Extreme Survival Achievements [Question]

I'm trying to get "Stranger in a Strange Land" and "The Sentinel" achievements. I have tried residing in multiple extreme planets and the progress always stops around 15 minutes in, even though I'll still be tabbed into the game. I'll be forced to restart the game over and over for it to start counting minutes again. It really sucks because I can't afk and progress towards the achievements. I only have around 18,000 minutes and it has been an extremely slow and tedious process. Thoughts on what to do? I've even tried custom difficulty where I disable damage taken and I stand on the surface, out in the open, and it still does the same thing.

What should I transfer? [Discussion]

Just wondering what everyone to taking back to their main saves from the expedition, using the terminus. I plan on taking back my suit expansion modules, and my starship storage modules, freighter bulkheads.

Just needing to know anything else I should look into taking with me.

I litterally only bought the game to build Corvettes, hope you enjoy it as much as i did. [Screenshot]

Its more than a ship, its a settlement, its a home ❤️ ( Outer look starts at image 13 ) Here i take you through a lived in explorer, built with make shift mad bays self adjusting shields and comfortable nooks and crannies to sit ,fish, and chat as the ships ai reaches your destination.

Its hard to show in just pictures but theres tons of lil lights flags and clutter all around to make it look like a loved member of the fleet.

The game even glitched and moved the center of mass making it impossible to add more building blocks without glitching the position of things. Hope the irin out the builder soon but its a wonderful tool so far 💕

Ill likely build something more sterile next, but i love the look of this asymmetrical touring ship Im calling it the CTF-301 Ragnarok

Sentinels just keep running away from me [Bug]

I don’t know why but I’m doing the corvette expedition and when I try to get a higher wanted level I get in my ship and they just warp in and then fly away. I can’t kill them before they get away. What should I do?

Made a Delta wing Corvette. [Ship Builds]

May end up tweaking some area's like adding 2 more reactors for a total of 5 since its severely lacking engines. also the walkway before the cabin bugs me since its not rounded, it would be nice if they added a semi-circle walkway. Also a big fan of the top mounted turrets, with the light reflection on it looks amazing when shooting. (dont mind the colors, i will change that after deciding on final edit)

Help new player fix expedition mistake, merge separate saves? [Question]

My friend joined me in multiplayer and then we started Expedition 19 together.

He just finished the expedition, but we were confused that he's still his Expedition character. We just realized the hard way that he's been playing a separate from his main save the past couple weeks.

Is there anyway to recover from this misunderstanding? Can he merge his Expedition save into his main save at this point, even though he 1) didn't start it from his main save and 2) already ended it.

Trouble at the anomaly [Question]

I'm hoping someone reads this that was at the anomaly when this happened. I was hanging out at the anomaly lat night about 12 hours ago, chilling and watching ships and vettes come and go. Next thing there was a massive explosion in the vettes section, right hand side looking at exit. Was like a frighter being destroyed, my game froze for a second and then restarted. I was to slow to get a screenshot. What happened, looked cool as if two vettes collided. Something new to me after 300 hours

[PS5] First person bubble theory [Bug]

So anytime I run in first person my screen is violated by nasty white hexagons.

But I think I figured out why. The "bubbles" look the same as the ones flowing through the tube at the top of the new backpack that came with the update.

So when I took the backpack off, the bubbles went away. Which seems to show that there is a visual glitch of some kind causing the backpack to clip into the first person camera.

PSVR2 Graphics buggin [Bug]

I have psvr2 and ps5 non-pro and it seems recently the graphics are bugging out. There are huge pixels missing from clouds that stay in place when I move my head and flashing lights in station or there will be no lighting just flat, unshaded textures in my corvette. It was not like this a couple days ago.

Does anyone else have this problem?

But the mind wanders, and I couldn't help but imagine what might happen if halfway through construction space pirates stole it and hacked the tech to make a jury-rigged Corvette Frankenship. Terrestrial Homes [Bug]

I just cant get a marker for this quest or the joy of home quest. If im in a diff galaxy it'll warp me back to this one after leaving the anomaly I landed on each planet just to be sure but Im not getting anything and I really need the quicksilver from this weekend mission. Does anyone know somehow to workaround this or am I just shot out of a bunch of quicksilver?

CORVETTE DOESN'T EXIST HELP [Bug]

I was doing the expidition close to the end and warped out of a system and was stuck on a black screen but could still see my menus left and joined back repeatedly until I could see again, when I left and joined back my Corvette was stuck permanently in edit mode and when I went to edit it it completely disappeared, no parts in the module storage or cache, so I loaded an older save and had a friend take me to orbit, I could summon it there but can't warp has literally nothing and there is no ship. Help.

Is this really the "fixed" no man's sky people talk about? [Discussion]

I decided to try the game after many many years avoiding it after the disastrous launch.
I've seen so much core gameplay and features that look so interesting that it really got me into it.
But the quality of this game has left much to be desired, despite the scope.
Ships changing scale randomly, things vanishing, falling through terrain, ships with invisible pieces, inventory glitching out and items getting deleted. Tried co-op and sometimes sentinels die on one person's screen but not the other allowing invisible sentinels to damage you, sometimes ship targeting just turns off and you can't do it anymore mid-combat. I made a corvette and portions on the inside just sometimes don't render. These are just things I can think of off the top of my head everything feels so janky.
I really want to play this game but it's outright fighting me. Is there some sort of community fix or setting or something?

How can combat be improved? [Discussion]

Basically the title. I for the most part feel underwhelmed by the combat in nms, not from the choices we can make or weapons to use. But rather the actual difficulty of Sentinels and Corrupted Sentinals. They both have very few enemy types and the ones that are there are shallow.

On the Sentinels side we have: Basic Drone Heal Drone Summon Drone Quad Mech Walker If you include space combat Intercepter Capital ship 8 enemies is not enough imo Now the corrupted drones Basic Corrupt Drone Small Crab Big Crab In total there are 11 enemy types in this game that can all be overcome by a basic multi tool. I want more enemy types and more challenges to overcome in combat. I'm not looking for dark souls in space but just more variety. Maybe some enemies are weak against certain weapons and strong against others that cause you to make a decision in combat that isn't a dps check. But other than that love the game!

The game corrupted my OG file I had since day one. [Bug]

Psn player here, playing since day one. I have many files but I mostly played with the main save, which i took to every single exploration. I had hundreds of hours on it. Now when I load it, my game crashes every single time. And even the file on the cloud is useless. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. In this moment of distress, and about to delete the game for good, i wanna leave with a bitter note. Eff you Sean, eff you HG.

Guys, "never take your main file to expeditions", is probably the only lesson I can learn from this. And that the bugs that harm the game at every update, are the thing that pushed me away from a game that I loved and defended with all my self even when everybody was talkin sh** at it. Eff you Sean and your bugged a** expeditions messes.

Are there any lava proof exosuit modules? [Question]

I did something extremely dumb after making it to the galactic core and doing the reset. It started me fresh on a planet with volcanoes and I had the bright idea to land on one and build a base on top of it. I wasn't taking any damage until I moved and then it went downhill fast, panicked right into the lava and then proceeded to die another 20ish times in a loop bc it popped my corvette above me. I finally managed to glide away from the fire but I'm now realizing I might be at a loss for all of my stuff because I can't get any exocraft close enough to even touch my grave. I was hoping the community had some ideas but I totally understand if it's a loss because I did a lot of dumb back to back.

Is it possible to fly around in a cruiser/big ship as opposed to your small ship? [Question]

Just getting into the game so I’m not sure if this is possible. Can you get a large cruiser type ship and have your fighter docked inside it? Then set your ship on a course and just hang out in the cruiser and walk around as opposed to being limited to being sat in a cockpit? Then head to your fighter to actually land on a planet.

Hopefully not a silly question!

The planet has Intermittent sentinels for relaxed mode, low for normal, and aggressive for survival. Ruling species in the system is the korvax, conflict level is 2, and the economy lies in shipping and is satisfactory. There are 6 planets, all of them named after Greek gods with most of the names being Greek mythology equivalents to some of the Roman mythology names in our own solar system!

Hello everyone! The window on the "Titan" hab module is monstrously dirty and filthy; you can barely see anything outside through it. Is there anyone who could extract this texture into a .dds file and upload it somewhere, specifying the folder hierarchy (like TEXTURES/COMMON/SPACECRAFT and TEXTURES/EFFECTS/SHIP) for further editing of this abomination's transparency? Please let me put stairs against a wall [Video]

I'm brand new to this game, just started playing it earlier today, I'm about 6 hours in and I finally unlocked base building. I put together my little hut and afterwards unlocked some stairs. So woe is me when i decide to put a half stair against a wall. Why can't I do this? Why is it going INTO THE GROUND, OUTSIDE THE BASE AND INTO FREE PLACE instead of just resting against a wall.

Still having a great time and enjoying the moon I just found a little home at.

Those Big Massive Flying Worms Things That Can't be Scanned Apparently - Do They Count Towards a Planets Scanable Fauna Completion List And Those Sweet Sweet Nanites? [Question]

Just made my first batch of donuts and currently on a scan hype, its crazy how much you make. However Im now on a planet where I've scanned 11 out of 12 fauna. And the only 1 left is a Rare Ground Type. The worm is pretty rare and literally the only red dot I think I can find.

What do you do here, give up and move on? 🥲

Corvette Building Bug [Bug]

I'm currently working on my Corvette and there's one particular area where it won't let me place anything. There's nothing there at all but any parts I try to place there refuse to even let me try. I don't think it even appears red like it's telling me no. It's almost like there's an invisible wall where I want to put the part. I had something placed there before and apparently deleted it at some point, and now I can't put anything back. Does anyone have a solution?

Corvette cooking and containers [Question]

First time I was cooking in corvette all the inventory was available, I got all cargo containers installed on corvette. It was extremely easy and comfortable to cook. I didn't change anything, but now containers aren't available? Only exosuit, ship and general freighter inventory? How do in fix it?

How to make additional Corvettes? [Question]

From what I've read, I assumed you could make and keep more than one Corvette stored in your starship collection. But when I go to the Corvette Workshop, it doesn't give me the option to build new ones; instead it just says, "No Corvette docked for modification".

Am I doing something wrong, or is the one corvette that I already made the only one I'm allowed to have?

Rate My Corvette [Ship Builds]

Been a minute since I've been on NMS, buddy and me played for a bit today before I learned about the corvettes, tried my hand for a while, built 2 solid ones that I ended up keeping and scrapped about 7 that I just didn't like enough, out of the ones I've made so far this ones definitely my favorite, replaced one of the old exhibition ships but well worth imo, stripped off all the old parts and put em on this, got lucky enough to also have 3 supercharge slots right next to each other, plus similar maneuverability to my sentinel ship so I'll take it

Definitely gonna keep building corvettes, even if I just scrap them, this is one of those features that's gonna make me continue to play for hours on end just trying to build my perfect ship, after looking at some of the other builds on here I've got some good ideas aswell 😁

Trying to start The Purge [Question]

I'm wanting to get a staff ultimately and I looked online how to do it but I'm confused as to where I am. I'm pretty certain I've completed the main quest as my current main missions are Space Anolomy, Atlas Eternal and New Beginnings. I have gone to the center of galaxy once and read I have to 16 times total. But it also looks like I should be doing The Purge quest during this and it's not there. TIA

Expedition multitool [Question]

Hi everyone! I started an Expedition save in No Man’s Sky. After leaving the first planet I went to a snowy, dissonant planet in the same system to look for a Harmonic camp (for the multitool) and to collect Corvette parts. On my third attempt I found an A-tier Sentinel Rifle multitool. Should I keep it, or is it worth hunting for an S-class? In my previous save I couldn’t find anything better than a B. I have only about 30-40h gametime so im not that experienced.

Voyagers finally got me. [Discussion]

I bought - and refunded - the game 2 times previously. I just didn't have the patience. Third time is the charm, I guess. I played other space titles since then. The corvettes got me. 😜

Some games seem to require a degree in engineering to build a ship. Others feel cookie cutter. Others make you feel like the ship is more important than you are.

This feels like it's mine. I laid it out. I placed the interiors. Walking around instead of it is a blast.

I think I'm here for the duration.

Anyone else have a similar vibe?

First attempt - Babylon 5 Omega Class Destroyer [Ship Builds]

This is my first attempt at replicating the iconic Omega Class Destroyer from Babylon 5. Just shy of the part limit. Obviously the center part does not rotate (pretty please, @ HelloGames ;) ), also I am not fully happy with how the front part looks. (If anyone has ideas, I'd be happy to hear them)

This is just corvette parts for now - meaning no other decoration or base parts. To get some of the parts placed, there is some offset glitch building in play, though.

I am hoping for HG to allow arbitrary part rotation some day, this would simplify a lot (I know there are glitches to achieve this, but I am not keen on using them)

Someone stole my corvette! [Bug]

I had just spent like an hour working on my perfect ship, was fitting it out when a player came aboard so I let this dude ride with me while I worked on the interior, but somehow this fucker managed to swap their corvette with mine and now I'm stuck with someone's dick ship. Help needed - how to rotate corvette modules in steam deck [Question]

I realise that this is a stupid question but Google has failed me. I've recently started an expedition and received my new corvette parts. Unfortunately I'm a bit stuck with the steam deck controls for building the corvette.

How do you rotate the module? The ui says: L1 + R1 (and a circle arrow) I've held the buttons and wiggle anything that can be wiggled but nothing happens.

I'd appreciate any help you could give.

Hardstuck in Expedition 19 [Bug]

As the title says, I’m hardstuck right now. My corvette is vanished and I’m unable to build a new ship or buy new modules. The module rewards from the milestones have disappeared along with the corvette. And all this 1 mission before completing my 1 first expedition. Any ideas? Please? :‘)

New player here. The video kinda self explains my problem. I set the amount to 50 but as soon as I start the process it resets to the full amount. I tested it with some slower materials. It resets the amount after exactly one item processed.

I am on PC latest version i think as i just downloaded the game.

Is there a button i need to press to confirm my set amount? Am I doing something wrong here?

My humble dreadnought : the Big Boss. [Ship Builds]

Not sure how it stands but it's finally something I like !

Painstakingly crafted from salvaged parts I spent two evenings collecting. It's meant to be sturdy, menacing and massive but mainly self sustaining and far reaching.

It has two functioning hatches. Some choices (including the ambassador cockpit) were made for practical reasons / interior design flavour.

100/100 parts, I had to go through many iterations because of parts becoming invisible after warping (much head scratching before I figured that out).

Game servers and Matchmaking error [Bug]

I'm trying to play the game since Tuesday, tried everything I could find online regarding firewall and messing with my wifi/antivirus settings but nothing has worked so far. The screenshots are in Italian, but it just reads that there's an error with matchmaking and with the creation of a web socket. I've accidentally glitched by Corvette build and I've been able to place parts inside other parts but I need to recreate it on the other side.

Does anyone know how to do this glitch?

Happy with how my corvette turned out [Ship Builds]

100/100 Complexity, about 50-60u long in total, but quick access to cockpit, lots of storage, refiners and 2-story living quarters in the back :-).
2 Ceto reactors for shields, 1 azimuth for auto charging and 1 zenith for a bit of hyperdrive range. Otherwise fully upgraded to S-Class and decked out with upgrades. Overcharged positron, photon cannon and cyclotron ballista.

I found this nice ship and I repaired quite a bit of it but not the engine or thrusters so it was still unusable. Anyways, I took my old ship to salvage it but the spawn ship was the only available ship for me, when I went back to where broken ship was, it was gone 😭. Lost everything [Bug]

I had just completed the corvette expedition, went to the Anomaly to end it. After I terminated the expedition, my Corvette, My freighter and all my multi-tools and modules are gone, I have basic equipment with empty inventory, when I try to summon them the menu says I don’t own any freighter and doesn’t even show a corvette summoning option. Please what to do.

smell of metal - settlement quest [Question]

I got this quest a few days ago, and immediately went to do it, but for some reason the sentinels will not stop spawning, and I am completely out of ammo now (I picked up the canisters the dropped but still ran out) and I was wondering if this was a bug and if yes, is there a solution. also how do you get more ammo without killing sentinels because I am tired of killing them with the mining beam. the last part is a skill issue I know ;(

Fossil piece turned into unusable(?) Placed Fossil [Question]

I put a fossil piece as decoration on my corvette, after dismantling it I noticed it's missing: I can't place it again, and I can't find it in my inventory, and instead I have this. I can't find any way to use this.

I'm pretty sure I've done the same with other pieces, and they dismantle back into the original piece.

Anyone know what happened here?

Expedition Loot and Items [Question]

Good day, I absolutely love the Voyagers Updates. So much even that Expedition 19 was the first expedition I participated in. I started from the main Menu as a new Expedition save, as YT and some other posts suggested that you can transfer loot and items from the expedition save to your main save. However I didn't find an option for that when completing the expedition in the anomaly.

Did I miss the option or is this only possible if you start the expedition from the anomaly of your main save?

Sorry but I am very confused and a bit disappointed that I can't take the valuable and unique items to my main save now.

Corvette cargo slots on parts - what is the purpose? [Ship Builds]

Can someone explain to me what the corvette parts with cargo slots actually do? I have not seen any influence on the cargo space at all, but maybe I've been looking at the wrong thing.
In case they actually to give you cargo space, what happens if you remove those parts??

A suggestion gor minor QoL [Question]

I’m on a ps so no mods available for this. So I have a suggestion for a minor QoL improvement and I’m curious on the community’s thoughts.

Why do I have to go through my multitools in order, one by one and when I skip the one I need I have to go through the list again 🥲Please, I beg of you Hello Games, for my dyfunctional dopaminlacked brain that zones out in the two seconds needed to keep the attention to stop on the mode I need, and many other like me out there - give us a wheel to select it 😭

And yes, before you mention it, I am aware tech is removable and you can store and reinstall… but this doesnt solve the ‘issue’. The order is still listed, one after the other.. All these years I only keep one weapon type solely so I don’t have to go through mine > terrain > fishing > neutron canon> blaster > to finally get to the spitter. And that is without the solar and the other living ships upgrade that I do keep stored.

What do you think Travellers, is it redundant? I am aware many will not have this issue cause they don’t have attention span of a goldfish, but it is what it is :(( ty for your time and reading! 🖖🏽

Controller not working always on steam [Question]

I honestly have no clue why this happens and its so annoying. I make sure the controller is turned on before launching, i re apply and make sure im using the right official layout, resetting steam or my pc doesnt work. only sometimes does any of these solutions fix it. please if anyone has any suggestions or a solutions i'd much appreciate it.

Steps to transfering save from PC game pass to Steam [Question]

Hi everyone,

sorry for the question, but all the guides I've found looks to be outdated and don't have answer to my situation.

I used to play only on PC game pass, but I don't play and don't update the game since 2023, but it is still on my pc

Can you please tell me if those steps are correct?

  • Backup in a save folder all the PC gamepass save files
  • Download NomNom-master
  • Install the steam version of the game (and have both pc gamepass and steam installed)
  • Lunch steam version and make a save no matter what I choose to do, then quit
  • Lunch NomNom-master, and it will detect both save directory
  • The new version, for what I undestand, have an automatic save transfer under the "edit" then select "save transfer" which does everything automatically, avoiding having to edit the steam file with the various IDs etc
  • Enjoy the game

My questions are:

  • Should I backup just the whole C:\Users%UserName%\AppData\Local\Packages\HelloGames.NoMansSky\SystemAppData\wgs[random number] folder or there are some other settings in the main game folder?
  • Am I missing something? I have hundreds and hundreds of hours of gameplay and I don't want to lose all my progress.
  • Since I haven't had GamePass for 2 years, it says the game is v. 4.72.0.0 last updated(auto update?) in 07/06/2024. Could it be a problem that my saves are from a version 2 years older than the one I'll be playing when I transfer them?
  • I forgot I had some mods: no lag leaving planet, faded notification and UI notifiction faded(maybe those 2 are the same, don't remember). Will those be another problem?

I was playing with my friend and I had my corvette landed on the ground. I was standing inside my friends base on the ground and summoned my freighter in the sky, which then my corvette was promptly replaced with my friends normal starship. Is there anyway I can get my corvette back I really don't understand this bug.

Exocraft logistics [Question]

Hi everyone!

I'm somewhat a newbie, but i used to play it years ago before all the updates came to be and now i have trouble understanding how exocrafts work. I couldn't find anything that would answear my questions anywhere else.

The main thing that bothers me is... does it cost nothing to create an exocraft? I'm confused about this because just now i built a roamer exocraft placing the geobay on the ground and when i refunded it i got the materials back but the roamer remained.

How does that work exactly? Do i need to build a geobay on every planet i want to use an exocraft on or if I have a freighter exocraft materializer module i can just summon them from wherever in the galaxy when i need one?

As for the exocraft itself. Will I get the same exocraft everytime i summon it or is it dependent on if it exists in the current system? Is geobay just for style or does it have a use in a base for example?

I would be thankful for any answear to my questions

Btw, english isn't my first language so sorry for any mistakes that i might have made.

What planet survey map gives you the chance to find a broken ship? [Question]

So I'm new and been playing with some friends who are way ahead of me but still new enough that they don't quite know either.

But I picked up a crap load of planet maps since I found a stash of navigation data. During one of them I went to a transmission tower iirc and then it gave me a distress signal which I went to and then it was a broken down ship I was able to claim and fix up and sell.

I unfortunately wasn't paying attention when I triggered the map since I bought one of each but which maps give that chance? I think I may make that my way of making money, just fixing up old ships and selling/scrapping them.

My rusty star hopper [Ship Builds]

I like a small ship, don't want too much space. So I built this thing as a kind of minimal corvette. At first I just slapped it together (playing survival mode so took a while to scrape together the parts), but now it's more or less refined. I even tried turning off part limits to build something fancier from scratch, but turns out I got attached to this ship already and my free-build just didn't have the same heart.

There's something special about turning on autopilot and watching the last planet out the back window as it shrinks into the distance.

A Love Letter to No Man’s Sky and Hello Games [Discussion]

I’ve just finished my journey through No Man’s Sky, and I need to say this out loud: this is one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

With the latest update, I decided to dive back in again and finaly I also completed the main storyline — and what a ride it has been. I experienced things I never thought a game could give me. I became the owner of a settlement, built a paradise home on a lush planet, commanded my own freighter fleet, and finally set out across the stars in my very own corvette.

But beyond the mechanics, what struck me most is how No Man’s Sky taught me to enjoy games again — not as chores, not as endless checklists, but as pure adventures. It reminded me that I don’t have to follow a quest marker, I can just follow my curiosity. Sometimes I’d simply stop and take in a breathtaking view, realizing that this universe is as much about wonder as it is about progression.

I know there are still thousands of things left for me to do in this game, but for now, it feels like the right moment to pause till maybe next update — to leave my mark on my little corner of the galaxy and carry these memories forward.

So, to Hello Games: thank you. Thank you for building a universe that feels alive, for constantly nurturing it with love and updates, and for giving me the kind of experience that will stay with me long after I log off.

This is not a goodbye — just a “see you later.”
Because I know one day, I’ll hear the call of the stars again, and I’ll be back.

Corvette Disappearing Modules [Bug]

Just wondering if it’s just me or if anyone else is dealing with this. My first Corvette constantly has modules either disappearing, or moving, then sometimes coming back in order or misaligned when I log out and log back in. Its’ consistent enough that I never know what my Corvette’s stats will be anytime I hop into the ship.

As an addition it isnt just the aesthetic of seeing the modules, it actively affects whether or not my Corvette has better maneuverability or what weapon systems it can use.

Anyone else?

Does anyone think they should replace the 'Holo Terminus' feature? [Discussion]

Hear me out. It's kind of draining and repetitive to constantly travel to a tower with these janky ladders which you move at the speed of smell up. Maybe if we had these small pocket devices which you'd have to place down and it emits a hologram or you hold the device and it shoots the hologram out. It would just makes the game so much easier and probably make more sense. Yes I know that the Holoterminus's are for long distance but there's flying worms so anything is possible. Let me know your take on this.

My corvette got deleted. [Bug]

So i was minding my business on a space station, buying resources for the weekend event mission. When i was checking, i see a message on my screen which said about my corvette was scrapped but it was still there, so i brushed it off as a silly little error. Oh boy was i wrong. While i was flying to a planet, my corvette stopped in the middle of warp. Strange. I then jump out of warp and im met with a black screen. I get out of my ships control and it persists. I then reload the game, and i respawn on the anomaly with no ship. I then try and spawn my corvette back in and it has vanished from my ship storage with no corvette parts from it in my inventory, either. Im so scared now, because ive invested almost 20k nanites into it, and i dont get anything out of it. Gone. Nothing. Nada.

Corvette deleted, replaced with party member starships and Corvettes [Bug]

I've had the same corvette deleted twice in a row and replaced with my party mates ships. Had something to do with me disconnecting and then reconnecting to their game. One was an active Razorcrest corvette, the other was a docked living starship.

Does anyone know the cause of this? Or has anyone experienced something similar?

Not too mad about it because I can always build my corvette again, but if this happened with an irreplaceable collectable then my tone would be a bit different.

Bought a map from cartographer now marker is gone [Question]

Hello. Played on launch, flew into the sun, playing after 26 major updates.

I got a map from the cartographer which led me to a crash site to collect 6 caches. Did that and cool I have 6 items and no info on what it means.

I also got a waypoint to a building I can’t access because I can’t shoot the door and now I don’t have the waypoint to go back to it.

What am I missing? There’s nothing in the log regarding these.

Looking for the planet from my dream [Question]

Tonight I had a dream about No Man's Sky. And in this dream, I saw a very beautiful lush planet, which I now want to find in the real game. This planet has a pink sky, purple bioluminescent grass, and blue water. Oh, and there are also no storms or very high mountains. U.S.S. Stellaris v.2 [Ship Builds Video]

Original Design

Decided to rebuild my main corvette from scratch using some of the building tricks I've learned since v.1.

Technically 106/100 build limit, but that's because I noticed the corvette windows were also in the ship interior build menu. Which let me place them even after hitting 100/100 on ship hull parts.

Crashing multiple times [Bug]

Before the Voyagers update I was able to play hours on end on my Macbook M1 Max without issues. Now I am crashing multiple times nearly every 30-45 minutes.

I found Earth 2.0. Maybe the perfect planet (to me)? [Screenshot]

I only went to maybe 20 systems trying to find a planet to build on. Came across this planet with no sentinals, no storms, bunch of salvage scrap, blue sky, blue oceans, green grass, green trees with brown trunks, tons of bird like creatures that look like birds, no ground creatures that I found yet. There isn't any silly looking plants or animals at all. Rolling hills with mesa's instead or ridiculous mountains. It gives me a Costa Rica vibe. Are planets like this one very rare? I'm trying to make sure calling this one home is right or will there be many others like I described not far away?

Friggn Game [Information]

Not long before the Corvette Update, I went on a quest to get the Dreadnaught.
Read some guides
Watched some videos
Cleaned up my cargo
Stored my tech
Took screenshots
Cleared my scheduled
Made the jumps, did the grind for about 20-30 minutes until I scored an S-class

Then I started the Expedition and focused my energies on the Corvette and the Quest. Did some jumps as part of it, triggered the battle which led to a freighter, a stout little C-class, I figured, why not? It can generate some passive Chromatic Metal, it has a storage container already, no biggie. Still can't accumulate additional start ships though. Kinda bummed, but with my MT from my main save scanning gives me plenty of Units.
A few jumps later, Dreadnaught battle is triggered in the first Pirate System I find as part of the Exped. I figured I would try my hand at trying to capture it with my Corvette. They destroy the civilians, the pirate ship surrenders.

I don't really have a lot of invested in the process, just playing the game.

It turns out to be a natural S-Class.

I have another username on here that’s also my gamer tag and that’s u/izzyd3adyet but I’m posting with this one because this has my YouTube channel in it. I have a YouTube channel called the Donald Munk Network- shortly changing it to Nutwork lol - it started out as a vr and gaming channel hosted by a chipmunk version of Trump. Lately it’s gotten kind of political, as the world has gone kind of crazy- but I’m looking to go back to doing some more gaming content so I was thinking since the im a no mans sky player with like 1600 hours, and I really love the new update I would do a series on all these awesome Corvette builds so if you have a Corvette build that you want to share send it to me… Just providing all the background because the channel is obviously got a political point of view and some of you won’t agree with it because i lean pretty hard left- also the channels not big. Cant board derelict freighter from my new ship [Question]

I'm working through the new campaign, and am at the step where I need to clear a derelict freighter. When I try to go from my ship to the freighter, I cant use my jetpack and fall to a lower part of the outside hull, and cant get to the entrance... how am I supposed to do this?

VR Crashing After 5 Minutes of Gameplay, Here’s Every Solution I’ve Tried, Please Help! [Question]

Okay, I heard somewhere that this subreddit isn’t big on performance/support posts (which i get, this game seems to be extremely difficult to troubleshoot), but this is genuinely my last resort.

WORKING WITH: NVIDIA RTX 4060, 16gb RAM, Quest 2 Headset, Brand new link cable, SteamVR (can grab other specs later when off of work)

About two years ago, I played NMS VR on my dumb little 3060, also 16gb ram system. It didn’t run great, but it ran. Fast forward to now, I’ve upgraded, and the game just… Idk. I was getting 1 fps for a while, ended up fixing that by utilizing DLSS4, I just can’t mess with ANY settings while in-game, otherwise the whole thing collapses in on itself. Fine, whatever. The issue I’m having now is that the game just keeps crashing. Always about 5 minutes or less into playing, and sometimes I swear it only happens when I try to mine something with my mining laser.

I get the classic “NMS Has Encountered an Error and Will Shut Down,” message, and that’s really all I’ve had to go off of. I’ve spent the past few days just troubleshooting for hours. Here’s just about every solution I’ve tried

1.) Changed PC power settings to favor high performance

2.) Changed device manager options that enable Windows to disable devices to save power

3.) enabled DLSS4, disabled DLSS4, used every upscaling option available, and even tried playing without any AA/Upscaling options

4.) Ended any unnecessary background processes

5.) Checked drivers for updates, reinstalled NVIDIA drivers and Intel drivers. Made sure C++ and Dx were up to date.

6.) Tried that niche solution of disabling Windows Audio, launching the game, then re-enabling Windows Audio.

7.) Lowered resolution in SteamVR

8.) Disabled SteamVR Home

9.) tried the -dx11, -dx12, and -d3d11 launch options...

All Planets Should Be Giant Sized... [Suggestion]

...and all planets should be 3-4x further apart.

Now that we have our Corvettes, the autopilot feature is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, there's no real time to enjoy using it, as planets/stations are so close together that as soon as you get around in your ship, you're already at your destination.

Making all planets the size of giants (would be cool to increase gas giants according as well) and pushing their distances out more (maybe even to near-realistic scales) would add so much to the immersion of flying around in the depths of space.

Relying on scanners would be key, and so much could be opened up for random encounters all throughout the system.

What do you guys think? I personally would love to see this.

Crashed during the Corvette Expedition, when booting up the game I was asked whether I wanted my local save or the Steam Cloud one. Steam Cloud was more recent so I picked that, and now my save is rolled back to before when I launched the expedition. [Bug]

I don't remember the circumstances surrounding the crash because I didn't play the game for a few days after that. I didn't even remember I crashed until I noticed I was back on my freighter.

Have we ever had interior modules outside of a major update? [Question]

Asking because corvette interiors seem basic just now.

No complaints (ever!) on my free new features, I love the new ships, but the interiors are all pretty similar given the lack of parts.

Just wondering how likely we are to see batches included with minor updates, based on what's happened in the past - eg building and freighter interior modules.

"Nobody knows" / "Wait and see" replies need not apply. I understand that, I'm asking for informed guesses.

Question for all the wild design corvette builders [Discussion]

So that me start off by saying the building skills of everyone are freaking amazing and I'm just in awe of some of these designs both "real" ships and off the wall things like Clippy or the Space Toilet.

The question i have though, is qhen these things are built, do you just throw the stats out the window? I spent around 2.5 hours last night jist trying to build a good stat loaded corvette without any design in mind and it was mind boggling how random pieces or even the specific placement of core components changed the stat board completely. I'm all for the wild designs and would love to fly around in a Delorean, SR71, or even the Heart of Gold (haven't looked to see if that's been made yet), but I want my stats to be high so the ship flys far, turns on a dime, shields up like a Roman phalanx, and takes the lunch money back from a playground bully in a fight.

Thoughts? Do wild custom builds lose out on specs or can you have it all?

PSA How to easily get scrap [Information]

If you fly your Corvette real close to the planet surface and slow enough, you can get out of the seat and scan for scrap, then get back in and fly to it and shoot at it to collect then keep flying to the next spot. This saved me a ton of time.

Question/PSA about bugs on PS4 [Question]

So, I have a big crash issue related to Atlantid settlements and Corvettes clashing I believe. As a near day 1 player I have many saves, my main save being almost 800 hrs and when the big settlement update came i managed to snag 2 settlements besides the first. Fast forward, we’re at Corvette and I lose hours farming and building one ship, then build another one during the expedition that I then copied over to my main save. Fast forward a small time later, my settlements are doing better so I want to cap out my limit with one last atlantid settlement. I grab my coord chart from the atlantid terminal, fly out to space and use it. Fly into the atmosphere and I get a crash. No biggie right? Just close and relaunch if needed, restart the console, the works. Every single time I reloaded, the game would load me in on the edge of the atmosphere directly above where the settlement is located which is also immediately met with a crash. Sometimes the game even crashes during the initial star map loading screen before I load in fully. My question is, can I do anything to un-softlock my main save file? If not then this serves as a PSA to my other old hardware Travelers out there, be careful spawning new settlements and visiting with your corvette!! Any help is appreciated! :)

Lost my S Class Ship after completing The Purge. How do I get it back? [Question]

So I completed the purge mission where you reset and they teleport you on a planet and all you equipment needs repaired including your ship that you were using at the time. Well, I didn't think about it and I switched to a different ship and now I can't summon my S class ship that is critically damaged somewhere on a planet.

I tried accessing it in my freighter and also the Anomaly but no luck. It just tells me that it's critically damaged.

Is there anyway to find my ship? I'm upset I lost it. It was an exotic.

Hot take: Forget combat [Suggestion]

Instead of investing resources into a combat centric gameplay loop— something I really don’t think this game is built for nor structured around, I’d rather see a hyper focus on the wildlife and its behaviors. The game is about exploring these worlds, their environments, both the flora and fauna. I would encourage seeing wildlife systems that make sense where these organisms live. Their nests/dwellings, traveling in herds/packs, stalking in the grasses— I think if you just imagine a safari, you can see the interest in making a living, breathing world. I think if World felt like you’re living in a nature documentary, it would really give players a new and unique experience. Let me see birds fly out of trees when I break em down. Or animals freak out when I turn a light on in their cave.

Anyway, this has been probably been suggested a million times— and I don’t know anything about actually making or designing games; but it seems to me that is way more accessible than turning this game into combat scenarios. The game is about survival and exploration, right? Shouldn’t the fauna also be exercising the same theme of survival?

Having issues loading expedition [Question]

Was wondering if anybody else is having any issues with this? Im on Xbox series x. One of my saves is for the expedition but when I load it up I crash before I can even load. I tried 5 times before I eventually attempted to load a different save which had no issue at all and successfully loaded. The expedition file crashes every time. Im hoping after the expedition I'll be able to load it back up. Should I just wait for an update? I really want to finish the expedition but dont want to ruin another save as I dont know if I can even recover this one.

Grey Clouds in No Mans Sky… [Discussion]

Hi, I’m Tokynz….and today I bury my cousin Chez.

Im not much for words but I had to get this off my chest. I’m headed off to the funeral now to say goodbye but I couldn’t help but play this game and just sit down to think on my family.

(Of course while I wait for them to get ready to head out so we can all go at once.)

I’m burden with the heavy woes of death and sadness on my heart. It hurts. I don’t really know what I’m saying at this point, maybe I’m yapping idk.

I just need a friend to sit with me for a while until I get back in a few hours. I’ll let the game just run and hopefully I find someone to just sit with….and listen to the universe.

I Finally Found A Paradise Giant At The Center Of Euclid [Screenshot]

I've been searching Purple systems in Euclid for months and finally found my first Paradise Giant! It happens to be right near the center of the Euclid galaxy so I thought it would be fitting to share the coordinates so others could come built here. The planet is in an uncharted system and features some nice flat islands and huge mountains which are perfect for building. Slavageable Scrap can be found on the planet itself and one of the moons has Ancient Bones (it's also the smallest moon I've found so far).

Next update ? [Suggestion]

The corvette update was a big change but ultimately came up with a lot of bugs , mostly from using the anomaly. You got 4 pads for corvette’s and there can be a possibility that 12 out of the 16 players got a corvette which causes an overlap issue,… can’t go to peoples ships or my own with out glitching out .. but because of this I think the next update should be a overhaul on the multiplayer system***. *Create more space the anomaly / expansion

*Create a clan system/ empire creation ( letting the community to really come together)

Need a bit of help [Bug]

Random icons in menus can get corrupted while i'm playing for some reason, it even becomes worse after a longer period to the point of every icon in a menu just becoming a completely different icon. I'm on PS5 and Idk if it's the GPU dying or what since every other games works normally and textures don't get corrupted on there neither

Talk to Polo but nothing happens [Question]

So my buddy encountered a bug where he's got a quest "Space anomaly" and "Investigate space anomaly" and neither of them progresses. He has a marker above Polo, telling him to talk to Polo, but he can't really interact with him, it's just the "leave" option and the quest doesn't continue. I can't find any useful information about this specific issue, maybe we're missing something?

There's yet no way to create such great angle (give us sided ramps, Sean! (pretty please χD)), so the front isn't that accurate. At least I managed to deform it neatly, I think...

Used a few Half-Step glitches in the process, which must be perfomable on any platform (and must stay that way, untill half-steps are implimented officially (somehow, maybe just leave it as it is)), and one unusual attachment point of questionable intentionality (those yellow Small Vents on the front half). Nothing clips into interior, insides are save and usable 👍

How to Improve Regular Normal Ships in the Dawn of the Corvette (suggestions) [Suggestion]

The Voyager update with the introduction of the Corvette has really changed the game. I especially noted how the corvette's mission radar changes things. The spotlight is currently off the normal "regular" one-seat ships.

One thing that becomes immediately apparent when building a Corvette is how much easier it seems to be. Assembling a regular ship is a multi-step process that feels a bit cumbersome in contrast.

With that, I'd like to make some suggestions to keep things competitive between the two distinct ship classes:

Recoloring one of your regular ships should be an option at all times. You shouldn't have to build one from scratch in order to get the colors you want. For that matter, the freighter color nanite grind needs to go too. Corvettes are ridiculously easy to recolor and decorate in comparison.

MORE SHIP PARTS! When ship building initially dropped, many of us expected more parts to eventually drop. We eventually got the expedition reward Iron Vulture parts and then..... nothing.... else......

Let us Frankenstein ship parts between different classes. Hauler wings on a fighter chassis? Why not?

Scrapping a regular ship should yield more than one ship part. Let us pick the priority, then give us a bonus(or at least a chance at bonus based on class) of an additional ship part, ie: C class only ever gives you 1, but anything higher chance of 2, and S class always 2, sometimes all 3.

Regular ship parts should be added to all loot pools, just like the corvette parts have been.

Regular ship parts should be craftable using the "Starship subcomponent" pieces we get from scrapping, making them useful for something other than just another thing to sell.

Regular ship parts really need to be something that's more readily available other than going through the whole buying/restoring and then scrapping...

Future lore content in updates should focus on the 3 species for a while (GAME SPOILERS) [Discussion]

In most if not all the updates with lore, it's all been focused almost entirely focused on the weird hidden stuff of the universe. (atlas, Atlantid, Travellers, Autophage, rah rah rah)

I, personally, have grown kind of bored of it, and would be much more interested in hearing about things to do with the Gek/Vy'keen/Korvax.

Like at the end of the exocraft technician's quest, I wanna see the result of vy'keen learning Hirk was a sham.

Or a more detailed look at how the convergence works, and what they think of divergent entities.

Or learning more about how Gek feel about their past history, and about the seldom ever mentioned Last Spawn.

I'd love to learn about how industry works in space too, who's building all the freighters, starships, and space stations, and where? Where are they getting all the resources from to build them? From where do the governments operate? Who's making all the ads you see in some stations?

All this stuff would be super interesting in my opinion, but it's severely lacking compared to other areas of the game's lore.

Corvette parts not stacking up still? [Bug]

Hi all, tried googling but could not find the answer. All info seems to be from before the update 6.004

I still can’t stack up parts for my corvette. Be it in my inventory or Corvette cache. Am I doing something wrong? My Corvette cache is filling up quickly with the stacks of 1 or 2 of the same kind of parts!

Am I missing something? I’m on PS5 and currently on 6.004 version!

Yeah… so my entire corvette (after hours of part farming) randomly transformed into a look-alike of the starter ship :/ At least the items and upgrades stayed in the inventory, and it even kept the name, I guess. [Bug]

I need some help with two milestones for Corvette expedition [Question]

So I'm down to the last couple milestones, but I'm having trouble with two specifically.

  1. Star diving. How do I fall for 60 seconds? I tried dropping into the orbit of a planet, but I reached the ground before 60 seconds had passed.

  2. Reclaimed Weaponry. Is there an easier way to find a dissonant camp? The log says kill sentinels, but they don't drop the echo locator to find the camp. Also my weapons are shit, so I don't last long against them. Google says destroy dissonant crystals, but I can't find any on the planet.

I appreciate any help or advice!

Chapter 1: The Warp breaks

Hyperspace spat him out hard. One second Rince Calder’s starship was riding a blue-white corridor of infinity, the next it lurched into normal space like a drunk who’d missed the last step of a staircase. Panels flickered, the cabin shook, and Rince got a noseful of ozone and burnt lubricant.

“Perfect,” he muttered, gripping the controls. “If landing counts as still being alive.”

The system glowed ahead, three planets circling a yellow star. The nav console chirped its summary: Korvax-dominated, station aligned to their guilds, moderate traffic. Exactly what he wanted. The Korvax weren’t friendly, but they were predictable—predictable enough to buy a hold’s worth of copper ore at a mark-up. He’d scraped it together in the last system, and if the Atlas wasn’t playing dice with him, he’d walk away with enough units to finally afford a proper upgrade.

The space station itself filled his viewport: a black, faceted cylinder spinning slowly, lights tracing along its edges. It looked less like a hub of galactic civilization and more like a mausoleum that charged docking fees. Still, it was his only option.

Rince throttled up into impuls. The ship surged forward with all the grace of a sled dog that had just spotted a steak. The station mouth yawned open, a hexagonal entrance lit with cold neon strips. He came in too fast, of course. He always did....

Expedition 19 Doesn't Allow Free Crafting? [Question]

Hello all! I'm brand new to this game, and played about 6 hours of normal, but I've been SO drawn to the game with the new corvette expedition where you can make your own ship!!

I started an expedition, and decided I would go into Creative mode. But that doesn't seem to be possible? Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Free Crafting for example is not an option I can select when I start the Expedition.

Did they buff pets? [Question]

I found this fella running around, and she is an absolute unit. Watched in awe as (so long as they are not flying) obliterate sentinel troops. Mighty gal even beat a walkers shields down.

My question is whether or not pets are any good in combat for higher end battles, if i hatch more could I reasonably beat bosses with them?

When the update dropped, I turned crafting costs to "free" and started messing around with corvette builds on my main save file. After completing the expedition, I now want to start over and actually build a corvette from scratch with gathered parts. How can I delete the 3 or 4 Corvettes I have currently?

Salvaged Glass Drop Chance & Associated Tools [Information]

The pure data for those who don't care for the rest:

Calculated and true percent chances of each individual item

Calculated and true percent chances of different item categories

Average profits of both currencies per salvaged glass

In wondering what the drop chances were for salvaged glass, I found a disappointing lack of research on the topic. The limit of what I could idly find was the assortment of salvaged glass drops. The drop chances are out there, though certainly hard to find. Anyway, I decided to compile my own data on the subject in a spreadsheet. All images shown here are based off of 1800 salvaged glass. For those interested, there is also an included binomial distribution calculator for the number of salvaged glass to near guarantee some number of a specific item. Hopefully someone else may find it useful. I am not an expert in any of this in any way, in case there are any errors. Though I did try my best.

Tips on smoothing the front of my corvette? [Ship Builds]

I'm pretty happy overall with how this looks, but I can't figure out how to lose the "stepped" nature of the front profile without losing the overall "V" shape.

Yes, there are corner wedges, but none of them have a square back end, so they don't cover the ends of the hab units properly.

From what I've seen on some screenshots, there may be a way to glitch in additional wedges so I can have both? But I haven't figured out a way to do that yet.

Need Help with wings [Ship Builds]

Good afternoon!

Im seeking help for a very optimistic idea that I randomly got for a corvette design but im not very creative and im struggling with the wings.

Im trying to make essentially a SU 47 BERKUT. As I find the reverse swept wings really unique but im struggling to produces that somewhat smooth angle. Ive seen many of the F22 builds but im really struggling to identify the parts they've used. I appreciate any help you guys can provide.

How to turn the corvette when calling? [Question]

Hello,

i saw in a couple of videos that their corvette was turning their back to them when the corvette has been called from a planet.

For me the corvette always lands with the cockpit pointing towards me and i cant get it to turn so that the thrusters point towards me.

I tried checking the comments fo these videos, but nobody mentions that, so i am wondering if that is just common knowledge and i am missing something simple?

How to transfer ship and items to main save? [Question]

I recently completed the expedition and went to my main save to claim the rewards, I got them from the quicksilver synthesis companion on board the anomaly but didn't see an option to claim my ship money, items etc.

I went to the expedition terminal and it's just telling me that I can start a new expedition? Did I mess up by finishing the expedition or is there something I'm missing?

I'm done with corvettes... [Bug]

Corvettes are awesome.. don't get me wrong. Being able to walk around in my own ship has been the main thing I wanted in the game for a looong time now. That being said, I'm done using them. I have lost my entire corvette not once, but twice now due to bugs.. and man there are SO many bugs. We've all seen them.

The first time I lost my ship was when I reached the galactic core of Euclid. I took it to the next galaxy (first time doing this) and woke up on a planet with all of my stuff broken and my ship no where to be found. In hindsight, I now know I should have fixed my visor, found my ship, fixed it then set off. But I figured why do all that when I could just call in a different ship, fly up to my freighter where I have everything to fix everything, then return to the planet, find my ship and then fix that as well. I couldn't find it so I resummoned my freighter in another system so it would TP my corvette to my freighter... and it did. I saw it docked in the parking spot but it would disappear the moment I would actually land inside my freighter. I tried different things to get it back but eventually had to accept that it was gone.

The second time I lost my ship (which just happened) was because of something even more dumb... I took a teleporter to one of the the highlighted community bases from the space anomaly and summoned my ship. The base must've been massive because nothing was loading in. The base wasn't, my ship wasn't.. only other players ships (for some reason). I waited a long time and eventually got tired of waiting so long so I just used the quick menu to return to the space anomaly. I went to go back to my ship but... it was still invisible. I decided to get off for the day because I was getting tired. Fast forward to today and booting up the game again and its still invisible. I tried reloading it by switching to another ship then back to it.. didn't work. In the...

Only two and half habs, bottom is a full thunderbird plus a thunderbird walkway and the top is one full thunderbird. Three engine with one huge center thruster for the tackle and grapple. Changing the silhouette of those blocks they gave us is always tough but I am very happy with the end product.

Corvette replaced my Wraith ship, now missing from ship inventory. [Question]

Built my Corvette but didn't realize collecting the Corvette after completing the first creation replaces your ship if you already have 3 ships in inventory. So it replaced my wraith ship. Any way to reclaim the Wraith ship? Corvette ships should have their own inventory or at least there should be a warning that my inventory was full and that I'm about to lose my ship.

What are Units?? I know they are a currency but what do they represent? Irl most currencies are representing gold. But what do the Units in no man’s sky represent when gold can be found along side platinum, silver, and cobalt? No Mans Sky noob and big dum dum has a question. [Question]

Played the game for a while but couldn't get really into it, so I stopped, now Im back to try out the Corvette update and yeah... I got into it. The problem was that I saw online that you could transfer expedition ships and items to your main save. So I foolishly went to the main menu and made an Expedition save. I went through the entire expedition and just completed it, so it turned to a normal save. I realize now that I did not have to start it from the menu, but instead launch it from my main save.

So I realise that it's too late, and I can't transfer my stuff to my old save. So my question is more of a time management one. I have about the same playtime for my expedition and old save, a few hours more on the old one.

On my expedition, I have much better technology and multitools, the corvette, of course, a shizton of more units, a better freighter (A-class massive pirate one, better upgraded and base too)

On my old save, I'm not nearly as well off technology or economy-wise. Still rocking C-class everything, but I got a settlement and have bases established on several systems. Most importantly though, I'm allot further along on the missions, completed the whole artimes storyline, and found a few atlas stations. My current objectives there is to locate a gex cartogropher. And share korvax revalations with the anomaly guys.

So my TLDR end-of-the-day question is... Would it be faster to redo the main missions with all my expedition stuff, or to just speedrun the expedition on my main save. I remember not really enjoying the Artimes missions, which I think is why I dropped the game. But I like all the stuff I acquired during my expedition journey.

I also just came across my first freighter I claimed and have a little half-ass wooden box base setup on a shitty planet just to be able to refine and tp as I please. My dream for corvettes is to have 2 and 3 story, double and triple-wide habs + exterior accessories to match [Suggestion]

Picture is the interior of a super destroyer from Helldivers 2, not because I want to recreate it necessarily, but because I feel like it’s a great representation of what I want to walk into when I jump onto my mobile-base.

Having a single great hall with normal hubs branching off the sides for my plants/refiners/cargoeooms/berthing/ and a stateroom at the top? Dream come true.

Are most mission bugged or am I and my friend just too dumb? [Question]

Me and my friend have been playing this game for about 3 days and we both experience the same problem with missions/quests, we both take/accept them from either the Anomaly Nexus mission board or from one of our Corvettes mission board, and it feels like atleast 50% of the missions can't be done/completed.

For example: We accepted a fishing mission (Catch 24 uncommon fish in total) we caught 24 fish and in the lower right corner it said 24/24 caught, but we could not turn it in anywhere.

Same with some other missions. Is there really still so much problems with the missions or are we just dumb?

Sudden terrible performance, RTX 4070 Super [Bug]

The game is running normally on ultra settings like 70 FPS (planet). Then all the sudden the window with game alt-tabs to desktop for no reason (I didn't press alt-tab). When I click to the game icon again to expand the window it starts runnung in 20 or 5 FPS, which is unplayable.
Config: Steam, Win 11, I5-12600KF, 32 RAM, 4070 Super, 3440x1440. All settings are on ultra, DLAA is enabled, FG is disabled.

Black screen when i sky dived in expedition? [Bug]

Ive encountered a bug, have logged it on the zendesk but thought id see if anyone else has had it? See screenshot

Was doing the skydiving task on the expedition and as i was diving it suddenly went black. Ive tried restore point which didnt work, i have even warped to another system to see if it would sort it out and no luck. Gone back to restore point and left it for now

“When a Star Destroyer appears in orbit, the war is already over.” [Ship Build Contest]

This one took quite a while. Had to restart for one reason or another 3 or 4 times, I don’t even want to begin to work out exactly how many hours this took. It’s definitely far from perfect, but given the limitations of the corvette builder on console, I’d say I’m more than pleased with the end result. It’s got the main silhouette down almost to a T if you ask me, and I’m hopin’ y’all enjoy her as much as I do!

PS5 working overtime for this game now…plus stranger glitches than ever before. [Question]

I recently bought my ps5 about 4 months ago. I have cleaned it regularly. Before the recent updates and patches the game ran as it usually does with the usual bugs but ever since these updates my system is clearly working harder to run this game, I can hear the PS5 working hard to run it.

It doesn’t happen with any other games. Just NMS.

The glitches are really wild now too. I was sitting in my corvette at the anomaly and somehow I ended up in someone else’s corvette and went for a ride.

The anomaly is glitchy AF in general.

Anybody else experiencing these issues?

So i started nms yesterday and holy I can't stop playing. Is it just me or is this the perfect game? Anomaly causing massive FPS drops, restart needed (PC) [Bug]

I've returned to the game to enjoy the new update, but i've had this happen twice now. When I go to visit the traders at the anomaly, the FPS will fall through the floor (5-15) and there's no way to fix until restarting the game.

What's weird is, hitting Escape to the menus makes it fine the same for trading UI menus; you can even see my character in full motion through the UI.

I'm on a 5080, 2x Framegen, DLAA, Borderless. Anyone else had this? Had a quick google around and no such luck yet.

The Tantive IV-100 Part Daily Driver [Ship Build Contest]

The Tantive IV as first seen in Episode 4. This is a no glitch build, functional 100 part corvette that is my daily driver now. the round head was by far the hardest part to figure out but i think the illusion is there. Wanted to light up the entire rear with thrusters as seen in the movie but NMS seems to have a limit on only having 10 thrusters actually "fire" and have a trail on them so the rear would never light up all the way and i settled for what you see on the rear now.

Void egg [Question]

Im doing the void egg mission and everywhere I look it says I need to go to the Euclid system but I’ve never been there. Atlas path question [Question]

Hello, I’m sure this has been answered somewhere, but I can’t find it. I was on my way to the center of the galaxy to reset the atlas. I made it to the center, it showed me a cinema of all of the galaxies. Then I respawned somewhere randomly and I had to fix all of technology on my suit, ship and multitool. Then went back to space and my atlas path was reset to 1/16 and I still have my main atlas missions as not completed. Is this supposed to happen? Thanks for any input.

Oddly predictable bug/crash [Discussion]

I've got a small base in a system, and a save beacon planted on another planet in the system as a point of reference for an automated mining unit.

Lately, every time I begin final approach to this planet, the game hangs. Restart the game, I'm right there in the same spot and can complete approach just fine.

I can't see it being anything I've done - all I have is a miner and a beacon there. Any thoughts?

Stuck on Dissonance [Question]

I just cannot get a dissonance interface to even appear. I don't seem to have ever completed the questline, but I also can't figure how to start it. I have a sentinel interceptor, so I have been to a dissonant world at least. It's not in my log or completed quests. Can anyone offer help?

An antenna block the exit of my corvette [Bug]

Hey everyone, I really need your help!

So, while out on an expedition I modified my corvette, and without realizing it, one of the antennas that was originally on the roof somehow flipped 180° and ended up inside the ship.

I managed to get back inside my corvette, but now I can’t get out anymore. I tried destroying the antenna through the build menu while inside, but I get the message saying it’s an essential element and can’t be destroyed mid-flight.

Fingers crossed that someone out there has the magic fix for this problem. Thanks in advance, fellow explorers!

I built a hot rod Corvette based off a visual bug that is created by the planters in an ambassador habitat. The planters have this venting gas thing going on, And I used it to create an or exhaust like effect. Just under the hood is six large ambassador habitats stacked full of planters growing my medicinal herbs. Her name is “Paladin”.

Confused about Expeditions [Question]

I started the expedition by joining a friend who was already doing it. This created a new save for the expedition. I have now completed it. The game told me I could accept the reward on my main save, but when I go to my main save, it says I have yet to start the expedition.

I was also told by the aforementioned friend that I'd be able to take some items from the expedition back to my main save, but that seems not to be the case either. Is there any way to remedy this?

(New Player) What's the point of having more than 5 frigates? [Question]

Besides cosmetics what's the point? It's not like you can sell/salvage them after they get to S Class.

I'm very new (32 hours) and I have 9 frigates (3 combat, 2 expo, 2 trade, 2 support).

I can only send 5 frigates and have 1 expedition running at a time, which leaves the 4 just sitting around.

What's your reasoning on keeping 5+ frigates (or even the max limit)?

Today I was on the weekly mission where you have to build a personal base on a planet. A player approached me and asked about polyfibre because they didn’t have any and couldn’t progress with the mission. I gathered some of my solar bulbs from my corvette and crafted the polyfibre for them. Just wanted to share this little moment with you all.

"Join group," Nexus, & multiplayer questions [Question]

A few questions:

. 1. At the anomaly, someone will invite me to "join their group." What does this do? What is the difference in game behaviour if I am in a group with someone or not in a group with them?

. 2. I thought maybe groups were for nexus missions, but the internet tells me that if multiple people sign up for the same nexus mission, it automatically puts them in a group together. Is that true?

. 3. I had a stranger join a Nexus mission that I initialized. We both clicked ready and the mission started. I thought that was a done deal, so I hopped in my ship and headed out. But I never saw them again. It was the same as if I was on the mission alone. Why?

. 4. If playing with a friend who doesn't have all the portal glyphs, and I portal somewhere, can they join my location somehow, or do they have to rejoin my game to get to me?

. 5. If you're in game, is there any way to know that a friend starts playing without going out to the "join friends" menu?

When building a “Corvette”, try to optimize your Basic and SuperCharged slot layout [Discussion]

You can create multiple “randomized” ship layouts when building regardless of system economic/conflict ratings or faction control of space stations.

In the two examples shown, note the different amount of unlocked slots (23 vs 28) as well as potential to unlock connected SC slots.

Falling through my corvette ship [Question]

Hi guys basically as the title says, I’ve come back to the game after about a year and abit and discovered lots of new stuff. And built myself a new ship, now for some reason every time I enter my ship whilst it’s docked at my freighter. I fall straight through it, and it loses all collision. If anyone has had the same issue and knows a solution would be much appreciated.

New PS5 VR player – should I finish the tutorial before starting Expedition Corvette? [Question]

Hi, I’m a new No Man’s Sky player on PS5 VR. I bought the game when I heard about the Corvette update. When I started playing, I saw the “Expedition Corvette” mode, but I found out it doesn’t have a tutorial. Because of that, I started with the normal mode to go through the tutorial.

I haven’t finished it yet—I’m currently at the stage of building the teleporter. Would it be a good idea to finish the tutorial first and then restart in Expedition Corvette mode? Or should I stay on normal mode and build corvette here?

Corvettes doing too much damage? Or are my combat difficulty settings reset? [Question]

For context, my main save is difficulty-locked with everything set to as hard as possible without permadeath active. I made my corvette, sorted the tech slots appropriately, installed everything but the buildable photon cannons (priorities), and it's C tier. Two supercharges and I connected them both with a line of phase beam stuff, not even a square. I hadn't been willing to risk losing a fight in what I presumed to be wimpy ship, but I encountered a pirate dreadnaught and decided I'd park her inside its shields and try out the superman method in just my exosuit. Glitches happened, I played around, ended up fighting and using my phase beam to top off my shields.

The w h o l e s h i e l d popped instantly. Then I tagged it again (mind you, with the phase beam) and it took out half the ship's hull points. once more and it was another pirate transponder in my inventory.

That's... not normal right? Is it possible my locked settings got bumped down a few levels of difficulty after the expedition? My item stack limit is still the same, seems like costs of fuel and building are the same... Why the death beam?

Why does the description of a planet change? [Question]

When I first scanned it before landing, it said it was a paradise, no sentinels etc. In my Discoveries, it says it's temperate and has aggressive sentinels. I hadn't noticed anything before my friend joined and pointed it out when he scanned it as he was coming in to land for the first time and that made me check my Discoveries. I hadn't even noticed any sentinels before. He picked up a gravitino ball and I was quickly informed of their presence 😅 Is this just a bug?

Corvette stuck during pulse-flight, save crashes on load. Am I effed? [Bug]

I was flying my corvette in 1st person within a community system when I activated the pulse drive. After a few seconds the cockpit interior vanished and I noticed that the ship wasn't moving even though it continued to play the sound.

I tried to get out of pulsing but pressing the buttons only played the sounds. I also couldn't open the galaxy map (to jump somewhere else) because I was technically still flying with the pulse drive. The only thing I could do was to get up from seat and try if I could just throw myself out the ramp but of course the prompt to open it didn't even show up.

Unfortunately getting up from pilot seat still saved the game so when I tried to reload the screen was initially white while I could hear the ambient ship interior sound play aaaaaaand the game crashed.

I never made backups and the main menu only allows to load the most recent file (afaik) which is now corrupted because it apparently saved the game in this weird limbo state.

I remember that I made a manual save though, its probably two weeks old but that would still be better than to lose 7 years of progress. Problem is ofc that those can only be accessed from within the savegame itself.

Is it possible to simply throw out the autosave from the folder and force the game to load the manual save? I also got steams cloud activated so I should remove the files there as well right?

Thats it really, with all the new ships and building we need a way to be able to admire your work without going into the settings.

Simply adding it to the quick menu would be perfect, Its been way too long!

Got stuck in ship [Bug]

I'm not sure how to get myself out of this situation; I called my Corvette and the cockpit landed slightly submerged in water. I tried to pilot the craft but the game has me stuck in a limbo between swimming and walking. I tried exhausting my life support to reset but I'm in my Corvette and it won't deplete. It won't let me pilot the craft or escape the water so I'm stuck on the cockpit Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Well. I am adoring the Corvettes so far and I really want to make one that can be a ship I use 24/7. Yet I always find they lack firepower and Manouverability imo even with heavy uogrades and such.

How do I get back to a planet I once visited? [Question]

I just started playing this game about a week ago and haven’t been able to figure out how to get back to this planet that I once visited. I really wish I put down a teleporter/base to easily return to it. I have tried retracing my steps and everything… lol. It has an abundance of valuable resources and I would really like to make it my main base/home.

Anyone know how to visit previous visited planets? I tried selecting waypoint on my discoveries but I don’t think it’s doing anything or even giving me a marker?

Questions about the Unit Markets. [Question]

How connected are the markets? Are they localized and contained to a single star system, or are they interconnected and affect each other?

If I were to sell off a lot of a resources or items at a terminal in one system, would that affect the market in another system? Would it improve the economy of the system if I sold a massive amount of high demand items, like mineral packs in a mining system?

And my big question… do my actions in the market affect other players outside of the anomaly and hosted sessions?

I’m pretty sure that the markets that use Nanites and Quicksilver aren’t affected by player actions.

Issues with settlement debt. [Question]

I started a new playthrough after the voyagers update came out, and my first settlement seems to be stuck in an endless debt crisis. Everything I do with it seems to raise the maintenance cost at the same rate or greater than the productivity generated. For example, I just built a manufacturing plant, and my productivity went from 326,000/day to 351,000/day, but my maintenance went from 495,000/day to 541,000/day, leaving me with a net loss of -21,000/day. When building, they tell you how much they will add to the maintenance, but they don't tell you how much they will generate. At this point I would've been better off denying almost every building opportunity I have been given, and I am not sure what to do. I have had similar situations with visitors, where it'll tell me that they will "increase productivity" but then they cost more than the amount of productivity they generate.

VR: What happened to my MultiTool? [Question]

For some reason, the control panel for my MT. (VR) has moved way over to the left of my right arm. Why did it do this? I looked through all the settings, I don't see anything that would do this.

I'm getting used to it, but I'd really rather have it above my wrist like it used to be. The left panel is still in the right place.

How to set up PS4 pad only for VR? [Question]

Ok so, i tried many times to set up a ps4 controller ONLY for the VR with a metaquest. I spent so many hours trying and nothing came of It. All i could do is using both the metaquest controllers for talking to nps and inventory management and ps4 controller for flying and moving around (flying would be near impossible otherwise). Tried the remapping controls option on steam but It keeps having the metaquest controllers back as main, unprompted. Could It be that i could use a Xbox controller and use It in place of the regular controllers since Meta Quest Link apparently has that option? Pretty sure i've seen It pop up once. But even so will NMS VR accept that as the main controller?

Please help a fellow traveller out :(

I’ve spent over 500 hours in No Man’s Sky. I’ve built fleets, colonies, bases, and collected rare ships. I love this game. But after all that time, I see the same issue many others feel: Title: What if “Overseer” actually meant something in No Man’s Sky? A vision to make the game feel alive.

Colonies: NPCs walk in circles, problems resolve on timers, and Overseer is just a title. What if we could hold councils, fix toxic environments, and actually lead our people? Imagine colonies evolving based on our decisions, not just RNG.

Ships: Why stop at prefab modules? Let us swap cockpits, wings, engines, even interiors. Imagine building a Corvette that truly feels like your design.

Fleets: Instead of passive missions, let them be living armadas. Officers with loyalty, morale, even mutiny risk. Real battles we can warp into and command.

Exploration: Planets that evolve. Biomes that change over time. Ship scanners that can find wrecks, anomalies, and hidden mysteries.

This isn’t about adding another seasonal event. It’s about giving agency. Giving players the power to shape the universe instead of just passing through it.

Hello Games has already proven they can do the impossible. The next leap isn’t just “more planets” — it’s giving players the power to truly lead, create, and change the galaxy.

If they added this kind of depth? Players wouldn’t just come back for events. They’d stay. Permanently.

I started playing maybe 4 major updates ago and took a long break. Came back and WTF is going on HAHHAHA so many new and fun things going on. (and also the stuff from my last expedition were all gone because I never finished.)

That being said, I hopped on just to try and remember the controls and everything, only to find my multiplayer was on accidentally.

I found out recently that there was an expedition last year that gave the Normandy from Mass Effect as a potential ship as a reward for completing an expedition. Unfortunately I wasn't playing when that was around.

Nexus weekend mission [Question]

Couldn't find any way to get star bramble in the system the nexus mission is in, so I decided to warp to a nearby system and was able to get it. Problem now is I can't get back as I don't have the ability to travel to red stars and I can't warp back without giving up the mission. Am I screwed?

A Grave Mistake [Bug]

I was doing Expedition 19, when I beamed down on a planet to retrieve a particularly difficult to get buried scrap, set at an angle that wouldn’t get hit from high altitude. Once I was on the surface I got pinned down by one of those annoying and aggressive worms. The beast was relentless, and with my limited Expedition gear and weaker shields, I was in a bad spot. I made a desperate dash for the ship, a mad scramble to the safety of the teleporter. I was so close, but a final, brutal hit sent me stumbling. I got hit and died ON THE WAY to the ship. While being inside the teleport beam. Ouch!

When I respawned and returned to the location, I was met with a surprising sight: my grave was floating in mid-air. Part of me just wanted to take a picture, it was a strangely beautiful and poetic image, but the other part was determined to get my stuff back. I managed to manoeuvre well enough to get close to it, but it was still not within reach, so I manoeuvred a bit more in order to have the grave inside the ship, but the game clearly wasn’t ready for this and my grave was there just in appearance. I was totally unable to recover my stuff. I even tried to put the teleport section directly above the grave, thinking maybe the game still registered it as being on the ground. I beamed down, full of hope, but found nothing.

In the end it’s not a disaster. I didn’t lose my main save stuff, just something that will make the Expedition a bit longer. But I love the first pic :)

Starborn Phoenix 2025 [Question]

I want to obtain the Phoenix ship/ the other pre order ships, when I use the save editor to check the boxes and enter the game offline nothing appears and when I quit and go back into the save editor the boxes go back to being unchecked. Is there something else in the files that needs to be added or something changed to true to allow me to claim the ships.

My favourite asymmetrical Corvette yet. Complete with named crew, Dejarik (holo chess), tons of clutter, custom bytebeat, and an arcade cabinet! [Ship Build Contest]

She's called "Fumi, Fierce Guardian of Snug." All of the habitation is on the right side of the ship, the left side is for power and the supercharged infra-knife turrets. The center of the ship, supported by durable carbotitanium structures, is the main engine construction, propelling the ship to absolutely crazy speeds.

I tried to make it asymmetrical, cobbled together, but coherent. I didn't want it to look sleak, streamlined, or flashy. It's supposed to look like an absolute unit.

My inspirations were from the Doppleganger plane from Crimson Skies (asymmetrical with the huge cannon on one side, cockpit on the other) and Sebulba's podracer from Star Wars Episode 1.

This ship was made in the Corvette build menu, not requiring exploits to turn a base into a ship. The only "glitch building" technique used was for the interior to resize things like the aquarium using the agacency glitch.

Multiplayer idea: Heist stile Mission [Discussion]

Because Corvettes got a multiplayer aspect I thought maybe heist missions would be nice, like hear me out (it's mostly stolen from GTA 5 online anyway )

Two to four person start at system X and have to get two items but item one is on system Y and the other in system Z so your basically forced to split up. Each team get it from either a mid difficult fight or a Lager exploration of a system of planet. Regroup at the anomaly.

Part two involves flying towards a planet while the other ones try to solve a puzzel to get better coordinates. Get part regroup at the anomaly

Part three is a heavier battle or a big exploration

Reward could be a good chunk of money, nanits or a portal to a system with with specific condition like idk, gas gigant with a paradise moon without sentinels anywhere as exampl. But if anyone diesnor they fail in an other way you have to restart.

Ik GTA 5 got this but it would fit in nms too and multiplayer missions wouldn't be as soloable as they are now

Tl;Dr high risk, high reward multiplayer missions in multiple steps that doesn't have to be completed with the same crew but fun enough to do do em multiple times

Is it safe to use a save editor? [Question]

I've been playing NMS on and off for years and missed all but 2 expeditions. I'd like to obtain some of the ships and suits I missed, but is there any risk to doing so? Does Hello Games care if you edit your save to obtain these items? Do I risk screwing up my save in any way?

И снова категорически приветствую,в интернете не нашёл ответа на свой вопрос,обновился до версии 6.04, после чего все моды, которые были в формате .PAK перестали быть видимыми для игры(использовал Vortex mod manager), он их как бы устанавливает по старому пути(PCBANKS-MODS), однако результата нет, теперь у меня работают только EXML моды, которые находятся в папке GAMEDATA-MODS, если я распакую нужный мне мод PAK формата, могу ли я использовать его EXML версию в качестве мода? Или это не сработает?

Contest entry: Scarab Utility Cruiser [Ship Build Contest]

After learning how to offset parts on my last ship, I wanted to put that to use for a 2-wide, asymmetric design. Inspiration was drawn from Star Wars, specifically from the various craft seen frequenting the Mos Eisely Spaceport, as well as some characteristics of a C17 Globemaster.

2 decks - Lower Deck: front+rear access, cargo holds - Upper deck: flight deck, passenger seating, observation deck, living quarters, kitchen, mission planner

The large cap on top covers a bay utilized for housing two shield generators and a third reactor. The external engine pods took some fine-tuning as it was too easy to max out the complexity limit building them. This thing isn’t loaded with weapons, but it could be. Just a few defenses for my build but there is a lot of room for more.

Devestating corvette glitch [Bug]

I was playing with my buddy and the game gave me an option to call his ship, which I found funny. Then the next time I loaded up it ERASED my corvette and replaced it with a copy of his. I had it fully decked out inside and out. Im so devastated.

And I didn't think to load my previous auto save before I had already overwritten it. I could sob rn. Be careful guys.

I mean it. They are developing another game and keep releasing updates for this game. My sons are now 11 and 8 and we play … now on the same ship. 🤯

My eldest ditched Minecraft for nomansky and I couldn’t believe it. Minecraft was all its world. Building building more builds. Creating stuff … when he’s allowed to play the little brother was also all about Minecraft. Then , even though they knew about the game and even drew some arts about it they never really took interest past a few hours.

Until the corvettes.

Endless creations.

I created new saves for them and me and we got to explore, fight and die amongst the stars aboard our ship.

If you told my 10 years old self in 1990 that would happen when i was dreaming about games like frontier or wing commander ..

I’m forever grateful 🙏🏻 🙏🏻🙏🏻 of all the people that worked and working at hello games and the minds behind this. What a journey.

For building corvettes. I am plagued by a bug that has a module not connected even after destroying every piece on my ship.

Sean, please don't make me redo my entire ship because of this bug.

I'm essentially done playing because I have a ton of edits that won't go through and I refuse to throw away dozens of hours of work because of this bug, so I'm now locked out of building ANY corvettes since we can only have one design saved.

This is my legacy. What's yours? [Question]

I've spent almost 100 hours in this game. I know that's not as much as some but I'm proud of it. I came from nothing, became the bane of pirates, followed the atlas path, reached the core and learned the truth. I then turned away from atlas, became a pirate myself, made it rich on illicit goods, gave myself to the autophage, and made a gas giant.

I spent many hours creating my own flying home in the stars, and have everything I could ever need. This is my Legacy.

What's yours? Perhaps your greatest achievement or happiest moment in this great game. Or perhaps one thing you just really enjoy.

New Player att [Screenshot]

First time playing and I really liked the game, it demands a couple time to do stuff, search resources but it's great. I got some trauma with water-based planets, I found a couple that's almost only ocean with a few places to land and... really hard to make things work in those places. I'm always afraid of my fuel runs out while traveling and I got some great stuff, another ship and exploring the main questline. The pve it's kinda crazy because, at seems, it's infinite depending of the solar system... all the time some enemies shows up until I leave there, any hints? And I'm having some problems with storage and I wasn't able to find "how to build a chest" or something like it. How can I make one? Btw, that's my fist base:

Une de mes quêtes consiste à ramener des ressource au site de construction de ce bâtiment, sauf que comme vous pouvez le voir sur l'image, le "tableau de bord" de ce bâtiment en construction se trouve dans un mur de terrain... Et je ne peux donc pas l'atteindre pour y déposer mes ressources puisqu'il est impossible de creuser dans une colonie... Est-ce qu'il existe une solution à ce genre de problème ?

Creating a Corvette deleted my ship of over 100 hours. Everyone needs to know this is very possible. [Bug]

Be me, ducking around with the new build-a-ship feature. Make a test corvette, get a message about "Exchanging" current ship for the corvette. Yeah sure fine this message always pops up when I swap ships it's fine. I fly around in my new glued together series of boxes and thrusters and decide I want to go back to ol' reliable. To my surprise, I can't find my old ship anywhere. Not in the quick menu, not in my freighter, and certainly not where I left it last. I'm confused as fuck, so I do a little searching and come to find out, because I was at the personal ship limit of 7 or 6, making a corvette just fucking replaced my current and MOST IMPORTENT ship, the one with 100+ hours. I had no fucking clue I was at a limit. There were always empty bays in my freighter, why does the game just fucking delete your ship in this scenario. I don't want to play the game anymore, I'm so distraught.

I think we need a ‘Distant Worlds’ update [Question]

What I mean is a planet or two in systems that take anywhere from 5-10 min (maybe less) to pulse drive to. It’d really give a purpose for the auto pilot in the new corvettes. You could have highly valuable loot, tough weather conditions and dangerous enemies. I think it’d be cool and could add to the corvette mission console which is honestly pretty boring as of right now. Just a random thought, what do you guys think?

Fish'n [Discussion]

So on my initial settlement, the option came up to constuct a Fishing Lake, it really just looks like an above ground swimming pool. But, while adding modules to my multitool, I found the fishing rod module, said why not, purchased and installed it.

The whole concept is easy, cast the line and reel the catch. Caught two rare Screaming Oysters and a legendary Golden Jellyfish. Surprised at how much they go for on the market.

Help me with the controls, please! [Question]

So I decided to play the latest expedition on my new gaming PC rather than my steam deck. Having spent 100% of my several thousand hours playing with a controller, the first thing I did was turn on my controller. However, no matter how closely I follow any of the directions, I cannot get the controller working. I go to remap controls, select the controller option, select the Xbox one controller preset, and confirm it… but back in game it doesn’t work.

I found playing the ground game wasn’t terrible with kbm, but flying my ship just sucks!

Can anyone make any guesses on what’s up?

Amazing freighter luck? [Question]

I’m a new player with the game so I’m still learning how mechanics work in this game, when I saved my first freighter it was an S class and now I’ve just got my second S class freighter only a more battles with pirates later. Is S class more frequent for freighters or have I just got insanely lucky?

My (possibly controversial) changes to better balance Corvettes and Starships [Suggestion]

I've been worried that Corvettes might completely take over the game and make starships irrelevant, but I don't think that's really the case. They feel a bit under-baked in my opinion, but I'm sure this will change in the future, with more parts and mechanics added to them.

However, I feel like they're very close to overtaking starships stats-wise so here's some ideas on how to rebalance them both.

IDEA 1: Buff the base stats on regular starships.

This is fairly straightforward. With how easy it is to make an all rounder ship out of everything, this should make things more interesting.

Fighters and Interceptors: More damage per bullet.

Haulers: Double base slots for the same price and higher max slots than anything else (maybe 180 cargo/70 tech). Better shields.

Explorers: Even more powerful Hyperdrive. More efficient Pulse Drive

Shuttles and Exotics: Higher overall bonus, but obviously keep Exotics > Shuttles.

Solar: More damage (still less than fighters), more efficient pulse engine. Also add +25% Pulse Drive Power to the Vesper Sail (stacks with Sub-light Amplifier)

Living Ships: Everything... Just buff everything please (they really need it).

IDEA 2: Buff the regular starship fabricator.

With how easy it is to get corvette parts quickly, I feel like the regular fabricator should be better too.

When scrapping a ship, we should obtain all the cosmetic parts from a regular ship minus the reactor.

When building a ship, we can choose between 3 or more randomised presets of Supercharged slot positions, making hunting for the perfect space station easier.

IDEA 3: Corvette base stat rebalancing and new Corvette mechanics.

This is where I think people might get angry.

First, the new mechanics: Turreted weapons.

Add new turrets that can be attached to hab modules. They can...

Advance: Move step not working [Question]

This step asks for you to install 6 engine modules, but the previous step gives you a pack with only 3 engine module and when you build the ship for the first time, the game gives you 2 engine modules, so the total is 5/6. I checked my inventory, the ship's inventory, the station's cache and there is nothing there. I'm missing one module and don't know what to do.

pirate dreadnoughts [Question]

came across my first dreadnought after I claimed my first freighter earlier today. been trying to get an S dreadnought to spawn so I can claim that as my first one but I’ve been reloading for like 2-3 hours now and have literally only gotten C class dreadnoughts. not even B or A. is it just insanely rare or do i need to claim one of the C dreadnoughts first to be able to get the S dreadnought to spawn ?

Boxes of wine and random plants [Question]

So I have been able to run missions from my freighter for about three weeks, and I have just been stuck piling all of my rewards, boxes of Corvette’s wine, dirt that’s 800 years old, random plants.

Do I need to save these for anything? Or should I clear up my storage space and sell them? I currently have four storage units full of them

Currently, what is the best way to get ship storage augmentations? [Question]

I want to upgrade my corvette with more storage and tech slots, but the stuff I used for building is using it all, so what is the best grind available without using the menu option and setting the difficulty to "free items"?

I tried finding two guild members of the explorers that had these items, and claiming them, then teleporting to the other one, but it doesn't reset, maybe that method is patched?

I'm neurodiverse and I need help understanding EXACTLY what I get at the end of Expedition 19. [Question]

So, this is my first Expedition, and I have finished all the steps, and I'm just consolidating my stuff. Now, I saw that when I transfered between my main save and the Expedition, I could copy my corvette over; but I have progressed to the end now, and instead of being able to switch back and forth between my main and my Expedition, I just have the option to end and go back to my main save. So, my question is, if I hit the end Expedition button, can I still copy over my corvette to my main save? (I didn't do it earlier, and now I am regretting it, because this corvette is better than my main corvette).

Terrible performance on PC [Discussion]

Is this normal? I play this game from time to time, last time I played it was like two years ago and I had a RTX3070 and an AMD3600X on a 1440p 32 inch monitor and was easily getting above 100FPS.

I started playing today and I now have a 4070TI and an AMD 5600X with a super ultra wide but still 1440p monitor and loaded my old save and no matter which settings I choose I get around 45-60 anywhere I go. Enabling fsr, dlss or dlaa does nothing in fact it tanks my frames even more and don't get me started on frame generation.

The cockpit is up front albeit buried. Access is through a hatch as seen here. You have to jumpjet up to get to it. There's a single power generator and shield generator buried in the rear engine compartment area. Landing gear are on the wings near the nacelles. Some of the angled triangular bits, the radar dome, the dome under the front end, and the nacelle parts will probably take some scaffolding to be able to place them. 100 parts, legit build. No glitching.

ok so this is my first settlement. I found it on a planet but I don't think there is any hope for it. Most of the buildings are upgraded I only have 3 C class buildings and up. I would like to keep it alive but I don't know if there is any hope for it. Any recommendations.

Can’t delete a room on the freighter! [Question]

So folks I’ve got a problem on my freighter and I hope someone can help!

I’ve searched on Google for a solution but I can’t find any to solve this issue, I’ve created a room on my freighter, but I cannot even access it, the spot from where the picture was taken is the maximum I can get close to the room, when I realised that I then tried to delete it but it doesn’t let me, as the game says that there is nothing to delete, but as you can see it let’s build behind it, I’ve tried to turn off the game and load it back up again several times, I’ve tried to dismiss the freighter and call it back, I’ve tried everything I could think of but nothing works, anyone knows anything I can do to fix it?

Love the new update but have grew to dislike it? [Question]

I have a lot. This is sorta me being mean but also not but. I cant tell yall how many times I've went to the anomaly and someone has a absolutely glorious ship build but I start to lose frames and my ps5 over heats and shuts off. This has happened multiple times and anymore going onto the anomaly is a gamble on me crashing. Idk if there's really a solution besides going offline. If anyone knows how to help it would be appreciated

Starbirth Quest - Issues getting to Starbirth icon location after going through portal [Question]

I am on the starbirth quest and just went through the portal. First of all, this place is a mess and I cannot get anywhere because it is always raining!! Anyways, the mission log is telling me now to find the souls but the starbirth icon thing is still in front of me only when I fly but I can never get to it nor land near it.

I read through some guides and do not see any building to go through just a bunch of dead bases that people have created and left or something. Any ideas? is there something I am missing?

Changed our game experience for the great [Discussion]

This is to whoever randomly threw some stasis modules in my inventory in no mans sky. I just got back in after 5 year hiatus and brought my buddy/roomie. At the time we are sitting on around 5-7 mn units each... THEN it happens I go to clear out inventory after a long journey and bam there they are. I tell my pal and he doesn't beleive what has happen and I barely understand it. We share the wealth and enjoy the corvette life, with all the laughs and joys of finally traveling together. What an experience and what a charge to our experience. I plan to pass on what I have left and I thanks who did and those who do the bring a great gaming community together.

For that I say Bravo. From "just a player trying to have fun"

Intergalactic Highway Project [Screenshot]

hey travelers

I'm a longtime player, downloaded in 2016. But the new update won't let me access my old save data so I'm grinding from the start again in normal mode.

so I'm gonna build an intergalactic highway. because no one else should have to grind this hard to see all the galaxies (256 apparently). getting to the center of a galaxy is fairly easy if you do all sun glyphs at a portal and then jump. But it'll damage your ship which is way resource intensive.

the way it'll work (eventually) is I'll post my friend code and taxi people to the first few galaxies. Hopefully, as it grows, more people can help taxi more users and more galaxies.

I might make a discord? Idk we'll see if there's enough interest. Right now, if you're interested in helping out, you can use the portal code below. It'll take you to my moonbase. I'm almost done with Artemis path so I'll have portal access soon.

Black screen [Bug]

Hey so a day or two ago my game froze and when I loaded back in I was stuck in a black screen. I can see and interact with my hud, I can hear the game audio but the actual screen is black. And its iced up around the edges like im in space. I tried dropping what settings I could. I tried changing the game mode to see if that was it, I even deleted my save files from console storage and re-downloaded them from the cloud but nothing seems to help.

I tried a new save file but it only works if I click relaxed for some reason. Any other mode and it does the same thing.

I tried grabbing a screen recording but on the recording it shows up fine without the black screen. Is there anyway to fix this or is my save file/game just corrupted and not worth saving at this point?

Any corvette glitch builders in here that have been experimenting with the rotation methods? [Question]

I've been playing around with the various offset and rotation methods that I've seen and keep running into an issue. The rotation glitch requires free placement of one of the inner hab modules, and even when I think I have it lined up properly, my builds end up ever so slightly off. Is there a trick to centering things in free placement?

I'm aware that you can achieve this in planetary bases and freighters with wire glitches, but I can't think of a way to make use of that info that doesn't result in building off of free-placed parts

Apart from these moments there was a time I came across I derelict frigate and the music that played was just perfect, it gave this somber, emotional feel as I looked at the wreckage that used to be a frigate full of crew

Old base structures still present [Question]

Hey all, any help would be appreciated. I'm just getting back into the game after some time. I found a runaway mould location and slapped down a computer. In my travels on that planet, I found another runaway mould location about 1300u away, which was too far to extend the base via structures.

I went to the computer and tried moving it about halfway between mould locations, but then realized this doesn't impact the 1000u extension limit because it's based on the original placement of the base PC. Rough, but ok.

So I deleted the base by going to the computer and deleting the base. All structures disappeared. Perfect. So I put down a new base PC in between the two mould locations and start the expansion both ways. Everything is great until I put a wall near the initial location of the first base PC, and then all of its structures came back and can't be deleted.

Is there any way to delete these structures? Some way to report it so that they can be deleted?

Tl;dr- my old base structures popped back up and are in the way of my new build even though I deleted the base using the base PC. Now they can't be deleted or destroyed.

I recently got a sentinel ship and didn't realize I had no fuel left to use my launch thrusters. I have to recharge it with either pugneum or a radiant shard, and I have neither. Is there anyway to leave this planet, or can someone save me?

FPS help pls [Question]

Anyone running this game with AMD gpu and cpu software that can help me optimize fps? I’m getting pretty consistent drops… tried everything I could, other more demanding games I play run fine just this game is giving troubles. I’m not thinking that either the gpu or cpu are bottlenecking each other since both are running similar utilizations around 30 percent and rarely passing 50 percent utilization. Idk what my monitor is called (old) anymore but it’s a 60Hz 1080p monitor so I’m chasing 60 fps at 1080p which I set up properly as I do with other games that run perfectly fine.

Question about Freighter battle spawns [Question]

So, my understanding was that freighter battles could only spawn once every 2 hours. I don't warp much on my main save... I've kidna been hanging out in the first few galaxies, exploring, building, doing main quest stuff etc.... well I'm doing my first expedition now. and just on my way to the second checkpoint, I've come across 4 freighter battles almost consecutively...

So now my questions are... Is the 2 hour cooldown not a thing? is it just not a thing in expeditions? is it not a thing until you actually accept your first freighter? (I've just been taking money since my understanding is you can't keep it anyway and I'm just trying to get the expedition finished up). Just trying to understand for the sake of my normal save file since I don't have a freighter yet.

If this ever reaches you I really appreciate it! I never got your name and I was just so flabbergasted at the randomness of the gifts I couldn’t express anything except emotes(mainly due to me being on console) 😭😭 I’m still kinda new to the game and it just made my heart happy that there’s still a lot of cool people out there online! Need Help, i think I lost my Corvette [Question]

So I went to the center of the Euclides galaxy to reset the galaxy, but i didnt know my stuff would be broken, and I went with my Corvette. When I started the next galaxy, i didnt find my ship so I spawned another normal I had so i could search in my cargo ship, but the problem is: it isnt in the cargo ship neither I can spawn it on the planet. Did I just lose my ship or is that a way to find it?

Corvette parts not showing up in tech slots after editing ship? [Question]

When i built this corvette, it had nearly every part showing up in a tech slot, giving stat boosts, but after I edited it just now to slightly move things around, barely any are showing up. This ship has 4 engines of 2 different types, an extra landing gear, and extra photon cannon, an extra torpedo launcher, and an extra high-energy shield, but none of that is showing up and the stats are lower than they were before. why does this happen and how can i fix it.

Thinking about getting a PS5Pro and VR [Question]

… mostly just for this game.

I used to play it on Steam years ago and have really been wanting to play it in VR.

Just wanted to gage the group on getting a PS5 Pro now or possible wait for the PS6?

I’m not sure investing in a gaming PC setup is the way for me to go even though I have the Oculus 3 currently.

I think the Living Ship Questline is bugged [Bug]

I have a horrid bug and dont know how to fix it.

I got gifted two eggs in order to do the mission. It all started normally, I was doing the mision normally. When i booted NMS after doing one of the mission (In which i had to wait 24hrs), I realised i had to do it again, and my eggs got duped. Idk why that happened, but i only had to do it once, with the heart.

(Im sorry if its hard to understand I just dont know how to explain it)

Now i have finished the entire mission, and im supposed to go to the place where the ship is... the thing is it doesnt tell me where i need to go, and it just gives me the same prompt as in the start of the questline. I truly dont know what to do.

(This is what it says when the questline is done, and it should then guide me towards the ship)

(Instead it shows me this prompt as when you start the questline)

To anyone that can help, Thank you.

Pelican [Ship Builds]

So I'm a huge fan of the Halo franchise (Bungie developed titles), so I attempted to make a Pelican. It's not perfect by any means, but it did turn out far better than I thought it would. I took a rip at making The Pillar of Autumn, and quickly exceeded the piece limit. All I have to say is I'm glad glitch building exists lmao.

Since we're showing off our rides, I call this one: Polis Massa. [Ship Builds]

I named her after the battle I would always lose against a friend of mine when we'd play Galactic Conquest against each other in Battlefront 2 (2005). I was inspired by Mal naming his ship after The Battle of Serenity Valley.

I'm a sucker for big cylindrical turbines (Serenity, The Razor Crest, etc) so I designed her with that sort of silhouette in mind. And I decorated the interior to feel cluttered and "lived-in."

I'm proud of her. And after being a habitual ship swapper for 9 years, whenever I found a cooler ride, this is the one ship I've kept around the longest. And I have no intention of trading her in any time soon.

She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts.

I'm thinking of buying NMS, but the scope of the game seems almost too good to be true. [Discussion]

So I'm looking for a new game to get lost in, & my friend recommended NMS to me. I knew next to nothing about the game, except for the horrendous launch that it originally had. My first reply to him was "NMS? People still play that?" And he laughed, & told me that it's an entirely different game now.

So I did a bit of research (aka I watched a YouTube video) and to my surprise, this game seems utterly incredible? If you're actually able to build whatever you want for a base, have massive ships to fly around in, explore countless planets, & discover creatures then I need to purchase this game immediately because it's extremely my shit. I had no idea that this game had a turnaround & I must've been living under a rock.

I'd love any insights from the community, or just general sentiments from long-time & new players on how their experience with the game has been.

Buggy Update [Bug]

This gets a bit ranty:

Just finished the Corvette Expedition, was transferring items over to my regular save from the expedition. I bought the expedition ship for 2800 nanites, and got it. Was able to put other modules in it, then my game crashes. I load back in, the ship is invisible. I can't see it, can only interact with it through the menu. I was able to take the modules out but the ship was gone. Decided to build a new ship with some of the good modules I had and realized I did not have some of the main parts to at least save it as a corvette, exited out, bought a few parts, went back to the supposedly saved build, and those parts are gone too. So now the ship I paid nanites for, and the good modules I had are all gone, I'd made a sorta basic corvette because I wanted to bring the parts over to the main save, and I'm just frustrated now. I just caution you all to be careful with the Corvette transfers, don't wind up like me.

See, I need help with the quest "Under the rebel star", This wouldnt be an issue but i nabbed the quest while in another region of space, Like a very far distance of space, As in i went through a black hole and was shot out on the other end of the galaxy, And then I teleported to my home base without visiting a space station in that area, And now I can't get to the quest with it being so far out of the way.

I need help with getting to that location and would appreciate any answers or tips on how to get back to a specific region of space.

I'm stuck trying to learn Atlas words [Question]

Less than a month ago I started a new game and for about a week I've been trying to farm all Atlas words. For two days now I've been stuck on missing 32 words. No matter how many Atlas Stations of Monoliths I visit and no matter how many in-game popups tell me I've learned a new word I'm still missing 32 words. Is my save corrupted or is there something else going on?

Raining in space? [Bug]

Ever since I built my first corvette, I can’t stand them. Not because they suck in any way to me, no I love virtually everything about them… problem is that I am hearing constant and obnoxious water dripping with faint “rain against metal roof” noises inside the corvette, and actual just nonstop rain sfx when I am space walking. I can’t hear it when I am actually piloting the corvette, and it doesn’t play when moving around the corvette while landed. I was just unsure if it was intentional or if my name is bugged.

Can someone help me understand this stats guide? [Question]

nms resources claims that placing parts in a certain order can affect corresponding stat boosts. But I'm struggling to figure out how to use this data.

From what I gathered on the site, placing 3 particular parts in a specific order is the strategy. But I'm not seeing the results they claim and I'm left a little confused.

Are you supposed to pick 1 item from 3 categories and place them? I E. Thunderbird LT first, another Thunderbird LT second, and then a Titan class cockpit to get the launch cost decrease and maneuverability boost?

Or do you place 3 from the same category in a particular order? I.E. 3 subsequent Arcadia Heavy boosters for the maneuverability boost listed?

The chart is just hard for me to follow with the limited explanation, and I can only seem to boost maneuverability by a fraction when I try.

I think I messed up. [Question]

So I’ve never played an expedition, but I started the new one. I need to go to a pirate system, but I believe I may need to install a Conflict Scanner first? Unfortunately it requires a Walker Brain which I think I may have received as a reward for a previous mission, but not knowing I would need it later I think I must have sold it. Does this mean I have to try battling a bunch of sentinels to defeat a Walker? Please tell me it isn’t so. There has to be another way. Anybody?

Survival elements of the game, minor factions, and the games INSANE potential [Suggestion]

I LOVE the fear of item loss and the content that the restricted stack limits, etc, brings to this game. I only wish that there was more, more survival-esque content that made your game feel hostile and grounded, and some incentive for people to play with these settings on. Like a permanent expedition. I started playing on launch of the corvette update and this game has stolen my life. I just want harder enemies, danger both environmental and via pirates/enemies, and above all, I would LOVE some kind of minor factions to be added to the game that we could bolster or hinder to take over systems almost like elite dangerous.

Wars between minor factions in which you bring your freighter into battle via warp in would be truly a BLAST, with potential to lose freighter inventory(NOT freighter storage container inventory, just its main inv) could be insanely fun. Also, space stations being constructable by the player would be absolutely incredible and could serve as some kind of planetary territory control.

This is a game about exploration, I get that, but its already been evolving into more and more over the years and the potential it has right now as it stands is STAGGERING. I realize none of these features can be too impactful because of save editing, but they could be very fun all the same, if done similarly to how the rest of the content works. Focus on fun, not competition.

I've spent about 100 hours in this game, came from nothing, became the bane of pirates, served the atlas path, learned the truth, turned away from atlas, became a pirate, got rich on illicit goods and joined the autophage.

Now I've retired in my flying home with anything I could ever want.

Corvette Question [Question]

When I built my Corvette and "Accepted it," all of the slots were full because I put all the engines/guns/hyperdrive/etc. pieces on it. When I take it for it's first flight, it only has one of each of those mods. is this normal? Do I need to just upgrade it like I normally would?

Expeditions [Question]

I decided to start a new save (I wanted to replay the missions). Two previous saves I have 800+ hours combined. I can’t retrieve any previous expedition rewards. I know I’ve completed them. Expedition rewards are locked in red. Unable to claim. Has anyone else have this problem? Is there something I’m forgetting to do? I’m on Xbox platform.

Free Freighter - Advise Needed [Question]

First time posting, but really been enjoying the game, probably put 40-50 hours into it over four weeks. Anyway, needing some advise - I learned about the free freighter event while working through the Atlas mission tree but flubbed it the first time anyways by accidentally shooting a trader. Went to station to drop the agro but never got the message.

Read some posts from the community saying it is fine anyway, first freighter isn't really great but I've gone through about 4 more events since then and none of them really sticking out as good - even one ranked A showed up but had terrible stats (far as I could tell) and had 18-19 storage slots somehow. Really looking forward to picking one, this one looks fine and looks okay even though it shows as C rank, anyone willing to weigh on whether or not I should take it?

Loosely based on the Space Launch from Gundam [Ship Builds]

The Space Launch is basically a small lifeboat/work vehicle employed by space colonies and capital ships in the Gundam universe. This version has 2 internal decks, though I may work out a single deck version as well. Internally it has primarily bunks and seating for passengers as well as a medical station and basic supplies. This is also my first attempt at making an interior(beyond just placing corvette modules).

Wire Glitch wrong rotation [Question]

Hey, I've been following a tutorial on a base design and did everything from scratch at least 4 times by now. I cant get third panel to snap into the right rotation. I placed the wires in the right order, aligned everything multiple times. The other two snap on first try but i cant get the third one to work. Help would be appreciated

Corvette possibly broken [Bug]

Almost all the hardware parts for my ship in my technology slots have disappeared in my corvette. I was fine with the bug having to move em around every time I called my smaller ships yo use then switched back to my corvette but this is flat out unuseable atp. Not even going to the corvette modify station and replacing the parts seems to fix it. The second photos is hoe its supposed to be. Any ideas what to do here?

Controller Suddenly Not Working (Steam) [Question]

Can someone please explain why my controller just stopped working in the game? It was working flawlessly for a week and all of a sudden over the past couple of days it never connects. Sometimes I can fix it by switching to "Use default settings" in controller settings, but it's never a guarantee. I don't recall messing with any settings.

I'm using an xbox elite series 2 controller wirelessly with a usb dongle, and it works in every other game that I use controller in (I tested it just in case).

I’m crying my eyes out right now so if this is incoherent sorry, While playing with a few of my friends we had landed on a planet as per usual when i spawned in my freighter to get recourses out of it when my corvette randomly transformed in to a perfect copy of my friends and I have no idea how to get my ship back, I have spent nearly 10p hours making it the way it is and i am praying there is a way to get it back. A few nitpicks with Corvettes [Discussion]

Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing addition to the game, but there are just some things that nag at me during gameplay. None of this really hinders the experience, it's just noticeable things that could be altered in a future QoL update. As shown, certain standard Starship weapon systems cant be removed unlike in other starship classes, it's lowkey annoying to switch through an extra weapon I don't use. (This might be a bug, idk) The cockpit and the Medusa Reactor don't gain adjacency bonuses with the Pulse Drive modules. Even at S class and maxed out, there just isn't enough tech slots available for how many upgrades you can have, since you can preinstall Corvette upgrade modules on top of getting other starship upgrades. (I ran into this problem more often than I thought I would, which was never) This was definitely said before but the Deadeye Cannon should be its own high-damage precision weapon, perhaps it would act like a giant Rail Cannon or of the like with a hold & release trigger pull similar to the Blaze Javelin. Basically all the Corvette class thrusters' based exhaust flame (idk what to call it) is a bit too blue compared to other starship thrusters which mostly glow white. Customized starship trails should change the color of the thruster flame so it drives in the fact that the exhaust appearance has been overridden.

I don't played NMS since dec 2018.

And saw corvette update, it makes me return and trying expedetion.

But it was my first expedetion, so I didn't know I could start expedetion from first save.

I already made another save for it and compelete.

But I want to get corvette and modules from it.

Is it possible tot copy from it? Or should I try another expedetion?

My corvette was replaced with my brothers [Bug]

Okay super weird bug. I had a millennium falcon I spent hours making that I was showing my brother in multiplayer. I’m on Xbox and he’s on PC. During a nexus mission we were doing together I had changed ships to a regular one to make it easier for me to fly around. When I summoned my falcon again it was replaced cosmetically with my brothers ship but with tons of parts missing. So now I have like 2/3s of his ship and my falcon is gone :( at least it kept all my s class modules and inventory slots so I can just rebuild it cosmetically. Super weird glitch I want people to be warned about.

The landing pads stretched out on either side, each marked with glowing glyphs. Some stood empty, others were crowded with ships: a Vy’keen fighter still steaming from re-entry, its pilot marching round the hull in full armour; a Korvax survey shuttle with panels open and delicate tools laid out on a floating tray; a clumsy Gek hauler being prodded by two mechanics and a nervous owner. Travellers threaded between them, mostly alone, all with the look of people in a hurry to obviously better be elsewhere. Others moved here and there with the restless air of people chasing time: one in a patched suit hustling towards the mission booth, another already halfway into the teleporter’s glow.

Rince kept moving, weaving between ships and people, always conscious of the long walk from the docking zone to the trade terminals at the far end. Controller on PC issues. Randomly fixes but cannot replicate method. [Question]

Hey so I've been back playing this game for the past week.

Every time I open the game on PC my controller simply doesn't work. (only on NMS)

I've tried opening gamepad tester, enabling and disabling steam inputs. I've tried going thru NMS settings. Nothing works until it randomly decides to work??? Then it'll be fine for that session but as soon as I close the game it isn't recognised...

Does anyone have a consistent fix for this?

Video tour of my Enterprise-E inspired corvette. Designed and built on the fly during the expedition. Currently collecting signatures at a rendezvous near you! [Ship Builds]

I know it's not perfectly proportioned, it's ludicrously large and curvy while also too pointy (title of my... never mind) but that view from behind when I come around the corner still takes my breath away sometimes.

I flipped back and forth between smooth saucer and stealth fighter saucer, and the smooth one just looked TOO thin and I felt I was over using that speedbird cowling. It feels more practical now, like people could actually fit up there, the front square piece is like an ablative shield protecting the bridge or something, due to more atmospheric flight than most starfleet ships. (my head cannon) but yeah... all 4 middle pieces (top and bottom) being speedbird was pretty damn hot too.

Sorry for not interacting more, I'm having too much fun actually playing the game!

Apparently some people were curious how I've done a couple of my builds and personally I glitch build using scaffolding and a Torp launcher snapping to all the mid points on it, then putting a new piece of scaffolding under that torp launcher and deleting the first two and keeping that last scaffold as an anchor cuz so many things love to snap to those points and they're easier to see than some of the other parts I've seen others use. I've been calling it midpoint glitching but I guess everyone calls it agecency glitch or something I'm spelling that wrong sorry. Pretty neat being on the cutting edge like this for once in the thousand hours I have in this game LOL!

also I'm able to hide stuff like the photon cannon under that cowling under my cockpit. I put the cannon down on the bottom piece of cowling, and the top piece of cowling will want to fit upside down (flat bit up) but not the way I want it (flat bit down), so if you line it up and flip and place it at...

Building neatly [Question]

Any tips/hacks for placing building pieces neatly? I had to put the game down yesterday out of sheer frustration on not being able to place the round room on a floor while snapping, decided to just eyeball it but when it was placed on paving tiles, you couldn't see the round rooms floor, only the paving tiles. Which isn't as good aesthetically.

JUST MAKE EVERYTHING CAPABLE OF SNAPPING TO GRID, gosh, it's not rocket science (heh)

But yeah, is there anything item that snaps to these paving tiles or floor tiles that I could then use that to snap everything else to? I doubt it but just thought I'd ask.

Any other building tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated! 🫶

Secondary missions missing from log until I talk to quest giver a second time? [Question]

What’s up yall. I had a few missions seem to delete themselves from my log despite me knowing I specifically hadn’t completed them due to putting them off, one was The Overseers Tour, though I got the quest again once talking to him. I had started stacking space station missions and knocking them out simultaneously, is there a limit to the amount of quest I can have in my logs?

So how do things tend to go after an Expedition, in terms of what's built along the way? [Question]

This is my first one, and I'm still feeling it out. We're gleefully following the path, and I, like many others, keep getting distracted by finding the perfect place to put a base. I've only seen a couple planets with multiple bases, but most systems have at least two different bases, all the way down the line.

So when we're all done here, all of this stays, and opens back up to the wider galaxy. Does it... just kind of become a town? Nothing on the scale of the stuff they're working for Galactic Hub, but... many of us do just now own several houses all along this star lane.

What I mean is. when the dust is settled and we've corvetted our very best, what is likely to happen on the newly colonized planets when there's neighbors nearby? This expedition is basically my first actual multiplayer, I have no idea what to expect from here.

Broken Alone Amidst the Stars? [Bug]

So to keep this short and sweet I need to place three signal boosters to triangulate my position for Artemis.

Placed one, then for one reason or another I flew off planet and now I cant even make a second one nor can I find my first? I'm out here hopping through all the old systems I've been too incase I left it in another system and I just forgot which but so far everyone I go to I cant build a new signal booster. Its simply not in my build menu.

I've looked into reseting missions as I hear thats a thing you can do but I haven't seen the option to do so.

Stuck on planet after The Purge quest. Ship Invisible and can't leave [Bug]

As typical with that quest, you are placed on a planet, stuff is broken- Yadda yadda. I fixed all the important stuff but I can't access my ship. It's invisible and when I try to build near it I get the Corvette furnishing menu. I have never built a corvette. Also my ship may have been replaced enitrely?? It has a new name now for some reason. Really disheartening to get this far in the game and encounter this bug. Not really sure what to do aside from making a portal to my base and trying there.
