigates and be a space pirate! Any ideas why I can't install any of the Starship Trails? Anyone else convert an Expedition save and unable to install Trails they have unlocked?

TIL a New Trick to Getting Portal Glyphs Quickly [Information]

Perhaps this is widely known, but when the Nexus runs the hazardous flora mission- do the mission (go to the Traveler's grave, destroy the required number of flora to complete the mission) but don't go back to the Anomaly right away. Instead, make sure Multiplayer is enabled and locate other players on the planet surface also running the mission (best to do on a weekend and when the award is 1800 Quicksilver for best results) and head to their location. Land and chances are you'll be within scan range of the grave that player was sent to. Interact with the grave and you'll get the glyph and a Memory Fragment. Rinse and repeat until you get all 16. Started a new save after an Expedition conversion and this worked out well.

Colour coding my playthroughs. Everything is orange in this one. [Discussion]

Been playing solidly for a few years now and on my umpteenth playthrough. This time I'm trying to mix things up a bit by playing as an orange-suited Korvax who is only into orange S-class ships (although my orange freighter is an A and I'm currently working on upgrading my orange C corvette.) It's actually pretty challenging, particularly as far as finding a decent orange multitool goes. Mind you, I have made billions of units scrapping sentinel ships and exotics for being the wrong colour. When I'm done with this playthrough, I'll be a blue Gek. :)

I feel like the customization for the non-anomaly races has really been lacking for a while [Discussion]

Like, for example, it would be cool to be able to have helmets for the gek or vy'keen. Ones with a transparent visor that go over the head you select, for example. It's kinda jarring, seeing an NPC pop up on a planet with no atmosphere while wearing no helmet.

More headgear of other kinds would also be great. The last time we got headgear for a non-anomaly was the gek spawning cowl. And I think that was also the only time we got one.

Speaking of the gek, I've always found it odd that they never gave blinking animations (or even just an animated blinking texture) to some of the eye options for the gek and vy'keen. Like the stalk eyes for the gek. And it's also odd that you can't select those eye options independently of headgear, especially since most of the options wouldn't actually clip through eachother or anything.

Also, more variations in body types and sizes for all races, including anomalies and travellers. Why not give players the option to be as big and buff as a vy'keen or as tiny as a gek?

If the issue is wanting the NPCs to look distinct, then just limit the options to players only. The player's meant to be an anomaly, after all. It wouldn't be weird to have an anomalous gek that's six feet tall.

Another thing that I've seen requested pretty often in the past by others is more slots to save outfits. Unless that's a limitation that exists due to consoles or something, I can't see a good reason for only allowing us to save three at a time.

Should there be more other species controlled systems [Question]

Basically exactly what the title says. There are other species customizations for our characters and some that are on the anomaly do you think those species should be integrated into the greater Galaxy and have control of their own systems just like the main three or should they be left to customization/anomaly only? Personally I believe they should be integrated because it would make the Galaxy more populated of other intelligent species.

Im trying to do the current expedition and need 7 more new systems. Ive been jumping for an hour and now completely out of supplies and havent gotten a single new system. Can someone lend some advice. This is extremely frustrating, ive wasted so much time and materials for nothing

Not a fan of corvettes (needs to be easier) [Suggestion]

I don't like Corvettes. Mainly due to the grind for parts. its tedious. But my least favorite thing about Corvettes is building one. I have almost every part and NONE of them look good. They don't fit properly or they're too big. They don't look natural when you try to put them together. I'm nearly don't building but there's so many naked spots I can't fill because none of the parts look the way I want it to look. So my ship is just a big block with a cockpit and wings. It's just one big cube. It looks ugly. I can't even put weapons on it without it looking stupid. I can't even fit reactors on it without it sticking out and vulnerable. So I'm stuck with a flying cube with a gun on top and wings with poor maneuverability and one Medusa reactor.

It's a mystery to me how people make nice ships that look like real ships while mine is still basically a skeleton. A frame with nothing on it.

I suggest that the parts get an overhaul. A way so the parts can look natural instead of ALL of them looking unnatural together. None of the parts feel like they go together. None of them fits. Or they're too big for the design I'm going for. It's extremely annoying. I spent days going around planet for salvage to get parts only to find out I can't even use them because of how horrible they look. The ones that look good enough dont even fill the space! So it's half a cylinder and a big space beneath it. How are we supposed to work with this???? Everything is so ugly! What good are Corvette parts if they ALL look like they don't fit together. Some parts even look like they're supposed to have more parts connected to them to fill them but there isnt any.

It's so bad I'm thinking of just abandoning the entire thing and sticking with my maneuverable starfighters and S class dreadnaught (even if it's weapons are pointless and just for show at this point) because at least they look...

Обновляютли ли задания у Решалы на пиратской станции? [Question]

"Доабузился" получается...

Короче говоря, я Решалу "использовал" в буквальном смысле слова. По началу я брал задания и выполнял их, но в какой-то момент заметил, что когда берешь задание "Доставить запрещенный груз", этот же "груз" падает тебе в инвентарь и при отмене задания не пропадает, следовательно без каких либо усилий можно фармить юниты. Таким образом доигрался я до того, что все задания кончились, вот теперь сижу и думаю, не много ли я потерял на том, что скипал все задания, что бы выбить "Доставку"...

P.s. Я прям глупый новичок, который только дошел до пиратской станции и практически сразу начал "абузить"...

P.p.s. Надеюсь меня за такое не обоссут...

No Switch 2 Support? [Discussion]

Besides "getting more money," why did Hello Games bother bringing NMS to Switch 2? They clearly were not ready to support the console.

I accepted that I'll never be able to cross save with my PS5 (versions forever out of sync). What I can't accept, is that they released the game on another console without the ability to support it. It makes sense why all their updates are free, because they keep selling the same game over and over. I think they've made enough money over the years, that they can properly support Switch 2.

I'm not asking for constant updates from Hello Games, but it seems a little shady that they purposely DON'T keep players filled in? Almost like the Switch 2 was just a side thing to keep the money flowing...

I've seen other posts asking about the Beachhead expedition for xbox etc, and some of y'all are very dismissive of people's complaints. Not looking for consumer excuses for devs, but if anyone has any insight on why they put out update posts for expedition reduxes, but leave out the part where its only on select platforms, that would be appreciated. I put in a lot of effort to try and be an informed consumer, but I let myself get taken advantage of by Sean Murray's deceptive marketing of "I do all the marketing, but I'm just a silly little dev that hates marketing, so you can't trust anything I say"

After a year of waiting, I'm almost there... A question for the veterans to help me take the final step [Question]

Hello everyone. I've had No Man's Sky on my wishlist for almost a year now, and I'm finally planning to buy it this December during the Winter Sale. I'm incredibly excited, but I have one big question that only you, the veterans, can answer.

I completely understand that the universe is practically infinite. I've seen the trailers and know there are countless planets to explore. But my real concern is this: Does that "infinity" actually translate into lasting fun, or does it eventually start to feel repetitive?

I'm not looking for a game that just has a lot of content; I'm looking for one that knows how to keep that content from becoming boring after the initial wonder wears off. So, for those of you with hundreds or thousands of hours, does the core loop of exploring, gathering, and building continue to be genuinely engaging? Or do you find that after a certain point, you're just going through the motions?

What I really want to know is if the magic lasts. Does the game keep surprising you? Does it give you meaningful reasons to keep warping to new stars, or does the endless variety eventually reveal itself as a pattern?

Your honest experiences will be the final push I need. Knowing that there's a truly engaging long-term game waiting for me is the best motivation to finally make the jump. Thank you for helping me out.

Fighter-style no glitch corvette build [Ship Builds]

Yesterday No Man's Sky through me for a loop, somehow the game crashed and completely wiped my favorite corvette, a build inspired by the fighters in the game that I called the Marauder. Here's her replacement, the Marauder 2.0. It's a simple no-glitch build, but I'm loving it.

The Invasion Pyramid Corvette is slowly starting to come together... [Ship Builds - Modified]

The Outside is rather bland an unassuming, by design, to keep the part count as low as possible. The inside, however, is another story, completely...

Functional, purposeful, the Invasion Corvette has room for a full invasion force, complete with berths, lounges, food, supplies, weapons, storage, and even vehicles. Oh, and one cannot forget holding cells and an interrogation room, for resistant Gek slave traders, the filthy vermin that they are.

All while maintaining an ancient motif, thematic throughout. Complete with alien propulsion systems, fuel conduits, star drive astronimica, and other important, functional bits, such as a glass bottom. Not just a mobile base. This is a complete ship.

Resistance will be subjugated.

There's still more to finish, and pictures barely scratch the surface of what is inside, and will be. There's far too much to show here in a few pictures. Perhaps I'll post a video tour, later.

Stop on by, and take a tour, next time you see her at the Nexus, and see her grow and evolve. Perhaps even come on a mission or two.

Wishes:

A better exterior. Perhaps I'll figure out an economical way to do this.

Wire glitching were possible in Corvette Building. I miss this. I could easily have a different exterior if this were. I have ideas.

An external building camera when in free building, within Corvettes, like we have with bases.

Most frustrating part:

Flipping over the triangle pieces for the interior drive pyramid! This is much harder to do without a build camera!

Main story not moving forward — need help! [Question]

I have been following the main story missions, but I’m stuck on those 3 primary missions. I was following the Atlas Eternal (The Crimson Web). It says “Find a wonder to show the Atlas”, I’ve already visited 7 Atlas Interfaces and presented a wonder, but nothing new is happening.

Am I missing something? Do I need to trigger something else or finish another mission first? Been stuck for two days and can’t figure out what to do next. Any help appreciated!

Challenge of the day: Fight EVERYTHING at the same time. [Screenshot]

That... was only my first try and it was chaotic... don't know yet if there's an optimum order to things, and if I'll ever be able to get a screenshot with all 6 mobs... but here's what I did:

Prep: Bring juicy grubs and child of aquarius. Find an infested planet with ancient bones, and water. Find a place close to... titan worm burrow, water and vigilant stone.

Get it started: Start a fight with the sentinels. Progress through a few stages but do not finish that fight. Disturb some vigilant stones, don't kill the guardians. Release child of acquarius in water, no kill Crush juicy grubs, no kill Move closer to titan worm burrow, no kill Pop some whispering eggs...

Enjoy the chaos!

So... the challenge, if you accept it... is to get a screenshot with all 6 mobs! And... bonus point if you figure out a way to get even more mobs into this fight!

We've gotta talk about these expedition bases... [Discussion]

Building a base is fine and there are lots of reasons to do so. Even if it's just to mark a planet or spot for you to return easily.

To everyone who builds bases that provide resources, terminals, and more... I thank you kindly. You are providing a great service!

Now, to everyone else.

The amount of bases I come across that offer nothing. Floors and walls and otherwise empty... You are creating clutter for everyone else.

Your base has to have, at the absolute bare minimum, a base terminus (teleporter). This way if I teleport in and it has nothing and has wasted my time then I can at least quickly look for another USEFUL base to teleport to.

If your base doesn't offer at least this, and preferably more, JUST DON'T UPLOAD IT.

You can have your empty box, no one else needs it. Why would you upload it? To me this is borderline trolling. I'm sure it's not always intended to be, but it is.

How to organize your storage container [Tips]

Not sure who needs to know this but, I found out today that you can cycle through your storage containers while on your feighter (assuming that you have the containers built on the freighter) and organize them the same way you would your exosuit.

Step 1) Land in your freighter

Step 2) Build storage containers

Step 3) Open your inventory and navigate to your Freighter tab

Step 4) There will be sub-tabs starting with "core" you can cycle through

Step 5) Organize as needed.

Noob help. The more I play the more I don't understand and the more frustrated I get. Help before I give up! [Discussion]

This game isn't intuitive.

I'm trying to follow along with what it tells me to do and I just get more lost. For instance; it's tellng me "signal detected: anomaly. Board the anomalous space station." the problem is I'm already in a space station! I've left it multiple times and went to the freighter nearby and that's not what it wants me to do. If I stay out in space too long (trying to figure out what to do) I start getting attacked by ships so I run and retreat because I'm not ready for that. I just don't understand and see what it wants me to do.

I'm just so lost and ready to give up on this game. I've played elite dangerous and loved it (took. A minute to familiarize my self with the mechanics, but I was sucked in pretty quick), was recently playing planet crafter and was having so much fun that I figured I'd try this. But I'm stressing myself out trying to figure out how to play it. I've even chatting with Ai to help me and I just get more frustrated.

Is the a real tutorial on how to figure out this game or someone that can help me? I want to enjoy it but I'm I'm a tech idiot and this gameplay certinally doesn't make it simple.

First Exotic 40 hours in! [Screenshot]

Awwww snap! Bought this game day one, come back from time to time but it’s never grabbed me until recently. Been having tons of fun, have gotten pretty set up (special shoutout to the lovely Traveler that gave me things to sell for 300mil) with a couple A class and was able to snag the S class Alien tool in the expedition, but was coming into my main space station (really my first one) and came across this beauty!

Has anyone tried the Corvette Base Pad? [Question]

I was hoping for a pad to be made available for the Corvettes from HG.
But, since this doesn't seem to be forthcoming for some time, I have found a mod on Nexus that allows for a BIG pad to be placed at your base. It includes a complete Corvette building and parts cache system, as found in the Space Stations.

So, my question: Has anyone tried this and your thoughts on it? I am in the middle of building a new base and would like to incorporate this, if possible.

I, uh, seem to have gotten myself into a situation. I am stuck in the cockpit of my corvette. I put a decoration in without realizing it was blocking the entryway. How I got in here, I have no idea. It must have let me walk this way through it, but it will not let me out.

I tried to delete it, but I added it via the Corvette Workshop so it will not let me delete it via the build menu. It says it can only be deleted via the Corvette Workshop.

There a way to get out?

How do you play with friends? [Discussion]

When I load this game up with my friends the gameplay loop is as follows: Join Game Don't have the same quests. Separately work on our own stuff.

It's honestly kinda depressing for a game that was supposed to be all about this huge universe with active multiplayer for the actual multiplayer to be so meh. Does anyone have suggestions on how to make playing with your friends more interesting?

I hope LNF gets a guild system, so that friends can all work on the same bases and whatnot even when the other's aren't on.

I made a base to memorialize my grandma, who recently passed away from dementia. I'm not very good at building with non-preset parts, but I tried to make something pretty. [Screenshot]

She loved gardening so I have plenty of plants. She watched me play no mans sky and is the only family member to do so. I loved showing her the game and she just loved how pretty the planets were. She was insanely sweet, and piqued an interest in my games which no one else really showed when I was young. I loved her to death, and I wish I could see her again.

When I showed her no mans sky for the first time, I was 10 years old. I'm 19 now, she passed away a few months ago. I wanted to build something like this but I got really emotional when I would think about it. So I finally got motivated to build something, but I was worried I couldn't build something decent enough to truly represent her. This is my best attempt. She was honestly the best grandma anyone could ever ask for. Dementia is truly terrible, and I wish one day nobody else has to go through the emotional trauma that illness causes.

I really can't put in as much time in this game as I used to, but the Voyagers update brought me back. I've been playing since. This game is my favorite game of all time, I've played since release on ps4, and have over 7000 hours on that console. While I'm reaching 500 on PC. This game is the game to me. The one I pick up when I'm stressed, or bored, or just can't find any other games that pique my interest.

My grandma showed a genuine interest in this game, every update I would show her what was added and it would amaze her how ambitious video games have gotten. I really really loved her for that, she was amazingly patient, and just overall a wonderful woman.

Anyways, I didn't mean to ramble on that long, but I just wanted to show it to you guys. I won't give coords because this is personal to me, but to me I just want to leave something...

Expedition to xbox? [Question]

Anyone know if the expedition redux beachhead will come to xbox soon? I am playing on xbox on pc, so it may work differently, but i heard a day ago it should be out very soon— within about 12 hours. 2 or sum days later still not here, any help?

GUYS, I DID IT, I FIGURED OUT HOW TO GET THE MISSING DELICATE FLORA(PROC_FARM)!!! [Information]

I've decided that I wanted to complete the catalogue since I have almost ran out of things to do in the game, but one of the items needed to complete the "Most Valued Treasures" portion of the catalogue doesn't naturally occur anymore, but I figured out a solution that should work for anybody else with the same issue: Download NMSSaveEditor from GitHub, select which save you want to edit, go to "Exosuit", right-click an empty slot, select "Add Item", select "Product", then "Procedural", then the 2nd "Delicate Flora", click save, right-click the Delicate Flora and select "Item Details", change the seed to 54627, close the window, go back to the "Main" page and click "save changes", launch the game and make sure it's in your inventory. In the NMSSaveEditor, select the save you edited, select "Edit", then click "Edit Raw JSON", then select "BaseContext", then "PlayerStateData", scroll down to and select "WonderTreasureRecords", (assuming you have gotten the other treasures beforehand) you should see that one of the GenerationIDs has two values that are both 0, change the first 0 to "0x5241465f434f5250", then the second 0 to "0x3736323435234D", then change the value in "WonderStatValue" from 0.0 to 1379327.0, then change the value in "SeenInFrontend" from false to true, close the window and select "Save Changes" when you see the prompt, click "save changes" on the "Main" page, close NMSSaveEditor, launch the game, navigate to the "Treasures" of your Wonders catalogue and you should see that it's registered in the catalogue.

Been playing since day one, just found out about Living Ship Squadrons 😭 [Screenshot]

Managed to get some living ships into my squadron, looks sick as hell honestly, I was geeking heavy once all was set 🙂‍↕️

The Requirments: A freighter for squadron management + upgrading 4 void eggs at least (more if collecting/deciding) Economy scanners (for finding trade posts) A fast ship for efficiency

MAKE SURE A PREVIOUS SAFE FILE SLOT IS READY IN CASE OF GLITCHES/ SHIP LOSS PREVENTION/ NPC GETAWAY (entering and exiting your ship registers a restore point)

The Method:

1 - pulse drive, hatch the egg, find your ships. Specifically four of them for your squadron.

2 - once ships are collected, search for a trade post within your star ship, and head towards it.

3 - call one of your ships and let it land in front of you, registering it as your active ship. Walk up to a NPC that has just landed, then switch your ship for theirs. THEY WILL DISSAPEAR BUT DO NOT FRET.

(Pick your favorite NPC, you can manually upgrade a squadron member within the freighter management system by hovering over their characters).

4 - once you have traded your ship, THE NPC WILL INSTANTLY DISSAPEAR IN FRONT OF YOU, BUT WILL SPAWN WITH YOUR SHIP AT ANOTHER LANDING ASAP, you will have a good 20 seconds before the NPC checks out his ship and dips on you. Look around the 5 other landings near you, instantly go to the living ship, catch the NPC, and recruit.

That is how you recruits living ships within your squadron!

I found a planet with my name in Sudzerbal. Guess it's time to build a private spiritual retreat. [Screenshot]

This one stays private. I've earned it with 2500+ hours. It's an abandoned dissonant world, no npcs, but phage camps.

Base location is totally surrounded by living pearls and crystal sulphide (and two horrors).

Gorgeous during the days. Medium-big waves during storms. Fluorescing water at night.

I left the planet and system names alone, except took some numbers off the ends. Not needed for my name-sake!

Still deciding what to do with the pool with the built-in lighting.

This reminds me of Scavengers Reign the series.

I've never posted here or played Star Citizen but I saw a picture of the Endeavor while browsing corvette ideas and WHOA that's a damn fine ship they... never got. Vulkan error in AMD integrated graphics [Bug]

Hey guys, how's it going? I recently managed to buy a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 7 7730u processor and integrated Vega 8 graphics, and I was really looking forward to playing a game I've always loved, No Man's Sky. But when I try to launch it and the world loads, the screen just stays blank and I get this error. I know my graphics card isn't very powerful, but it really makes me sad to see other people's gameplay videos with older processors and Vega 7 graphics cards running it decently, and I can't even open it or do anything to play this great game. I'd really appreciate any help anyone could give me. I'll be waiting for any useful information.

Very Noob Ship Questions [Question]

So I just started a few days ago, I have about 20 hours in, and I’ve just been bouncing around systems & checking out planets that look cool.

I have a bunch of resources, and I have an okay amount of money (probably not much to you all) about 4.5 million.

My question is- is it easier/better to buy a ship off someone else, or to build your own?

I went to upgrade my ship slots and saw it was 2.3 million for one slot and immediately noped it and will be expanding my exosuit inventory while I question life.

Any tips would be helpful, even if it’s not about a ship, I’m exploring as much as possible and I’ve found a few connecting trade system loops but I haven’t found one of each type yet.

Can't progress settlement quest [Bug]

I'm trying to complete quest for my first settlement, and it wanted me to upgrade a building I just finished. So, I opened the building first, then went to go collect the materials needed to upgrade it. When I got back, the upgrade button was grayed out and it said I had another construction site to look at. I looked around the settlement, and they all said the same thing. Reloading the save didn't fix it, and I can't retire as overseer.

I did already submit a bug report, but I'd like to know if there's any way around this in the meantime!

My Googlefu may be weak but I can't find much on V Class Freighters.

I was recruiting frigates when I flew to close and got docked by a freighter. As I was there I thought I'd go to the bridge and see if it was better than my B Class.

To my surprise it was V Class?

Now I have seen a lot about finding S Class Pirate Freighters but nothing on V Class. How do they compare?

I was ship hunting when the trading post I was at came under attack by pirates. Could’ve hopped in my ship to stop them, but I wasn’t bothered, so I just watched the carnage unfold.

Well, the consequence of my apathy was this poor sucker getting shot at. I watched his ship go up in smoke, then flames, then finally it exploded and disappeared. With their bloodlust sated, the pirates ended their attack and left.

The reward for my shameful indifference was a journey milestone for destroying 5 starships. They killed him and his blood is on my hands! 😭

Probably the best corvette I've ever seen... Genuine insanity... (Evangelion Atlas Mecha Build) [Video]

Was just chillin at the anomaly and saw some insane looking corvette pop up that instantly caught my attention, went towards it n flew around it to check it out, tried asking who was the owner but no response.

Unfortunately the Mecha Corvette just disappeared so I'm assuming it was a corvette registering through the anomaly glitch, so I couldn't find the owner since he was probably in a different lobby (iteration ahhh)

But holy shit...? This is probably the most insane one yet. Pure chaos with an insane sleek design, a wild battles filled with a static charge design, a body core and complete armor detail on corners??? Sheeeeesh genuinely curious on who created this piece of art lol

Corvette building questions [Question]

Haven't played for a while and so I'm completely new to the Corvette mechanics. So before hopping back in to NMS, there are a few questions which I can't find an answer to (or I'm blind maybe)

Is it possible to start building the corvette, save the progress, do something else and keep building on it later or do I have to build it in one go?

Do I need each part multiple times or is it "aquire once, use as you want"

Can I build a corvette in creative mode, save it and then build it in normal mode? Like creating a blueprint, which ideally would show a list of parts I need to acquire prior to building it.

How expensive is it (roughly) to build a corvette? Of course depends on it's size.

Neat glitch [Video]

Built a ship to max height limits. You can jump off the top and walk over the main play area of the Anomaly. Head towards the center pillar and jetpack like you're climbing a mountain.

You will eventually break through and be able to explore the back areas. When you fall through, you will enter space and be able to summon your ship back. The Anomaly is still glitched, so you can fly your ship inside. Head just below where you normally enter and you can explore the basement. It's kind of crazy!

Returning PS5 player, tips? [Question]

I got this game at launch, played maybe 50 hours and then put it down. Returning now for another try but can see the game has changed an awful lot.

I'm trying to approach it as a new player. Any tips anyone would share? I've just launched from the planet I awoke on. It had HUGE work monsters erupting from the ground, so cool.

Playing in PSVR 2 with my brother who is on Steamdeck [Question]

Hi, as the title says, I want to play no man’s sky with my brother who is on steamdeck while I am in vr. I was able to add his code (and see his steam name in options>network>show friends list). However, I am not able to invite him or interact with his name at all. Also, when he tries to add my code, it says it’s invalid. We made sure we both had our multiplayer settings correct. We also tried being in the same mode, as well as starting a session from the “play with friends” tab and seeing if we could see each other’s names in that same section. I can’t find much online about it, and am starting to wonder if we can even actually play together. If anyone has any advice on how to do it/if it’s possible, it would be greatly appreciated!

I posted the landing pads the other day, but I've done more work on the rest of this large project. This is very much still a WIP, but I wanted to post pix of my progress.

There are actually 3 main parts of Kirby's Starport.

The main base is where the large hangar bay is. It sits atop a floating rock, high in the sky. The primary building is constructed from a mixture of prefab and non-prefab parts. This is where the NPC stations are, like the science or overseers station. Each has their own office. The back door leads to the landing hangar bay.

Going out the front door of this building, down the sweeping staircase, will lead you to the observation platform, which also has the teleporter to the rest of the base.

Down on the ground, along the beautiful bioluminescent shores of a small lake, is going to be a small museum and gallery. There is also an additional landing pad, a fishing area, and two docks which are perfect for parking your aqua-jet equipped corvette.

Having an INSANE amount of trouble with an Expediton milestone [Question]

Hey, guys! I’m new to No Man’s Sky. I’ve been playing for a few weeks, and I’ve started the new Expedition for the Normandy skin (Mass Effect is my favorite game ever). I’m having trouble with the milestone where I have to photograph various planets. One of them is an airless planet, but nothing seems to count. I’ve photographed an abandoned planet, I’ve photographed a desolate planet. I’ve photographed a barren planet. Does anyone know a solution for this??

Exotic ship question [Question]

Hello everyone, just after a pirate fight to save a freighter, I landed on it, and an exotic ship (an orange squid) came in almost immediately. It's my first S-class ship and my first exotic, so even at 26M I bought it, because after 30 hours I'm still using my old C-class solar ship.

But like 5 minutes later, another exotic landed (the ball type with wings and a long nose). I thought there was only one type of exotic ship per galaxy? How rare is this ?

I didn’t buy the second one, but I added it to my squadron. But I really like solar ships — can an S-class solar be better than an S-class exotic?

Couple Squadron Questions [Question]

For squadron pilots, does the quality of the ship matter, or only the quality of the pilot?

I understand that you can only have three identical ships in your squadron, with one pilot of each race. But if you assemble, say, four fighters, out of identical parts and with the same paint job, but at different stations and/or with different reactors, are they still going to be considered identical ships for this purpose? Or will they have different seeds, giving you the ability for your squadron to fly four visually identical ships?

Frigate Fuel Upgrade not working [Question]

Hi,

as the title says I have a problem with the upgrade module for the freighter which are affecting the frigates. I got an upgrade that is supposed to enhance the fuel efficiency of the frigates. I installed it on my freighter and it changed exactly nothing. So when I want to start a mission it says something like: 550t fuel needed. If I then add the upgrade, the number stays the same. If I start the mission, this amount is subtracted from my inventory.

Is this bugged? Is my savegame corrupt?

My frigate rating changed? [Question]

When I started accumulating frigates I made sure to do the calculations to check their rating before hiring. Now, I'm pretty sure I re-checked this particular frigate's rating last month after I realized there's a website to calculate it (previously I was doing the math in my head and only hiring frigates with less than 8 expeditions done) and the rating lowered 🤔.. as you can see it was probably R13 but now the site says it's 11. Perhaps I just missed the mark last time. But so far all my other ships are coming out same as I had previously had them down as.

Am I doing anything wrong? I'm also curious, is there a number of max expeditions a ship can do before it doesn't count anymore or hinders the rating?

I read something about 55 expeditions of 55 times it can on obtain points? I'm not sure.

Hello everyone! I have a question about the ship’s photon cannon and multitool’s bolt caster

I vaguely remember playing back in 2018ish and being able to change the color of projectiles using upgrades, but it doesn’t seem to work now

Did they remove this, or am i just misremembering? I've tried installing a few different A and S class upgrades, but the color is still the same default blue

With this blue every sentinel feels like a clanker that needs to be dealt with. All I need now is a call from Palpatine lol

About frigates... [Question]

Hi all,

I've started to make expeditions with frigates and this seems to be a good additional mechanic in the game, but something is unclear to me.

I've read about "at least two stars better than an expedition rating", but how does it work when I send multiple frigates on a mission?

Besides the class (stars rating) frigates have numerical parameters. Do they matter?

In general should I send as many frigates as possible per expedition or not? I can send up to three, but it seem that it is pointless to add C class frigates to A or S class, isn't it?

One of my frigates has an outdated maps. How do I update it? Didn't find any place to fix this issue.

Not really a question, but harvesting di-hydrogen is quite painful and frigates consume a lot. Also kind of strange, you make one starship fuel with 40 di-hydrogen and it burns it quite fast, while with 50 di-hydrogen you make 50 tons and frigate can fly hundreds of LY with it. Seems there is some inconsistency.

Frigates can upgrade theirs class, but it seems that it is better to just hire the A\S class, isn't it? Especially considering there are very effective ways to farm units. Like collecting sentinels star ships for example and I'm sure there are others.

How to find a specific type of planet/moon? [Question]

I'm using the galactic map to try and explore, and I am wondering if there is a way to use it to increase the odds of finding what I'm looking for, in this case a dead quiet peaceful moon.

Do any of the attributes in the map tend to lean one way or another? I.e. 'Pk' '0-9' or ven 'water'. or type of star?

I have not seen a list of 'these galactic attributes' increase the chance of 'these celestial bodies'.

Does this exist or am i.. asking too much? :)

My ideas for new base part items that HG should add to the game. [Discussion]

I’m a hardcore builder and this is my all time favorite game for base building. A lot of us get creative and tend to use a lot of parts for things they aren’t meant to be used for.

While decorating around a city I’m working on, I had a few ideas for building and decoration parts that would be awesome if they added to the game.

•More Statues (Vy’keen+Korvax Statues) - We have all these repeated poses of Geks and Travelers. Nothing to represent the Vy’keen and Korvax. What’s with that, Sean? It would also be cool if we got statues of a few of the other iterations from the anomaly. How about also having the ship bobble heads as statues as well?

•Gravity Docking Station - So you know the way corvettes dock at freighters? With those blue rings? Having a landing pad for corvettes as a base part would be too big to manage for placement. We have a limited space when viewing from the builder camera. What if instead of some huge landing pad, we had some sort of machine that creates those blue rings in the air? We can place it anywhere at our bases and use it for docking corvettes. Gives us a better opportunity to strategically planning out landing zones for corvettes at our bases without worrying about needing a large flat field near by.

•Fish Plaques - How about giving us some wooden plaques to hang on our walls? We have fishing in the game now. We could have a few of them ranging from a small-large catch.

•Small BoomBox Radio - I know we have the bytebeat machines. But how about a small radio that can be placed and used to play bytebeats we saved?

•NEW LIGHT SIGNS! - Sean…give me new neon lit signs…and my life is yours! Give us more lit signs with alien words on them! How about a lit hazard sign or something! Holographic projection signs would be awesome! We are seriously lacking on the signage!

•Space...

I made my own Star Destroyer! [Ship Builds]

I found a video of one on youtbe and decided to make my own! Propzie on youtube has some incredible videos on how he makes his super accurate ships from Star Wars, and that inspired me to make one myself.

I greatly utilized Propzies technuiqes to get the best shape, and tried to make my own design off of it. It's definetly sloppy in a gew spots, and doesnt have as much detail as I would've liked due to the limitations that come with being on console. I also would've liked to use sheild modules for the spheres on top, but by the time I was gonna try it the game would crash anytime I open the corvette build menu (yes that happens), so containers were the closest thing I could find.

Despite all of that, Im very happy with how it eventually turned out.

Noob corvette questions [Ship Builds]

I have recently bought and have been playing the game. Absolutely love it. I completed the Beachhead expedition and walked away with so many starship expansion modules.
my question revolves around using them, then if I reconfigure my corvette will they still be there? will they stay installed as long as its the same corvette I'm working on and don't scrap it?

Basically I want to make sure I don't waste them by exploring corvette building and redesigning it over and over until I am happy.

But holy shit...? This is probably the most insane one yet. Pure chaos with an insane sleek design, a battle axe weapon filled with a static charge design, a body core and complete armor detail on corners??? Sheeeeesh, curious on who created this piece of art lol

Hello guys, unfortunately I haven't played NMS since 2023, but I have some friends playing NMS in the last few days and they talked about a community that was playing together to build its bases on a unique planet. Create a big world in which each player builds there and forms a covilization. Does anyone know of any trends that arise about this? What if there is already what is the name?

For newer players trying to turn a few million units into hundreds of millions of units quickly [Discussion]

Go to the anomaly and get the economy scanner unlocked. Once it’s equipped on your starship, go to space and select it in the utilities section of the quick menu (press down on the directional pad on ps5 and scroll left to utilities) it will say search for nearby trade events and load up “Locate trade outpost and Search for trade surges.” I am not sure how to use the quick menu on your starship for pc users or Xbox users.

Click on locate trade surges and whichever is in the surge use the chart to find which economy to buy from. The chart works left to right so if you need to sell to trading economy you buy from scientific economy. The first 3 in the chart in the green, purple and blue are seperate economies than the other 4. Those 3 only feed each other for profit, the other 4 feed each other for profit.

If the trade surge is power generation you buy from high tech and sell to power generation. If the trade surge is mining you buy from power generation and sell to mining. Etc. etc. Also the economies type symbols are displayed on the chart so if your in the galaxy map and use the filter for economy you will notice that all the red systems are power generation while all the yellow systems have the manufacturing symbols etc. etc.

You can see in the screen shot I profit 12 million units in the trade surge, that’s just from 1 trip. You can quickly make hundreds of millions of units so you can buy anything you want.

Hope this helps any of you trying to either figure out how economy trading works or just wanting to get a fat bank!

U.S.S. Stellaris v.3 [Ship Builds Video]

With the addition of side hull parts I went back and reimagined my main corvette. Loving how it turned out so the only thing I'll probably change in the future is switching to a proper bridge whenever the datamined ones are added to the game properly (also interior doors if we ever get them).

100 of 100 build limit, but I could squeeze another 6 parts on if I wanted to by removing the windows and adding them via the interior base menu.

You have heard of cloud farming, now be prepared for a farm on the clouds! [Community Content]

I want to welcome you all to my first stasis device farm. It's entirely built on pre-fabs, it has 113 domes total and yields the plants needed for 72 stasis devices.

Don't let the appearance trick you, it's not a maze, it has been carefully designed so that you only have to (almost always) move forward while you are harvesting. The upper part (the farm) is 5 levels, each one divided into 4 hallways of biodomes.

0: starport, storage containers, refineries, and trade terminal

1: starport lounge

2-6: farm domes levels

7: exit doors so you can take a peak from the top

8: teleport

Will work on mines/factories to share with you guys next week. Hope you guys like it, suggestions are welcome!

Cant find breachhead not Rendezvous 5 icon [Bug]

Hello. I need to find Rendezvous 5 location.

I'm in the correct system, I have the mission selected, but when I fly around space, I don't see the icon for that location at all. I've tried selecting a different mission, then this one again, I've tried online, offline, restarted the game, and reinstalled it—and still, when I fly around the specified system, the game doesn't show me the R5 location. Any ideas on how to solve this?

Building a corvette but seems to be missing some [Question]

So i'm trying to set up for corvette build i saw online, above is the spreadsheet. I have no problem trading stuff for the turbine in the space station and the two reactors but I haven't found any arcadia blade anywhere!! Went to outlaw stations, 10 different galaxies, and a bunch more of salvageable scrap planets and still never found a single arcadia blade. Online says it's in the trade terminal but I looked everywhere and couldn't find it! I started doing derelict freighters missions but does anybody know where I could possibly find them? (I am in normal mode and I want to avoid using free build)

No Man's Sky advanced control systems - a work in progress (more complex ship controls) [Video]

Hey! I am obsessed with space sims, especially the hands-on piloting side. No Man’s Sky nails the exploration fantasy, but the flight model leaves me wanting more. I want strafing, believable landing, and deeper ship procedures.

I fly with a STECS Space Throttle System and a VKB Gladiator as my right stick. NMS does not recognize these natively, which was a letdown until I found JoystickGremlinEX. GremlinEX lets me virtualize multiple devices into a single controller that Steam Input can see. I feed the merged output into Steam, bind to NMS, and everything works. GremlinEX also provides state logic using boolean variables, and multiple mapping you can switch with the press of a button.

I built a layered start-up and flight management flow. I keep an empty baseline mapping, which is considered as "power off". A rotary dial controls ship power. First position powers the bus. Advancing the dial attempts an engine start, which intentionally fails until I press a dedicated primer. After priming, the dial will turn the engine on. I flip a switch that represents grav clamp disengagement. GremlinEX cannot read in-game ship state from memory, so this is my explicit landed indicator. I then reroute power to the maneuvering thrusters. From there, throttle input lifts the ship.

The system also gates combat and travel subsystems. I can disable weapons and the hyperdrive. Inspired by Elite Dangerous, I decided to consider the Pulse Engine as an underpowered mode of the hyperdrive. If power is routed to the hyperdrive bus, the normal boost button is remapped into a pulse engine. To land I have to lower the landing gears.

For long-range travel, I use a three-phase hyperdrive sequence. It requires three distinct button presses and knob turn, and then it'll open the galaxy map on it's own. Each phase currently plays a TTS cue for...

What’s happening:

Mission is tracked, but the warp path constantly resets or disappears. I’ve deployed the Myth Beacon dozens of times (in open space, new systems, normal systems, etc.) — no hologram or red pulse ever triggers.

After talking to Polo, the route sometimes points to a purple spiral system (black hole), not the white mission marker.

Warping there just loops the objective again — no progress. Tried re-crafting the beacon, summoning the Anomaly, re-selecting the expedition, restarting, reloading… nothing.

Even a save-file edit to advance the mission state didn’t unstick it.

Basically: the Myth Beacon never activates and the “Echo Through the Ages” objective never clears.

Has anyone gotten past this in the 2025 Redux build? Is there a co-op workaround (joining someone else who’s on that stage)? Any confirmed system type that finally triggers it?

Can someone explain how people get those massive factories and ships? [Question]

Hey everyone,

I could use a bit of help. I keep seeing posts here on Reddit from people showing off these insanely huge factories, ships, and stockpiles of resources.

I’m about 20 hours into the game, but so far I mostly just wander from planet to planet kind of aimlessly. I barely have enough resources to unlock a few things in the tech tree or build a portable refiner. Do more advanced mechanics show up later on — like automation or something similar?

Or are those posts mostly from people using creative mode or resource mods?

Basically: is there something I should be doing to progress faster when it comes to resource gathering, mining, or management?

Picked up this Atlantid M-T last night [Discussion]

It's insane! Boosted slots outlined. So now I have a normal pistol for scanning, a staff for combat, and this for mining, all S Class and all hotkeyed to 1, 2, & 3. I've been playing NMS for years on-and-off, and this is the first time I've really got my shit together with multi-tools, instead of just using one for everything. It's probably possible to optimise it even further - and the same goes for my suit, ships, and other M-T's, but they work well enough for me. If the game was tougher I probably would, but everything is sufficiently OP that it almost feels like cheating, so that's good enough for me.

One quick question, if anyone is still reading...I've dumped a fair amount of manoeuvrability from my ships, because it's a pain in the arse having such a twitchy ship when you're trying to draw a bead on a tiny planet to scan it. Does anyone else have problems with very high manoeuvrability, or is there yet another trick that I've missed?

Peaked Flea Manuverability Doubts [Video]

Since there been doubts and false claims of mods/save edit/sped up video from my previous post. Here are the 2 clips from last night. Photon Cannon on Corvette [Discussion]

I can’t for the life of me figure out why in the hell the developers would place a standard issue starship weapon like this on the corvette and make it so you can’t remove it? It’s like the same standard weapon on most any other starship you get, but on anything other than the corvette, once you place a different weapon the photon can be removed.

I have looked high and low for this thing to rip it out of existence and it’s imaginarily there someplace. I located it on the titan cab, it’s inside the black dome on top of the cab. Can’t locate it on the other cab, yet it’s still there.

Does anyone know if there has been any discussion with the developers to remove this from the pre-build? Or at least to make it removable during the construction of the corvette?

I know most people probably think it’s just no big deal, but I don’t like cycling through multiple weapons during a space fight. Regardless of how easy the fights may be, I just rather not have the inconvenience of having to cycle through a weapon I never use on any ships!

How to end an Expedition? Noob here [Question]

Hey guys, so I apparently finished the Expedition but what now or is there a bug. It says I have done 5/5 phases and I should return to the Anomaly and finish the Expedition and transfer everything to my primary game. But it won't work, I can't "End" anything, just return to my regular game, where can I find the SSV Normandy (is there name the same with every person, you know that final ship) and I can't collect the lasz reward.. I took a few pictures, sorry that it is in german, but I hope you all understand what I mean. What am I doing wrong?

I need help with finding Multi Tools... [Question]

I'm lost with the MT's... I'm trying to find an exotic or alien multi tool for my mining needs, but I can't. I remember seeing some video or post or something that explained the system how the different models are spread, but can't find it anymore.

I should be able to find them on the Sentinel Pillars, if I'm not mistaken? But I just recently spent I think 8-10 maps, and all of the pillars just had the same system tool I see at the Space Station, or another pistol or rifle. I checked few planets on one system, and then some on other systems.

I don't want to cheat and use portal codes, just an explanation on how the hell do I find the other kinds than just rifles and pistols. Sentinel tools I can find qell enough, and once I find decent looking one it'll be my fighting tool (just a confirmation though, there is one type of sentinel multi tool per dissonant planet, just different classes in different camps?)

They really need to add a corvette landing pad [Bug]

I keep having this issue where whenever I teleport somewhere, if I don’t changed back to my starship as my primary ship then my corvette spawns in the building and I get stuck between the building and the corvette. Like I get corvettes can be huge but we really need a landing pad for it. I don’t know if I’m just over reacting or what but this issue is constantly happening.

Should i trade my S class venator with 66 slots for an S class dreadnought with 25? [Suggestion]

As a relatively new player, farming the storage upgrade is so hard and tedious, and I've already invested 36 additional slots to the venator but i do like the Dreadnought's look, and it seems like it's the most prized.

Do storage upgrades get easier to get later?

Supercharged slot positions on a Corvette [Ship Builds]

Hello,

I have some questions about the supercharged slots on Corvettes.

I've read here and there that the station determines the slot positions.

So I wanted to test this with my Corvette. (It's a slightly upgraded C-class and has two supercharged slots).

At the first station, SC3 appears at 2;3 and SC4 at 7;1. Okay, that doesn't work for me.

At the second station, 2;3 and 7;1... Hmm, maybe a coincidence.

(0;9 horizontal, 0;5 vertical)

At the third station, same thing.

Is it really the station that determines the slot positions?

Or is it the base Corvette?

Question about swapping ships with NPC's [Question]

I put up 4 sentinel S-Class ships to swap them with NPC's ships and recruit the S-Class pilots into my squadron, so that they fly Sentinels.

I equipped them with Photon Canon upgrades and Shield. Do i need to include any other upgrades?

And second question would be; when i swap the ship and recruit the pilots, they become someone else. Their stats and name are not the same anymore, and they go from being S-Class pilots to B. When i recruit them they have 200+ kills and excellent stats. After the swap they have around 20 kills....Ships name is also changed...

am i doing something wrong?

Can't you teleport to previous system? [Question]

I’m trying to reach the center of the galaxy, and my idea was to save the last space station I visited as a favorite so I could resume the journey from that point. However, when I use the teleport terminal in that station to travel to my freighter (or any other terminal), the station doesn’t appear in the list (it should show up as “previous system”). I’ve looked through some forums, but everything I find is years old, and things have changed a bit since then…

Why can’t Skylight roofs seal properly?! [Question]

I can’t be the only who’s had this issue, but I can’t get a seal on these even with the roof Gables. When I’m in my house, it doesn’t transition to a house setting. What am I missing here?!

I’ve used both types of Gables and that hasn’t fixed the issue. I’ve also use the quarter wall A/B variants to try and seal and gaps, but to no avail.

I have a save that I started with the Cursed expedition, and I want to use that going forward as my main save (kind of start all over again)

However, I just realized that I no longer had all of my companions from previous expeditions. I don't know why, I probably may accidentally deleted them. And I can't reclaim a new egg from the quicksilver counter (they should change this).

Is it possible for me to claim the rewards within a new expedition in that save, and transfer them over to my main save when I'm done? Or are they lost for good?

(I want to keep this save because it has the elixir of quicksilver recipe, and we can't get there anywhere else).

Found a moon with a grey tint [Screenshot]

Always wanted to find one of these planets with the grey image tint. I did find a planet earlier also on a nearby system but that one had already been discovered by someone else 5 whole years ago, but I'm glad it didn't took long for me to find my very own grey tinted moon!

Downside? Geothermal events and High Sentinel Activity.

800+ hours, I still find new stuff... [Discussion]

I've played NMS for a little over 800 hours and I've seen some awesome stuff, whether it's creatures, planets, player's bases and ships, or anomalies; I've seen some boring stuff too, like a single planet dead system with no life and about 5 minerals to discover (with absolutely nothing else).

Every now and then though, HG throws a little surprise my way - I'd just spent an hour finalizing my corvette Squat Sparrow (Fat Sparrow isn't permitted) after a big refurb; I jump in to take a test flight, and I get invited to join a frigate on an expedition to claim some bounties. It's nothing new to most, except it was to me, and it was enough to make me stop for a moment and appreciate the game mechanics. It gave a bit more depth to the usual pirate battle - because this time trouble didn't find my Traveller, my Traveller got asked if they wanted to go find it.

Any other mundane but mildly surprising encounters out there?

What’s going on with Xbox beachhead redux? [Question]

I know people keep asking but is there a way to contact them directly? I have wished and prayed we’d get another chance at this expedition and here it finally is and I’m completely left out… I’m going to be upset if we don’t get it at all. I’ll probably just quit for a while because I’ll have a nagging aggravation at the situation every time I boot up the game. And that’s not ideal for fun imo. Reactions/Thoughts about this game first time (160ish) hours. [Discussion]

This game is very interesting - great graphics - even using a keyboard on my mac vs a bluetooth controller after a while became very easy. I like the diversity in the characters of the game while people can customize their appearance and ships. I like the different weapons you can use with your mining tool. I would recommend this game to anyone who has never played.

This week though it just "hit" me. I have S mods on all my ship/mining/exosuit slots and so at this point its just a "grind" to finish off quests. So far, all the pirate/outlaw quests have taken me to the same guy on the same planet.. is that on purpose? You begin to realize that the planets look 'about' the same once you've visited each type.

Theres also some monotonous tasks to do unnecessarily:

once you've found a sentinel ship through the harmonic camp, collected the resources, fly to the monolith to have a harmonic brain that is neutral then fly back to get the ship then IMO you shouldn't have to go through the same old steps again. Its fine the first time when you are figuring it out but its literally the same steps and the same text on the screen that you have to hurriedly click through. The puzzles to unlock the glyphs should also be a lot harder.

Why cant i give all my effigys all at once to each race? Right now i have to do it one at a time and for each one i have to hurriedly click through all the same old text again. It becomes tiresome.

When getting upgrades for exosuit/exocraft/starship/buildings etc on the anomaly, when i use nanites to buy something it takes me out of the menu tree and i have to talk to the guy again to purchase other modules. Why cant i just continue to purchase until i am done?

I am not sure how i found my S mining tool so early on but i really haven't found a replacement to even consider at any space station or outlaw station....

Crimson Predator v2 - small offset corvette (no mods or glitches) - I would like to hear your thoughts. [Ship Builds]

The previous version presented here (https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/1ope0qw/atlas_corvette_builds_no_mods_only_an_offset/), I felt that it needs to be remodelled, be smoother, be more spacefighter than before.

So here it is, a small corvette that is built with 91 parts, a few panels, and lights. Small, and I mean it, there is only one hub usable, and two hidden in Atlas Wings, to attach these big boys.

Introducing the ATLAS-Entetprise [Ship Builds]

Enterprise INSPIRED build using the new aeron parts.

The Corvette is built completely using normal building methods. No glitches or mods.

Some of the decorations DID use the beyond base building mod to resize stuff and build things not normally allowed in a ship .. like the exo craft stations in top, a portal (seen through the back window), customization station (seen through the back window), and each of the base building NPC stations.

3 levels.

  1. Storage - all 10 storage bins and base construction NPC as well as a back exit/entrance.

  2. engineering and r&d - exocraft merchant NPC, ship upgrade terminals, refiners, and a drop entry for orbital drops from the front.

  3. Main floor - has a crew quaters, science dept, bar, lounge area, trophy center, weapons merch and storage, research depts and more.

Fully decorated.

All levels have windows.

Full mobile base. Storage, refiners, food processing, beds, medical, science station, weapons station. Everything a base needs.

Will update later with pics of the interior of anyone wants.

This is my build. Nothing taken from others except the Star trek inspiration itself.

I admit that I was wrong [Information]

I bought the game on Switch 2 when it was on sale a while ago. I hated the quest design because I just skipped through all the texts, my experience was like wow this game has me constantly recharging things. Even condemned the game here on Reddit. At this point I was like 3-5 hours in. Almost dropped it. But I kept playing. Then I started to figure out its mechanics. Met some veteran guy online and we played a couple hours, thank you Aaron. After that point everything changed. I started to understand the game. Not because he told me or gave me stuff (he didn’t because I declined) but I saw all the possibilities. After I invested a few more hours, followed the main quest a bit, read everything, suddenly a unique an interesting story unfolds, recharging is not a pain anymore and I just build my first own ship (S-Class) which is a massive upgrade to the starting ship. When I started Expedition 20 it had just 4 days left. Of course I didn’t finish but I kept the ship hey! Didn’t understand the concept, died, never came back and continued playing on my main save. And the discoveries I made are awesome. Censored Biom etc. The whole game changed while playing and I can’t stop making new discoveries. I know it’s a common topic here but the fact that Switch (even 2) is always a few days behind with the updates is a bit confusing as I remember the Nintendo Direct and the focus Hello Games got with it. However after a rough start, this is a game that keeps me playing. The last one that did was Witcher 3 10 years ago.

Minotaur [Question]

Am I the only one that thinks the devs should add a sprint mechanic to the Minotaur? Just think of it as a fast and powerful robotic sprint that can launch into a jetpack jump. You would cover so much distance very quickly and it would make ground exploration quicker in my opinion. What does everyone else think? Would this break the game? Or could this be a new necessity?

Issues with the anomaly [Suggestion]

The lighting is great but not on ships. It’s the only place to show off our ships and isn’t clear lighting at all. There are nice space stations with white lighting that could be used for inspiration

More corvette space. If there aren’t enough landing spots why does the game let them enter the anomaly? Tired of corvettes landing on top/inside my ship and we all get stuck in invisible walls trying to leave.

The game should redirect players to anomalies with space in them instead of piling every ship on top of one another. If they aren’t going to add more parking space.

Add chat box to console or add better variety of gestures.

FRESH start after expedition [Question]

Hello guys! I’m kinda new in this sub. I played NMS years ago and now I started again with my girlfriend, we started in expedition breachhead. New start we are doing the expedition but I have a question for when it ends.

I want to go to a VERY FAR AWAY place to start from 0. I mean to a solar system that isnt discovered yet, and almost every solar system in the vicinity are not discovered yet. I was thinking about taking black holes or using random glyphs in a portal.

But, I tried a couple of black holes and I found many systems already discovered. I tried the portal way but I need all the glyphs.

So I would love some idea, suggestion or anything that could help me.

I hope you understand what I’m looking for, English is my 3rd language.

I did an oops with the Expedition... [Question]

Got a question for those in the know!

I'm still a little new to this game... and I completed the Beach Head Expedition last night... after I got home from a difficult work shift and pushing 2 hours overtime... I was tired... but I decided to sit an push through doing the Expedition...

Had a lotta fun doing it!

Now for my question... I sorta screwed up at the end... didn't realize how tired I really was, and wasn't thinking about what I was doing...

I ended/finalized the Expedition before I remembered to transfer all the various tech slot/freighter module rewards from the various milestones! There were some nice S Class Freighter modules!

So... if I were to make a new save/new character... and go and redo this Expedition on that one...

Would I be able to collect those rewards again and say... TRADE them / "X" Transfer them... to my Wife's character on her game account... then trade them back to myself on my main save?

Can you transfer/trade tech modules ?

Living ship quest help please i have a bug! [Bug]

So I got 10 void eggs from someone in the anomaly and proceeded to take 1 out and start the mission.

As I progressed I noticed the game created multiple eggs and no I’m at the stage where it wants me to to find a specific planet.

After searching for about 5 hours I believe my game is bugged because it doesn’t even tell me that I’m on the wrong planet. Just to “examine the egg in my inventory and find the right planet.”

I have 3 different biomes to go to and I’m insure which is the real egg as I’ve only been playing the game for about a month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated because I’m ready to just throw all the stuff away at this point

New experience [Question]

I played nms when it came out and at the time quickly lost interest, after constantly seeing post/news/videos on how the game changed I decided to try again, and I am loving it.

I have been playing for 30 hourish, I have seen space stations and planets, they are always different, with different flora and fauna and that’s awesome. But I am wondering what is left to see besides the different planets? What new experiences are waiting for me as I keep playing?

I wanted to share this very unique viridescent planet. It has sauropods, raptors, iridescent sea turtles, and lots and lots of bubbles. So many bubbles. I personally find the bubbles a bit distracting, so I probably won't have a very large base here, but I can see where this might be perfect for some. Weather is "inescapable toxins," but by toxins they mean bubbles, so the storms are just even more bubbling with no appreciable effect on health. Sentinels are infrequent. Resources include Ancient Bones, Star Bulb, Sodium, Paraffinium, and Activated Indium. Come join Littlefoot and friends and feel like you've just popped a bubbly.

Beachhead expedition beacon from quicksilver guy [Question]

Hey folks, I am doing beachhead expedition on steam deck and I completed first 4 phases and first 2/5 of phase 5. I'm not seeing an option to get the beacon from the quicksilver guy. The universal mission progress shows tier 1 is complete but I don't see progress for tier 2 starting. Its been 2 days and I still don't see the option to get the beacon. What am I doing wrong?

How rare is the Dream Aerial Blueprint? [Question]

I've been sending frigates to try and get the Dream Aerial Blueprint but with no luck. I found a post from a few years ago on this sub with someone asking how rare it was but the only comments were people complaining about how they hadn't gotten it or saying that they got it when they sent out the Normandy or the Leviathan. I do not have the Normandy or the Leviathan. If you don't have an answer to my question, don't comment. It'll just make it harder for me to find the answer.

I feed sad on missing Voyage expedition [Question]

One of the reason I bought the game was the ship building update. However, the parts are very expensive, like 1 million units. I'm really sad I lost the chance to play its expedition.

Is there anyway(even paid) for me as a new player to be able to make my own ship without like months of grinding?

How are multi-tools categorized? [Question]

I have played this game forever and thought I understood how things work, but this doesn't make sense to me.

Photo 1: Class C MT that cost 1.5 million credits and is classified as a rifle.

Photo 2: Class A MT that cost 110k credits and is classified as a pistol.

I'm assuming the cost difference is due to one being a rifle and the other a pistol (?), but my question is, why does the game consider the white one a rifle and the pink one a pistol? I thought rifles were the big...rifle looking ones. What exactly is the difference? I have used the same Staff MT for years, so I haven't used a "regular" MT in a long time.

Today I Learned... [Information]

I have over 180 hours in the game, on my first play through, still haven't beaten the game yet. But I figured I'd share this in case anyone else hasn't figured this out.

On your Exosuit, Ship, and Multitool, you can only have 3 upgrades for any given item (excluding specific stand-alone upgrades like the Advanced Mining Laser).

However...this DOESNT include the blueprints you learn from the anomaly. So you can have 3 S-Tier upgrades for something, and still add your C and B tier blueprint upgrades on top of that to stack even more bonus'.

I'm late to the game, but honestly since this game doesn't really explain stuff to you, I figured at least one or two people might find this useful.

Sleek Clipper and Interior Walkthrough (Flip Glitch and Clipping) [Ship Builds Video]

This is my favourite corvette to fly and I live my r/malesurvivingspace (/jk) interior. Adding the single hab on top lets me put some storage and a refiner out of the way, and lets me access the roof (which is so handy in many situations). I love just setting the autopilot in-atmosphere and sitting in my chair watching the landscape slide by and the meteors crash down.

Built in vanilla on Xbox Series X - Glitch building is limited to flipping the Arcadia wings for the front fuselage. Clipping is used more extensively to hide 6 reactors and 4 beam turrets inside its sleek curves (mainly because the Arcadia wings and Ambassador thrusters don’t use all of the snap points that they cover up, so I could fit other modules inside them.

New Beginnings [Question]

I’ve been stuck on these 3 main quests for a while, and I’m confused whether there are other main story missions that I’ll have to complete after this. I already did the mission with the autophages and completed a staff, and I thought I was supposed to go to the center of the galaxy at some point. I started this save a couple of years ago and recently returned to the game, so I don’t really remember missions before the autophage quests. I see people talking about the purge tho so I thought I would get that but I think it passed already and the choice I made ended the main story? I’ve been going through black holes and trying to get to the center of the galaxy but was that just pointless then?

Relic Gate [Information]

Didn't think to take a picture of it, but I found a deep space anomaly and dropped out of pulse drive to find something called a relic gate that looked like a giant teleporter attached to 4 asteroids.

Just for chuckles I decided to fly into it rather than shooting it and it jumped me 66,000 ly from where I was with no damage to the ship. Cool find.

Ressources in other player's bases [Question]

Hello !

I have a question. If I visit another player’s base and look inside their mineral extractors, I sometimes see the resources they’ve collected. If I take them, will the base owner still have access to those resources? Would it mess up their farm? Just in case, I don’t “steal” them, but you never know!

Bottleneck? [Question]

I just downloaded this game again for the first time since launch (watched Atlas, ngl), and am getting sub-30FPS on an RTX 3070 on High settings. I am running an i7-12700F and I'm not super tech oriented. Any ideas on why this is happening on such an old title?

Sentinel Corvettes?!?! [Information]

So, I just got back into the game after a couple year hiatus, and gotta say I love being able to build my Corvette. Love the freedom, and apparently there’s a lot to catch up on I’m enjoying again (fishing is fun!).

But every time I go to the Anomaly, I see people that have what looks like Sentinel parts on there ‘Vettes. So I was wondering where I would go to find/purchase said parts to add to my Vette, cause they have the ambience I’m looking for. Also more color varieties, cause I don’t seem to have my usual black and red for my go-to.

Found a perfect paradise planet, but its in Hilbert? [Question]

I chose the "norm" decision and got into Hilbert, but I've heard that there's like zero people in the system.

What are the downsides for this? Should I just go back to Euclid and keep searching for a paradise planet? The one I found is AMAZING (but its in hilbert) so I am just wanting to know if thats a big deal. New to the game, just finished the main quest

How does the anomaly work in different galaxies? Does it cross between them, or am I just going to get an empty anomaly now from Hilbert?

I "accidentally" bought a smol shuttle. Does it have any use other than maybe role playing? [Question]

Hey there,

I'm relatively new to the game and found out yesterday that you can't disassemble all ships for parts. Now I have this ship in my shuttle bay that kinda looks like a front loader with no shovel and no wheels... I think I'll keep it for now bc it looks like a small maintenance vessel (it's yellow, too) and adds to the flair of the shuttle bay. And I also really like the cockpit view.

However, I was wondering if there's any actual use for such a ship that I'm overlooking?
Can I, for instance, put a certain set of techs on there which would make it useful for specific missions? Or something like that? Or is it really just a decorative RP object?

Finally Got Onboard - Eve Astero [Ship Builds]

This is the first iteration that I made in about 4 hours. The wings are not what I want, but until I can make them go in a circle around the ship, I’m stuck using these.

The design is based off of the Eve Online Astero. Without the wings it’s barely passable. Also, the full white paint job isn’t available here as well. Ahh, I miss thee so Astero.

S-Class ship [Question]

Hey everyone! I have been playing for a while but i am still flying my first starship (Riadiant Pillar BC1 - the default one you get). I wanna focus on getting s-class fighter ship. Which variation do you guys think looks better? [Ship Builds]

The first is 3 decks high with the lower 2 being a single hab and the 3rd being a hab and a walkway. It was a bit of a bother to turn the medusa reactor around. This was also the first version of the ship.

The second is a copy and is 2 decks high with the lower being a single hab and the upper deck being a hab and a walkway.

The third is the second ship with the lower deck stretched by a walkway behind the hab and the engines moved back.

Which one do you guys think looks more appealing?

Found my first Flea! Coordinates in the images, Euclid galaxy [Screenshot]

Finally I found my first flea, by random. And it was the second Sentinel ship on this save, I only had the one from the initial quest before. But nice, I like these, and it feels nice to find them in the wild. Same system had yellow royal ship, that I saw in the first wave on the space station :) Too bad I didn't have the credits to get it, but I have plenty of ships to use anyways so it's not really needed.

Wealth levels within the game [Question]

I've been a very long term lurker here, I've had the game installed but never played for over 18 months. RL getting in the way all the time, but as of yesterday I've started y journey.

After 3 hours of playing, I've manged to find enough goodies and have six million credits from selling my finds (not keeping corvette parts just yet).

Is this low, average, good? for this limited time in game? I know it's not an end game metric, just trying to get a baseline if I'm doing the right thing.

A lot of the tutorials I've watched seem to be

I'm an ex very long time Eve Online player, and just trying to align net-worth between the two games, even though I exited Eve with 100's billions in my wallet, that was still only considered well-off, with the more wealthy players into the many many trillions of isk!

Needless to say, 3 hours in, I'm hooked 😁

Freighter advanced system search abilities [Suggestion]

I was thinking it could be useful if a new type of room could be added that searches for specific systems within a certain distance. Based on your preferences and allows a list of typical parameters like star color, economy, conflict, race. With more advanced options like choosing specific star classifications like "G5f" for when you're looking for specifc temperatures, or planet types. Also targeting systems with a specified number of planets in the system, of if you want to look for specific resources. It tags all found matches and saves results in the galaxy map so you can see and visit all the systems. Once you leave a system and go back to the galaxy map, the remaining tags still remain unless you clear the search.

My Corvette has been "degloved" ! [Bug]

I built a corvette recently. Spent multiple hours and it turned out awesome! I would love to show it off to you guys but when I last called it, only the shell showed up. Meaning the 6 or 7 parts needed to work. The entire outer shell, all the pieces are not showing. The inventory shows everything but only this little grey wallflower shows up. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Please!?

Improved NPC AI [Suggestion]

Basically I would just love to see free roaming NPC in the wild that have thier own routines.

Instead of finding NPCs that just stand in one spot forever, they actually do stuff. They can mine, fight, use structures and have pseudo dialog with each other. NPCs that have thier own rapport system that can have alianaces or conflict and fight with each other.

I would also like if you can have a more elaborate dialog tree with any npc and can leave a positive or negative impression. Where you get in good graces, or if you antagonize, or anger them enough will fight.

A more ambitious idea is if NPCs could actually form alliances/cliques/gangs and form thier own bases, or even settlements. That you can be a part of if they are friendly enough, or be hostile and attack on sight.

Vykeen Daggers [Question]

These things are the bane of my existence. I started about a week ago and proceeded to go through the "tutorial/main" quest line for base building. Got a weapons dude who now needs two vykeen Daggers to not die.

For the life of me after 3 days of farming world chests, searching for outposts and trying to get them by practicing language skills with Vykeen I cannot get the 2nd one to drop.

What am I missing here?

Create new Universe? [Question]

Trying to understand how this might work. The game is procedurally generated. Okay I get that and understand. The game can be played offline but also seems to have an online element as I am seeing people have discovered stuff that are not on my friends list.

I am curious, is there a way to create your own "private" universe that is limited to just the people you choose to take part?

You can use expeditions to duplicate technology [Information]

Specifically starship and multitool technology. Basically you duplicate the item into the expedition and then before ending the expedition you transfer it to a new multitool/starship and then duplicate that back on your main save. Added bonus is you don't even use the slots for technology when you do so.

Procedurally Generated Weapons [Suggestion]

I know there has been talk of the need for a combat rework in the past. But what I think would breath new air into combat more than actually changing the mechanics of combat would be changing the weapons themselves.

The weapons themselves are already quite varied in nature and there is always the hunt for new weapon designs. This is great except for when you actually acquire and use them they're all the same. What if along with the weapon designs being randomized, the weapon projectiles tied to the weapon are also randomized?

Have the game produce procedurally generated projectiles with different effects, projectile counts, rates of fire, spread, varied colors, AoE, etc. So many aspects of the projectiles themselves could be randomly generated that would give every weapon you find not only unique to look at but also unique in its operation and function.

Do away with all multitool weapon uogrades, but keep the upgrades that allow for various damage upgrades that can just get applied to the projectiles it shoots.

The multitools can still be multi-use for mining, scanning, etc and none of those upgrades need to change. But it would be really cool to have each multi-tool be truly unique and it would help make combat a little more varied with different weapons. It would also add a whole new dimension to hunting down unique multi-tools.

Hey im a rookie still, iven stucked here for a couple of days. I originally had a base computer next to the harmonic camp, then i teleported to it and the camp vanished, but the mission icon and the mission are still there. No idea how to get unstucked. Any ideas? I tried deleting the base, teleporting to other system, going into space stations, anomaly, but no luck.

Xbox STILL not showing Expedition? [Bug]

Does anyone know what's going on with this or seen any news on when the Xbox is going to get the Normandy expedition? And yes, I've checked for updates, cleared my cache, etc. A couple days late I get, but this is getting ridiculous, especially for a redux where they don't need to load up a while new thing.

I need help, I am doing the Great Journey mission in the 3rd phase of Expedition 2 but being on the planet without air it does not count for me in the photo mode capture. I am on PS4 and when I press the SHARE button the capture is taken but it does not count for me in the mission, I have tried from several angles and nothing.

Would you accept a loading screen for a better corvette building system? [Discussion]

i know this game tries to avoid them when absolutely possible, but i was just wondering if hello games could vastly improve the corvette building by adding a whole module to the game that is specifically designed without the usual limits of the games engine, akin to a character creator like in other games that is specifically made to improve the experience while building corvettes and give you better tools.

also, maybe once youve built the ship in the corvette builder and export it to the main game, the building blocks could be merged into one single solid model so the individual parts dont have to be calculated and rendered at all times. it could drastically improve performance and may allow them to increase the build complexity and size of the ships.

the downside would be that youd have to load in and out of the build mode.

I feel settlement building should be further optimized. [Suggestion]

I've been playing the settlement building part of the game recently and I really like it! However, there is still room for improvement. I think they should make another update around it and add a few more features to really set it off as a endgame loop. Some ideas I have are:

Allow us to stack upgrades and dump them all at one time with an increase to the build time. Meaning if I have everything to upgrade from a C to an S than I should be able to do it at one time.

Houses need a redesign, they are just empty squares and don't really look like anything anyone would stay in.

Uncap the settlement amount. I should be able to scatter settlements across the stars.

Allow players to visit and spend units at your settlements and you get part of the money.

Make a ship upgrade that allows you to make policy decisions while out and about.

Add roads between the buildings

Allow players to place buildings and move them if needed.

If we are given the sentinel turrets upgrade than there should be turrets that appear and help during attacks.

Allow us to use the facilities to build a logistical pipeline that optimizes item production such as decreased time to completion, higher yields or a better grade of item.

establish trade routes between settlements across the galaxy to further increase your logistical output and profits.

Pretty much the goal here is to give players a structured endgame loop that doesn't feel like it gets hard capped or is too open ended like looking for planets.

“Hello Games doesn’t control when Microsoft pushes the patch” is not a valid excuse almost a week into the 2 week redux. [Discussion]

At this point they need to address this somehow. It is completely unacceptable to have a limited time event occur, and to have one week of that event pissed away for half of the platforms your game is on.

Someone dropped the ball here, but ultimately it’s up the HG to correct it. NMS is one of the golden children of Gamepass. There’s 0 reason an update for recurring content should be taking this long, and even less reason HG has said nothing about the state of the update going through on one of the games main platforms.

After I did a few pirate “quests” I can no longer recruit frigates. I’m still in good standing with all lifeforms and factions. Is there a limit to how many frigates you can have?

Usually when I come across freighters it only shows me what cargo they have when I target different parts.

Out of all of the Expeditions so far, which of them would be the best one to begin a brand new save with and why do you think so? [Question]

Starting a brand new expedition as a fresh new save comes with benefits that are specific to each Expedition- some may make for a great start to a new game, others not as much. I’m wondering which you think would be best and why. Personally, I think the Titan expedition because it gives you immediate access to a purple system, which while afterward you won’t be able to access any purple systems, except the one(s) from the expedition if you have a base on it (I think). Or, possibly the one that provides the Runner and the Atlas staff multitool? Although Utopia came with cool vending machines. Then again Cursed gave you an elixir with which you can open portals. Hard to choose- but which would be best?

Help, I can't refine anything! [Screenshot]

Help! The game broke for me yesterday and I spent most of the night trying to fix it. What's happening:

I started a new run on Beachhead Redux, my second. My first was a fresh start run. This one was with my main character. Note: I actuallly diddn't take anything in with me. One of my gaming behavioral issues is redoing things out of a desire a desire to always "do it better" and optimize my play, which usually means starting a new game.

I started with some heavy resource collection and had around around 600-1000 each of gold, silver and copper, and around 6000 mold to process, when I needed some pure ferrite (I think that was it) and discovered I could not run the personal refiner, with a graphic shown below that looks very intentional - not just a bug. I then installed a large refiner on my freighter and had the same issue.

I jumped to the next system and visited the anomaly, thinking maybe that was the problem. Sure enough, I actually didn't know the personal refiner skill. I learned that, but it didn't help. I dismantled the current one to build it from scratch, but only then realized I didn't have enough chromatic to build anew. :( I tried backing out to the load screen and only accomplished losing the gold, silver and copper to the refiner bug that's especially prevalent on carriers, apparently. Somehow, I seem to have also lost about 150 indium I had found (incredible RNG luck there!) I tried leaving to my main save - still had the issue. I tried other saves and they all had the issue! I tried restarting completely, verifying game files, a complete reinstall - nothing has helped. I even tried on my alternate steam account and that account is showing the issue too.

No ability to refine is completely game-breaking.

Check out this screenshot below - has anyone else seen this? Does anyone have a fix? I have opened a support ticket.

XBox and No Mans Sky [Question]

Microsoft has always been problematic in releasing updates for NMS. Ive seen it, experienced it and I realize its an ongoing issue for many players. Starfield is Published by Bethesda, which is a subsidiary of ZeniMax which itself is owned by Microsoft. Because Starfield in this regard is a competitor of No Mans Sky (a vastly superior game) is it coincidence Microsoft takes so long to release NMS updates?

completing Beachhead's uncharted system milestone [Question]

so I already searched this exact same thing and I still can't find a single uncharted system, so far i've upgraded the hyperdrive and drifted south away from the expedition with no success, i've also followed a tip that said to go in offline mode on steam for the systems to count as a first discovery, again without success. I'm thinking that at this point i won't even be able to complete the expedition for this singular objective.

Alrighty Reddit, do I have a story for y’all or what! So, I got out of work later than normal last night. Which was unfortunately going to eat up my play time. I decided to go to the anomaly and go AFK while I did some chores. I was keeping an eye on my character because I’ve seen some clips recently of people being kidnapped. Well that’s exactly what happened to me. This dude gets me onto his Corvette and takes off. When he did that my screen went white, I could still hear what was going on but I literally couldn’t see anything. I heard him pulse towards what I assumed was a planet and then I started panicking. He drops me off and I just hear “Systems Falling” I turned the whole Xbox off. I couldn’t see anyway and I was hoping that would fix that. It did. But when I tell you I was in a sea of FIRE. I was able to get onto land and call my ship to me then fly out into space to see what abyss this dude put me in. The planets were all undiscovered, I turn completely around and there is a small very green planet I figured was going to be toxic or something…. No… It was the most beautiful paradise planet I’ve landed on yet. There’s floating flowers and friendly fauna everywhere!! Then I realized I’M IN A WHOLE DIFFERENT GALAXY! I’ve been trying to figure out how to get the heck out of Euclid for a minute now. (I’m relatively new been playing for like a month mostly on weekends when I can dump hours in) So not only did this dude fail to kill me. He gave me exactly what I’ve been wanting! I’m literally so excited to get out of work and go explore this new galaxy and build a new base. Kind of a beautiful story and wanted to share. Also photo of said Paradise Planet. This game continues to wow me.

Switch 2 to Switch cloud save issues? [Question]

Sorry if this isn’t the right place - feel free to nuke this post or similar.

I recently bought the Switch 1 version of NMS on Switch while it was on sale and got the free Switch 2 upgrade pack.

I started a game for expedition 20 on my Switch 2 originally.

Whenever I try to upload that save to cloud, it looks fine from the Switch 2, but the Original Switch keeps saying “download required” and “local save is out of date and requires syncing with the latest uploaded date” yet downloading doesn’t improve the situation, it just persists.

A save file created on the Original Switch can be easily synced, downloaded, and played on the Switch 2.

Has anyone had this issue, or have any ideas on how to fix? Both Switches have the most current OS and the same version of NMS.

Building a bakery [Question]

I am building a spot to cook my herbal crunchies. I put in 80 nutrient refiners. I don’t seem to need that many because of the nipnip 10 Stacks needing to be added. I was just wondering if there are other foods that I might need more refiners to mass produce? I just don’t want to come back and redesign it later.

Losing internet crashes my PC, seems to be triggered by NMS, help? [Bug]

Been an on-and-off NMS player for years and haven't had this issue until now. Absolutely not a hardware issue, my PC can otherwise run the game. I've noticed that if there are too many other players around, I lose internet, the game freezes, and the only fix is to restart my computer. I'm currently trying to complete the Beachhead expedition and it's happened twice in about 3 hours.

No other game does this. Is there a setting I can change here? Like, what's going on?

Stuck at Patterns in time main story mission [Bug]

I have started the mission Patterns in time and am at the part where I have to complete one more mission at the Gek mission board. I can’t find the specific Gek station where the mission is on because I traveled too far from the mission. I also cannot Reset the mission by traveling farther away either through Black Holes or warping to a „Favorites“ base in the anomaly. I have reloaded my save and quit the game. I tried finding the mission in the galaxy map or at a teleporter. The mission is selected. I have tried talking to Nada in between to maybe trigger the mission again. I have no way of finding this specific station and I need help

Finding the perfect planet is pretty hard is there any websites that can scan for specific planets and give you the coordinates like the anomaly can find different planet types and survivability and oceans but idk if those are found by mods or just the community I need a perfect home planet

Question about resource spawns [Question]

Just wondering how the spawning/despawning of stuff you find on planet surfaces works.

As an example, trying to find a decent runaway mold deposit today so I was flying around randomly landing and scanning. I found one on the scanner 300-some u away but there was something else I wanted to check out about 100u in the other direction. I tagged the mold figuring I could wander over to the other thing, then turn around and find my tag for the mold. But when I went to find it the tag was gone and even when I returned to my ship where I initially saw it on my scanner I couldn’t find it anymore.

So is there a distance at which stuff will despawn? And if I understand correctly the only way to keep these type of resources respawning in the same location is to place a base or save beacon right? Otherwise the area will just be randomized again when I leave the area?

Getting full functionality of Medical Bay in Corvette? [Ship Builds]

I missed Corvette introduction. Breach Expedition was my intro and while I made a medical bay it didn't actually do anything! Supposedly it could heal, but the requirements are fuzzy at best.

How many reactors do you need for Corvette 'additions' to function? Placement, etc?

Slightly off-topic but why can't I see corvette class parts until they are finalized? I get the gist of price when if I try to sell them... but still no A, B, C, S... on the parts themselves

Anyone else still hoping for better co-op? [Discussion]

I really enjoy this game, but I can’t help but feel that playing with friends lacks a sense of connection. It often feels like we’re just playing side by side rather than truly collaborating.

I find myself wishing for a coop base that we could all contribute to and develop together, or for missions to be shared so we don’t have to complete them individually. Additionally, it would enhance the experience if our party's progress in expeditions was genuinely collaborative.

The new Corvet ship was a huge step forward but still buggy and missing coop features

It just seems like the game is so close to achieving that team dynamic, yet it falls short. Do you think there’s a chance we’ll see an update that addresses this issue effectively?

Can we do anything to push for that?

It is just me or do the corvettes feel extremely ungainly to fly and are borderline annoying to use in ship combat? [Discussion]

I will start by saying that I love the concept of corvettes, and I enjoy building them. I just find that I rarely feel like flying them. In the majority of situations I would rather just use my regular starship. Flying them feels sluggish and not very responsive. The ways to improve them feels opaque in comparison to starships. A prime example would be warp range, where my starship has a range of 1700 light years, where as the best I can get with the parts I can find for the corvette is 700 light years.

When it comes to ship combat, I feel like I lack the maneuverability to be even a shadow of how effective my starship is in the same situation. When comes to weapons it only feels like phase beams have any kind of edge in terms of destructive output, but due to the limited range of the phase beams it exacerbates the ungainly feeling.

As it currently stands it feels like the corvettes main advantage is the fun of building them and showing off ones creativity. There are also some neat role playing elements to them as well as fun multiplayer elements. But if you are a person who plays by themselves primarily they feel like they try to be a crossover between freighters and starships but they are an objectively worse and less useful version of both.

I think some improvements would be to add the addition of manable turrets for the cool multiplayer aspects of corvettes, and to make them a tad bit more nimble.

Did you realise the 90° planet dive after the last update? [Video]

After the latest minor update, they improved how you dive from space toward a surface target.

Now, when you pulse jump to a location on a planet, your ship automatically positions itself right above the target — perfectly at 90°.

Before this update, the pulse jump would always cut off a bit early, leaving you to glide through the atmosphere for another 10–15 seconds. Some players used to overshoot intentionally just to line up a clean 90° dive afterwards.

How are people handling discovering 8 systems for beachhead mission? [Question]

I’m doing beachhead expedition for the first time and I’m wondering how people are discovering 8 systems with a freighter that can only go into yellow stars and is in Euclid? Every system I go to around is either discovered a while ago or has been discovered in the last four days.

Are you guys just going through the trouble of building up to be able to travel to different color stars or traveling so far that you end up in another galaxy all together?

Hello travellers!
I need a bit of help regarding NMS.
I bought this game during premiere, we know how it game look back then, after few hours I've left it.
Few months I've come back did some kind of quests where I reached to 1st tower where I met Artemis? Something like that, I do not remember, but it is fairly close to start.
But my question is what to do in this game? I mean, I want to create bases and corvettes but there is/was so many DLC and I do not know where to start.
TBH mainly I want to play back as corvettes are here, last time I've spent like 5/6h in Starfield just to mod ships ;)
But what are steps from start to finish to get it? Is there and roadmap how I should follow plot, DLC etc?

So, I’ve started paying NMS on PS5 and I’m playing both the story and creative mode. Thoroughly enjoying both modes. Now after watching many YT videos, I’ve noticed many times that are being shown in videos when it comes to base building e.g. sink, is missing on the PS5. Is this the case? Star seed bug [Bug]

I have a three year old Hardcore character, that cannot access purple stars because I can't get the star seed from Atlas. In 2024 you made the water beautiful but you couldn't fix a 3 year old bug, that prohibits me from visiting exotic solar systems.

Anyone else not able to get the myth beacon? [Question]

The wiki says the myth beacon is available from the quicksilver synthesis companion for 80 quicksilver after you finish taking 3 dosimeter readings for Nada (which I've done), but it's not there for me. The first tier of the community research is finished, so I don't understand why it's not there.

I bought some charts and explored ruins because I thought I had to do that to unlock it, but it didn't make a difference. I can't talk to Nada or Polo, either. The log for the milestone to take dosimeter readings says to submit the readings, but there's nowhere for me to submit them. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

I just started No Man’s Sky the other day and have a few major questions.

Is it worth fixing up crash ships or should I just buy a new ship?

Is there a good money making method that would make creating a corvette more affordable as it is millions of units?

What faction should I raise my relationship with the most do any give specific bonuses?

Is it worth it to make a settlement and or become an overseer of a pre made one does it give a major cash flow or is it too much work?

A question about discovering systems [Question]

So, I’m attempting to complete the new Mass Effect expedition, the milestone I’m stuck on is to discover eight star systems. Eight??? EIGHT?!?!? It’s been tough to stay the least. I’ve even gone through several black holes, all with no luck whatsoever. I haven’t even been able to discover one. My question is—can I go back to my new normal campaign for that save that’s uncharted and just discover systems there, or will that not count towards the expedition? AND if it doesn’t count towards it, does anyone have tips for discovering newer systems?

I have a base, computer only, near a bunch of hexaberry spawns but after a few harvests, they've stopped respawning.

Is this a bug? What are the conditions for plants respawning in the wild? I've warped away, teleported away, spent hours doing other things, etc.

Ok hear me out. I've been playing this game since launch day 1. I've been one of the fooled players who drank HelloGames words and thought OG NmS was good. But since day 1 i've thrusted the process. How happy i am now with my days going on and still playing this game. Every day i launch the game and find another reason to play, I start by looking for a mission then go to plant a base on a fresh planet, then end up building corvettes just for fun...

First one is a copy of another fellow companion who made a tutorial to Build the Super Destroyer. then i keep playing, looking at others builds and end up with ideas. And let me tell you Something more. There is only 2 games that gave me that level of satisfaction when Ending a personnal build, wich Are Satisfactory and No mans sky. I feel full.

Stuck in a wall in my freighter [Bug]

So I just got back from doing the expedition redux, collected my loot from the expedition terminal, teleported to my freighter, installed my new tech from the expedition, collected my fleet missions, and went to assign new ones. Join exiting the fleet mission NPC, I found myself stuck in a wall of my freighter. I can wiggle and jump a bit, but I'm totally stuck.

Reloading quicksave just puts me back in the same spot, and my backup says 'no data', I'm assuming because I just got back from an expedition and nothing triggered a backup save yet?

Am I totally stuck and lost it all? I don't think I could go on playing losing this save...

If I put two things side by side that are the same type (thruster and thruster perk for example) I get a blue box around both. Does this mean I need to have them side by side to get the perks?

Corvette wishlist? [Suggestion]

Is there a running wishlist or megathread for Corvette suggestions?

Would it be particularly useful to have all our grievances in one place? Or is self indulgent to think anybody who's anybody would actually read it?

These are mine so far:

Better lighting in the Corvette builder

Fix the interior stairs pleeeaaase and/or add more options to traverse between stories

Snap points for interior furnishings and/or the ability to rotate them at fixed intervals. At least fix the weird rotation where items oscillate back and forth

¼ snapping grids

All parts rotatable on all axes: vertical cowlings or forward facing wings, etc

The option to install the interior modules on the ‘north’ and ‘south’ doors (and/or, rotatable haha)

Non tapered half/quarter cylinders similar to the speedbird nacelle. Similarly, “two block” versions of the fairings for a non tapered side profile like the aerofoils etc

Transition pieces from the blocky habs to the triangle wings and fairings etc, so we're not left with blocky exposed corners

'Hangars' in addition to habs, like, wide open interiors that operate similarly to the cuboid rooms

Build camera for interior placement

Improved “tech” slot functionality. For example: when the tech slots are full and you remove a corvette module, it will automatically be filled by another Corvette module. This is profoundly frustrating if you want to add another module without deleting your whole Corvette. The ability to 'remove' the tech and it's conferred benefit while keeping the piece would be very useful. At the very least let us remove the photon cannon if another weapon is installed

Looking for techno/electronic music to jam to while playing No Mans Sky [Discussion]

Hello! I am a big fan of the game (on my second playthrough) but I'm quite tired of the music and would appreciate some recomendations.

Songs that I adore which totaly fit my prefrences would be the album Silver Cord (King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard) and many songs by Frost Children, in particular their recent song Dirty Girl (I mostly like the buzzy synth that drones throughout the song)

Generally these are the genres I am aiming for: Techno, Breakcore, Synth heavy, Bass Heavy, fast paced. I would be fine with any all or even none, I'm just looking for reccomendations to vibe to. Ambient music is cool, I also love lyrics, that doesnt matter to me.

Switching Freighters [Question]

So how can you get the technology that was installed in your old freighter back so that it can be put in the new one? Or is it just gone now? And why can’t it just be transferred in the screen when the cargo can be, since if you leave to summon you freighter to uninstall all of the upgrades, before claiming the new freighter, then it disappears and then your screwed.

Anyone know?

Hello Games listed some timeframes when expeditions (Normandy, and the remix) are expected to be released and for how long, but as of right now, I still don't have access to the Normandy expedition on Switch.

Axunia Ocean City I Still a Work in progress I Coordinates in the Video [Video]

Little project I started this weekend!

I don't have any or much furniture in the buildings yet, but I'm trying to cover the whole island with multistory walkways and alleys. It started out as a fishing port that got expanded by my boredom.

This is my home planet with two settlements and a home base on the other side of the planet. It also has a very attention seeking worm that likes to make his presence known by being loud and flooding the fishing docks. Feel free to stop by and say hello. This ship was made for ramming! (No mods or glitches used to build) [Ship Builds]

My concept behind it is it's literally a hammer, it's a ship that's designed to fly at a much larger ship and boost into its hull as a focused kinetic weapon.

I tried to make the nose as round as possible for this reason. The nose is actually composed of six different parts. Two cowlings, one inverted and four engine covers to form the round edges.

I based the shape of the nose off of the Correllian Consular ships from Star Wars, like the Tantive IV. (Princess Leia's ship)

I also tried my best to give it a distinct V shape but not ending in a point with some hull reinforcements around the nose to absorb impact. Also the ship is much bulkier in the back, but the front is (comparatively) almost a point, to focus all the energy of the impact into as small as possible of a striking surface! No mods or exploits were used to make her, the Aeron's Hammer is entirely vanilla.

Docking issues/glitch [Question]

Can any tell me why my Corvette keep passing right by predetermined landing zones like the space station and the freighter? It finally stops and spins me around in space. Then docks me out in space. I had over 150hrs with no problems then this started happening every time I try to dock now. Any ideas on how to fix this issue? Maybe a dev. can help?

Finally after missing it the first time I didn't want to miss it again and so happy with finally having the Normandy in my fleet and such a quick expedition to get done and finished in less than 2 days so I brought in my recreation of the Normandy and I'm happy with it all time to prepare for the next exped being Exped #18: Titan

New and confused player here [Question]

Hi! So I’m relatively new to this game and I have a question. I was exploring a dissonant “forsaken” planet. Things were relatively chill, and I’ve gotten a mission to recover some radiant shards to do something with a crashed sentinel ship. Then, when I was mining di-hydrogen, a corrupt sentinel attack started. And no matter how much I fought them off (I was fighting them for an hour), the attack doesn’t seem to subside, and even when I pulse-jumped to another planet, somehow normal sentinels appeared and started attacking me. I also can’t just run and hide.

What could be causing that? Any tips would be appreciated

Beach Head Expedition “Uncharted” Milestone [Question]

I was wondering how exactly to do this, because it says simply discover systems, and it says I’ve discovered 1, but I’ve been to several star systems at this point and I’m not sure how to make it count other then discovering systems that haven’t already been discovered, but the problem is that with this being an expedition most systems around the general area are already discovered. Can someone tell me how exactly to complete this one?

Called By The Stars Milestone Expedition 2 Redux [Information]

TIL that you can easily complete the Called By The Stars milestone WAY quicker than running the 3 missions. You can launch a fleet expedition then immediately go to your command and talk with you captain. Abort the mission, then debrief. It counts as completing the mission. This does waste your frigate fuel though if you are trying to save it or don't have a lot.

Permadeath Trophy [Bug]

This will be the fourth time I’ve tried and failed to get the trophy. I race to the center on each playthrough and the trophy never pops. I’ve deleted the game and redownloaded, tried on both PS4 and PS5 versions and still nothing. I tried 3 times back to back a few months ago and couldn’t get it to pop. I took a break as I was extremely disappointed with this situation. Started a save a few days ago and made it to the center tonight. Still can’t get the trophy to pop. I’ve reloaded my save multiple times but it still never gives me the trophy. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to complete the main story? I get far enough to acquire the technology I need then head straight for the center. I have over a hundred hours across all 4 attempts to obtain this trophy to no avail.

I lost my best ship that took me weeks to find [Discussion]

I accepted a mission to help so autophage guys with a ship salvage. i got directions to a crash site. When i approached the ship, i clicked "swap ship" instead of add to collection. I jumped in, fixed it up and flew it to the station to scrap it. That's when I realized it left my old ship behind. I dont think I'll ever be able to find it again and it took me weeks to get it. My last restore point was after the swap. I'm sure I'm not the only one this has happened to. This seems kind of unforgiving. The word "swap" to me means I was using ship A now im going to use ship B. NOT "get rid of ship A forever". This really blows.

Broke Atlas quest? [Question]

I've been doing the Atlas path for a while now by just jumping to different systems over and over again until i got all the blueprints for the spheres. However when i went to the the place where it asks you to create a new star i realized i didn't craft any of the spheres and therefore didn't have the heart of the sun.

So i refused Atlas, even reconsidered and when i realized i needed the stones i went and crafted them all. But now i can't find the empy interface and Atlas just tells me i refused it and gives me the option to discharge the mark (??). Except i don't have any mark and so it doesen't let me discharge.

Am i just stuck now? How will i be able to go to purple stars without finishing Atlas quest?

I've recently got my first living ship, it's all nice and i really like it, but i haven't installed any tecnology (organ) on it because i don't know how to get them.

Should I or not [Question]

I made this massive cruiser ship finally, well looks are ehh but i like it for now. I made this for storage so that I can add storage and have a moving storage mouse when ever I want. I made it 3 store bottom floor is one long hall, 2nd is 3x wide area for stoages and top floor for pilot. So like shall I give my all and make it my kain base ship like home, because I am not very confident about it to have, is it or will be a waste. Can I move into w much better design later own, Because I still aren't satisfied with the design.

Thrusters not active [Question]

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great, I had a blast playing No Man’s Sky recently, I’m a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fan and I followed a tutorial on how to build the Milano, in the tutorial, the ship had all the thrusters that I have on mine and they all are working, but in my ship, there are two that are not working properly, I was wondering why? I have below 10 thrusters. The guy from the tutorial was playing on PC and I’m on PS5, is there something to do with it? Thanks very much :D

How do you all spend most of your time playing NMS?

For me, its simply finding crashed starships and repairing them. Nothing more than that. I tend to spend all my time in the star system my base planet is in, and gathering the materials for repairing any damaged components for the ships I collect.

Did they patch out a corvette glitch technique? [Question]

I'm referring to the ability to delete corvette parts from a second corvette build station.

You build your corvette on one station, finalize it, walk over to the next build station, then you could pan the camera to the corvette in the first station, and delete parts (including the necessary ones). This allowed for minimalist/aesthetic builds.

Seems that I can't do it anymore.

What to do with the myth beacon? [Question]

I’m doing the Mass Effect event for the first time (new player here), and I’ve gotten to the milestone where I have to deploy the myth beacon, but I’m not sure how to work it. I’ve found literally DOZENS of boundary failures, but none of them have let me deploy the beacon. I thought I hit paydirt when a friend of mine found a boundary failure with player tech all around it, but it won’t even let me interact with it in any way. Has anyone else had this problem? I’m so confused

Light Source Limit? [Question]

I am running into a problem now where when I land at a station in my Corvette, and enter the station, if I turn to face in the direction of my corvette the light sources on the station itself stop emitting light. The surroundings go dark, essentially. The only solution is to change ships, and then the lights immediately start working again.

What is the light source limit? How do I increase this?

This is very odd, but resembles the Skyrim light limit, except in Skyrim one could only have four light sources. No Man's Sky is considerably higher.

I have a lot of parts inside my corvette, and quite a few light emitting sources, out of necessity, as the ship is quite large now--almost 2000 pieces.

Will this game ever stop deleting my stuff?? [Bug]

I'm fed up with the game. Seriously. Why the fuck it always deletes stuff in my refiners, stellar extractors and even the nutrient processors??? Stuff I so carefully grinded, crafted, combined is always gone whenever I reload my save or warp somewhere. Is there any way to spawn the lost materials so I would get them back? I know I can turn the crafting and the purchase prices to free, that's not I want. This will not give me my multi-staged cooking ingredients back. Shit is tedious to make already, with all its "turn one thing into another thing and that into the other and so on 10 times until you get the product", and now it deletes my stuff as well.

New Building Tip. [Information]

Hello everyone! I’m new to NMS, so my apologies if this has already been shared. I’ve found a much easier and far less frustrating way than the usual wire trick to build and rotate floors to use as walls.

How to do it: Place your desired floor. Grab an alloy roof panel in free placement mode, angle it the way you want the wall to face, and position it using the floor for alignment. This might take a few tries. Use the top edge of the roof panel to place your wall exactly where you want it, adjusting the angle as needed for perfect positioning.

Happy building!

Step 1, Find and place the desired floor type.

Step 2, Select the roof panel and switch to free placement mode.

Step 3, Rotate the roof panel for your desired wall's location.

Step 4 & 5, Place desired floor type on the roof panel, readjust the roof panel as needed.

All the Expeditions. [Question]

So, I just startet a new save, where I will do ALL of the previous expeditions. I just started playing 1 month ago, and I have well over 300 hours in game already 😅💀 I saw other players having really cool stuff, only obtainable trough quests, and I really want it, so... I know I can cheat it in, but that doesn't feel right, so I'm doing them all, back to back 😅 I have currently done Pioneers, Beachhead and Breach. Started Cartographers last night.

Do you have any tips or tricks for any of the expeditions I have left? Items worth taking back to the main save? Items to bring before going into a new one? I usually go in blank 😅

repair progress went back down [Bug]

kinda pissed right now, i spent tons of time mining 900 paraffinium to repair all the radiation leaks in a crashed starship i have, then when i went to another system to get more stuff for the ship and other things. when i come back to the ship to repair it i find that the progress of the paraffinium repair went DOWN to 55/150. is this some sort of thing thats never mentioned or a bug? i hope its a bug

Haven't logged in since 2021. Started playing again during this fall. I was actually hunting for S-Class Sentinel ships and ran into this. At first, I was just excited to see any S-Class ship. After some research, I realized the low probability of finding this ship in crashed state. I've now fallen into the exotic starship rabbit hole and been searching for all the royal model variants. (I know I can easily google for coordinates, but I get some dopamine from finding them in the wild).

For a story that kinda, sorta, maybe In a way that ends up very similar to another similar space faring game cough Starfield cough, I really enjoyed my ending. I went with the galaxy reset ending.

My four weeks discoveries got awarded to someone else yesterday [Bug]

Good morning, I found out that a lot of system/planets I discovered WEEKS ago and even created a base on them, are now someone else's discoveries as of "yesterday". How/why does this happen? I have multiplayer ON all the times, good internet connectivity, and upload my discoveries at the end of each game session. Does it mean my current home planet where I have all my bases will eventually be someone else's? that kinda kills the whole point of the game to me. Don't come with the excuse "your upload failed in the background", I can seamlessly see and interact with a lot of players on the anomaly, but the game fails to upload... a few kbs, at the most?

Exploring for a Space Station with Good build lighting in game-Impossible goal? [Discussion]

After getting slight headaches and alot of eye strain from the space station lightening, my corvette building has stopped.

I know there is a mod for lighting for building a corvette in a space station. And it's a good mod from what I've seen.

But I like making goals in game, so I'm now zooming around a galaxy visiting station after station looking for lighter colors and better lighting to build a corvette.

Is this an impossible goal? Have you found any?
